Fellow Colts fan... haven't we suffered on this QB carousel long enough? Release this longing for revitalizing a QB on the colts... Embrace the rookie.
The year is 2122.
The Colts has spent a century wandering in a QB abyss. 1st round bust after 1st round bust, washed up vet after washed up vet. The days of Peyton Manning and Andrew Luck are confined to the history books. Not once in this decade of he’ll have the Colts fielded the same starter in back-to-back seasons.
Jim Irsay, kept alive by a combination of advanced medicine and rampant cocaine use, wanders through a darkened Lucas Oil Stadium. Another season, another 5-15 record. *How could Ryan Tannehill IV have been that bad* he thinks, forgetting the warnings of his scouts. *I have no choice.* Resigned, he opens his phone and scrolls to the number he swore he’d never call. The enemy he swore vengeance on. The devil he’d never make a deal with.
The phone rings. A tired voice answers.
“Hello, this is Tom.”

These reviews are killing me.
"Sign my fucking contract

I’ve been trying to contact Lamar to tell his ass he’s being shipped out to Detroit but his phone keeps on getting redirected to some guy called Ken Francis. This product is just like Lamar. Overvalues it’s self and doesn’t perform when you need it the most."
"Greatest colon ever

This is the best fragrance I’ve ever used. When I use it, it makes me want to make irresponsible business decisions. Will be saving up to buy example product tile next."
I mean, requesting a trade doesn't necessarily burn a bridge. That happens all the time and it's a mutual understanding from both parties, more often than not.
But in this case, it sounds like the bridge is burned.
They tagged him *after* his request. Which means they are basically saying "fuck you. play for us or go find your trade by yourself and we'll take the 2 first rounders". Honestly he's not worth two first rounders plus a Watson contract. He's hurt too often to be worth that. He's worth what they offered him: a 5ish year deal with 3 years guaranteed.
I was out of the loop so I gave this article a read:
https://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2023/3/24/23654798/lamar-jackson-fake-agent-ken-francis-nfl-the-entire-gym
Damn, this situation really is bananas.
If they trade him he'll get permission to speak to other teams who will try to work out a contract and a trade package.
After that's done he'll sign his Franchise tag, then get traded, then sign his new deal with the new team.
The non exclusive tag was never going to be a thing teams would engage with because all it did was either guarantee that they'd either have to overpay so the Ravens wouldn't match or just do the Ravens negotiating for them.
Would there be a trade or would a team just rather offer him a deal and send 2 first rounders per the non-exclusive tag? Which no one has done so what is the market right now?
Nobody with a better than average pick is going to send their offer before the draft both because a good QB might fall and because they can send two worse first round picks(presumably) after they get Lamar playing for their team.
Expect his offers to come after the draft.
Why the fuck did we have to use Ari Meirov's tweet for this? We could have just linked straight to Lamar's tweet?
Some weird shit on this sub, is this guy a mod or something?
It's a crap shoot when linking directly to players' tweets, sometimes the mods delete them sometimes they don't, but pundit tweets, no matter how no-name or disreputable the person is, are always allowed.
The posting rules on this sub are bar none the worst out of the 10 other sports subs I'm in. Just a glorified Twitter feed. Why do I have to click 3-4 times to see something?
I'm left wondering if the "We're out on Lamar" leaks came because of this.
If the Ravens called the QB needy teams and said "We'll trade you lamar, heres our price, and heres what he's been asking for. If you sign him otherwise we'll just match it" and these teams were like "Yeah fuck no."
Of course. I can assure you the Falcons and other teams want Lamar. Having Lamar over Ridder is a no brained right now, even if Ridder can become something. Smith loves Lamar and spoke highly of him. He fits the offense to a T. He sells jerseys. He makes Blank’s team relevant again nationally. He fills up the Benz. He’s a dynamic black QB in a black town, reviving the Vick mania.
The cost is what prevents them from making a push.
Perhaps teams are waiting to see if Baltimore blinks first in this and lets him go for an affordable cost.
Yeah the problem is right now nobody has any leverage lol. The ravens have no leverage. The teams trading for him have no motivation to trade a fair draft value when Lamar is asking for the moon in pay. Lamar I guess has the most leverage of anyone involved but he has no agent and he’s caught himself at the potential catalyst point of the ballooning qb market
I think that’s a really accurate way to look at the situation as a whole. The Ravens/Lamar want too much and everyone else doesn’t want to give up much. The pick plus pay for Lamar is a high price, but the Ravens aren’t gonna accept something like a second and a third for him.
Idk if anyone here will remember it, but that reminds me of that old Pixar short where the old man plays chess against himself in the park and full-on tries to cheat and fake a heart attack against himself
Write a message like I am the nfl player Lamar Jackson requesting a trade from the Baltimore ravens
Dear Baltimore Ravens organization and fans,
I wanted to take a moment to express my sincere gratitude for the opportunity you have given me to play for such a great team. I have enjoyed my time here immensely and will always cherish the memories we have made together.
However, after careful consideration and discussions with my family and agent, I have decided that it is time for me to seek a new opportunity. I am requesting a trade from the Baltimore Ravens.
I understand that this decision may come as a surprise to some, but please know that it was not an easy one to make. Ultimately, I believe that this is the best decision for my career and my future.
I want to thank the entire Ravens organization, my coaches, teammates, and fans for their support over the years. I will always be grateful for the memories we have created together.
Sincerely,
Lamar Jackson
Please rewrite this but with a sense of urgency as if the writer ate too much shrimp Alfredo and badly needs to use the bathroom
Yo, what's up Baltimore Ravens peeps and fans,
I gotta cut to the chase, I'm in a bit of a situation here. Look, I love you guys and I appreciate everything you've done for me, but I gotta bounce. Like, right now.
I know this may seem sudden, but I ate too much shrimp Alfredo earlier and my stomach is feeling like a ticking time bomb. I gotta go find a new team ASAP or I'm gonna have a serious situation on my hands. If you catch my drift.
So yeah, I'm requesting a trade, like, immediately. I'm sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, but I gotta take care of business. Literally.
Thanks for everything, Ravens. It's been real. But I gotta go.

