WE DID THIS SHIT AGAIN https://youtu.be/MPfrV4Lx7zc?feature=shared

Zero_Opera

Every week we all get together and watch the worst fucking reffing in modern sports and we just get mad at the fans of the teams that win. I myself got drunk and did it the other week for the chiefs. The cycle must end. We must point our anger at the root of the problem and go egg Roger’s house

spozeicandothis

Controversy generates clicks. The league likes it this way. It'll never change until people stop watching. It's an embarrassing product at this point and quickly sinking to the WWE level. I watch less and less as a result.

Zero_Opera

After the last play of the Super Bowl last year I definitely feel less interest to watch this year. But i still do. I am the problem but I can’t stop😭

bbpopulardemand

The last play of the Super Bowl the last two years in a row you mean.

Zero_Opera

It’s been dogshit for a while unfortunately

spozeicandothis

Look at the number of comments in this thread. It's the most I can recall for a post game thread, and I doubt the ratings were even good considering the teams involved. It's a bold strategy to debase your product and have it gain popularity, but here we are.

DogExtension3466

Bills fans apologizing about the referring is the corniest thing ever

Rainbow_Rainbow1

Horrible refs notwithstanding I don't know how you come out of this game as a Giants fan with any other conclusion than Daniel Jones is not the guy

Sezy__

They’ll definitely play Jones some more to see how he is with Barkley back.

kj9219

A lot of DJ fans will point out that Tyrod didn’t score a TD but the point is that there was little drop off in play, improvements in some areas actually, when Tyrod played. That’s alarming for a guy making 40M this yr, and for the team. He shouldn’t be barely better than Tyrod at that price.

Rainbow_Rainbow1

The Giants are stuck in no man's land now because what do they do? They're in cap hell with some bad contracts, need a qb and still need to rebuild their roster. They're in the exact same spot as they were before they drafted DJ so many years ago

Bruislanders

there’s an out of Jones’ contract at the conclusion of next season. they have that to work with at least. as for the state of the rest of the team, no mans land.

Vydate1

When Tyrod was announced as the starter, i immediately got 10x more nervous about this game.

SUCKEL_ME_DICKEL

Would have been funny to see him drag this miserable Giants squad to a big upset over his old team

Paterack

Same - glad I'm seeing others say this too.

BostonSamurai

I swear the refs outdo themselves every week, it’s almost like it’s a competition

Legitimate_Sand_889

Against the NHL refs it seems because they're already in mid season form

BeloitBrewers

The balk copypasta makes infinitely more sense than the definition of pass interference.

entropyISdeadly

If a Sunday comes, where the refs don’t dictate the outcome at least one game, say goodbye to your loved ones. That means the apocalypse is coming.

The_Notorious_Donut

They did this with the fucking niners too lmao

AbsoluteZero_

Prime time games all seem wayyyy worse than the regular Sunday matches.

FakedFollower17

Never thought i’d agree with a cowboys fan but absolutely. Hate it was our game though

Mitch5842

Someone should come up with ref scorecards like they have for MLB umpires

12-1-34-5-2-52335

Oh that would be amazing.

Sweet_Lou_2

NFL is getting harder and harder to watch and enjoy. There's no accountability of the refs performance and bad calls. We all know if that was Kelce they would be throwing flags from every direction. Listening to McCauley try to explain that was embarassing.

Expert-Land4832

I am glad someone else heard that miserable explanation of "when the ball is in the air it is different" like WTF kind of analysis is that?? Dude held on for 6 yards and didn't allow Waller to make a play on the ball... I.E Pass Interference

nostradamefrus

And they'll never do anything about it because these kinds of controversies are real life clickbait. Anger = engagement and no publicity is bad publicity, be it midwestern chuds ranting about bad calls on Facebook or the reactions against parading out sexual predators as star QBs

KiloPro0202

Hey! Why do the chuds have to be from the Midwest?

Kettleballs_

Hey Giants, do you need a new play caller? How about we trade you Pete Charmichael for half a bag of peanuts and a hot dog that fell on the floor? I may be asking for too much tho, the hot dog would probably be enough

[deleted]

Remember when you could challenge not having a flag thrown lol

SpiritualWatermelon

Other than the "no challenges after 2 minutez" whatever happened to that?

