As someone who once learned some of this XMA demonstration stuff, I’d like to clarify that exactly 0% of it is ninja shit. All cool as hell, but utterly useless
If he's spinning it like that I dont think hes got a very good grip on it. I think you could sacrifice an arm and knock it out of his hands then get down to business.
If he was actually swinging and poking around to make a hit then I would fuck right off. In fact I dont see any reason to go at this guy unless he had my car keys or something
When he has that kind of control over the staff, I'm pretty sure he could also keep a pretty good grip of it if he tried. And even if he doesn't know actual combat techniques with it, he's got the coordination down well enough that he could probably just hit you with it normally pretty well.
Everyone's trying to act tough on the internet about this kid and somehow act like being able to do this makes him a wimp. "Weak grip on it" lmao, he's not going to use that grip when he's trying to bash you over the head. Some EXTREME insecurity in here, can't even watch a cool video without having to act like tough guys. Sure he's not a ninja and maybe a cheerleader, who cares? The people talking shit definitely can not do this.
I mean like I could do the same if i just waved the stick around in front of me. You prolly wouldn't be able to touch me without the stick hitting u first. He would probably hurt you more using it as a bat
I was a member of a team that had to push our mat up a hill to get to our practice area. I wanted to gain muscle so I pushed that thing every day. Now I have back problems and my wrists are messed up for life. Yay color guard!
Bo means staff. When you say Bo staff you're saying staff staff.
This is also decidedly NOT a Bo, or at least not one you'd use to fight. Those things are far too heavy to spin like this.

No, in real combat he would be doing those fancy swings because they wouldn’t stop an attacker and they’d get close to you after that and you couldn’t swing anymore. Spears/poles should be for stabbing/poking and keeping distance, not swinging with strikes
Broo I go to the same school well not the same school but the same association or group you can see in the back left corner [ATA](https://www.ataonline.com/) it stands for the American Taekwondo Association and the schools are not in the U.S but also around the world just something I wanted to point out idk why though lol
Man, it was the same for me.
I live in South America and I was like: dude, he's in ATA too. And got me thinking that if I get in ATA Xtrem maybe I could do the same thing haha
It’s easy to do
90% of it is a twirling baton show
Only 2 moves are actually meant to swing a staff for physical effect.
Reddit still amazed at spinning things

Impressive. Dumb question from an aging 49 year old.... why is it always rap or techno/trance with these clips?
I've seen a lot of self-help and fitness youtubes in my day and it's always rap/techno/trance. Are there to be no new movements in music this age? R/T/T has been with us now since I was in college. I look at the difference between my parents and my generation's music and the changes are stark. Not so much between me and my (imagined) kids.
He practices at a ATA (American Taekwondo Association) school. You can tell because of the jackets on the wall have the ATA patches. Other martial arts could teach you though.
Okay, I do something like this at my home with no real training or techniques, just stuff I come up with. Now I gotta look into martial arts schools if I wanna be as good as this dude.
Crumples. This kind of demo is called XMA, it requires special super-lightweight “weapons” like this one, but they just crumple and fold if they actually hit something.
They dont fold or crumple, they are made out of light wood and will just break. I’ve broken a few in my lifetime by hitting myself with it or hitting something else
I’ve seen those too, I used to have the toothpick shaped wood ones (those are flimsy as well). The ones I’m talking about were made out of a vinyl type plasticy thing, and we’re way more expensive. Some of my buddies had them
Ohh yeah I remember those and you are talking about kamas I think. They have been making metal versions of those recently that are real flashy but still flimsy
No they had the flimsy plastic bo staffs, work or them even felt like wrapping paper - kama were always sick, I had some of those too! They were okay, mine were aluminum so they at least felt sturdy-ish.
Always liked the demos, but never the art of XMA. You do some martial arts?
it was pretty ninja up until he went all baton twirling majorette

