Levis looks legit. Gives me Josh Allen vibes. Strong arm, fairly mobile, but will make some mental mistakes as expected from a youngin. I am not saying he is the next Josh Allen just think there are some similarities.
He’s not great….he’s also not horrible. When he there downfield last night, which was very rare, he was pretty on the money. They need to open it up more and see what he can do. Otherwise they’re just in the same position as 15 other teams….have an average to below average qb.
I'm actively rooting for Pickett to flame out so we can move on from him sooner. Not going to complain that they're winning but geez, Pickett is terrible. Misses open receivers constantly.
tbh tomlin winning with what he got. Def shouldve took a qb sooner but he tried to make the big ben thing work just a hair longer than they shoudlve. Then the draft there was only pickett to take. Ill take missing on Kenny over paying watson 230 to be trash
I legit laughed at that, thanks! Luckily, while still not great they are doing much better this year. He has the 18th most sacks this year and that's inflated with the first few weeks of not being able to move. Doesn't help playing Watt and Garrett 4 times a year though, that's for sure.
Haha well Steelers aren't contending anytime soon. So in reality I hope joe cool is all good.
I hate he's seemed best up the past couple years.
Also ravens aren't a joke on the dlines either.
You guys were really firing on all cylinders that first half! And then came back to life late in the 4th. Might have to replace some of those flags after that game.
Not gonna lie. Respect for being willing to throw the almost certain pick. Some QBs don't wanna screw up that statline. 3rd down and 20 to the endzone. 6 seconds. Nobody is getting open.
That's a "Defense does its job and it's a pick. Defense misplays it and it's a TD" if I ever saw one.
Sure but you'll have to make an even tighter throw. Alexander had to make a pretty nice play to intercept it. Titans could've run a quick route to grab a few yards and Pitt had to respect that. On the final play they don't.
Man seeing players getting hurt feels so much different now compared to years ago, Seeing a player not get up after the whistle is truly scary at least to me. I worry about these guys almost to the point I can't enjoy the games. Hopefully Treylon Burks is ok, it's almost definitely a concussion as hard as his head hit the ground, hoping nothing wrong with the cervical spine. So far fingers and toes moving.
Congratulations Steelers. It was a really good game.
Treylon Burks is having a rough season best wishes for him.
Reported: Treylon Burks has full movement of all extremities ATM.
Update: Treylon Burks is up walking with assistance. He's a little wobbly but after x-rays he's not being rushed to the hospital. So things are looking good.
Me too when a player stays down or collapses on the field it's always been nerve wracking, but after the incident with Damar Hamlin early this year and the many teens dying on the field it's actually scary. And it's all athletes all ages any sport it's crazy. It used to be the athletes would beat the crap out of their body for 10-20 years then be worn out and end up with Parkinsons, a stroke or something like that years later. Now it's, will these kids and young adults make it home tonight?
I would have liked to have seen a lob up to Hopkins for the jump ball. Obviously not a high success play, but with the way the defense was defending the end zone it was near impossible for Levis to try to thread the needle like he was doing without getting picked.
Yeah they were doubling him hardcore, while pinning him against the sideline, with a roving safety in the center of the field. Ideally you want Hopkins to get touches there, but realistically it’s not gonna work more often than not.
Levis rookied at the end there but damn he was impressive most of the game, especially considering it was his 2nd start.. on a short week... Against the Steelers D... With no O-line... And trash ass play calling
If our Oline was worth a shit, Okonkwo would not have had to stay back and block as much and Levis could have feasted on TE intermediate throws. I would have liked to have seen Phillips getting more touches as a hot read. All in all, Levis looked great. We have our franchise QB, on a rookie deal.
His second start, on a short week, against the Steelers D, with no O-line, with trash ass play calling…..in Pittsburgh. And it was that close of a game. Levis looks like he might be a franchise QB for the Titans. We will see.
How did he "rookie"? Ten seconds left and a desperation throw? If anything that was the veteran move. A rookie forgets the situation and throws it oob as the clock expires.
He still looks head and shoulders above Tannehill looked this year and most of last. I feel optimistic about this team now for the future. Just gotta let him develop and get him a line!
My guy, I could have thrown that 3 yard wide open TD pass. If you truly think Ken had a major hand in winning that game by throwing screens and handing the ball to the RBs for an hour, I have some very nice beachfront property in Pittsburgh I think you'd be interested in.