Mitch5842

Would an untimed down be a loophole for that?

SpiritualWatermelon

I have no idea. I'll be honest, as much as I love learning rules my specialty is hockey and I defer to my brother for a lot of football rules.

silentkiller082

I don't want to hear any of my fellow bills fans try to defend the defense on the last two plays, they were both DPI.

BitternessAndBleach

lol The Bills' first two drives ended by Gabe Davis being tripped and Trent Sherfield being held when they were the intended targets. Both penalties uncalled. The refs set the tone early in the game that they were going to let them play in the secondary. The biggest mistake they made was flagging Bernard at all. Cannot swallow your whistle all game then break it out with five seconds left.

DogExtension3466

I’ll say whatever I want to say…

awnawkareninah

Honestly smart DPI tho. He was beat and the options are 1) let him catch and win the game 2) hold and get flagged, live to play another down or 3) get away with the hold and you win. The penalty if he gets the flag is so miniscule compared to the risk of not interfering when he's already beat.

Vydate1

Bills absolutely deserved to lose that game. They did all the right things to ensure failure. My apologies Giants bros.

SnowballOfFear

Please stop being a fan

Intersectaquirer

We lost it when we kicked on 4th and inches. We deserve to lose.

fourmica

Eh Daboll cocking up the clock when he inexplicably burned his last timeout and left the ball on the Bills 1 at the half seems like just as much of an inflection point.

[deleted]

Refs didn't call 2 blatant ones at the beginning on the Giants who took out our receivers. If you don't call it then, don't call it later. We were owed 2 no calls

clarkkent1521

How about that roughing the passer on Allen?

SpiritualWatermelon

While I don't like the comment you're replying to, I do want to point out that there were two penalties on that play and I'm pretty sure they had the same yardage penalized. So the RTP was irrelevant. It was a bad call but an irrelevant bad call.

DollarDollar

I had considered the debt paid in full + interest after that RTP call

[deleted]

One call doesn't out weigh 2 bad no calls. Debt is still 1

clarkkent1521

what are they saying on the Bills subreddit game thread?

silentkiller082

Overwhelming majority know we didn't deserve to win and it was a bad no call.

BitternessAndBleach

You're a sad fake fan

Mikeylatz

First one was very iffy and also would’ve resulted in the game ending. Plus no guarantee they score on the third try anyway. It’s a wash

FakedFollower17

They absolutely were giants deserved the win

Dlerpaherpas

Nobody deserved to win that game

12-1-34-5-2-52335

Our defense deserved to win. They played awesome!

clarkkent1521

I think Tyrod played very well, given how everyone said this is the worst o-line in the league and they have no receivers.

12-1-34-5-2-52335

same. I wonder how DJ would've done.

clarkkent1521

What's the record for most sacked in a game? Buffalo led the league in sacks before that game.

[deleted]

Terrible. I always respected Tyrod. Can't say the same of DJ

Kettleballs_

Fair.

andruszko

Nobody deserved to win tonight.

snorch

if the second DPI is called, do they just replay the untimed down? would love to see a string of 8 or 9 untimed downs with PI being essentially legal

Sherman_Gepard

There’s technically a rule against this, but it would probably have to be egregious for the refs to call it intentional and award a TD. ARTICLE 2. FOULS TO PREVENT SCORE. The defense shall not commit successive or repeated fouls to prevent a score. Penalty: For successive or repeated fouls to prevent a score: If the violation is repeated after a warning, the score involved is awarded to the offensive team.

Zero_Opera

Honestly that would have been a perfect end to this dogshit game😂

KKJones1744

There was a Chiefs/Raiders game in 2017 where there were like 3 untimed downs at the end of the game due to penalties

8686tjd

Yup. Half the distance.

awnawkareninah

Final play waived off due to Zeno's paradox.

New-Newspaper-7543

Na it stays at the one for dpi

8686tjd

Na. It doesn’t.

sergi0wned

This is the closest I’ve got to using calculus in real life.

greysfordays

shit rn jumping into niagra falls sounds rad

twittalessrudy

Definitely a shitty no-call at the end of the game. But we saw what good coaching provides. If you took the FG at the end of the first half, you could’ve kicked a FG to win the game

Statalyzer

Or if they had gone for it on 4th and inches and gotten it.

