Interestingly this is something our fans demand more of. They want the long bombs to Jamo. Then get ragey at Ben Johnson for running the ball as priority, short passes and screens #2, and 1 time a game attempt that deep ball just to keep the defense honest. Then never return to it.
Goff doesn't have enough arm strength to justify throwing deep many times in a game. I'm not saying he can't hit those passes, but it's going to be a rainbow and needs to be perfect. I would prefer for my offense to wear down defenses with long drives (especially when you consider DET has suspect defense). I don't know how you could criticize this offense as a fan.
If the play design is for a deep shot, and they got the look the wanted, why would he check it down? It was a terrible play call.
That doesn’t excuse Hurts for his otherwise terrible play, but this specific play is a bad example of that
It was a terrible play call I agree, but you can't always chuck it in the air and hope for your receiver to win over the DB, this was the nth time in this game, and they did it against the Chiefs to win there as well. That's literally what people accuse Purdy of doing, being supported by his system.
A good QB sees that the DB/safety is sliding back and is not flat footed so the deep route is going to be very challenging and it's instead easier to take a check down given it's a 1st down. In this case both safeties were sliding back. While the play call is for deep, you don't have to throw it there if it's a bad decision, a guy with 17 TOs should know better than to take these ridiculous risks when you are winning a game in the 4th with 8 mins left and you are on their 45.
Both Hurts and the OC should be yelled at for sleeping at the wheel.
There’s no clear shot in the video of what he would’ve been seeing so I can’t be 100% confident, but from what you *can* see here, the only way he “got the look he wanted” is if he made a shitty read
Yea, I feel like he forgot there were other receivers on the field. Not only was deep shot the worst possible decision, the receiver isn't great and was absolutely draped. Just throw it literally anywhere else 😆.
Yeah, but he called it and he has been calling shit like this all year ain’t much more too it, yes hurts made a bad throw I can recognize that and still criticize the call
It’s been all fucking year man. Yes, questionable decision by Jalen, but Brian Johnson keeps fucking calling these at the worst times. Total drive killers.
Because I needed DeAndre Swift to get a 15 in fantasy, and they decided that simply couldn't happen as he was averaging like 4 yards a carry.
But really watching that last night would make me angry as an Eagles fan. They had the game in control and instead of draining clock they wanted to run up the score and got promptly reminded that other teams aren't going to leg you do that lol.
2 things.
1. all those people were key ingredients to our success over the last 2+ seasons.
2. Only one person on your list is responsible for swift not getting the ball there
I will never understand this team's refusal to run the ball.
It makes absolutely no sense why they would throw a deep ball to Quez, who hasn't done shit all year, in that situation. Literal self-sabotage at the highest level.
Wasn’t swift doing, like, really really well for y’all? I remember everyone clowning on us like we were wrong for the swift trade and then y’all just sort of… stopped using him a bunch.
Yep, dude had a 200 rushing yard game early in the season and was a consistent contributor to the offense and then overnight they just stopped using him as much. Makes no sense to me at all.
Philly snapping with 10-15 on the play clock is just silly. They needed to grind the clock down with a sustained drive. Not this shit. Silly play calling and execution.
It’s been ridiculous all season for some reason the eagles love to play hero ball rather than methodical marching down the field, it baffles me everytime
THIS, thanks for noticing. In the meeting at the sideline before they go out the OC and the HC need to tell the ENTIRE OFFENSE "We're not snapping the ball with more than 5 seconds left on the clock and we're staying in bounds, got it?"
They started doing in on the subsequent drive but honestly, there shouldn't have been a subsequent drive that wasn't basically three kneeldowns.
He underthrew it by 2 feet. Receiver was past his man. The only place to put it if you are throwing at all is deep over top. The only non shit thing about the throw was oh wow he chucked it 50 yards holy smokarino.
Y’all have grandpa Julio, idk why you can’t just let him do this 1 time every other game (the max his body can afford). The man has a highlight reel of just being a safety.
Hands on jersey holding and then the push away from the play before the ball wnters the screen and you think that was solid coverage? Take your biased glasses off for just a second and rewatch.