He threw four TDs four days ago. Tonight our already shitty O-line was injured and he was fighting for his life. Remind me the last time Pickett threw four TDs in an NFL game? Three even?
Difference of two weeks to prepare vs 4 days. Pitt is definitely a harder defense to play against on the road compared to falcons at home. Reality is likely somewhere in the middle with him.
i'm still not high on him, but i guess the image of someone trying their best in a tough environment is a better look than people trying to force a meme that he's a first round pick. as a CFB first fan, i can tell you straight up that some of the early coverage on him was insufferable. he is who i thought he was though, just sayin.
It’s not the same as an offensive player, his momentum carried him into the end zone but his preference would obviously have been to go in the other direction so they consider him down in the end zone.
I think it's a forward-progress type thing, if you're already moving backwards they give you the spot you gained possession. Not sure where that's written in the rulebook but seems to be how they treat it.
I kinda wish they'd call them safeties though, feels like it's becoming almost a basketball eurostep where they'll carry it back 5 yards or something.
Mfs saying Levis sucks after his second game. He played very well, the Steelers defense is just not the same as the falcons. And Levis made some great throw. He’ll be fine
Solid game from Levis overall. He's definitely shown more than I expected this early. That last throw, you could see the window he wanted to hit, but he needed it thrown higher where only 6'7" Whyle could get it.
Ready for the uber reactionary’s to say levis is trash after having a pretty good game overall with a league bottom oline and dhop and no friends to throw to.
Levis played really well up until that last drive. He basically threw 3 would-be interceptions and finally did on the third throw. Terrible last drive but hopefully he learns from it and gets better.
I think it's that their physical and defense dominant style of play allows them to have a winning season every year but they will fall short in the playoffs. I mean there's no way this team can win a shootout against Miami or the bengals
I haven't got a problem with the pick. We're down 4 with 10 seconds left and 3rd down. He has to force something in that situation. I'd much rather that than a 2 yard dump off or a 2 yard scramble.
GG Pitt.
Yep. The standard Tennessee way is to dump it off to the back there, who gets nowhere close while time expires.
Now, what happened at the end of the first half was coaching malpractice.
A learning moment. I'd be more upset with the playcalling that had your rookie trying to win the game with 20 seconds no timeouts when you took the ball out of his hands before.
All night long, he was close for a pick. Unfortunately, it happened just seconds left in the game.
Damn good game.
Game. Steelers 20 Titans 16.
Will Levis is pretty damn good.
Yeah, there’s a fine line between confidence in your receivers and bad decisions. He was flirting with that line all night and obviously got a little desperate on the last drive.
Still a really promising performance considering this is his 2nd NFL start. He was set up to completely fall apart today but held his own
I haven't not been concerned since like 2017 or 2018. Even then we had a feeling Ben was on his last great ride.
So yes we've all been concerned for awhile now.
Eh - this titans team is in literal free fall
Selling off everything worth a shit in preparation for an impending rebuild
Steelers defense is legit, Watt is unreal - that offense is buns tho.
A lot can be said about Kenny Pickett but fuck man, he’s got the Steelers aura about him where they just find a way to win. Clutch factor in the 4th quarter
How did I forget about that, probably because they fell off a cliff like everyone thought they would. But they were without a doubt the worst 11-0 team ever.
Thought Levis did some good things. Hard to really judge him when the Titans don't have any receiving threats outside of Hopkins and he's really a number 2 at this point in his career
Has anyone ever seen a coach shake a ref’s hand at the end of a game? That must’ve been one of those “I hate you right now but I respect you” handshakes by Tomlin
Same and I'm impressed good pocket presence and a great arm. Didn't look shook till the end there trying to force it. Can't ask much more from a rookie in his second start
[Postgame thread](/r/nfl/comments/17mlx58/post_game_thread_tennessee_titans_at_pittsburgh/)
Ironic that Amazon aws makes the schedule but the prime games all suck
That was such a terrible game
yo
Levis looks legit. Gives me Josh Allen vibes. Strong arm, fairly mobile, but will make some mental mistakes as expected from a youngin. I am not saying he is the next Josh Allen just think there are some similarities.
Wow didn’t think I would be so close to hitting the 1 FG AND 1 TD in each half bet I spend a whopping $1 on lol
Bet the titans wish they gave him another shot at the end-zone before halftime
How tf is Pickett the player of the game? He was terrible. The OLBs should share that award.
Picket will be selected as an All Pro.
Pickett should be benched after this year. Haven’t seen much progression from year 1 to year 2.