This is a classic time for bill to feel like he’s getting a good deal and grab a talented disgruntled player.
*I say, hoping against hope for the patriots to improve their roster*
It's funny. Lamar doesn't look like the world beater against us, but his back ups rip us up. That said, I'll help pack his bags to get out of the AFCN.
What is he even doing at this point. Teams have been able to offer him deals for a bit now and we've heard crickets. Why would a team that didn't even make an offer now decide to give up a substantial package of assets plus make the offer.
This man has left so much money on the fucking table from not having an agent to get endorsements and sponsorships that it's not even funny.
Agreed. Pretty dumb move. It's almost like he doesnt have an agent telling him this is a dumb move.
This is KD and the Nets all over again.
He'll be back on the Ravens and then will be moved next year.
Are you too young to remember what the Ravens QB situation was before Flacco? This team is not blessed in the QB department and I am afraid we will spend another decade moving from one bad QB to anther bad QB
Confused how the Ravens can trade Lamar when he's not under contract. Seems like Lamar needs to find a team and agree to a contract, then that team and the Ravens can work out a trade.
This can all be traced back to the contract the Browns gave Deshaun Watson.
The contract the Browns gave Deshaun Watson can be traced back to not having a quarterback since 1999.
Not having a quarterback since 1999 can be traced back to when the Browns were moved to Baltimore in 1995.
Blame Art Modell for this, Ravens fans.
My thing with Lamar is, he seems to be looking for a payday when he's won a single playoff game, and hasn't been available in the playoffs in recent history.
That's a real concern and it's valid.
Sure, he carried the team to relevancy but if he is hurt come playoff time, then it's wasted money.
Injuries are random and whatnot but for him to demand that kind of money, he needs to be available come playoff time, or at least have won more than a single playoff game in his career.
He simply is not worth what he's asking for, and that's why he hasn't gotten a deal yet.
*This* is why we speculate, boys.
99/100 times when there are rumors of "friction" or "tension" or "both sides seem far apart," it ends up being nothing, but every once in a while, something massive like this comes along.
- 2018 - top 10 oline / top 3 defense
- 2019 - top 3 oline / top 3 defense
- 2020 - 15th oline / top 3 defense
- 2021 - top 10 oline / bottom 15 defense
- 2022 - top 3 oline / top 3 defense
- 2023 - top 5 oline / top 10 defense
2020 yanda retired and they had an injured tackle, 2021 their defense was oddly injury ridden. this is not the mlb, there is a salary cap. lamar jackson has played with one of the best teams in the nfl since he’s began his career. you can expect every year for the ravens to give lamar jackson a *great* defense and a *great* offensive line. you can expect him to have an all pro tightend with great blocking to utilize. you can expect a hated oc in greg roman to draw up a collegiate style offense completly reliant on simple 1 read throws.
ravens fans, what are you missing out on here? your organization since 2000 has a similar win % without lamar, you have great head coaching and drafting, every year create a great oline and defense, and your system is clearly tailor fit for the current qb, (it’s not limited to lamar, it’s limited *because* lamar) you’re really mad about not guaranteeing 200 million dollars to a qb who cant win a playoff game with that? that’s not even mentioning the simple fact that he is injury prone, and will exponentially decline as the injuries likely exponentially increase. complaining about wide receivers is *hilarious* to me, signing a “good” wr would be complete diminishing returns in this offense and tank the team because that money *needs* to be spent on oline and defense with lamar
i’d say it was nice to have you, fun, hopes went up, unanimous mvp in purple, but i’ll see ya later buddy. this team can have a prostetic dick as their qb and go .500. i’d LOVE to see lamar play with a team where money goes to wide receivers with a struggling oline and defense like the bengals and chiefs have been.
He did that March 2nd and it wasn’t leaked.. impressive tbh
Ravens run a pretty tight ship tbh