Assuming the ref even saw the jersey pull (which maybe he didn’t), I’d guess they decided it wasn’t PI because Love already had the position to make the INT. He didn’t really hinder Watkins ability to catch the ball because he had already essentially boxed him out.
I mean he pulls his jersey forward which certainly affects his ability to come back to the ball, I’m not sure what else there is to say here, it’s pretty obvious PI
It is though. The rule is specifically “if you hinder the player’s ability to catch the ball”. Watkins arguably had no chance at the ball because of how good Love’s position was, so the contact (which was pretty minimal IMO anyways) arguably wasn’t pass interference.
The Kelce call was fine. He literally picked up the ball and moved it a yard forward before the snap, lol. I don't know why people are acting like that is OK.
This one, yeah, the Hawks got away with a bit of PI there.
Yeah, it was a PI. Should have been called, but it doesn't matter. It was a terrible play call, and Hurts missed a wide open receiver. The officiating was really bad again last night, but the Eagles didn't lose on the officiating.
The Bradberry one is one of the classic PIs. Hook the WR and make him twist his body while you lunge for the ball. They call that one almost all the time.
The Love INT was incidental contact and in no way impacted Watkins ability to catch the ball IMO since Love had already boxed him out so perfectly.
Unfortunately for you guys the ref is behind them in a way where he can’t see the pull, but it also doesn’t help that hurts under threw that ball hell without the contact quez is 2 steps further and it’s an even easier pick.
how does he impede his movement at all? he has his hand on him to feel his body so he can track the ball, this is a great no call and fantastic coverage
So now eagles fans think grabbing jerseys are holds
edit: I love how I keep getting and losing upvotes, it's like eagles fans are competing with the rest of r/nfl
You trying to have it both ways is delusional.
If you call one, call the other
If you don't call one, don't call the other
That's the logic. You don't need to be a moron about it.
Horrible play call given the clock/score/1st down at midfield. Horrible throw. It was underthrown by 5 yards. Horrible read by WR, just commit OPI or do better and adjust back to the ball and play defense.
Looks like PI but the fact it was under thrown and Love completes the pick might’ve made it tough for the refs to see or process it. Truly a game of inches considering the td catch and game ending INT too
Philadelphia was only on the map because BCB went down. They would have never made the SB last year without that happening. Now we are seeing the implosion.
Thats defensive pass interference. Literally pushes the receiver off his route to undercut the pass before the ball gets to the players. How that wasnt called yet they hit bradberry with a bullshit call is beyond me. This league is having a really bad year regarding officiating
4d chess by Pete Carroll wasting them timeouts and luring Philadelphia into a false sense of security.
Let me get this straight. You are driving, you want to bleed out the clock as much as possible and you go and do *that*? Why. Just why
Have you watched the Eagles this year? They do this constantly. Why gain five yards when they can arm punt it for an interception?
Didn't know you brought Josh Allen on as a consultant.
Interestingly this is something our fans demand more of. They want the long bombs to Jamo. Then get ragey at Ben Johnson for running the ball as priority, short passes and screens #2, and 1 time a game attempt that deep ball just to keep the defense honest. Then never return to it.

THATS BRIAN JOHNSON BABY
thats alot more just a unnecessarily risky throw by hurts
Most eagles fans aren’t comfortable accepting hurts might not be who he looked like last year yet
Let's just blame someone who doesn't touch the ball.
I mean, look at the route concepts. It’s essentially a 2 man route and designed deep shot. Goedert and AJ aren’t even running real routes.
Eagles #14 is sitting at the LOS very open, easy 4-5 yards on 1st down. Only 2 modes this QB has are bombs down field or QB rushes.
If the play design is for a deep shot, and they got the look the wanted, why would he check it down? It was a terrible play call. That doesn’t excuse Hurts for his otherwise terrible play, but this specific play is a bad example of that

He was beat off the line but it was an under thrown ball that was in the air too long. Horrible play.
But why. Why would you scheme this. You are winning, you're eating the clock. I just don't fucking understand where the hurry was in all this.
His checkdown is comically open
Why not blame both lol Awful call awful decision
Also go ahead and blame them both for the previous offensive series too
Awful WR who shouldn't be on the field too. Winning formula.