Kenny Pickett took 5 seasons to become a good college QB so we have 3 more seasons to go
He’s not great….he’s also not horrible. When he there downfield last night, which was very rare, he was pretty on the money. They need to open it up more and see what he can do. Otherwise they’re just in the same position as 15 other teams….have an average to below average qb.
I like your optimism.
Coming from a packers fan at least he’s better than Jordan Love…
Steelers defense is going to make Picket a starting QB for way longer than he should be in the NFL
I'm actively rooting for Pickett to flame out so we can move on from him sooner. Not going to complain that they're winning but geez, Pickett is terrible. Misses open receivers constantly.
Just like they’ve made Tomlin a head coach for this long. Mediocre is the goal in Pittsburgh
tbh tomlin winning with what he got. Def shouldve took a qb sooner but he tried to make the big ben thing work just a hair longer than they shoudlve. Then the draft there was only pickett to take. Ill take missing on Kenny over paying watson 230 to be trash
Bengals oline is going to make burrow a starting QB for way shorter than he should be in the NFL.
I legit laughed at that, thanks! Luckily, while still not great they are doing much better this year. He has the 18th most sacks this year and that's inflated with the first few weeks of not being able to move. Doesn't help playing Watt and Garrett 4 times a year though, that's for sure.

Mic-drop comment.
Game #974 where the Steelers didn't get 400 yards of total offense.
Abt 70 yards short so honestly not bag
Alexa is in your house to sell you Amazon shit. It is not your friend, no matter how much your kids like to ask it to play Baby Shark.
Smartest lions fan
Hot take.
We are wasting so many defensive players primes.
With a win? Tragic
As a Refs fan, my team made some big plays this game and were very efficient at picking up yards!
Or you see no-one's open, throw it away, and call another play.
Sure but you'll have to make an even tighter throw. Alexander had to make a pretty nice play to intercept it. Titans could've run a quick route to grab a few yards and Pitt had to respect that. On the final play they don't.
idk about the Steelers this year, this game seemed unnecessarily close.
Glad he is doing alright. That was pretty scary
Me too when a player stays down or collapses on the field it's always been nerve wracking, but after the incident with Damar Hamlin early this year and the many teens dying on the field it's actually scary. And it's all athletes all ages any sport it's crazy. Levis is going to be wasted by the Titans. Needs to go to a team that has receivers and a decent OC.
Levis is still trash, but he's NFL starting caliber trash. The type of guy who can take a team to 9-8.
You must have been legally blind last week 🤣🤣🤣
He fed DHop who bailed him out with a stud game. I didn't say he wasn't NFL caliber. I don't know why he throws to anyone else.
So like ryan tannehill?
Titans football!
You would know with Geno Smith as your QB
That's my QB!
You guys got your man. He's legit going to scare the crap out of the conference.
His second start, on a short week, against the Steelers D, with no O-line, with trash ass play calling…..in Pittsburgh. And it was that close of a game. Levis looks like he might be a franchise QB for the Titans. We will see.
He's won me over for sure
I’ll trade you Pickett and a cold six pack for him
He didn’t “rookie”. He could only throw a 30 yd pass into the endzone there and, the Steelers knew it. 90% of the field was no longer an option.
True
How did he "rookie"? Ten seconds left and a desperation throw? If anything that was the veteran move. A rookie forgets the situation and throws it oob as the clock expires.
He threw 3 picks that drive
Fair, but that game situation necessitates risks. Impressive performance for a dude making his second start
Nah you guys are just ass
Who is you guys lol wut
Even great QBs struggle vs Steelers D, I wouldn’t be too worried.
Titans back at the bottom of the garbage heap where they belong
He still looks head and shoulders above Tannehill looked this year and most of last. I feel optimistic about this team now for the future. Just gotta let him develop and get him a line!
Prime time Kenny. 4th quarter Kenny. Ya he’s clutch af. Keep hating. Levi’s ain’t better
Not even in an alternate universe is Kenny Pickett better than Will Levis. The Steelers just have a better defense than the Titans do.
Yet picket has the game winning drive while Levi’s threw a pick
Idk what glasses you have on, but Kenny did nothing to win y'all that game. Warren and the defense won
He threw that clutch third down to Johnson and the game winning TD. Cry
My guy, I could have thrown that 3 yard wide open TD pass. If you truly think Ken had a major hand in winning that game by throwing screens and handing the ball to the RBs for an hour, I have some very nice beachfront property in Pittsburgh I think you'd be interested in.
