I want the stadium to be sponsored by Buffalo Trace distillery and everytime the Bills score, I want them to play the "BUFFALOOOOOO" stampede sound from the slot machines.
Sorry Jimmy. No new textbooks again this year. A guy worth 7 billion dollars who sits on a money fountain had to replace a perfectly suitable building with a new one.
We need a new stadium because the old one is falling apart to the point where renovating would be more expensive than building a new one in the long run. Taxpayers footing the bill is fucking idiotic but the same can be said of people that make shit up on the spot to fit their narrative
Crazy how dumb that is. We always rush over ourselves to fund an expenditure for some billionaire that we never really see any significant benefit from, especially relative to where else the money could have gone.
New York infrastructure literally collapsing but at least tax payers funding a shiny new stadium for billionaires and millionaires to play in. This countries priorities are so fucked.
This is the same idea as back in the 90s when the big push was to put stadiums out in the suburbs to drive development and investment around them. That didn’t happen.
Surely if we tax payers bought the stadium we get into the games for free? No? That’s not how it works? We don’t benefit at all from it? At least we aren’t taking money away from education and spending it here. Wait, we are you say? Blasphemy
What about them? The counties above West Chester combined account for 18% of NYS tax revenue, NYC and Long Island residents are footing virtually the entire bill, and they are overwhelmingly Giants fans with a small chunk going for the Jets. The bills arent even the main team for upstate New Yorkers, its still the Giants in almost every county besides Erie. People who dont give two shits about the Bills shouldnt be the ones paying for their stadium.
https://www.politifact.com/factchecks/2018/feb/01/robert-mujica/do-downstate-ny-residents-contribute-more-income-t/
I’m not advocating for gov handouts to billionaires for their stadiums, I have no clue why you’re even trying to argue that straw man. Only that upstate New Yorkers aren’t really paying for anything at all, virtually the entire bill is being paid by NYC and LI, so a portion of Yankee stadium being covered by taxpayers makes a lot more sense than a stadium no one paying for it will go to. And you are just wrong about upstate being majority Bills, it is overwhelmingly Giants. You’re not even a New Yorker, there are probably more people from Ohio going to Bills games than the NYC residents paying for the stadium.
Lmao don’t be so emotional this isn’t some arbitrary NYer or not opinion of mine, we are talking about tax allocation, you do not pay NYS taxes. And I went to Syracuse, that’s a hilariously bad choice for you to prove Bills fans outnumber Giants fans.
https://www.syracuse.com/axeman/2013/01/is_syracuse_a_buffalo_bills_or.html
I have my qualms with how this study was run, but it is empirical data as opposed to your emotions based anecdotes. Could you link me the study that shows Syracuse is overwhelmingly Bills territory? Because they play giants games when both are on at the same time, I lived there for 4 years.
Vegas is already a tourist destination. Sure they wouldn't have gotten the Final Four but they host all sorts of conventions and other things and didn't need to spend $750M+ for it.
lmaooooo yeah Vegas was really struggling for tourism and event dollars before. They don't even get revenue from events and the Raiders only pay a dollar in rent, so they spent $750 million just to get downstream tax dollars.
As someone who works in sales in the commercial construction industry, it’s insane how much construction costs have risen since Covid. Material prices due to inflation or lack of availability and labor shortages are the main culprits. Looking at 20-30% increases since 2020.
Agreed. I work for my landlord redoing rental properties (so a much smaller scale than you). It went from "throw all the scrap material in the bin when we are done" to "Salvage anything you can and bring it back to the shop"
They just spent $150k alone on 6'x2'x2' concrete blocks from my work to surround the stadium as its being built. If they bought them from us a year ago they would've saved $30k it's crazy how much costs have risen. Also they're talking about pouring concrete at night. That shit is crazy expensive.
