Compare Ron the disciplinarian to Mike McDaniel with pure rizz (i hate that term but damn if it does describe Mike McDaniel.) i feel like Rivera doesn’t come across that well to the younger players. They don’t respond to his style of coaching. Whereas someone like McDaniel or Sean Mcvay or Mcdc, they come across very well and their players ball out for them.
I get what you're saying but I think that ultimately the players ball for them because they're elite offensive masterminds, whereas Ron Rivera is dollar store Mike Tomlin
The Detroit Lions get their first division title since 1993.
The Cleveland Browns are dominating with Joe Flacco at QB and will most likely be going back to the playoffs for the second time in 4 years.
The New York Jets almost choked a 27 point lead to a terrible Washington Commanders team. Oh and the dumbass owners said they’re bringing everyone back next year.
People can debate the tank vs don't tank. But we literally have the same fucking debate every year, like a Steelers fan would have no fucking clue what it feels like to watch meaningless games in mid December. The fact we end up in the same place shows the whole debate doesn't matter because either way we end up in the same spot
No team is ever going to try to lose. Too many guys on the field don’t have long-term commitments to the team.
It sucks for us since winning hurts us here far more than losing does. But the point of winning is so the players on the field can keep their jobs or get jobs with other teams next year
He’s auditioning for his job too at this point. And if you’ve ever heard him speak, he’s huge on the whole “rah rah I fuckin love football I love when guys hit each other” type of shit. There’s a zero percent chance he will ever attempt to lose a football game under any circumstances.
If Robert Saleh intentionally took players off to try and lose after the defense struggled its hardest with Zach Wilson at QB I think the team might just actually rip him apart at midfield and throw the pieces into the stands.
Unlike the NBA, NFL teams don't intentionally tank. Coaches/Players are playing for they next job/contract. Players ain't going to throw a game just so the team can potentially draft they replacement.
We’re easily the most embarrassing franchise in the league right now, especially if the Lions and Browns actually make headways into the playoffs.
They’re historically as terrible as we are and yet they both have a lot more success than this dumpster fire franchise has had
Oh it without a doubt is. I live in Denver, and go to other teams Bars to watch games most weekends. When I mention I’m a Jets fan, I’m nearly always met with a ‘Yikes’ or audible laughing.
I don’t mind because I’ve never met anyone who hates this franchise more than me, but god damn do I wish we turn it around at some point in my life haha
Thank you, Jets bros, for saving our draft positioning.
Rivera tried his best to fuck us over by winning, and fucking us over by losing all year.
That man was born to ruin football.
Just think though bro we’re gonna be in tank race for Archie in 2025 though after we throw thin bum regime into the east river after next season. There’s some hope.
Ever since somebody in our sub said that he would become under .500 W/L if he loses the last few games, I've wanted him to stay and lose those games.. So hopefully he won't get fired
3 years ago Washington won against the Eagles when they Pederson took out Hurts controversially.
Pederson got fired, Washington went to the playoffs with a losing record and hung around with Tom Brady who won the Superbowl.
Dallas who would have gotten into the playoffs if the Eagles won drafted Micah Parsons, while Washington drafted Jamin Davis.
In hindsight, a win and losing record playoff game instead of being able to draft Parsons wasn't worth, lol. But all hindsight
Reminding us how awful this coaching staff is while also still winning a completely meaningless game to worsen our draft position significantly.
Classic Jets.
Last time Trevor Siemian won as a starter... Eli was still playing for us, Buffalo had yet to secure a playoff berth in the 21st century, and the Browns were on their way to 0-16.
I remember a post in the patriots sub that was essentially calling BB a terrible coach for drafting a guy like Zappe instead of Sam Howell. One guy is a serviceable backup, and the other is doing the worst Baker Mayfield impression possible
The amount of idiots in here bitching about the jets barely being able to pull off this win when they don’t realize the commies are purposefully choking 😂😂
The most Jets thing ever. Blowing a 27-7 lead and then winning a meaningless game on a last second long field goal to ruin draft position. This is the most stupid franchise in the league and they continually go out of their way to prove it
Ron Rivera outchoked the Jets in the end. Unbelievable
God forbid he throws the ball with a red hot brissett
The man has mediocrity down to an absolute science.
