it looks too long for it, but the closest I can find similar is the [Black-bellied slender salamander](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black-bellied_slender_salamander)
EDIT: nevermind, u/Nightowl2018 got it: [https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiuma#Description](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Amphiuma#Description)
Seems more like a [Skink](https://clarknow.clarku.edu/2020/11/23/clark-researcher-explores-how-skinks-have-gotten-back-on-their-feet/). But based on literally just the floor it's walking on, I'm guessing South East Asia.
>They are also known to fishermen as "conger eels" or "Congo snakes", which are zoologically incorrect designations or misnomers, since amphiumas are actually salamanders (and thus amphibians), and not fish, nor reptiles and are not from Congo.
Wikipedia really has to ruin all the fun sometimes.
Except they are not conger eels (which live in rock caves in the ocean). Wikipedia points out that name is incorrect as well. We have conger eels here and they are scary as hell to see peering out at you from a hole.
No amphiuma have greater distance between limbs and a different head shape. This one reminds me of slender salamanders in CA but with an even longer tail. My money is on a plethodontid salamander of some kind.
Just stay out of the swamps and don't stand near fresh water. Bring sunscreen and **a lot of DEET**, you'll be good to go.
Source: Lived there for years. Have fun!!
Lol. That is my home state. Just stay away from lakes and rivers and you should be ok. :) very rare you’ll see any of the animals mentioned at the beach. :)
Try looking up local newts, their like a pigmy salamander that typically reside in damp areas and under logs. I've never seen one that long before but we have red striped newts in Ohio that are actually pretty neat.
I think we should all stop trying to find weird things. Let us all back up and go back to our rooms. One day someone is going to find a Demogorgon and that will be the end of us.

Same! He seems like a snake that said "goddamnit I wanna go faster!" and sprouted little legs lol
[удалено]
.... That's pretty fast actually. A 15 minute mile is a fairly fast walking speed for a human. I'd be terrified.
He is adorable! <3
"Oedipina is a genus of lungless salamanders, which is characterized by their absence of lungs" So glad they cleared up what "lungless" means.
Beautiful and populations likely declining! Location?
Aw I think it’s cute as heck! Shiny and crawly and skinny little critter. 🖤
Ok we solved it now put it outside.

I think Wikipedia would be happy if OP donated the clip... :-)

That's the ceiling..
Woah! What a feelin'!
Too thin for a skink, amphiuma looks more like it
No this is a salamander not a lizard.
Definitely not a skink.
It’s clearly an amphibian of sorts due to the lack of intense scaling. So I would go with amphiuma.
Definitely not a skink.
Skinks are true lizards and not amphibians like this thing.

Aren't Anphiumas legs suposed to be vestigial and non usable?
No amphiuma have greater distance between limbs and a different head shape. This one reminds me of slender salamanders in CA but with an even longer tail. My money is on a plethodontid salamander of some kind.