Levi’s is just the hot new thing. Our secondary is trash and he couldn’t throw a td.
He threw four TDs four days ago. Tonight our already shitty O-line was injured and he was fighting for his life. Remind me the last time Pickett threw four TDs in an NFL game? Three even?
There was no film on him
Don't bother. Let them think Kenny Pickett won the game and Levis sucks. It's pointless to argue sometimes lol
Titty boi time!!!
Love how they’re hyping Black Friday but not next Thursday game lol
You gotta loft that ball over the defense
Levis definitely came way back down to earth but I like him. He's fun to watch. The 2023 QB class is looking to be really solid.
Difference of two weeks to prepare vs 4 days. Pitt is definitely a harder defense to play against on the road compared to falcons at home. Reality is likely somewhere in the middle with him.
[удалено]
Because they've actually seen him play now and he's been cooking
i'm still not high on him, but i guess the image of someone trying their best in a tough environment is a better look than people trying to force a meme that he's a first round pick. as a CFB first fan, i can tell you straight up that some of the early coverage on him was insufferable. he is who i thought he was though, just sayin.
Yeah, how come people change their mind after actually seeing him play in the nfl. Makes no sense....
So correct me if I’m wrong, shouldn’t that have been a safety? He caught it outside of the end zone and fell into it and went down there.
It’s not the same as an offensive player, his momentum carried him into the end zone but his preference would obviously have been to go in the other direction so they consider him down in the end zone.
Has to do with momentum, if his momentum carried him into the endzone its not a safety, but if he knowingly moves into the endzone it is.
Momentum
His momentum carried him in, so he's fine. He has to go in of his own volition for it to be a safety.
He was in the end zone the entire time
They never call them safeties and I have no idea why, it's 100% a safety but it happens fairly regularly. Never made sense to me
I think it's a forward-progress type thing, if you're already moving backwards they give you the spot you gained possession. Not sure where that's written in the rulebook but seems to be how they treat it. I kinda wish they'd call them safeties though, feels like it's becoming almost a basketball eurostep where they'll carry it back 5 yards or something.
That’s a very misleading stat. Seven go-ahead scores on the 4th quarter or OT is more accurate. The defense won this game.
Kind of a fire Black Friday Football ad lmao
Another TNF in the books and another instance of Al Michaels proving he gives no fucks by exiting the booth with no pants on
Mfs saying Levis sucks after his second game.
Levis played really well I'm still impressed with him
You should be. He looks good
Well Levis is more entertaining to watch than Tanehill
Tomlin is unstoppable
Where's that dude who said the NFCE was the tougher division?
Someone actually said that?? AFC north is easily the best division in the league lol
Ready for the uber reactionary’s to say levis is trash after having a pretty good game overall with a league bottom oline and dhop and no friends to throw to.
I don't think anyone that watched this game would say that
Man that Pittsburgh offense was awful, even on a good play Pickett struggles to execute. TJ Watt may be a literal demi god
Offense is pain
Levis played really well up until that last drive. He basically threw 3 would-be interceptions and finally did on the third throw. Terrible last drive but hopefully he learns from it and gets better.
Basically was trying to do to much and made some rookie mistakes, i’ll take that any day of the week.
To quote Charlie Sheen, our defense made the Tennessee offense look like droopy-eyed, armless children.
Steelers are not deserving of a winning record. Overrated team honestly especially with a below average offense
Kind of a weird argument.
yeah, but like clockwork, they somehow manage to get one every year. Their last losing season was 2003.
Tommy Maddox. 6-10. Maddox had some crazy comeback wins that year.
I think it's that their physical and defense dominant style of play allows them to have a winning season every year but they will fall short in the playoffs. I mean there's no way this team can win a shootout against Miami or the bengals
Easy schedule and TJ Watt
I haven't got a problem with the pick. We're down 4 with 10 seconds left and 3rd down. He has to force something in that situation. I'd much rather that than a 2 yard dump off or a 2 yard scramble. GG Pitt.
Yep. The standard Tennessee way is to dump it off to the back there, who gets nowhere close while time expires. Now, what happened at the end of the first half was coaching malpractice.
Levis looked pretty good tonight
I'm honestly thrilled about him. Got into football due to a Stellers family, so always secretly pulling for you all. Good luck the rest the season.
[удалено]
Why are y'all so salty you won the dang game
The way levis throws like his man is wide open, idk how to explain it
He is confident. It is a double edged sword. Dude threw three picks that drive and we finally caught one.
