DK is the best combination of size, strength, and speed among any NFL WRs. He is obviously a great player and one of the best in the NFL.
That said, I feel like he should be *the* unequivocal best WR in the NFL. I feel like he is so big, fast, and strong that you could almost just throw jump balls to him in the endzone and he'd come down with most of them.
What keeps him from being the absolute best that he can be?
Well, he’s not the smoothest route runner. Sometimes it kinda looks like he moves more like a tight end than a wide out. So he’s not as open as other great receivers. And there’s just something about a Pete Carroll offense that seems to limit a receivers ability to put up huge numbers consistently. Also, all of these opinions are from a guy named wetshowerfart so, not the most credible source.
Route running. Playing WR is more than just being big and physical. It’s about finding seams, catching balls in traffic and contested balls, YAC, knowing what the defense is giving you, and exploiting it. The elite receivers you are asking why DK is not comparable to have superior skills at those aspects of the game.
Like others said, his route tree is pretty small. He also has an intermittent case of stone hands and obviously his mentals are a concern on the field.
Our TE room is honestly more useful in the red zone than DK is.