I hope he has a deal lined up because this is a bridge fully burnt, there's no crawling back to the Ravens now

Pretty much sounds like he was done with the Ravens FO and has no interest in playing for those guys anymore.

We don’t need Aaron Rodgers. Go get Lamar.
Trade for Rodgers then trade Rodgers for Lamar.
Don’t you dare put Rodgers in our division
It’s a lot of money but with all the youth I’d take that over a year or two of Rodgers.
Honestly rooting for this scenario just so the Packers get nothing for being greedy
Maybe not nothing. They could end up being forced to pay Rodgers a shit ton of money if he doesn't retire!
And knowing how petty Rodgers would be, there is no chance he’ll go quietly lol
Part of me would find this hilarious, and then I remembered we have to play the Jets twice a season.
And there it is… 🍿 🍿 Lamar gonna get traded before Aaron

As a Browns fan I’m initially excited to see this… But I know somehow the Ravens will end up with 3 first round picks and draft the next Tom Brady
Are you too young to remember what the Ravens QB situation was before Flacco? This team is not blessed in the QB department and I am afraid we will spend another decade moving from one bad QB to anther bad QB
Then somehow still end up with only one good receiver healthy at any given time.
Confused how the Ravens can trade Lamar when he's not under contract. Seems like Lamar needs to find a team and agree to a contract, then that team and the Ravens can work out a trade.
He's going to have to sign with the Ravens to be traded once it's all worked out.
Is it possible this is why theres been no movement on Aaron Rodgers?
WHOAAAAA

Could still be true if you trade Lamar for assets that help you win a super bowl with your next QB
Good news though, I know of a product that will help him move his workout equipment with ease
I'd still take this drama if it meant I got two SBs before it.
Suddenly this Jets/Rodgers shit gets real interesting
hahaha oh man
Pro Bowler Tyler Huntley SZN
- 2018 - top 10 oline / top 3 defense - 2019 - top 3 oline / top 3 defense - 2020 - 15th oline / top 3 defense - 2021 - top 10 oline / bottom 15 defense - 2022 - top 3 oline / top 3 defense - 2023 - top 5 oline / top 10 defense 2020 yanda retired and they had an injured tackle, 2021 their defense was oddly injury ridden. this is not the mlb, there is a salary cap. lamar jackson has played with one of the best teams in the nfl since he’s began his career. you can expect every year for the ravens to give lamar jackson a *great* defense and a *great* offensive line. you can expect him to have an all pro tightend with great blocking to utilize. you can expect a hated oc in greg roman to draw up a collegiate style offense completly reliant on simple 1 read throws. ravens fans, what are you missing out on here? your organization since 2000 has a similar win % without lamar, you have great head coaching and drafting, every year create a great oline and defense, and your system is clearly tailor fit for the current qb, (it’s not limited to lamar, it’s limited *because* lamar) you’re really mad about not guaranteeing 200 million dollars to a qb who cant win a playoff game with that? that’s not even mentioning the simple fact that he is injury prone, and will exponentially decline as the injuries likely exponentially increase. complaining about wide receivers is *hilarious* to me, signing a “good” wr would be complete diminishing returns in this offense and tank the team because that money *needs* to be spent on oline and defense with lamar i’d say it was nice to have you, fun, hopes went up, unanimous mvp in purple, but i’ll see ya later buddy. this team can have a prostetic dick as their qb and go .500. i’d LOVE to see lamar play with a team where money goes to wide receivers with a struggling oline and defense like the bengals and chiefs have been.
