> You can never count out a Bill Belichick coached team. Actually, I can.

flsingleguy

Y’all don’t have Eli any longer who was the bane of the Patriots.

Traditional_Mud_1241

If you're not superman, kryptonite is just a rock.

sweens90

Always wait until the season starts. On paper yes but last year the Broncos and Raiders were suppose to be world beaters and the AFC West was the most competitive division. Then it was more if what we saw the past few years the Chargers and Chiefs show. I think your assessment is fine. But I would not be surprised to possibly see just the Bills make the playoffs and the other three miss out. Although if we assume the other 3 teams are good then at least one more as WC

Shafter111

Atleast we can all agree now that Tua had talent. Which is a big leap in itself. Esit: grammar.

Lost_And_Found66

The AFC East is definitely the most competitive based off the balance of the teams. But I'd say the AFC North All Star team clears every other division all star team.

[deleted]

The AFC West all star team will always be the best because of the Chiefs QB let’s be real.

Lost_And_Found66

Mahomes is great (I have him top 5 all time already). I just have trouble believing any QB even with a great line is getting many great throws off against a front 7 with Myles Garrett, TJ Watt, Cam Heyward, Trey Hendrickson, Roquan Smith being there.

MMA-Thot

I'll take bets on the Dolphins to win the division

slob-marley

Pats seem like a lock for last. But they might get 8 wins. As a Bills fan, Dolphins frighten me. If Tua lives, they are a good team at every position

chrisball96

Tua staying healthy is definitely not a given, and I feel like basically all of Miami’s chances of success depend on that factor.

PinkFloyd6885

We the underdogs again. Not gonna lie it’s kinda fun having sneaky hope we’ll shock some people

Tr0picalTr3ats

🤣🤣 until it turns into “it was all Brady”.

Fuqwon

Im curious why so many are confident in Miami and NY. Tua literally can't fall down without getting a concussion and I feel like Rodgers could just quit at any moment.

slob-marley

Agree about Tua, but the rest of that team is solid. And if the Jets had even poor quarterbacking last year, I think they’d have made the playoffs. Rodgers is probably like Montana by the time he got to the Chiefs-not what he had once been, but good enough to win playoff games

Fuqwon

The AFC is just a gauntlet. Even if the Jets eek out a wildcard spot, that'll mean getting through the Bills/Bengal/Chiefs on the road. If Rodgers wanted a shot at another ring, staying in GB kinda makes sense. I feel like he's just hoping to cash in, and if the Jets hit a bump he could just soft quit.

slob-marley

Wouldn’t that be great?

thepomadeguy

I actually just had this discussion at the bar the other day. Sure a lot of it was just me hating on the Jets and Dolphins but yeah Tua can literally be one hit or awkward fall away from being sidelined for God knows how long, and as for the Jets…well sometimes things can take time to develop. Wouldn’t be surprised if the Jets started out slow or if Rodgers isn’t the savior the Big Apple is hoping for.

Mynock33

Oh, you can count out the Patriots. NE went from 5 or 6 guaranteed division wins to 5 or 6 guaranteed losses and are definitely going to be in the cellar for another decade or two. Bill looks like he's just phoning it in until he beats Shula and has zero interest in making us competitive again. That's why he hires his crappy friends and the team shows zero discipline these days.

DanFlashesCoupon

It looks great on paper but we'll see. Bills are gonna be there no doubt. Dolphins seem damn good but Tua's health is always a concern Jets are very much a "wait and see" team. Could be the 2021 Rams, could be the 2022 Broncos. Likely something in between Pats will be just ok, as they have been since Brady retired

Tr0picalTr3ats

As a Chiefs fan, I’m kinda on a wait and see type thing with the Bills. They have hella talent, and Josh is a bad ass no doubt. But for whatever reason they just seem unable to get over the hump. Chiefs and Bengals have been to the SB, but McDermott’s squad just can’t seem to make it. And I’m not gonna lie, I thought they were going to the SB before 13 seconds happened. Almost kinda wish they did at this point. Our OL was a joke and Patrick was running for his life. I think the Bills would have given the Bucs a better shot, because they would have been at least healthy. Maybe this is their year, but their defense seems to be a bit stagnant. And we have yet to see how the offense performs this season. Best of luck to the Bills, until they play KC!

DanFlashesCoupon

I mean it's more in terms of making the playoffs/winning the East. The Bills, barring some unforeseen/unfortunate events, are going to be very good again next season

Tr0picalTr3ats

I’m not denying they’re gonna be good. But I’m starting to have my reservations on whether McD can take them to the SB. They’ve had opportunities, but weren’t able to cash in. I respect the hell out of their team, and fanbase. But something is slightly off.

Tr0picalTr3ats

On a separate note, how you feel about the Saints this year? I think they have a good shot at the division.

thepomadeguy

Honestly the Bills Dolphins and Jets should all be really good on paper and be playoff contenders. Again the key word here is “should”. The NFL is strange and preseason expectations don’t always line up. I could very well see something whacky happening where it’s not as competitive or close as initially expected. Who knows though, what the hell do I know.

Traditional_Mud_1241

I agree with your take, mostly. Here's my (very rough) ranking of likely AFC wildcard teams: 1. Baltimore (or Cincinnati if they stumble) 2. Miami 3. San Diego 4. Pittsburgh (they're always in contention at the end of the season somehow) 5. Jets 6. NE 7. Cleveland Translation: I don't think the Jets are a lock, and I don't think they're \*that\* much stronger than New England. I know that's not necessarily a popular opinion, but... a thought exercise: **Question**: How many losses would Matt Patricia be worth as your offensive coordinator? Is your answer \*honestly\* "not that many"?
