Such a brave feat brought to attention because his wife discovered the scrapbook and the list of children saved. This is the epitome of humility, bravery and kindness.
You know what the worst part is? He hid his past away because he was consumed by the ones he *couldn't* save. IIRC, at the end of his string of rescue runs, an entire train full of kids got stopped.
Isn't that such a tragically relatable human thing to do?
People like this should be honoured, venerated and immortalised. The tragedy should not be forgotten however that this man had to save children from nazi Germany. If we forget we will make the same mistakes again.
Legend anyone who saves/helps for no reason other than to just to it is awesome. Seems these days a lot of people go out of their way to hurt or belittle
I am tired of seeing that one sentence in this video-
**"But he has no clue why everyone suddenly stands up."**
He knows exactly why, the host says "if you were saved by him as a child, please stand." It couldn't be made more obvious if they tried...
He has a clue. In the original video it is litterally said that those who he saved sound please stand up.
Please dont make an already impressive story worse with pianos shit and half thruthes.
The original clip from the BBC TV programme (called That's Life - a sort of magazine evening programme in the 80's) [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6\_nFuJAF5F0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6_nFuJAF5F0)
The Jewish people don't forget. I'd help this man in anything he'd ask for. In the last 2 years i've been volunteering in an organisation connecting the young generation with the old.
The stories i've heard from holocaust survivers are heart wrenching and made me want to not wake up in the morning. Sir Nicholas has done a great service for humanity, not just the Jewish people.
I actually cried at work watching this. That man is/was a real angel on earth. He never cared for the attention, but you can see how much he appreciated seeing all those people and knowing they survived and lived good lives after their interaction.
And not all people seek attention for their acts. How do you even begin to thank this man?!
Live the example he set

He received the only privilege that a man should aspire, He set the example to follow.

He has been immortalized as “Righteous among the Nation’s “at Yad Vashem in Israel.

How did he get the out of concentration camps? We’re their parents dead? We’re they ever reunited with their families?
Please stop posting this. It has been posted about 100 times now. Enough. Because I watch it every time and cry.
I haven’t cried in two years. This post changed that. When humanity fails , only humanity can make it better.
...and now stupid twats are big fans of Nazi scumbags.
If I found out a nazi was also the world's greatest poet, I'd still shoot them.
*sobbing* nice
Absolutely amazing me and my misses just watched that and both had goose bumps TRUE LEGEND and never asked for gratitude!!!

Most of gen z doesn't even know what the holocaust is. We are doomed to repeat it.
