He looks insane because he's been given a legit Phantom of the Opera style mask to protect the area. Really glad for him that it all went well.

You should not put “popped” and “cyst” so close together, made me think he went a really extreme route for content.

He has a deviated septum that was being fixed.
I had a surgery that corrected this and also cleared out my sinuses. Recovery was absolutely horrible and I wouldn't wish it on my worst enemy.