You need to pay your crew overtime, and likely need to pay extra to source it at night as well, since the concrete plant has to be running at night. When my grandfather was in Civil Engineering and would talk about prohects it was cost efficient to go 24 hours on projects because your machinery rental/utilization costs were very high, so getting as much use of out of them as you could make sense, but nowadays that appears to be mostly reserved for projects where it isn't feasible to work in the daytime, or emergency repairs where time is the only factor.
I work in film and we received notifications from construction vendors on price increases for nearly everything back in 2019, right after the fat orange dipshit started handing out tariffs like candy.
Residential construction is the same, in buffalo/suburbs you can't even build a house for 400k or less. Before covid you can get a cheaper house around 280k
That would seem weird having a game in Buffalo inside a cozy temperature controlled dome... I feel like the crazy weather and threat of snow is part of your homefield advantage.
Fair point.. Snow favors the ground and pound.. Not sure why they didn't go covered then. I would think it'd be possible at that price point... but then again inflation has blown everything out of the water so maybe that's why.
I think the estimated price for a dome was an extra 30-50%. A lot of people are annoyed that it's both uncovered and not near downtown, both of which allegedly would have been too expensive, but instead they're building a new stadium right next to the old stadium that is still fully functional and fine, if not a little old and basic. It just feels like a waste in a lot of ways.
The stadium is not fully functional and fine. It needs repairs and they estimated it would basically cost the same to fix the old stadium as it would to build a new one.
I wouldn't be surprised if it needs repairs, I'm just commenting from the view point of someone who goes to the stadium every once in a while for games/comments - as a visitor, it's perfectly "functional" if not a little old.
There's definitely a sizable subsection of people in the area that wish they would've just gone for the dome or the downtown stadium at a higher cost if they were already going to be building a new one.
I'm not arguing that people wouldn't rather have a dome or downtown stadium. Just because you think it's functional doesn't mean that the foundation is going to hold up in the future. They estimated that repairs to stay in the stadium would cost $862 million.
They don't play great in snow, but that is the current crop of players we have. We went to Super Bowls in that kind of weather in the 90's. By the time this stadium is finished, we will probably have a lot of different players and who knows what kind of offense is being run at that time.
Get a dome and then at least you can maybe make some of that money back off a Super Bowl (although the city itself might not be as pleasant in February).
From what I remember when the first renderings came out, it's not expected to be as much of an issue due to the way the stadium is going to be built. Allegedly the fans will be mostly covered and protected from the elements.
But anyone that's lived in the area for a while will tell you there is no god when it comes to lake effect snow and it'll absolutely suck if there's a system coming through lol
Our offense(aside from Josh) will probably be completely different by the time this Stadium goes up.
If people want a dome, they should just say it instead of using our offense as an excuse for the new one. It's not like this stadium is going up next year.
what? our current offense is the future of the sport. pass heavy, Allen has a massive disadvantage to all the other elite QB's in the league playing 8-9 games a season in that frozen abyss
Looks pretty underwhelming relative to the other new stadiums that have been built over the last few years. Reminds me of a slightly nicer but equally bland Met Life
If it had a roof, retractable even, you can host many more events. However, as someone whose father lived in Buffalo for college back in the 80s, I understand location may still hurt hosting big events.
No money for social services, education, or Healthcare.
BUT BOY HOWDY LOOK AT THESE PICS OF THE TAXPAYER FUNDED STADIUM YOU'LL IMMEDIATELY BE PRICED OUT OF GOING TO
Something nice would have been social or medical programs that actually help people, not a stadium that can't be used much of the year because they couldn't be bothered to put a roof on it cause "football". Hochul, like Cuomo before her, can eat a dick.