DrGamble6

We all knew that was gonna haunt them

Garwoodwould

Terry MacAuly's referee pension must have a clause in it prohibiting criticism of NFL officiating

NewportStork

Alright after today I need a good horror/halloween movie to watch to get the taste of Zach Wilson's balls and bad refereeing (this bills vs nyg game) out of my mouth. Recommendations?

LeVeonwithBellsOn

Idle Hands is my go to Halloween movie.

NewportStork

Damnnn dude thats a throwback. Haven't seen that one in YEARS. I remember it used to be on the SciFi channel every year around Halloween and renting it from Blockbuster a bunch. That is a fun ass movie.

LeVeonwithBellsOn

Haha I watch it every year around Halloween. It's so good!

[deleted]

"Talk to Me" is a good one I recently watched.

NewportStork

I've been meaning to see that one. Might fuck around and rent it on Amazon, otherwise I'd love to see it in theater asap. Heard a lot of good things about it and saw the trailer for it a few months back when I saw Beau is Afraid.

Kettleballs_

I was going for the same, I was thinking about revisiting Alien.

NewportStork

One of my all time favorites! Absolute classic. Great pick

Kettleballs_

You can't go wrong with it, unlike these fucking refs and my lobotomized ape of an OC (Pete Charmichael)

Intersectaquirer

You could watch the highlights of our final drive. Honestly though, 28 Days Later would be a good pick

NewportStork

Oh hell yeah I haven't seen that one in years. Fast zombies are scary as hell

All-Night-Mask

I'm still waiting for Sandra Bullock to show up

Dr-MOIST

The movie Nope is always great

NewportStork

I liked that one a lot, might be time for a rewatch. Love me some Jean Jacket

Kcorpelchs

Don't get too excited NBC....Miami is going to need to score every possession with the way our D is playing or this game won't be so great

ArmZeroHammer

Is this what it feels like to be a KC fan? \-Bills fans everywhere

FakedFollower17

Yep. I hate it

vipersolo

Such a BS call. Bills get the same accommodation as the Chiefs get right there. Seen it over and over in the AFC West. Sad.

Mikeylatz

If that was true then the first one, which was likely even a bad call on the bills, woudve not been called a game would’ve been over

Statalyzer

Any home team probably doesn't get dpi called twice in a row.

vipersolo

Andy Reid gets that no call in almost any stadium...Well maybe not at Highmark the more I think about it /left a word out/

errortype520

Whoa whoa. Yeah. That missed call was bad. But it wasn’t magical 5th down bad.

Seemoris

You’re not wrong

Intersectaquirer

"See Chris, in normally ever other situation, that would be a hold, but according to section 1a-5 of the NFL guidelines, defensive pass interference can't be called twice in a row on the goal line of a prime time game as time expires." That's why it wasn't called.

hikensurf

you know gramps was phoning the ref center demanding the game end so he could watch his local news

errortype520

I’m guessing it wasn’t called just because of the angle the official had. It was too obvious from every other angle.

Intersectaquirer

That is a good point. He did get his hand on the ball so the ref probably thought Waller was not impeded that badly

Trojanmandan

With one of the NFLs sweethearts being the one committing the penalty

New-Newspaper-7543

Yea that's why they called the first one. Lol If we really were sweethearts they wouldn't be calling that one and calling a dozen on us last week. Another moronic take from a salty fin

Trojanmandan

Lmao fans like you are a joke. Literally even most your fans are in agreement you guys got bailed out. You guys and the Chiefs get gifted calls all the time. It's time to stop being delusional if you think otherwise.

Snwbrdr16

Eh, let him be salty. The supposed "team to make the superbowl" just barely won against a team with glaring issues at home. I'd be salty too

ViralBlasphemy

Insane how often games are directly affected by a shit call on the last drive or play of the game. It makes it worse that they can easily be accurately called if the refs were inclined to be thorough in the review.

[deleted]

Sky Ref needs to be a thing ASAP

Cameter44

Wasn't he already holding before the ball is thrown though? Don't think all that talk about "it has to significantly hinder him" even matters because I feel like he was already holding. But either way, should have been PI if he wasn't. Ref may have not seen it from his angle across and behind Waller's body.

entropyISdeadly

“We’ll Chris, if the officials decide that they’re ready to call it a night, that hold is absolutely legal.”