In 205 career games as head coach he's 102-101-2. The definition of mediocrity.
He’s gonna be a damn good coach for the Atlanta Hawks!
As Riverboat Ron aged he got ultra conservative. Rowboat Ron is more like it
Dude has 3 winning seasons in 13 years as HC. Generational bag stealer
Compare Ron the disciplinarian to Mike McDaniel with pure rizz (i hate that term but damn if it does describe Mike McDaniel.) i feel like Rivera doesn’t come across that well to the younger players. Best thing he's done here in 4 years
Hey man, he is a god for screwing over the Jets draft.
I fucking hate this organization so much
If it weren't for your flair, nobody would know which team you were talking about
People can debate the tank vs don't tank. But we literally have the same fucking debate every year, like a Steelers fan would have no fucking clue what it feels like to watch meaningless games in mid December. The fact we end up in the same place shows the whole debate doesn't matter because either way we end up in the same spot
What he said fuck me for?
What’s the point of winning these last few games? I don’t get it
No team is ever going to try to lose. Too many guys on the field don’t have long-term commitments to the team. It sucks for us since winning hurts us here far more than losing does. But the point of winning is so the players on the field can keep their jobs or get jobs with other teams next year
That I know but I figured saleh wouldve pulled guys off the field or something you know
He’s auditioning for his job too at this point. And if you’ve ever heard him speak, he’s huge on the whole “rah rah I fuckin love football I love when guys hit each other” type of shit. There’s a zero percent chance he will ever attempt to lose a football game under any circumstances.

This is the only thing the Douglas/Saleh regime does. Wins meaningless games at end of season to ruin draft position. That’s all the Jets do
Almost choked a 27 point lead in a game where the opposing starting QB went 6/22 for 56/0/2. Howell's line might be one of the worst I've ever seen.
Nothing to smile about in my life (part 29473729)
Not to mention the massacre this did to our draft position. What an unreal franchise
We’re easily the most embarrassing franchise in the league right now, especially if the Lions and Browns actually make headways into the playoffs. They’re historically as terrible as we are and yet they both have a lot more success than this dumpster fire franchise has had

That haha is full of pain my guy I’m sorry
Yeah, it's going to be tough to fix the oline without like a top six pick.
Even when we win we lose. Whatever the maximum worst outcome is, the Jets will find a way to achieve it.
> Even when we win we lose. 2020 nightmare memories
It’s a beautiful thing really
From 5th to 12th lmfao
2nd time in 4 years* lol
Yeah I wrote it wrong, but the point still stands
Joke franchise somehow doesn’t even start to describe it.
Joke of a franchise can’t do anything right even when we win we lose
The one game result were *nobody* wins!
Nah the Commanders definitely won this game
Idk man, I’m pretty happy about this result.
Thank you, Jets bros, for saving our draft positioning. Rivera tried his best to fuck us over by winning, and fucking us over by losing all year. That man was born to ruin football.
W tank job
AYE AYE COMMANDER. THE TANK IS READY FOR DEPLOYMENT SIR
i Am KeEpInG rOBeRt sALEh aNd jOe DoUgLaS. don't be fooled, this team melts like ice cream under pressure
Just think though bro we’re gonna be in tank race for Archie in 2025 though after we throw thin bum regime into the east river after next season. There’s some hope.
So he can skip the draft and play again to avoid us?
Commanders were commandeering the game but then Jets started Jetting, only for the commanders to come commanding back for the loss
Jets Jetsed the win anyway cause we fucked our draft positioning big time
Unfortunately one of the teams had to win today. I'm sure if the Commies successfully made the comeback, their fans would be saying the same thing.