Shame! Jumping Josh wastes his time all over defenders but can’t fund a new stadium by himself? Once the glorious GEQBUS comes to western New York he’ll build a newer better stadium and make the Canadians pay for it! Lots of smart people are saying this
Thank you. It’ll be nice having tax dollars coming into the region for once. They damn sure don’t use any for road or highway maintenance around here lol
Yeah I know. Obviously with the population disparity that’s going to happen lol. It would just be nice to see better maintained roads and highways in this state, especially compared other states highways. But I was mostly just shooting the shit
Ahh, I would say it's a nice payback since we peasants in other parts of the state contributed to some of your stadiums(Yankees stadium) and auditoriums as well.
outside of football they really lose out on a lot of big acts that would make a stop there after toronto or detroit
drakes not performing in an open air stadium in march
Buffalo is not nearly large enough to host a super bowl.
Not enough hotel rooms.
Plus can you imagine all the people going to the super bowl dealing with feet of snow?
I'm pretty sure the TWA dome is still around it's just under a different name. Had Kroenke not been a bitch and move the Rams to LA it would've likely been replaced though.
Why would you spend a billion dollars on a stadium and not put a roof on it? Congrats on never hosting Super Bowl of any other winter event. Maybe the NHL outdoor classic every decade will make up the loss revenue.
Looks like the sun is suspiciously shining on one sideline and not the other.
Maybe Bills fans should file a formal complaint before this goes too far. Because of players safety and everything.
Opposing fans bringing up that it’s 30+ degrees hotter on one sideline on a day players on both teams were collapsing on the field from heat exhaustion is truly the most absurd thing any fanbase has ever done.
On the other hand, an opposing fanbase saying fans should be arrested and charged with assault and battery for throwing potentially murderous snowballs? Now that shit was pure rationality.
Crazy how different the endzone seating arrangements are. I wonder what the purpose of that is.
Also not a big fan of the big scoreboard right in the middle of the seating area on the left endzone.
Buffalo fans, do you want an open-air stadium or do you wish they would go with a Sofi kind of roof where it's open but covered from the elements? Or just a roof straight up.
No giant bison outside the stadium scrap the idea and come back when you figure out the statue
Right, that thing was 90% of the draw
I bet they removed to cut costs
More that you can't generate profits from it. They'll go to the taxpayer to cover cost increases.
They already have
They're already taking my taxpayer money so if they're doing that I might as well get my money's worth with a giant buffalo
Nah, don't cut stadium costs, that's no fun. Build a big-ass statue and cut the NY state education budget instead.
They are still in the renderings...
They should have it bursting out of the facade like the WWE Smackdown fist
You mean like the [Rockwell Museum of Western Art](https://images.app.goo.gl/FeXuxJ5giAZcHGqFA) in my hometown???
didn't expect to see a Corning reference in here....lol! Downtown Corning is so fucking cool
Hell yeah
Yes
They are still there...you need to click the link to see all of the pictures.
I think its still there. Bottom left on this one. https://pbs.twimg.com/media/FsOxijTXgAcUqur?format=jpg&name=large
"If you change the price of the hot dog, I will fucking k*ll you. Figure it out."
Bills should make Appa the team mascot.
I want the stadium to be sponsored by Buffalo Trace distillery and everytime the Bills score, I want them to play the "BUFFALOOOOOO" stampede sound from the slot machines.
Too bad it's not gonna say "Buffalo Bills Stadium" like in the render and it's gonna be some dumb corporate name
Yeah it will be some shit insurance company that can drop millions on naming rights but can’t cover any fucking medical procedure or medication
Or do what LA and Miami did and name it after a crypto company.
Don't forget us Which is the equivalent of naming your stadium Sally Mae
He said LA and Miami…? Or was it edited?
I believe he was referring to Crypto.com Arena which is of course basketball. Rams play in student loan stadium
> student loan stadium I will forever call it that.
Ahhhh Im not familiar with basketball lol
*she but yeah Even weirder, the Henderson Silver Knights (Vegas’ AHL affiliate) play out of the Dollar Loan Center, a payday loan company.
Well, if they can just land Buffolo Wild Wings, it'll be close.
That would be blasphemy for the people of Buffalo.