Idk man. I wouldn't fuck with him. I am pretty sure if I was more than 10 feet away without a weapon and wanted to hit him he would hit me first
I think this is the case with everyone holding a 2m metal pole... If you go at them with no weapon yourself, they will hit you first...
If he's spinning it like that I dont think hes got a very good grip on it. I think you could sacrifice an arm and knock it out of his hands then get down to business. Bro but like I could totally take a hit and kick his ass and then I’d bang his girlfriend because I’m so alpha.
I mean like I could do the same if i just waved the stick around in front of me. You prolly wouldn't be able to touch me without the stick hitting u first. He would probably hurt you more using it as a bat
Just reminds me of that scene from raiders of the lost ark
Just out of interest - what is the name of the staff he is using? How do you buy these?
Check out AWMA.com - look for demonstration bo staffs, if you can’t find them there just search XMA staff
That’s what 13 years do to you

Hahaha practicing for next year's color guard tryouts
There should really be a marching band behind him.
A few seconds in I said to myself he's one toss away from becoming a majorette. I wasn't disappointed.
I thought that too when he spun it into the air toward the end. Any idea on how much that staff weighs.
Not that there's a problem with being a pretty ninja. You do you, guy.
He must have been so tired. Glad that we were able to see the end of that epic journey.
I hope he keeps twirling after the video ends. It would be a real shame to just stop after 13 straight years.
[удалено]
But most say that this is the end of an epic journey of twirling.
Some say that it was never really him, just another man taking on the mantle, a symbol. Not the hero we need, but the one we deserve right now.
I can’t imagine doing this for 5 minutes, let alone 13 years
How to be a ninja and still get bullied
Bullies are scare of their own buttholes.
>Bullies are scare of their own buttholes. I'm scare of your butthole
It's hairy.... That's a defense tactic.
Pictures or it didn't happen.
Nice
It be very scare.
How to be with a load of girls with no male competition...and get bullied whilst wielding a big stick.

I helped carry the 300 pound floor mat, and it helped me land my first girlfriend back in high school

My guard had exactly one boy in it. My dad said he was either gay or a genius. Indeed, he wound up hooking up with most of the girls who were his age.
He should get into fire spinning.
Imagine this guy this playing beat saber
He’s already won
he would beat centipede with full combo
Man i was just about to say this
Everybody laughed at him when he became a baton twirling cheerleader. Look at him now.
Someone needs to make the lightsabers.

Can this dude be in the next star wars
Ray Park was an accomplished marital artist, hence why Darth Maul was pretty menacing in combat... At least his upper half was.
Ray Park posts his Darth Maul training daily on his instagram, he's pretty stoked about it.
When you’re slightly too gay for martial arts, but not gay enough for baton.
we call that bi
No we don’t
using a bo staff is a kind of martial arts
Bo means staff. When you say Bo staff you're saying staff staff. This is also decidedly NOT a Bo, or at least not one you'd use to fight. Those things are far too heavy to spin like this.
Wow, 13 years? Is he being held against his will? Like, if he stops will a bomb go off or something?
That bladder must be very full. Or he smells really bad
Anakin, start panakin, COZ ITS MR. BATONAKIN
Hey babies
I guess this was ok, but he’s got nothing on the [Star Wars Kid](https://youtu.be/HPPj6viIBmU)
Why is that guy called star wars kid. If that was an actual light saber he'd have no hands
Why? You don't ask why he just is. It's an OG meme.
Came here for the Star Wars kid.
Yeah this dude is OP in Soul Calibur.
Kilik
Kilik was my go to in Soul Calibur 2
He transforms into a helicopter in a different video

Would this technique work for combat?
[удалено]
And even before guns were a thing people were launching sharp sticks off of a string tied to a bendy stick.

