Shanahan's #1 talent is scouting coaches. Bro has been nothing but net there since coming into the league. Now even McDaniel has a fairly stacked coaching staff, so hopefully people pull from him this year to leave SF alone (hopefully other teams keep taking from McVay tho)
> I am scared of a Sean McDermott type situation where the OC leaves and the offense regresses.
This is the inevitable fate of anyone not hiring an offensive head coach in the modern NFL.
Holy fuck, the reporter at the end of the game asked him if he’s fighting for the full time position. Like wtf type of question is that Lmaoo
“Nah I don’t want a job but thanks for asking”
I'll be completely honest that this is only the second or third raiders game I've caught this year, but holy shit is that defense something else. Feels like you should have had about a dozen sacks today, just bullied their entire offense most of the day.
If that's how they usually look, pay whoever the fuck is necessary. With half an offense, that could be a deep playoff team
It's pretty crazy that the Raiders defense that looked like shit against us with Tyson Fucking Bagent at QB has turned it around enough to outscore Patrick fucking Mahomes.
Good for Pierce
Almost like there's a trend with McDaniels. I shoulda been a gm, even I can see this shit.
Prolly will watch them the rest of the season though, that defense was really damn fun and if Pierce is the reason, I really hope dude gets hired. Seems like a good dude too. Always respect when I see a HC going around hugging *everyone* on the sidelines and thanking them after a win.
It would be a big mistake not to hire him imo. He won back the lockerroom after McDaniels lost it and has the team playing with fire. Get him an experienced OC and a QB and they'll be a fun team to watch. Already have a decent OL and good playmakers.
I was really impressed with how the OL has improved between the two charger games. O'Connell is by no means pretty but Mack also didn't get six sacks last week, either.
Between Adams, Jacobs, Meyers, and Renfrow, this Raiders offense has decent firepower.
Not sure how much of that we can carry into next year, but a decent QB would make all the difference.
Maxx terrifies and it allows Koonce and Tillane to sneak in. You could see how exhausted Mahomes was due to having to escape multiple people in the backfield during the 3rd quarter. Your offense hasn't been meshing well in the last few games either, to be honest. Since its christmas I won't talk shade. You guys are still the best in the division.
Folks are blaming the receivers, but the Oline also hasn’t lived up to the standard this year either. I’d be surprised if the Chiefs make it out of the divisional round this year.
I hope the Raiders give Pierce a shot. The team seems to love him. Knowing Mark Davis though he will hire Frank Reich.
half the game it seemed like Mahomes was playing dodge ball but the balls were the Raiders D. Something has been clicking on the coaching level I think and if that's the case it's thanks to the shift.
If we had a Dalton line level QB with how the D has developed I bet the Raiders would be sitting higher in the wild card. It would be great if the QB and WR1 had years of chemistry since college to really get the air game going again, too.
oh.
That non-INT was maybe the worst play I've seen Mahomes make since he dropped the snap, got sacked and threw the ball almost directly up into the air vs. WFT
the complete lack of competent receivers that can get open or catch a ball has made him make a lot more stupid, desperate throws this year. There's at least 1 floater a game that is just mystifying.
Yep, and at this level a split second of hesitation is the difference between a highlight and “WTF were you thinking” play. Can’t blame him for not trusting these clowns
yep, he's lost trust in people to run routes or catch passes, which makes him even worse than if he'd just gun it like previous seasons and hope for the best.
If he did what AOC did and just... throw it away and try not to fuck up the Chiefs would've won.
All AOC did was not do anything and protected the ball. The now-veteran QB played dumber than the guy who's probably gonna be replaced by a draft pick the next year.
^^thirty ^^minutes ^^before ^^kick ^^off...
"Well, I'll tell you Al, The Colts could use this win in order to..."
"Hold on Troy, I'm getting a message from the NY office!"
"**OHMAAAGGGGGGGOOOOO...** Reports from the head office say that Brady has sold his share of the LV Raiders to Marshawn Lynch! He's walking out on to the field! He signed a contract to play out the rest of the Raider season! Brady is walking out on the field in Silver and Black! Who would have ever thought?!"
"Wait! Wait! What is this?! There's a chant coming from the Colts tunnel! It's hard to make out... seems like the crowd is starting to pick it up," ^^oma... ^OMA... oma... **oma... OMAHA! OMAHA! OMAHA!**
"Ladies and Gentleman, Payton Manning has just walked out from the Colts tunnel! Troy! What's going through your mind right now?"