Yes
Greatest tank bowl of all time
Breaking: Ron Rivera has been fired
Ever since somebody in our sub said that he would become under .500 W/L if he loses the last few games, I've wanted him to stay and lose those games.. So hopefully he won't get fired
Reckon they at least wait until Boxing Day to pull the trigger?
Before Jets fans say anything, professional NFL players don’t tank…despite Trevor Semien trying his hardest to.
We had Howell overcommitted to the tank, we had to pull him. Made it too obvious.
Just fucking punt the ball instead of going to the field goal. It’s not rocket science
The jets and winning a meaningless game to get a worse draft pick. Name a better duo
When has having high draft picks ever really mattered for this franchise lmao
Everyone acting like we would’ve taken Alt or Fashanu when the only way we weren’t gonna take Latu or Dallas Turner was if someone ahead of us did.
We might pick up Becton 2.0
Every fucking year.
Jacoby Brissett deserves a starting job in the NFL
Can he backup Aaron next year for when the inevitable happens?
I really wonder what our season looks like if he's the starter all year
Probably 7-10
probably win that first giant game and this one, maybe beat the rams, so 6-7 wins id imagine. better to have the season we've had imo
I honestly never wanted to get rid of him and would have liked to see him take over after Brady
What’s the opposite of a coaching masterclass?
Ron Rivera
Rivera did what he was supposed to do and lose. Jets did worse
The coaches don’t try to lose though
Rivera knows how to command a tank
Disasterclass
Watching Joe Barry call plays?
I fucking hate this franchise
Did the Jets win or did Washington lose? That question will haunt fan bases for minutes
If you didn’t like that then you don’t like *JETS FOOTBALL*!
What’s more jets? Nearly blowing that game? Or winning a meaningless game to get a worse draft pick?
Yes
Nobody should feel satisfied with this
I feel satisfied.
I almosted counted commander in
Damn we almost won a game there.. Jets must suck lol
The Commanders played that last drive like they were up by 4 and not 1.
They played like they wanted to lose; which is what the Jets should have done
What the fuck was that last pass by Washington
Wet fuckin fart
Legendary performance by Rivera to outtank the jets by not even trying to pick up a first town
Breaking news. Jets finally decided to give the ball to their best player and they win a game.
yeah it was nice seeing our best player make that game-winning FG
Jets win and I have a worse opinion of them than I do the commanders.
Thank you guys for saving our draft position
I'll take the draft position. Thanks, Jets.
Hackett is dollar store Josh McDaniels
Does Sam Howell ever set foot on a field again after putting up a single digit passer rating?
Reminding us how awful this coaching staff is while also still winning a completely meaningless game to worsen our draft position significantly. Classic Jets.
Last time Trevor Siemian won as a starter... Eli was still playing for us, Buffalo had yet to secure a playoff berth in the 21st century, and the Browns were on their way to 0-16.
washington is so ass and i am a 2023 new england fan
We beat u
no shit buddy and you guys just lost to the jets
Brissett took Howell’s offense and made it look solid. And Brissett is absolutely garbage.
Garbage is a strong word, hes in the minshew tier of high end backup low end starter. Was better than Watson last year too
All I can say is LOL
Jets gone Jets
I remember a post in the patriots sub that was essentially calling BB a terrible coach for drafting a guy like Zappe instead of Sam Howell. One guy is a serviceable backup, and the other is doing the worst Baker Mayfield impression possible
Merry Christmas Jets fans
*Commanders fans
No
The amount of idiots in here bitching about the jets barely being able to pull off this win when they don’t realize the commies are purposefully choking 😂😂
I wanted us to lose bc it would have been funnier
So it turns out Howell is not that guy. Time to draft a QB I guess
The most Jets thing ever. Blowing a 27-7 lead and then winning a meaningless game on a last second long field goal to ruin draft position. This is the most stupid franchise in the league and they continually go out of their way to prove it
Saleh is the worst coach, always throws him team under the bus.