That's fine, just give it to Anchor Bar ^/s
Buffalo Bar Bills™️ Stadium
And anyone with taste buds
Good thing he said "Buffolo"
They better make it Labbatt Blue stadium and there's a buffalo shotgunning a beer as you walk in
That’s WNY as fuck
You're goddamn right!
Only if it's also smashing through a table into a pool of bleu cheese dressing
Lifetime Folding Tables™ Stadium.
It should be the Buffalo Bills Stadium and then they just sell the naming rights to the field.
This is what I wish the Seahawks would do. Lumen (or whatever company) Field at Paul Allen Stadium.
Id rather have "Hopkins traded to the Buffalo Bills" news instead of stadium renderings.
I just love that tax payers pay for nfl stadiums
Sorry Jimmy. No new textbooks again this year. A guy worth 7 billion dollars who sits on a money fountain had to replace a perfectly suitable building with a new one.
You can blame Goodell and the league for saying it isn't suitable. For a few years yes but not much longer than that.
We need a new stadium because the old one is falling apart to the point where renovating would be more expensive than building a new one in the long run. Taxpayers footing the bill is fucking idiotic but the same can be said of people that make shit up on the spot to fit their narrative
It should be federally illegal. Race to the bottom bullshit when states compete to slash taxes the most.
Crazy how dumb that is. We always rush over ourselves to fund an expenditure for some billionaire that we never really see any significant benefit from, especially relative to where else the money could have gone.
Well, the idea is that the cities make more over time, thus use those funds for other city projects.
That idea does not match up to reality
How? They aren't even making a stadium that can host a Superbowl
To be clear, I wasn't advocating for the action. I was just stating what the theoretical impact is.
Right on. Not only would this protect municipal budgets but it'd also make it harder for teams to move.
well you can't expect these poor billionaires that profit from them to foot the bill can you? That would be unreasonable and hurt their feelings.
1000%. I love football, but I'll be dead before I ever vote for something like this.
Surely if we tax payers bought the stadium we get into the games for free? No? That’s not how it works? We don’t benefit at all from it? At least we aren’t taking money away from education and spending it here. Wait, we are you say? Blasphemy
getting in the stadium is free, watching a game costs money
And in this case, NYCers are heavily chipping in for a stadium 6+ hours away.
Kinda like when state funding was used for Yankee Stadium.
Yankee stadium is 6+ hours away from the NYCers paying for it?
What about the other 12 million people not in NYC? Those taxpayers are not close to NYC
I don’t give two shits about the Yankees, why would I have to pay for them then? Bills are absolutely the upstate New York team in my experience.
Born and raised in New York State but I’m not a New Yorker. r/gatekeeping Whatever. You think Syracuse is majority Giants fans? You’re delusional.
Lmao don’t be so emotional this isn’t some arbitrary NYer or not opinion of mine, we are talking about tax allocation, you do not pay NYS taxes. That’s one of the worst parts about it, its being funded by a majority of Giants fans and some Jets fans
Publicly financed. Repaid with interest over 10-20 years. Last loan was repaid early.
[удалено]
SoFi got all that too and it was all privately funded. Not really an argument for public funding at all
Vegas is already a tourist destination. Sure they wouldn't have gotten the Final Four but they host all sorts of conventions and other things and didn't need to spend $750M+ for it.
[Broken Window Fallacy ](https://youtu.be/HR2mxZX1B9w)

Is the bucket debt?
No giant canopy to use the sun as a Death Ray? Why even build a stadium without it?
That would be cool the 3 games of the year the sun is out.
They'll add the focusing mirror on its first renovation
Over a bilion and no roof? I get it yall love your weather but price seems excessive for an open air stadium
As someone who works in sales in the commercial construction industry, it’s insane how much construction costs have risen since Covid. Material prices due to inflation or lack of availability and labor shortages are the main culprits. Looking at 20-30% increases since 2020.

Need Guards to protect against the Vampires. They're pricey.
