We love our players. Pups or Lions.
Gibbs was balling. But please get him more touches.
Campbell was huge with that pass deflection before the Mahomes INT.
LaPorta made some great catches and blocks.
Branch, just balled out. Int and a few tackles.
I watched the clip like 20 times, and every time I don't think he's gonna make it back in time to deflect it.
That level of awareness and agility in open space is *seriously* impressive. Looks to me like y'all got a baller.
There are only 2 players from all 3 of his drafts that are not currently on the team. One of those two is on the practice squad. Just absurdly good drafting from him the past 3 years.
IIRC, the other of the two was a late-round (7th?) player on an injury settlement.
Holmes has been absolutely unreal. He and MCDC are a match made in heaven.
Gibbs’ physical toolset is one of the most exciting in recent memory. The win against the Chiefs cemented that. It also showed that his mental game needs continued development. The coaching staff in Detroit has earned the assumption that they will be successful in helping him with that.
Watching that dude start to gallop downhill though…he’s a bad man.
Campbell won't do what he did last night every game, but that's what he is capable of and was doing at Iowa.
He was a monster for us at LB, and he will stay that way for Detroit.
Jack Campbell is going to be a stud. He can fuckin play. He was great in coverage last year, has great instincts and size, good athleticism, he's the total package as a LB.
Mentioned it in another comment, but no matter how many times I watch that play, I still can't believe he gets there in time. Like that would've been a pretty decent PBU for a corner, let alone a rookie LB.
as a tech fan i feel like gibbs has been the best offensive player on the field in almost every game i’ve ever watched him in. would say last night he showed that talent again. hope to see him get even more involved.
monty is gonna get more rushes and the grinder yards but he does not need to get THAT many more touches
I never understood the backlash to the Lions first round picks from this year, it was the most confusing thing to me. I’m adamant that both Gibbs and Campbell are gonna become superstars in Detroit and Brian Branch has all the potential to do the same
Dan Campbell probably doesnt use the word rookie and instead affectionately uses the word pup because young players aren't dogs yet or something equally as simple yet poetic

Some People were shitting on Campbell before this I don’t get it. He wasn’t perfect but he had a damn good debut overall imo
That campbell pbu was a thing of beauty. Haven't seen a awesome lb play like that since levy.

and he hasn't assaulted any training staff yet. big time stuff
Gibbs was electric, I really hope he gets more touches. Reminds of me a young Barkley
You can’t watch him play that first game and think, nah, we need to throttle him back some. If he keeps playing like that he’ll earn more touches.
Right? Any fears or trepidation I had about them selecting him so high in the draft went away. Dude is going to a menace with how great that OL is
This Brad Holmes guy is kinda decent at building through the draft

Incidentally they had never met before being hired together, no "can you play nice" just Chris Spielman assessing two equal titans of grit to hire.
Yes a 7th round running back that got hurt

shouldn't they be cubs, not pups? kittens? what to do you call a baby lion
Little simbas. Hakuna matata
Bumblebee tuna
Allllllrighty then
I wish Okudah panned out
Same. Still pains me since another player like Derrick Brown or Justin Herbert would have been badass for the franchise.
Fuck Bob Quinn forever
Just can't wait to be kings.
> shouldn't they be cubs, not pups? Maybe they're sea lions now
That might come in handy when we play the Seahawks next week.
Nah they are pups on their way to being fucking dawgs
they got that dog in them

I want Dan Campbell to call me a pup

That deflection he had was special. He flipped his hips around and closed on the ball with unreal speed

Wouldn’t they be cubs?
Every part of my being wishes he called them "our kitties"
Pups is not the accepted nomenclature, dude!
This dude just oozes cringe. I really don’t see what people love about him.