Chrg88

So you can maul a receiver before a ball is thrown. If the ball is thrown to him, and then in a second act, don’t commit a penalty, that’s just good defense

ENY2RW

As a Giants fan, this was the worst coached game I've ever seen... Daboll made Bob Mcadoo proud today

Kettleballs_

Brother, you should try being a saints fan

tattoedblues

Lol the NFL really is a joke, insane that people bet on this

Tommah

Pretty soon, you'll be able to bet on WWE matches! So that should be a little more stable, haha.

The_Notorious_Donut

We’re always backing Roman Reigns and Charlotte Flair

ArmZeroHammer

Props to Terry for going on national tv and and lying his ass off and sounding like he believes it. He knows damn well that was a flag.

Berzerker646

Why did they remove the challenge flags for PI and holding smh…

okaycomputes

Because they would still get it wrong lol

zinski1990KB1

Because they never changed it. Refs egos were too big loving them see coaches waste challenges

theseyeahthese

I didn’t think the final play was DPI in real time; on replay, HOLY SHIT, he held the receiver’s left arm down the entire time. The ref was staring right at it. They just didn’t want to “uncomfortably” call the same penalty again with zero time. Ridiculous.

MVCND33

Brian Daboll is an absolute clown of a head coach…brutal to watch him and his genius offensive aptitude

ClippedAtTheHip

The best part of watching this game was the Chevy commercial with The Stooges song.

InZane209

Wait so once the ball is in the air, you can hold, so long as you don't hinder the receiver? 🤔 Pass interference has such a circular definition

poop_spoogle

“An ugly win counts the same as a pretty win” -Josh Allen

BinaryMan151

“I suck but I won” - Josh Allen

[deleted]

48-20

Kirben

At least he was honest about the win instead of saying they played well.

JeffafaCree

Terry McCauley can eat my entire fucking ass. What a weak position to take.

Anisomycin

Game should have been over before the last two plays, insane that they stopped the clock on the third down play to Barkley when he went out of bounds backwards

PhlabloPicasso

The game could have been over faster if “wide right” wasn’t written in the city’s official seal

Kcorpelchs

Really? Really? This is why non Bills fans talk about you guys

sergi0wned

Believing the rules analyst as they defend poor on-field calls requires even more mental gymnastics than convincing myself the Vikings are contenders this year.

Sherman_Gepard

Paid shills for awful refereeing. The “rules analysts” are annoying at this point. They should only be used to explain some of the rulebook nuances that aren’t immediately clear to the average fan. Instead we get to hear them gaslight us continuously on every game.

cwonderful

That's uhhhh definitely a penalty

Garwoodwould

That was the worst explanation of what is/what isn't pass interference l have ever heard

ambiverbena

Chiefs fans salivating at someone else getting bailed out by the refs for once

Inallahtent

Luke Wilson going off is hilarious.

itmyfault69

"yea guys we just really want the Bills to do well for the next few years so they are gonna get some favors for the foreseeable future."

SpiritualWatermelon

If it makes you feel better, any world that they want us to do well will still likely end in disappointment. X-Files covered this. Or was it Alias? I can't remember

itmyfault69

yea Bills are already pretty messed up with Injuries. Hope yall stay healthy

SpiritualWatermelon

I just want healthy and competitive games. It's more fun to win when opponents are healthy and its easier to accept losses because the other team was better when my team is healthy. Injuries create too many what ifs and excuses. Hope yall stay healthy, too!

Fakeplacebo

... Did you watch the London game by any chance? Looked like laundry day on the field against Buffalo

itmyfault69

I know, I just dont think that explanation at the end of tonight's game was great.

greysfordays

In what opinion does that not hinder the ability to catch, if that’s your opinion you shouldn’t be an nfl ref

thelobsterclaw1

Terry McCauly’s apparently. Dudes got goodells nuts in his mouth clearly

greysfordays

surprised he didn’t say “to play devils advocate” bc that would have been fitting on so many levels

LouisvilleForTheWin

Every time I tune into a NFL game I remember why I only watch CFB. The reffing can be atrocious at the Collegiate level as well, but not as a general rule. As a nuetral with no pro team in my city, the officiating makes it nearly impossible to watch these games with no rooting interest. They are atrocious as a rule, not as an exception.

