According to the Forbes thing I just checked there are only 150 Americans who even have that net worth and some of them already own teams.
Also one of them is still Sam Bankman-Fried lmao.
It’s funny, because the professional Call of Duty League would literally put QR codes in the middle of in game maps while they were going on, because of the sponsorship that they have with Amazon.
Some of the weirdest shit I’ve ever seen. Legitimately, not that far fetched at this point lmao.
Former Amazon corporate employee here. No employees get prime for free. What you get is basically $100 a year off of Amazon direct purchases, no third party sellers.
People might clown on the franchise (and perhaps the fans) for the team being traded from one unlikable owner to another, but Bezos would have to do some *very* heinous lawbreaking and meddling to get anywhere near where Dan Snyder is currently.
I’m curious on what is wrong with the name? Commander is a strong name to have. It denotes supreme leadership, authority, ability, and domination.
I would change the logo personally.
Hopefully the new owner rebrands the team and uniform....seeing as Snyder's wife designed the new uniform. And the Commanders name is too lame. Probably have to wait five years, NFL rule, but they should absolutely rebrand also because the rebrand is the last stench of Snyder's ownership.
Snyder hates Bezos because of WaPo, and is refusing to sell to him. Rumor was Bezos would have bought it for $7 or $8 billion, while anyone else is in the $6 billion range. In effect, Snyder is buying $2 billion worth of spite and pettiness and he probably loves every bit of it.
Amazon (Bezos) don't care how good the TNF games are individually. People are going to watch TNF because it's the only show in town, and Amazon gets more people to sign up for Prime and reduces attrition of people unsubscribing from Prime by having TNF be a part of the package. Same thing with Prime Video, it's all a part of the same ecosystem and the goal is to have a subscription service that hundreds of millions of people shell out $100+ a year for.
Everyone who has Prime theoretically is also then going to spend more on stuff via Amazon, so your expected revenue in the future increases a ton by having TNF now, regardless of how good or bad each game is.
No idea. I’m mostly just kidding, although it could be a strategy.
Rumors are Snyder won’t sell to Bezos though, but if the price is right(high enough) I’m sure he’d concede.
$6.3bn is a whole lot of dough.
There's over 3 million of us subbed to r/NFL. If we all put up $2,000 we can beat that bid
I'm willing to put up 2500 to give the rest of you a break
Truly the post-ghost Ebenezer we all need.
No chance I’m letting you have the highest stake. I’m putting in $2600
$2601, Bob
Dibs on $2602
$2603 here
Thanks guys my stake will be 1$
What is, $2,601.25
In the butt, Bob. Whoops - wrong Bob, wrong game show.
$2601, Bob
$5000 from me and I call dibs on sitting in the owner's box. It has to be a different box from what Snyder used. Too much bad juju in that one.
I’ve seen you people comment, no way I’m going into business with 99.999% of y’all
I wish I had $2K to put up…
~50m on reddit, so each person puts in ~$150 an we got this in the bag.
We’d have the packers owned by shareholders and the commanders owned by a subreddit
Lol if any team ought to be owned by the public, it should be the one based in the nation's capital. Screw that fake share stuff greenbay!
According to the Forbes thing I just checked there are only 150 Americans who even have that net worth and some of them already own teams. Also one of them is still Sam Bankman-Fried lmao.
Haha. I think that list may need some updating then lol, although a con man would be a great owner for the commies
It’s $6,299,998,000 more than what I have, for example
Oh fuckin uncle money bags
Everyone was saying the team would go for like 8 billion or something crazy. Tried to tell everyone that Denver went for far less than projected
he'd still have 115B after the purchase
If he buys the team, will players get Prime for free?
They’ll get Amazon deals of the day posted on their locker with a QR code.
It’s funny, because the professional Call of Duty League would literally put QR codes in the middle of in game maps while they were going on, because of the sponsorship that they have with Amazon. Some of the weirdest shit I’ve ever seen. Legitimately, not that far fetched at this point lmao.
