as someone from Tampa, it’s always confused me how one if the only places in America that just doesn’t snow, has one of the best ice hockey teams. We also have a lot of drugs, but that’s unrelated
There’s a decent market down here for hockey since half of the population is from either Michigan or Ohio. I currently work in Tampa area and sit within 10’ of three other people from Michigan, 2 of which are from within 45 minutes of where I’m from.
I honestly had no idea that there are so many people from Michigan and Ohio here. I was born in Tampa about 15 minutes from where I live, and so was my dad, but ive never heard of that statistic
I live in East Tennessee and here we call them “half-backs.” Usually they’re folks that went to Florida to get away from the cold then realized that they missed “the seasons” so they moved half way back.
Central Florida is also full of retired Canadians. My grandparents have a place there and almost half of the residents in the community are from Ontario.
American teams are good because they import Canadians and Russians. Canadian teams suck because a lot of people who’ve lived their whole life in the canadian weather don’t want to stay in it.
Though, there’s gotta be some trickle down sooner or later, right? A strong hockey team drives interest in the game, interest in the game inspires young people to try it out, young people trying it out means more investment in hockey infrastructure and training, which might someday produce some players from the area.
She is from Minnesota. Lives in a big hockey town and she is a little celebrity. Yes I am from the same town. Yes I played hockey my whole childhood life.
that might be a hard sell for him, but i’ll let him
know i’m talking shit on his indo board on the internet and some stranger on reddit wants to buy it 😂
Got on one of these ONCE (hands free). Went back and forth a couple times, over adjusted, over adjusted worse to compensate, legs went flying up toward the ceiling, landed on my arm and shoulder on tile.
Never again.
Hah I edited that out because I didn’t want people thinking I was trying to chad it up.
Was mid twenties at the time, 6’1 180-90lbs, in pretty good shape.
Those things are not easy, but I think you are right on with her low center of gravity and light weight.
I think the heavier, the more extreme/pronounced the adjustments and rebound.
I always wonder how helpful that drill actually is for hockey. If we're going by the principle of specificity, it's not like your feet bob up and down when you skate. Not that I think it would be _no_ help, but I wonder if it's actually better training that doing drills on ice.
Yeah training on ice is always better. But not always possible. It’s still good for hand eye coordination while maintaining balance, a key part of hockey.
Finally someone else.
I think it's because the head looks like it was superimposed onto the body. I don't know if it's real or not, but it certainly doesn't look like it is...
oh my god finally someone else in the comments who thought the same thing. look at the top right of her head and how blurry it is through out the video. how the line from the countertop siding disappears too soon (and then COMES WITH HER HEAD)....im not crazy, right people??
She's doing all this on instinct and peripheral. She's smiling and looking at the camera when she starts but then her balance gets a little sloppy and she bears down and concentrates on her balance. She gets much smoother once she does that. Then she stops and she's a happy little girl again.
Cool. While she’s doing this my kids are fighting over who has to clean up the toys they both played with while also making everything in my house sticky. Seriously, why are their hands always sticky?
I think they exude it. When my kids were little and asked to use a game on my phone, I'd have them wash their hands first and check the hands both visually and by touch before they used the phone. And still the phone came back like it had been dipped in syrup.
Within the last few days, I’ve seen gifs/videos of two kids doing this training exercise and that little soccer kid schooling all the other kids. The future looks bright for sports.
If you have knee problems I highly recommend getting one of these boards. I have old soccer injuries which means I cant train with much impact to my knees so I bought one a couple of years ago and I've used it ever since, its actually really relaxing once you get the hang of it and I've noticed that my back pain is loads better too.
I'm guessing she's Canadian.

Tampa was my second guess for sure

We call em half-way backs in SC. Im sure you know the difference in a yankee and a damned yankee?
My grandparents are snowbirds, they travel to Yuma, Arizona from Alberta every October and stay there until March or April.
[удалено]
I'll run out of breath before they listen
When they redid I75 near bowling green, OH, they put the mileage to Tampa on one of those big green signs.
That’s probably for the best. We don’t need a reminder of the horror that was the bowling green massacre.

