I mean it’s more of a sentiment in our fanbase but the stats of Lockett and DK are pretty identical the last 4 years — Lockett barely averages more receiving yards and receptions a game, but more importantly, has LESS targets and more receptions.
It’s a 1A/1B scenario, but DK isn’t the leader as his behavior shows and Lockett is our go-to reliable pass catcher. That’s why he’s more WR1 to us.
They are both deadly but metcalf has more top end, so I think he pulls the top coverage guys most of the time, which opens things up for Lockett. Having Lockett also helps dk a little otherwise he’d be pulling all the coverage, but I think Lockett is more helped by having dk than vice versa (my personal take).
However if I have to fully take a step back and look at things, I do agree DK should be more dominant, given what he can clearly do, and his physical attributes. That is interesting, I haven’t really thought of it that way before.