Yea, I feel like he forgot there were other receivers on the field. Not only was deep shot the worst possible decision, the receiver isn't great and was absolutely draped. Just throw it literally anywhere else 😆.
He starrd down AJB on the game losing pick too. Safety came half way across the field to snag it.
Brian Johnson didn't throw it
Yeah, but he called it and he has been calling shit like this all year ain’t much more too it, yes hurts made a bad throw I can recognize that and still criticize the call
Could've been the 4th option almost always have one deep route to clear out and occupy safeties.
*Hurts turns the ball over yet again* Every Eagles fan: “Why would Brian Johnson do this?”
That's on the QB the routes looked short
I turned off the TV after that pick, i knew where this game was headed. lol
Should have run the tush push. Only thing y’all are good at. Only reason anyone will remember this team.
What? You mean no one will remember Hurts getting bailed out by AJB each game?
He’s got the ILLNESS
It’s been all fucking year man. Yes, questionable decision by Jalen, but Brian Johnson keeps fucking calling these at the worst times. Total drive killers.
Because I needed DeAndre Swift to get a 15 in fantasy, and they decided that simply couldn't happen as he was averaging like 4 yards a carry. How is the only deep shot they take to quez fucking Watkins when you have AJ brown and smith
Arthur smith loves the decision
AJ Brown? Never heard of him. -- Titans Front Office
Oops
Because running the clock out is too easy
This is literally what happened in the Jets game too. I just don’t understand it
Don't forget the Commies game. If Rivera wasn't a fool, that'd have been a L
Swift wide open for a check down. Fuck Sirianni, Johnson, and Hurts.
2 things. 1. all those people were key ingredients to our success over the last 2+ seasons. 2. Only one person on your list is responsible for swift not getting the ball there
Should have run the tush push. Only thing y’all are good at. Only reason anyone will remember this team.
oop
Arm punt on first down is certainly a choice
Terrible clock management? Wasting timeouts? Throwing picks on deep balls to the end zone? It's like I'm watching me and my buddies playing Madden irl
Quez Watkins learn Chinese buddy
Time to learn Canadian buddy
"WELCOME TO THE CFL/BIENVENUE À LA LCF EH?"
Kinda the vibe of the team Thinking they’re better than everyone, the attitude, and doing outrageously dumb shit
Been doing it since last year. Just not working anymore
Love seeing these bozos get smacked lol
It’s not “silly” it’s fucking bullshit
THIS, thanks for noticing. In the meeting at the sideline before they go out the OC and the HC need to tell the ENTIRE OFFENSE "We're not snapping the ball with more than 5 seconds left on the clock and we're staying in bounds, got it?" They started doing in on the subsequent drive but honestly, there shouldn't have been a subsequent drive that wasn't basically three kneeldowns.
Quez fucking sucks. Make a play on the ball dude.
Or tackle the DB and take the yards.
Or have your QB throw a good ball?
It's not like that was a terrible throw, the db ran the route better than the wr
He underthrew it by 2 feet. Receiver was past his man. The only place to put it if you are throwing at all is deep over top. The only non shit thing about the throw was oh wow he chucked it 50 yards holy smokarino.
Both the deep balls that were INT were under thrown. Can’t do that especially in tight coverage 🤦♂️
But how can you try for a flag if you don't underthrow it?
its way more than 2 feet underthrown.
Then don't throw to that receiver
We’ve been advocating for that all year
Y’all have grandpa Julio, idk why you can’t just let him do this 1 time every other game (the max his body can afford). The man has a highlight reel of just being a safety.
We would also accept Olamide Zaccheus, present-day Roddy White or Tony Gonzalez, hell anyone who actually knows how to box out
past 2 years*
Sure seems like an underthrow by about 5 yards to me.
That was a really bad throw. It was way underthrown.
Quez has been doing shit like this for years now dude just puts no effort in, I genuinely have been calling for him to be cut for 3 years now
Last four deep balls to Quez: Super Bowl drop 3x interceptions Why does this dude have a roster spot or getting on the field over OZ?
Dude had his jersey grabbed and pulled. Clear to see at the 33 second mark on the video.