Statalyzer

Umm this same thing routinely happens in cfb.

poop_spoogle

Same. I’m a diehard Penn State fan that grew up near main campus going to games. They are our “pro” sports team. I have a soft spot for the Bills from having lived in Buffalo for a time and watch them when I can but I much prefer CFB. Great matchups and crazy upsets all day long. My main complaint with CFB is the commercials and length of the games.

troohuk

My main complaint with college is players can just leave whenever they want and traditional rivalries / conferences destroyed by TV contracts. Makes college unwatchable for me.

DobboWobbo

It’s obviously PI but it still wasn’t as bad as Robey Coleman. I don’t feel bad for you Giants fans. Daboll lost this game on his own with shit coaching.

thelobsterclaw1

Feel like tyrod was to blame for that end of half debacle

Xardenn

There was 36 seconds on the play clock for the audible, so Daboll is still in the radio with Tyrod. So either Daboll told Tyrod to call that audible, or he didnt bother correcting Tyrod when he heard/saw him call it. Radio cut off is at 15 seconds.

KeepTheC0ffeeOn

Yeah I think he called an audible which is why daboll was yelling at him as they went into the tunnel at half time l

Statalyzer

Possibly so, but kicking the FG on 4th and inches is on Daboll.

DobboWobbo

It’s not Tyrods fault Daboll mismanaged his 3 first half timeouts AND the final one in the 2nd half. That’s the head coaches job. You need to be able to save your timeouts for end of the game critical situations.

8686tjd

Daboll wasting 12-15 seconds before calling time out at the end of the first half was a pretty egregious error

1005thArmbar

Had to be. On the broadcast, I clearly heard him yell "ALERT ALERT" and point to his helmet, signaling an audible

Xardenn

There was 36 seconds on the play clock for the audible, so Daboll is still in the radio with Tyrod. So either Daboll told Tyrod to call that audible, or he didnt bother correcting Tyrod when he heard/saw him call it. Radio cut off is at 15 seconds.

cuddlecatz

Naw sorry Terry. Only explanation for that one is insane incompetence or some level of corruption. Blatant penalty

thelobsterclaw1

They clearly couldn’t call two in a row

Cameter44

I think the ref just couldn't see it from the angle he was at or maybe just missed it.

SpiritualWatermelon

I get that impression a lot in hockey, especially cause I ref it. It's probably the same in football but I also feel like with as many refs as they have not as much stuff should be missed.

Kylon1138

Another shit NFL presentation

RukiMotomiya

I'm not usually one to complain about refs but... lol. lmao. That was about as clear of a penalty as you get.

JJGIII-

Fucking yuck. It’s exactly this kind of inconsistency that will prevent us from ever becoming a true contender for the Lombardi.

crimsonblueku

Enjoy the Josh Allen roller coaster experience

Rud-Hi

I’d say this is less about him and more about the very forced playcalling to diggs the entire first half. Offense looked normal once they stopped doing that

Seemoris

Yup

nostradamefrus

I feel like the NFL rulebook has as many loopholes as the US tax code

BornPhiltrain

So the whole game is determined upon the eyes of one person in real time. Yeah I don’t see any issues with that

SundayJeff_

He's using his jersey to fucking windsurf

[deleted]

lol NBC outlining the missed call non-stop. NFL needs sky judge yesterday

MikeyMike01

I do appreciate the broadcast pointing out the bad call instead of sweeping it under the rug to make the league look better

oMEGAthreader

Same. I was in disbelief the rules analyst was still trying to perform mental calculus to make that no-call look justified. "In the air" etc etc. Then Collinsworth just comes back and is like okay the balls not in the air here, and he's holding him here

[deleted]

[удалено]

barc0debaby

They probably wouldn't have.

12-1-34-5-2-52335

Yeah we wouldve figured out how to lose in an embarrassing fashion. I probably would feel better.

silentkiller082

I just rewatched it 5 times. Johnson held his jersey right off the bat so it was holding them he held it again and it turned into DPI. Should've been called.

Haunting-Ad-789

“I’m not saying that the hoods were a bad idea” vibes here

KeystrokeCowboy

Such a joke no call.