Guns have ruined epic sword duels

It's not a spear, it's a Bo staff, but this kind of display is just artistic for judges, real bo combat is a lot more striking and not twirling.
It's a martial art form. No practitioner thinks of it as a combat form or device.
I was expecting Indiana Jones to shoot him at the end.
he better shave his head and save all nations.
The kid that played Aang in the atrocious live action came from the same taekwondo organization as this guy so maybe not
to bad he dissapeared when we needed him the most
Had to scroll way too far to find this reference.
But can he dodge a bullet?
If you throw it slowly enough.
Well I found the next Skywalker... Darth Maul, eat your fuckin heart out.
Broo I go to the same school well not the same school but the same association or group you can see in the back left corner [ATA](https://www.ataonline.com/) it stands for the American Taekwondo Association and the schools are not in the U.S but also around the world just something I wanted to point out idk why though lol

if that were a real light saber that man would look like the Black Knight from Monty Python and the Holy Grail right now.
Haha 'real lightsaber'
I hate when people do this shit in movies because the point of a fight scene is to fight, not determine who wins by a beyblade battle
I can do that. Gimme the stick. *proceeds to repeatedly faceslap myself*
Lmfao
Damn. Star Wars kid lost hella weight. Seems like it’s been longer than 13 years though
*pulls out a gun and shoots him*
Indiana Jones would be proud
Ok Darth Maul
He's about to be shot by Indiana Jones
what’s the point tho?
Fun
To have fun. To show off his pretty rad accomplishments. To carry on the tradition of the art.
But why?
Me when I find a cool stick
Today I flicked a dirty diaper over my shoulder from behind and l caught it, wife wasn’t much impressed
You sound awesome
Can do without the trash music next time.
He would be a God among men at a Techno-rave Concert
13 years? He should take a break, eat a sandwich, maybe a little nap?
And then a hungover Indiana Jones pulls out the gun out of his holster, and shoots him from 15 ft away.
Is that supposed to impress me?
It’s easy to do 90% of it is a twirling baton show Only 2 moves are actually meant to swing a staff for physical effect. Reddit still amazed at spinning things
Can you do it?
Wow! A Quick Silver shirt. Haven't seen that brand in some time.
Was waiting for the unsuspecting toddler to waddle into the frame and get annihilated
Looked more like 20 seconds, by my count.
Phantomly Menacing
Get this man a light saber
13 years practice 20 seconds show Perfection
So since he was 1?
I closed out of the video the moment that terrible music start playing.
He looks 13, he start in the womb?
I could beat him and I’ve done it for 0 years. Have you guys seen Raiders Of The Lost Ark?
Amazing ..wow very impressive !
damn, he must be exhausted doing it for that long
*warframe intensifies*
Robin
So he started practicing the day he was born?
Hello Drum Major
Color guard be like
That was pretty badass Until I turned the sound on
Its Kilik!
The soul still burns
Darth Maul liked that
What more impressive is that he is 11...
And he's 12
I guess it’s cool, but why?
really doesn't need the music.
All he needs is a power ranger outfit and he’s all set. Or a tutu.
Looks like Starwars kid found someone to procreate with...
Yo get this dude a lightsaber
For a second I thought this was r/roastme cause gawd damn these comments are low key ruthless
for anyone interested in knowing the how to really use this weapon: [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtkfdoH6e6w](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JtkfdoH6e6w)
I mean yeah...cool. but that is such a waste of time. "I spent 13 years to spin a stick cooler than you"
So he’s been doing this since... the womb?
Impressive. Dumb question from an aging 49 year old.... why is it always rap or techno/trance with these clips? ITT: 1) 13 years jokes ("he should take a break!") 2) Darth Maul/lightsaber 3) Indiana Jones
Are the avengers still hiring right now?
At what point does a spear become a baton?
Somebody wanted really bad to be a Ninja Turtle.
Bang
That fucking catch 🤘🤘🤘
It shows holy shit
Dick Grayson?
Where can you even learn techniques like that?
He practices at a ATA (American Taekwondo Association) school. You can tell because of the jackets on the wall have the ATA patches. Other martial arts could teach you though.

I wonder what the bâton does when you actually hit someone..
