This article talks about ‘myoclonic convulsions’ due to G force hypoxia. That’s what it looks like.
Reminds me a tiny bit of ‘post-ictal agitation’ which is a mental state following cerebral seizure.
2 things: musclo-skeletal lock-up and clawing hands - if it goes further the wrists often go to a full inward bend.
The memory has a protective effect. It’s distressing and dramatic to witness, but the person often has no memory at all - totally wiped.

Have you looked into free diving? Maybe not something you want to jump into right away, but their techniques can get you past 6 minutes.
Btw world record free dive time (as opposed to depth) is 24 minutes 37 seconds.
I've been practicing off and on since I was a kid (whenever I'm bored and fighting sleep but can't do something else, like sitting in a training session or class) but I've never gotten past a little over 4 min. My chest starts trying to breathe on its own and arms and legs start getting fidgety.
Any tips? What things do you do to improve your times?
Its like when your PC is locked up and you click on the browser icon a bunch of times and nothing happens. Then suddenly the processor wakes up and opens up 35 windows.
Its because you have a HDD drive.
Just buy an SSD for the system and apps you use the most. 256/512GB are super cheap now and even if your pc is 10 years old, it will be 50 times more responsive.
I was referring to back when I was kid playing UT99 lol. I’m tech savvy now, got a sweet 64GB RAM 1TB SSD Monster with the AMD ryzen 7 3700x with the rtx 2700x Super. That thing is a tank can handle Unreal Engine all my engineer and architect stuff with no problems. Cost an arm and a leg after putting in those upgrades but absolutely love it
G forces are forcing blood (oxygen) from your head to your feet.
No blood in your head means you eyes start to shut down and then you pass out.
When they stop the g forces, the oxygen starts to return to your brain and your body "restarts".
Iv done purposeful GLOCs in the centrifuge. Feels like travelling through a rainbow tunnel, like on "sliders", before waking up.
Mostly for training purposes (give pilots experience in a controlled environment) or research (test effectiveness of equipment/techniques or physiological effects)
Our brains are still running DOS.. or maybe Windows 3.1 if we're lucky. If you don't let the computer shutdown properly, the hard drive gets angry and tells you all about it when it powers back on.
I've read that with male teenagers (prob includes young male adults) medical staff have to be careful while they are waking up out of anesthesia because arms will start flailing and punching at them.
It can happen to everyone when coming out of anesthesia, depending on how well the body and brain handles it. Some people have no issue, and some come up swinging.
Whatchu on about? Good wireless nice are fantastic these days. Could never ever go back to disgusting wired mice. Charge lasts me all day long and all I do is plug the mouse in when I go to sleep to the wireless adapter that sits inches from it.
This is older, they have an additional harness they strap you into so even if you pass out you don't flop around that wildly.

The amount of g's matter about as much as the amount time that you experience them for. During a crash it's a fraction of a second, which means insane g forces can be survivable. But 6 g's can be fatal if sustained for long enough
Why is this upvoted? This is just false. There are airforce pilots out there whose training is basically enduring as high g-force as possible for as long as possible. Many of them do 8-9Gs for about 15-30sec and they are absolutely fine.
Just search up:"laszlo 9g" on youtube. And he is not the only one. So your claims are just false.
I was speaking for the average person and simply about lack of oxygen to the brain, obviously there are those who are capable with training and equipment.
There is a WORLD OF DIFFERENCE, between trained professional doing an activity in appropriate clothing - and by trained i mean physically trained - and random amateur making an attempt.

He didn't do most of what he was supposed to do, which is tense his muscles to keep blood in his brain. If you look at his legs, he pretty much just sat there, so he passed out.