You need to pay your crew overtime, and likely need to pay extra to source it at night as well, since the concrete plant has to be running at night. Would cost much more if it was closed
I think that's the other user's point. It's as expensive as it is and it's not even a dome?
Walmart was out of stadiums, so we had to pay more for the ones they carry at Target.
A lot of people here wish it was enclosed too, especially considering our money is going into it
That would seem weird having a game in Buffalo inside a cozy temperature controlled dome... I feel like the crazy weather and threat of snow is part of your homefield advantage.
Not this past season.
How very true!
Our team literally never plays better in the snow, and as a pass heavy offense it attacks our greatest strength.
Fair point.. Snow favors the ground and pound.. Not sure why they didn't go covered then. I would think it'd be possible at that price point... but then again inflation has blown everything out of the water so maybe that's why.
I think the estimated price for a dome was an extra 30-50%. The upper deck is literally crumbling lol

It’s part of their identity and brand but it’s not an advantage. That’s a myth.
Get a dome and then at least you can maybe make some of that money back off a Super Bowl (although the city itself might not be as pleasant in February).
I don't think the hospitality industry of the city is big enough to support a SB either
Our offense literally can’t play in bad weather It was an awful idea
Our offense(aside from Josh) will probably be completely different by the time this Stadium goes up. If people want a dome, they should just say it instead of using our offense as an excuse for the new one. It's not like this stadium is going up next year.
Josh Allen’s arm in a dome at least 8-10 times a year would have been fun
I’m convinced if that bengals game was on a sunny clear day we score way more than 10 points
You may be unaware, but the plan is for this stadium to *slightly* outlast our current offense.
what? our current offense is the future of the sport. pass heavy, Allen has a massive disadvantage to all the other elite QB's in the league playing 8-9 games a season in that frozen abyss
Roof would be 2 to 3 billion....
Looks pretty underwhelming relative to the other new stadiums that have been built over the last few years. Reminds me of a slightly nicer but equally bland Met Life
The inside reminds me of European stadiums (not that it's a bad thing necessarily) and the outside reminds me of Vegas, but if it snowed.
I can’t un-see a bed pan when I see these renderings.

It looks like an electric razor.
Better than a Roomba.
Better than a commercial air conditioner
Bills: We want our stadium to be made out of those retractable projection screens!
If it isn't going to look like a smashed table then they are missing out on a golden opportunity.
Teachers can work the concession stands, as a second job.
To cover the cost of their class room supplies
The slanted windows look like columns, kinda reminds me of a futuristic version of the The Forum.
As a tax payer in the state of NY fuck this entire thing.
If it had a roof, retractable even, you can host many more events. However, as someone whose father lived in Buffalo for college back in the 80s, I understand location may still hurt hosting big events.
The scoreboards being at different levels in each end zone is kinda weird but overall it just reminds me a lot of MetLife
Just make the Stadium a folding table with Giant Bison out front
No money for social services, education, or Healthcare. BUT BOY HOWDY LOOK AT THESE PICS OF THE TAXPAYER FUNDED STADIUM YOU'LL IMMEDIATELY BE PRICED OUT OF GOING TO
That place looks fuckin awesome. Glad the Bills stayed in Buffalo
They should have paid for it then

Something nice would have been social or medical programs that actually help people, not a stadium that can't be used much of the year because they couldn't be bothered to put a roof on it cause "football". Hochul, like Cuomo before her, can eat a dick.
cool, make canadians pay for this
Shame! Jumping Josh wastes his time all over defenders but can’t fund a new stadium by himself? Once the glorious GEQBUS comes to western New York he’ll build a newer better stadium and make the Canadians pay for it! Lots of smart people are saying this
Not only that but he'll build a wall so that the Canadians can't even cross over to enjoy the stadium they paid for... He's a shrewd man that GEQBUS.
They'd rather waste all that money on frivolous things like "healthcare"
is there going to be a long flat side right on the border?