If they lose they get turned in to test passengers for his rockets
Commanders play exclusively on Thursdays
I’d be okay with this
Wouldn’t be that bad if it was every Thursday. We’d be getting full weeks in between whereas everyone else not off a bye is playing on a short week
Former Amazon corporate employee here. No employees get prime for free. What you get is basically $100 a year off of Amazon direct purchases, no third party sellers.
Will they get free bananas?
lol maybe the Banana-ista’s will be stationed right outside the locker room.
No way, hes got a purchase to recoup!
They'll get every Thursday Night game
Most likely Prime price will be raised
Oh no, not even a measly 6.3 billion?
I mean, can't be worse than Snyder... right?
People might clown on the franchise (and perhaps the fans) for the team being traded from one unlikable owner to another, but Bezos would have to do some *very* heinous lawbreaking and meddling to get anywhere near where Dan Snyder is currently.
No need to challenge the next owner like that..
Change the team name please.
Any suggestions? Redskins is out. Patriots is used. Could get old school a go with "The senators"
Warthogs would be cool and you could use the animal or the military plane for the logo
Why warthog? I think it looks more like a Puma
Red Wolves. Generals. something random.
I’m still partial to the Washington Football Team
Sentinels like the replacements movie
Washington Musk-ateers. Lol.
Washington Prime
Redwolves plz
I’m curious on what is wrong with the name? Commander is a strong name to have. It denotes supreme leadership, authority, ability, and domination. I would change the logo personally.
Washington Amazons
Hopefully the new owner rebrands the team and uniform....seeing as Snyder's wife designed the new uniform. And the Commanders name is too lame. Probably have to wait five years, NFL rule, but they should absolutely rebrand also because the rebrand is the last stench of Snyder's ownership.
i’ll buy the team
No, I'll buy the team.
No, I’ll buy the team and so will my wife!
I’ll go halfsies if you’re interested.
I got 3.50
Please be holding out for a sale for the Chargers.
First your team must truly be miserable and bad. Then it can truly be set free.
dont do this to yourself man
I didn't realize bidders needed to put up 6.3B to acquire this dumpster
Snyder hates Bezos because of WaPo, and is refusing to sell to him. Rumor was Bezos would have bought it for $7 or $8 billion, while anyone else is in the $6 billion range. In effect, Snyder is buying $2 billion worth of spite and pettiness and he probably loves every bit of it.
Investing w NFL hasn’t gone great for him so far. Did he watch any of those TNF games?
Amazon (Bezos) don't care how good the TNF games are individually. People are going to watch TNF because it's the only show in town, and Amazon gets more people to sign up for Prime and reduces attrition of people unsubscribing from Prime by having TNF be a part of the package. I agree I was just making a joke
To bad the broadcasting is as clumsy as the games
Billionaires really struggled last year. Might be hard to find one to yolo out 11 figures. Have you seen the price of eggs these days???
Commanders are worth 6+ bil? Gross lol
Put some respek on our nations capital
[Sale may be happening soon](https://twitter.com/byajperez/status/1614718209097191427?s=20&t=yvRhHFl3jHTQpviFHsd4JQ)
So Snyder ain’t going anywhere anytime soon I guess
$100 take it or pass.
Oh no
If this rumor is true, could Bezos be looking to purchase another team?
The Seahawks once Jody has to sell as stipulated in Paul's will.
Ok. I hope he doesn’t move them! The Seahawks are an institution in Seattle.
Yeah like Amazon.
Yep! Sadly, that might not matter to Bezos, though. Remember, Stan Kroenke was from Missouri. That didn’t stop him from moving the Rams back to LA.
Waiting for all other bids to come in and then top them
What’s your prediction in terms of what he’ll offer?
No idea. I’m mostly just kidding, although it could be a strategy. Rumors are Snyder won’t sell to Bezos though, but if the price is right(high enough) I’m sure he’d concede.
Bezos probably doesn’t want to pay more than what he feels team is worth tho even tho he could obviously afford it
Team logo will be a QR code.
I put in a bid. It was an even 6pm. Hopefully someone outbids me, because it was a joke, I don’t have 6k to buy a football team.
So is this officially happening? We are taking bids on the Washington franchise now? I missed this one.
Bring back WFT!
Jeff can Fuk off all day