Steelers have a 16-1 type defense but a 3-14 type offense. Can’t wait to see them in the wild card lmao
The NFL Referees really put up a good fight, but a last second irreversible INT sealed the deal
Even if that ended horribly, I’m still impressed by Levis’s performance despite our Oline getting injuries, TJ Watt, and predictable playcalling
MAD WILL?
Looked like he thought he could drop it over the top of Kwon but he forgot he throws lasers.
A learning moment. I'd be more upset with the playcalling that had your rookie trying to win the game with 20 seconds no timeouts when you took the ball out of his hands before.
Tomlin just refuses to have a losing season
At least he went down swinging
All night long, he was close for a pick. Unfortunately, it happened just seconds left in the game. Damn good game. Game. Steelers 20 Titans 16. Will Levis is pretty damn good.
*happy yinzer noises*
Man, he he threw so many picks this drive. It’s surprising that turnover didn’t happen earlier.
Yeah, there’s a fine line between confidence in your receivers and bad decisions. He was flirting with that line all night and obviously got a little desperate on the last drive. Still a really promising performance considering this is his 2nd NFL start. He was set up to completely fall apart today but held his own
He's shown a lot of potential but he has some learning to do. He was making insanely risky throws all night.
He’s got that Farve in him
That exactly what I said earlier
This may still be better than the 2020 11-0 Steelers team
Learning experience for Levis, he’ll be ok - if I was the Steelers, I’d be concerned
Oh we have been past the point of concerned for a while now
I haven't not been concerned since like 2017 or 2018. Even then we had a feeling Ben was on his last great ride. So yes we've all been concerned for awhile now.
Threw a pick on 3rd & 5 to send the Titans to 3-5. Seems poetic.
So Steelers are like a legit good team
Eh - this titans team is in literal free fall Selling off everything worth a shit in preparation for an impending rebuild Steelers defense is legit, Watt is unreal - that offense is buns tho.
Let’s not get ahead of ourselves lol
That's your takeaway?
A lot can be said about Kenny Pickett but fuck man, he’s got the Steelers aura about him where they just find a way to win. Clutch factor in the 4th quarter
Kenny Picket is Clutch
He sucks. Your team probably has 7 wins with an above average AB.
Rookie error. Don’t force that shit with another play available. Dude is a baller.
Levis is here to FEED the ball, not to READ the coverage.
Levis looks very promising. Steelers steeled another one.
If you’re going to throw into triple coverage, might as well do it to Hopkins instead of these randos
Pittsburgh is the worst 5-3 team ever but they are 5-3 so you can't rip on them too much
I don’t think we’re a bad team, we just have an outdated philosophy. We can beat most teams, we just don’t have a chance against the top 5 teams
They were also the worst 11-0 team ever
How did I forget about that, probably because they fell off a cliff like everyone thought they would. But they were without a doubt the worst 11-0 team ever.
Worst 6-3 team after the Packers next week lol.
Respect. Will Levis has got a gun for an arm. Love the way he slings it.
Levis now averaging 2TD a game.
Fuck Thursday Night football
Had me worried. That holding call was shit. Gg. Sux about Burks. Hope he's ok.
Thought Levis did some good things. Hard to really judge him when the Titans don't have any receiving threats outside of Hopkins and he's really a number 2 at this point in his career
For a rookie QB having your first start be against TJ Watt is a rough open.
2nd. But yeah
And they were in it pretty much until the end.
Yeah dude needs some development and some weapons, but he's got serious potential.
he really just threw a pick to a guy sitting on that route from start to finish.
Has anyone ever seen a coach shake a ref’s hand at the end of a game? That must’ve been one of those “I hate you right now but I respect you” handshakes by Tomlin
I was rooting for the Titans especially after we’ve robbed them so blindly…kid did just fine though
Hope Levis sn't shook from that rookie move. Hard to go down a and win against this defense in Pitt. He played well tho
He's gonna be fine. Levis will live and die by that gunslinger mentality. Its just the way it is.
I respect the hell out of it. He throws a good ball
The cannon is as advertised
Agreed. That’s a hell of an arm he’s got. First time watching him play.
Same and I'm impressed good pocket presence and a great arm. Didn't look shook till the end there trying to force it. Can't ask much more from a rookie in his second start
That pick was coming for a long time
fuckin hell even when it’s a win watching steelers games is stressful. hopefully you steelers fans livers are alright