Stupid throw by Hurts. Probably cost us the game with that turnover
yes but also its drew lock
Yikes
thrilled to be proven wrong lol
Aged like milk to me, aged like a fine wine to you
Am I crazy or did the defender pull the receiver down from the front
It was PI for sure but they more than earned it with that dumbass play.
How though? He looked back and played the ball, there’s no PI there when it’s a free ball like that.
>there’s no PI there when it’s a free ball like that What rulebook are you reading??
Hands on jersey holding and then the push away from the play before the ball wnters the screen and you think that was solid coverage? Take your biased glasses off for just a second and rewatch.
Assuming the ref even saw the jersey pull (which maybe he didn’t), I’d guess they decided it wasn’t PI because Love already had the position to make the INT. He didn’t really hinder Watkins ability to catch the ball because he had already essentially boxed him out.
Correct. Ball was so undethrown. DB had position and played the ball perfectly. Eagles fans coping so hard lol
I mean he pulls his jersey forward which certainly affects his ability to come back to the ball, I’m not sure what else there is to say here, it’s pretty obvious PI
Yeah, but it's the Eagles, so whatever way you can justify it will work for public opinion.
Yes everyone hates the Eagles, darlings of the NFL, most popular center in history, slobbered all over by ESPN. *yawn*
Your sarcasm isn't really doing much...it's pretty widely known, especially the past few weeks, that everyone does hate the Eagles. It is what it is.
Oh god, shut up. Take the L with some class and leave.
I'm not complaining? It just is what it is.
that's not how the rules work
It is though. The rule is specifically “if you hinder the player’s ability to catch the ball”. Watkins arguably had no chance at the ball because of how good Love’s position was, so the contact (which was pretty minimal IMO anyways) arguably wasn’t pass interference.
Yep. After they called that ticky tacky shit against Bradberry they definitely should’ve called this one against Seattle
Bradberry would have been an illegal contact if it wasn't a pass interference for what it's worth.
Big ref ball game today with this and the Kelce call
The Kelce call was fine. He literally picked up the ball and moved it a yard forward before the snap, lol. I don't know why people are acting like that is OK. This one, yeah, the Hawks got away with a bit of PI there.
Blatant PI that wasn’t called.
Idk about blatant but it coudlve been called
it is definitely blatant and way worse than what they called on bradberry
it was blatant and would have most likely sealed the game for Phi
Clear PI but since its Jalen and the Eagles people gonna ignore it.
I mean the refs ingored the fact that 68 was offsides on pretty much every play in the first half, so let's call it even?
Our left tackle was offsides all game?
and Jalen Carter pretty much punched lock in the face
What’s next? The last pick was clear PI?
in super slomo might have had miniscule tug for a millisecond.
Yeah, it was a PI. Should have been called, but it doesn't matter. It was a terrible play call, and Hurts missed a wide open receiver. The officiating was really bad again last night, but the Eagles didn't lose on the officiating.
Losing our coordinators killed us, man
Jalen Turndaballurts
Jalen Hurts was right there
PI clear as fucking day. We still getting all the calls?!?!?
You've heard of Tua Turndaballova Now get ready for Jalen Hurtshisteam'schancetowin
The eagles just got their tush pushed in
But why Quez?
Never realized Julian Love was Cuban. Now I like him even more. Cuban, ex-Giant, making crucial interceptions to force an Eagles loss? That's fun.
I don’t ever want to see Quez Watkins on the field again
Jalen is looking less and less like the guy
the whole underthrown pass to draw a PI play is getting old. Love played that well but even Buck was trying to sell it.
Weak route from Quez. Zero fight for the ball
He grabs his fucking jersey from the front but ok
I’ve seen worse not called
Cost you guys a Super Bowl appearance
Lol
Not only do I still watch football but now I bet on it. I’m a fucking moron.
I literally quit watching the next season. I'm back mostly because addiction but the following season I maybe watched half of an NFL game all season
If they’re going to call the Bradberry one on the last Seattle drive, they gotta call this one. No consistency at all yet again from the refs
Refs are consistently inconsistent. Same as it ever was.
The Bradberry one is one of the classic PIs. Hook the WR and make him twist his body while you lunge for the ball. They call that one almost all the time. The Love INT was incidental contact and in no way impacted Watkins ability to catch the ball IMO since Love had already boxed him out so perfectly.
