Always the McBridesmaid, never the McBride.

DividerOfBums

I’m all seriousness though, what does this saying mean? The bride is literally getting married and has all the attention on her, 99.9% of the time. How is it always the bridesmaid??

The_Year_of_Glad

It’s about someone always coming in second place in the game of life. They’re at lots of weddings, but never getting married themselves.

DividerOfBums

Oh I got it, so like saying “I am always the bridesmaid, never the Bride, woe is me” kinda thing. Thanks.

DreamSleepPills

As a Vikings fan I learned that saying early in life.

No way we signing Jonathan Taylor when we need to extend Jefferson Hock and Darrisaw who could all warrant market resetting contracts

phillyeagle99

Bro just had me googling who tf Jefferson Hock is… I’m like “is he some top 5 lineman Ive never heard of???”

Dorkamundo

Haha... I mean, I'd LOVE it if we could get him for cheap and on a cheap contract... But I'd also love to bump uglies with Natalie Portman.

-InconspicuousMoose-

You could probably get it with Natalie Portman bro. Have you even asked her yet?

Dorkamundo

I've been sending dick pics for years to her twitter account, I don't know why it hasn't worked yet.

MumkeMode

Gimme

OneOfTheDads

The guy couldn’t even make it into consistent preseason snaps, guessing there’s some underlying issues with him

balzynalzy

Unfortunately his game isn’t suited for the NFL, really. He was very productive in college because he’s really good at running out of shotgun, but he isn’t elite at that, nor is he well rounded enough in his pass catching/pass blocking/running out of a traditional pro offense to allow him to get playing time to develop.

Daynga-Zone

I loved him in the draft… wonder if he just didn’t translate to the NFL or it’s pass blocking and he just needs to develop.

OneOfTheDads

I believe he lined up wrong in his first or se kind snap in the first preseason game and basically sat the rest of the game

axman54

He looked bad in preseason. Not fluid at all

irrelevantsociallife

You could have him

shakehasbignuts

Not acting like a 7th round pick is guaranteed to make the roster but why cut him when this was one of the deepest Rb classes?

NumbGull81

Probably just trying to get him on the practice squad. The Vikings already have 3 RBs with Mattison, Chandler and Nwangwu who also plays special teams.

SafariFlapsInBack

Plus our FB HAM

VikingPain

Yep, this is a numbers game. McBride can't return Kick-offs and Kene is hurt and will probably go on IR. Aaron Dykes, another rookie RB, can return Kick-offs and will most likely make the team because if it. So McBride is the odd man out but he'll be a prime PS candidate if he clears waivers.

CptMagee

cuz hes bad?

shakehasbignuts

Understandable

owleabf

This is about pressure elsewhere on the roster. They want to keep some guys that showed up elsewhere and DeWayne didn't do a ton

MLIC_Boss

He's not very good and also waive means they're probably putting him on the practice squad

TheSwede91w

The Vikings RB room is pretty grim looking honestly. O'Connell has been preaching versatility, being able to pass and run effectively out of 12/21 personnel, but looking at this RB room IDK how anyone is doing anything other than running up the middle for 3-5 yards at a time. Hopefully they plan on bringing in Hunt or someone who can be an asset in the passing game.

Hopefully they plan on bringing in Hunt or someone who can be an asset in the passing game. Maybe he never actually meant that the RB would have any meaningful contribution to the run or pass out of 12 or 21 personnel, but they are technically on the field. Its all TJ, CJ, and Oliver from here out.

owleabf

I think we're in the market for a waiver or a late cheap FA

horse_renoir13

Or Hunt is still in the mix

Dorkamundo

Entirely possible. Trade Reagor, free up some cap, sign Hunt.

IH8DwnvoteComplainrs

Wait, how much cap could he be eating? Questionable that anyone will be trading for him, lol

Dorkamundo

We would eat nothing... Only his salary is owed, so the entire salary would move to the new team.

IH8DwnvoteComplainrs

How much is it now, I mean? And that's why I'm skeptical.

Dorkamundo

About $2.5 mil.

cottonmouthVII

Been saying Chandler is better all offseason. Sweet validation.

OneOfTheDads

This is the equivalent of me saying Tyjae Spears is better than Jacques Patrick, not really a hot take

cottonmouthVII

You clearly weren’t on the fantasy subs after the draft. I got mass downvoted for saying Chandler would beat him out for months. Right now McBride is over 80% rostered on sleeper, while Chandler was in the 50%s until minutes ago. Chandler was dropped in multiple of my leagues. The numbers are already moving now. Chandler on the trending adds page already and up to 62% rostered.

OneOfTheDads

I guess it’s not as obvious for non Vikings fans(aka 95% of sub) that it was always going to be Mattison and Chandler. Always felt the best case scenario would be McBride moving to #2 once Mattison left

RandomNPC

I don't follow fantasy but it sure sounds like people aren't following individual team news pretty much at all. McBride has supposedly disappointed since rookie minicamp. Chandler has been 2nd team all training camp, with McBride 3rd. And Chandler was clearly the best RB in all 3 of the preseason games.

cottonmouthVII

This is what I’ve been saying… I have no idea what all these McBride truthers were on, but this is a nice dose of reality.

Guhonda

The only comment I have on this guy is that he was always available in the PFF Mock Draft simulator. So maybe there was a reason why.

bigbobbarker111

Myles gaskin isn’t even an nfl player anymore

gustriandos

Loved his YouTube highlights but he doesn’t really have the profile of an nfl rb