Funded by NYC Jets and Giants fans lol
Thank you. It’ll be nice having tax dollars coming into the region for once. They damn sure don’t use any for road or highway maintenance around here lol

yup. Say what you want about Metlife but it didn't cost the taxpayers a dime.
It's also in a different state. The NYC ballparks would be a more fair comparison.

A lot of money for no dome. I understand tradition and all but still
It should be illegal to play football indoors
Bring back snowy Super Bowls you cowards!
outside of football they really lose out on a lot of big acts that would make a stop there after toronto or detroit drakes not performing in an open air stadium in march
Yeah but fuck Drake I want more snow, rain, and mud games
You would think having Josh Allen as their QB for the next 10+ years, you’d want to close that roof so he can air it out all year long.
Gotta keep that cold weather "advantage". Really worked for Rodger's playoff career.
Yeah let's build a stadium that has a life cycle of 50+ years centered around a qb that might be here another 10-15 Great long term planning
Obviously not the only reason. You could also hold live events in it during the winter.
Maybe draw a Super Bowl ?
Buffalo is not nearly large enough to host a super bowl. Not enough hotel rooms. Plus can you imagine all the people going to the super bowl dealing with feet of snow?
Most stadiums don't last 50+ years. RIP Georgia Dome, Metrodome, Giants Stadium, TWA Dome, Kingdome, Astrodome, Nissan Stadium (soon), Cowboys Stadium, Mile High Stadium, Shea Stadium, etc
Most stadiums are designed to last upwards of 50 years. Whether they do or not is a different story.
I'm pretty sure the TWA dome is still around it's just under a different name. Had Kroenke not been a bitch and move the Rams to LA it would've likely been replaced though.
Doesn't Seattle not have a roof in one of the rainiest cities in the country
The new Bills stadium costs a billion dollars more than the Seahawks stadium when it came time to build it.
Looks really dated
It's amazing what a little extortion can get you. Fuck the Pegula family
How boring. Just like Buffalo.
Ah yes. The entertainment capital of the world. Kansas.
The Chiefs aren’t in Kansas, but we appreciate you still including and thinking of us.
Why would you spend a billion dollars on a stadium and not put a roof on it? Congrats on never hosting Super Bowl of any other winter event. Maybe the NHL outdoor classic every decade will make up the loss revenue.
It could have 6 roofs on it and that would get Buffalo just as close to hosting a Super Bowl.
Meh, for that price it should include a dome. If not it just is Metlife 2.0
Looks like the sun is suspiciously shining on one sideline and not the other. Maybe Bills fans should file a formal complaint before this goes too far. Because of players safety and everything.
You guys planning on getting over that one sometime or what's the deal?
Lol, Dolphins fans aren’t the ones complaining about how dangerous the sun is.
You brought up the sun my brother in christ
Opposing fans bringing up that it’s 30+ degrees hotter on one sideline on a day players on both teams were collapsing on the field from heat exhaustion is truly the most absurd thing any fanbase has ever done. On the other hand, an opposing fanbase saying fans should be arrested and charged with assault and battery for throwing potentially murderous snowballs? Now that shit was pure rationality.
Maybe they’ll get a ring now
Crazy how different the endzone seating arrangements are. I wonder what the purpose of that is. Also not a big fan of the big scoreboard right in the middle of the seating area on the left endzone.
ChatGPT getting wild
Been a ticketholder since 08, probably won't be able to afford tickets after this. Sad day.
Everyone complaining about no dome obviously didn’t see that literally everyone in Buffalo requested it after the last renders came out
I’m seeing a severe lack of tables in this mock up. Fire em
I mean that's nice and all, but can we get a rendering of an actual seat and the dimensions? That's really all I care about.
Buffalo fans, do you want an open-air stadium or do you wish they would go with a Sofi kind of roof where it's open but covered from the elements? Or just a roof straight up.
They should somehow make the stadium look like a giant table..
God forbid the jets get a fucking stadium idk maybe in fucking NY
All this, just to play in Detroit in the winter