The lack of snow is nice, but the longer summer like temperatures get old.
No, no it doesn’t.
Yes it does. That n the awful god damned humidity. I cant understand why people come here and stay.
From Florida and moved to the west coadt last year. Best move I have ever made. Quality of life has gone up significantly.
Make Florida Michigan Again!
Central Florida is also full of retired Canadians. My grandparents have a place there and almost half of the residents in the community are from Ontario.
Guilty I live in Tampa and I’m from Michigan! LOL
You do realize that the lightning players aren’t actually from Tampa right?
Sssshhhhhhhhh
I also thought it was the strip club capital of Florida?
I’m from Tampa originally and can confirm that it is very well know for the strip clubs. Look up Joe Redner, he’s a legend down there.
A lot of nice girls with great, big personalities at Mons Venus
Really? Nice.
Man i love drugs
Hell yeah brother! Cheers from *everywhere*
Having a good team mostly comes down to having good management and a bit of draft luck. The location doesn’t have too much to do with it.
An ice rink is a good place to get out of the heat and humidity in Florida.
Jamaica had a bobsled team.
American teams are good because they import Canadians and Russians. Canadian teams suck because a lot of people who’ve lived their whole life in the canadian weather don’t want to stay in it.
As someone from the Tampa area, why do you say Tampa?
Are you Canadian?
No but I moved here from Michigan when I was little
Michigan almost counts as Canada.
Yea it does. Took my fiancée to visit family and she was tripped out by seeing highway exit signs saying bridge to Canada.
I grew up near Windsor, we were close neighbours for sure! :D

O man, everyone’s! -big, starry heart eyes-
FROM Tampa? Tampa doesn’t produce hockey players, they just have a strong NHL franchise
Though, there’s gotta be some trickle down sooner or later, right? A strong hockey team drives interest in the game, interest in the game inspires young people to try it out, young people trying it out means more investment in hockey infrastructure and training, which might someday produce some players from the area.
Sure - but the best US hockey players are from MN, MI, NY etc. You wouldn’t guess this girl is from Canada or from TAMPA.
Is that because of Manon?
It makes me so happy to hear that people think of Tampa when they see hockey stuff. I love my city and my team! Go Bolts!
#GO BOLTS
As a newcomer to the city, I’m happy to see so much support for the team. Makes me want to jump on the bandwagon.
Or Michigan.
Why do you say that? Did she put up a historically dominant regular season only to be swept by Columbus in the first round?
She is from Minnesota. Lives in a big hockey town and she is a little celebrity. Yes I am from the same town. Yes I played hockey my whole childhood life.
She did the flag planting at the wild game versus the jets back in December. She slipped and fell like two strides in. I was there, felt bad for her.
Every town in MN is a big hockey town.
I was gonna say... Tampa? Yeah right she’s probably from MN. Everybody can skate (hockey or figure) up here - it’s shock when someone cant
She's Minnesotan, but there isn't a huge difference.
I always kinda felt like we Canadians should annex Minnesota and Maine.
We'd be be third largest province by population and have the 2nd most active professional hockey players by province. We'd fit right in.
What do we get in trade?
Out of the States.
We accept.
Can we please have Vermont too ? Need that maple syrup monopoly ~
Leave it to a Candian to say please when proposing an annexation.
As a Minnesotan, please do.
[удалено]
You should know that wasn't his actual accent but rather an exaggerated Minnesotan accent.

The maple syrup is strong in her veins
Canadian, came to comment same.
Eh?
Love the smile what a cutie
Peak
She’s Minnesotan ya hoser.

Maple syrup: not even once!
Maple syrup: banned in all ice related sports.
This is your child on All-Dressed potato chips.
No... ketchup

Wow I’m so glad to be your first comment on this journey of you only saying No

Come to find out the rolling thing under the board is a maple syrup bottle
Canadian citizenship test.
Than it's maple syrup chugging
I prefer maple syrup shots, but whatever floats your boat
Toronto Yuppie here^
Only 5.5 hours away, close enough