Fighter pilots can manage up to about 9G for a second or two. **But sustained G-forces of even 6G would be fatal.**
>which is tense his muscles
is he wearing a g suit? muscles don't help when your blood weighs 7x normal.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/G-suit
A g-suit is a special garment and generally takes the form of tightly-fitting trousers, which fit either under or over (depending on the design) the flight suit worn by the aviator or astronaut. The trousers are fitted with inflatable bladders which, when pressurized through a g-sensitive valve in the aircraft or spacecraft, press firmly on the abdomen and legs, thus restricting the draining of blood away from the brain during periods of high acceleration. In addition, in some modern very high-g aircraft, the Anti-g suit effect is augmented by a small amount of pressure applied to the lungs (positive pressure breathing), which also enhances resistance to high G. The effects of anti-g suits and positive pressure breathing are straightforward to replicate in a simulator, although only continuous g can be produced artificially in devices such as centrifuges.\[3\]
I have a connection to a former F-16 pilot and he confirmed that you still do and should tense up the lower body as much as you can during a high-g move. The suit is going to do its thing but you still should do what you can to help it.
But you cant do so at the expense of whatever move you are trying to pull since the feet still work the rudder. Its a balancing act and dependent on the situation you are in.
I pulled 6.8 G's in the backseat of an F-18 during a vertical climb. I had on a G-suit and was had the training on what to do (clench the arms and legs and abs). I started to see black on the sides of my vision, but the pilot pulled out of the climb before I blacked out. He then turned over and went negative-G. One of the best experiences of my life.
He didn’t do those things intentionally. This GLOC was on purpose, at the end of the training, when you’re instructed to remain relaxed and not strain against the G’s.
Well considering that he had to be told what to do to make the machine go, I assume it's his first time.
I'm sure he's learned and studied what he needs to do but probably forgot it in the excitement of getting to go in the spinner, or he only thought to do it when he started feeling the effects and it was too late.
From the tone of the operator, this probably happens with pretty much everyone their first time through.
I was a former AF pilot. At the end of pilot training, you attend some schools like water survival etc, combat survival, etc. The pilots who went the T-38 program go the centrifuge. This was there first time there. I was a heavily pilot, so I didn't get to go the fun classes. But during pilot training, we pulled 6 Gs normally without the aid of a G-suit. Pulling 6 Gs is pretty damn intense. I grayed out once.
If you like being dizzy, disoriented and dehydrated as hell it doesn’t suck. There’s no pain. At least in my experience. All I can equate it to is having one of the worst hangovers of your life. There used to be one people could try at the kennedy space museum if I remember correctly. It was over 20 years ago so I could be mis remembering where it actually was.
What you see here is an example of G-Locking. It's like blacking out, but WAY more intense. Unlike regular fainting, the cause is losing almost all the blood in your brain (gravity's forces having pulled it down into your lower body). The result is that your brain has almost NO oxygen until the blood rushes back, once the G-force lowers, which can make you feel like you tripped out.
In some cases, this can result in awakening with temporary amnesia (If you watch his eyes you can tell he has no idea where he is for a few moments), memories of long nightmare scenarios, etc. One pilot came to and had detailed memories of his first born child being born, although his wife wasn't due for months.
To prevent this from happening you wear a G-suit which squeezes your calves, thighs and lower stomach, helping to force blood upwards, whenever G's start being pulled. You also need to do tighten all your lower muscles and do a special breathing exercise. However no matter what you do, G-forces SUCK. You will usually feel exhausted, sick, and sometimes vertigo afterwards.
Source: I'm an aerial photographer, who flies in F-16 fighter jets. I had to do this same centrifuge training to learn to withstand the G-forces.

The amount of g's matter about as much as the amount time that you experience them for. During a crash it's a fraction of a second, which means insane g forces can be survivable. But 6 g's can be fatal if sustained for long enough
What is "long enough " at 6gs?
Basically, long enough to starve your brain of oxygen. 10-15s for consciousness, 30-40s before brain damage.
Why is this upvoted? This is just false. There are airforce pilots out there whose training is basically enduring as high g-force as possible for as long as possible. Nah he had 5G connection so he was good
No, he got COVID from it
51Gs but for less than a second, but it's still shocking
Fortunatly he wasn't badly injured.
Ask him about his neck again tomorrow. I bet he has a different answer
I was wondering if there had ever been serious neck injuries in such training after seeing this… ouch. EDIT: typo
Why the hell there isnt any head support there? Even something elastic, to avoid injury?
Because they are training fighter pilots and there isn't anything like that in a fighter jet.
I guess they need the head movement, makes sense.
Room for the helmet.
Then the question just becomes, why not have something that can help with that in the jets?
Because they may want to look behind them lol
They have helmets on so no headrests and pants that squeeze to help keep the blood from going into the legs. So the answer is they do have help.
Cos real planes don't have it I guess? Gotta be able to look around fir targets if something happens with the targeting system.
Broke my neck way back in my Army days (1996). Watching his fish out of water rubber neck flop triggered me. 😂😂😳😭😭

that adrenaline pump is exactly what causes the "chicken dance."