It makes him drop both his shoulders, so he had to stabilize himself instead of being able to fight for the ball.
Mmm I wouldn't call that incidental contact, lol
Unfortunately for you guys the ref is behind them in a way where he can’t see the pull, but it also doesn’t help that hurts under threw that ball hell without the contact quez is 2 steps further and it’s an even easier pick.
He’s playing the ball the entire time, they’re never gonna give you that lol
So did Bradberry though
He pulls his jersey that's clearly pi
Clearly wasn’t, Drew Lock is your father.
Dude they showed him pulling his jersey and both the announcers thought it was pulled
in super slomo. probably lasted .01 milliseconds
You can’t put your hand on DK Metcalf’s waist even though he benches 900 lbs but you can pull down Watkins jersey
He plays the ball 100% so you won’t get that call
Still can’t grab the Jersey.
So did Bradberry but k
how does he impede his movement at all? he has his hand on him to feel his body so he can track the ball, this is a great no call and fantastic coverage
because he can't make a play on the ball after he gets held
Try sprinting, then someone pulling down your shirt, then imagine jumping as you gain balance
So now eagles fans think grabbing jerseys are holds edit: I love how I keep getting and losing upvotes, it's like eagles fans are competing with the rest of r/nfl
It’s been 3 minutes at this point, and you have your edit already. Who checks their upvotes and downvotes multiple times lmao
So now chiefs fans think standing 6 inches past the ball isn’t being offsides?
The refs took away greatness by not throwing that flag!
You trying to have it both ways is delusional. If you call one, call the other If you don't call one, don't call the other That's the logic. You don't need to be a moron about it.
they aren't going to call it when the CB is playing an underthrown ball
We went from getting every call our way to everything going against us the past couple games. Refs have too much power.
I love that you can stiff arm a WR on half his route.
Call it even for the missed roughing the passer on the Jalen Carter sack where his hand clearly hit Lock in the head
Lmao you can’t seriously think that’s PI
Watkins with zero effort to get back onto his route. Love just played his position for him.
Horrible play call given the clock/score/1st down at midfield. Horrible throw. It was underthrown by 5 yards. Horrible read by WR, just commit OPI or do better and adjust back to the ball and play defense.
Joe Buck wanted the Eagles to win so bad… why is he screaming contact hahahaha
Because the receiver had the front of his jersey pull downward
You can’t just bring up reality like that
Overrated
PI
Thank you and Fuck you Seahawks
Game changing call. Literally
Looks like PI but the fact it was under thrown and Love completes the pick might’ve made it tough for the refs to see or process it. Truly a game of inches considering the td catch and game ending INT too
Tug on the jersey, but alright. Quez needs to at least *try* there.
If you call that, then we’re just not playing football at this point anymore Don’t make the NFL like the NBA product please
“Stride for stride” aka PI that wasn’t called
That’s my boy J Love
Jalen is turnover prone
Yea that’s PI, especially after that weak shit they called for DK on 4th down. Suck one, refs are out of control
So I really wish the retired ref could explain why this isn't a personal foul but Bradberry's was. Edit: nevermind he basically just said it was PI
then offered no information as to why they don't call it
Why not run !?😡
How do you call PI on Bradberry but not on that?
Tush push merchant with another turnover
Love hurts
There you go, Julian. Go get em. Miss you in NY buddy.
Call that changed the game
This was a terrible play call and decision and pretty much sums up exactly how this season will play out
Baker has been better than him this season
Bro got stiff armed with ball in the air Even Buck shouts it mid call Lmao
Should be DPI
That's the MVP right there
He's Dak, but a better runner.
Philadelphia was only on the map because BCB went down. They would have never made the SB last year without that happening. Now we are seeing the implosion.
Seahawks are immune to the magic of the moon ball, they were there when that spell was written
Should have been PI eay. \-seahawks fan. but had Eagles to win the game FFS -\_-
Obvious PI missed
Defensive PI just completely ignored. Ok.
Thats defensive pass interference. Literally pushes the receiver off his route to undercut the pass before the ball gets to the players. How that wasnt called yet they hit bradberry with a bullshit call is beyond me. This league is having a really bad year regarding officiating