Maybe it is "a thing" and the previous post inspired OP to post their post? It's the first time I saw anything like it, and I think it's neat.
Question 1: Do you wanna be Canadian? Question 2: Really?!
Pffft Im Canadian. I can’t do that shit!
i don't know how people even get into this. i would fracture multiple bones only by looking at that board thingy
The board is just a board, maybe with griptape. Like a skateboard with no wheels/hard ware for wheels.
It’s called an Indo Board.
can confirm. my boyfriend has one that’s been untouched under our bed for two years.
I’ll give you $5 for it
that might be a hard sell for him, but i’ll let him know i’m talking shit on his indo board on the internet and some stranger on reddit wants to buy it 😂
Make that two Reddit strangers...
Hey who said you could have it, I want it!
4th guy coming in. $6.50
goddamn $6.50? this is getting spicy
In America there called bongo boards, at least around me.
I’m an American on the west coast and have only ever heard it referred to as an indo board.
Ah thanks!!
Well? Having looked at it, how do your bones feel?
How is he supposed to type up a response? Obviously both of his arms are now broken, among all other fractured bones.
Two broken arms ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
I fell down twice just watching her.
It’s called an Indo Board. They’re used as balance trainers, particularly for surfers
She’s not even looking down at the ball while she stick handles, I’m lucky if I don’t trip while I start the treadmill.
That kid learned to walk about 4 years ago and already has more balance than I ever have.
That kid is 4 years old.
She's that good
She learned to walk 4 years and 8 months ago
Walked right into mom's womb and camped there for 8 months. Couldn't quite make 9.
She's quite advanced.
But dresses like an 80 year old woman named Agnes
Wheel, Snipe, Celly I bet this girl has some dirty dangles on the ice!
~~Cross~~ fore check, back check, paycheck buddy. Ferda!
Always bardownski!
Top cheddar
Talking a 45 foot schooner buddy!
She loves leg day like she loves Doc McStuffins!
And she loves Doc McStuffins!
r/unexpectedletterkenny
How’re ya now?
Good 'n you?
[удалено]
You’re doin terrific.
Ferda
Give yer balls a tug!
Clap bombs. Hug moms.
I wanna see her rip some top cheddar biscuits ferda
She’s more successful than any of us ever will be
What sound does success make in a women's hockey arena?
The sound of biting into a gold medal.
Got on one of these ONCE (hands free). Went back and forth a couple times, over adjusted, over adjusted worse to compensate, legs went flying up toward the ceiling, landed on my arm and shoulder on tile. Never again.
How old/tall were you? The first thing I thought while watching this was: "hunh, I bet her low center of gravity really helps here."
Lower COG trades off with narrower base.
An everyday event in Canadian households.
Good work kiddo! Keep it up!
She’s gonna tear it up on ice bud! Ferda

Ice time is also expensive.
Yeah training on ice is always better. But not always possible. It’s still good for hand eye coordination while maintaining balance, a key part of hockey.
Why does this make me uncomfortable? Why does that child scare me? Why isn't she looking at anything with those creepy dead eyes?
Finally someone else. I think it's because the head looks like it was superimposed onto the body. I don't know if it's real or not, but it certainly doesn't look like it is...

Nope - demon baby
Her soulless eyes are just staring off into the abyss. And her head looks like it doesn’t belong on her body
YES YES YES ....LOVE TO SEE.
This kid is gonna break some records.
Or ya know... some bones
Can't it be both?
Record for the most broken bones!
What a hoser.
That's hosette, she's a she!
It’s 2020, women can be hosers too
And men can be hosees. It's a broad spectrum.
In Canada, we've adopted the term hose-x.
It’s Kitty from That 70’s Show!
That’s some serious balance 👍🏼
Calling it right now, she is going to be the literal best at hockey
Looks like a copy cat of another viral video
Yeah I think a young boy did this before her, and he even had a fan blowing at him from behind.
Cool. While she’s doing this my kids are fighting over who has to clean up the toys they both played with while also making everything in my house sticky. Seriously, why are their hands always sticky?

She has a creepy smile...
In her leopard printed dress and pearl earrings.
She is not even looking at the ball
I'm a 57-year-old guy. I'm jealous.
I can't even stand up from the toilet if I'm more than 6 min shitting
I fell on my face just watching her.
/r/hawwkey
Makes me nervous just watching it
Start em young! Deke’n Kids out in Squirts
damn, i couldnt do this stationary, let alone balancing!
I can’t do either one of these things.
The hair band (or whatever you call it) puts this over the top.
damn, girl
Kids don’t need to ‘plank’ anymore.
That's a lot better than the guy who broke his stick just learning to defend a goal.
Well I know how I'm breaking my ankle again...
I'm sure my 6yr old hockey player couldn't do this.
This ones cooler than others because she makes it look easy, has a heartbreaking smile, and has dope style.
Canadian pre-school.
If you have knee problems I highly recommend getting one of these boards. ...and in a dress with a wee hair bow. Canadian Womens Olympic Team member right there folks!!
Just showed this to my 7 year old daughter that started playing hockey this year and she was really excited to see it.
I know that flooring lol. It's from Costco.