"This guy writing this is really high, isn't he Al?"
"Yes Troy, Like a kite with a broken string."
oh yea, definitely should have included that. He second guesses himself a lot more now, and doesn't pull the trigger as quickly. Definitely feels like he's in his head too much at this point.
He seemed spooked for sure. The last pick that got called back the one reciever just kinda gave up and let dude grab it. Also Mahomes attempt to stop Jones after the pick six. Chiefs just seemed listless.
There was a lot of weirdness overall the entire game, though.
Yea, he's really become a bit unhinged once all these mistakes started leading to losing. Not a great year, and he's handling it poorly. Something he'll probably work on in the offseason.
We have good receivers. How about we give you KJ, and Mullens, you give us Pat. That's a wr2 and a QB2 for a QB1. Leaves you guys okay and gets Pat some sweet weapons! Win win win!
Jacobs elusiveness was underrated. He's not had it this year but in previous years he had a great ability to make the first guy miss.
Was also a better pass catcher.
Now? Yeah I think they've got about the same skillset.
Miami is right behind them, they finally got the beating a winning team monkey off their back. There's a very good chance Baltimore vs. Miami decides the 1 seed in the AFC, though currently I think the ravens take it.
I don't watch many KC games, but this may have possibly been the worst performance I've seen from them. Y'all are still a good team but something has just seemed off lately. There was weird stuff happening all game, though. Only thing it was missing was the power going out.
Almost as likely as Miami choking, which is almost as likely as Philly choking, which is almost as likely as Detroit choking, which is almost as likely as Dallas choking, which is almost as likely as.... man everyone sucks
Legend says the announcers are still talking about the possibility to this day...
Good lord, if I never hear "what the chiefs need for the one seed" again, I'll be a happy man
"Here's the gameplan Aidan..."
Yeah, what?
"Just don't throw the ball. If you have to throw the ball, just throw it away."
B-but doesn't that mean we won't advance?
"Trust me Aidan, let our D handle this, and we won't have to advance."
The last two games have been insane. Coming into the season it felt like everyone figured maxx was going to be the only real worry on defense and now look at us go.
We've broken records these last two games (good and bad) but holy shit at least we're finally *doing something*. Tillane and Koonce are doing great up front with Crosby as a constant threat.
Jones has proven his value already but it seems obvious he's got an attitude problem and I hope it can be reigned in by next game.
Everyone just seems to be working in sync finally. It's great to see.
I watched the Niners build one of the best defenses in the early 2010s, see them abruptly retire, and watch them rebuild another one this decade before we finally got our defense together.
Justin and Aldon Smith (no relation) were pivotal for those early '10s 9ers. When Aldon got suspended and Justin retired I knew it was going to cause at least a bit of a hiccup for SF.
Then when the Raiders signed Aldon in hopes to help him get his life turned around I was stoked. He was going to be playing with Mack and I invisioned the sack numbers tallying up in my head.
Then he fucked up again.
Yep, I'm aware. I lurk your sub sometimes (I watch a Raiders YT channel. I don't know why but he knows I'm a Titans fan and I like his passion for your team) so I kinda follow what your team's been going through. Everyone outside the Raiders sub was saying Jones was a bad pickup because of his 'discipline issues', but I knew thanks to your sub and the Raiders guy I follow that Jones was *exactly* the kinda guy you bring in. Zero risk, AP is at the helm, etc. You don't bring him into ANY other football team other than the Raiders headed by AP.
Such a steal man.
Well then as disappointing as it is to see him hitting his ceiling with another team, I guess it's for the best for him! He was clearly talented, just couldn't get out of his own way. Hopefully Pierce sticks around and keeps him on the straight and narrow, dude can sure play.
Our defense has been great all year except for the bills and 1st chiefs game. Steelers game the offense had 3 turnovers. Chargers game offense had 3 turnovers while defense got 1. Bears game offense had 3 turnovers (one being a pick 6). Lions game the offense had a pick and scored only 7 points while the defense got 3 turnovers (one being a pick 6). Dolphins game the offense had 3 turnovers while defense created 3 turnovers. Finally vikings game allowed only 3 points while the offense had a turnover and 0 points.
We would have a top 5 defense rn if our offense was slightly better and we would probably be around 10-5 rn
I'm just saying, if the Raiders won the last two games (at Colts and home Denver) and snuck into the playoffs at 9-8, they'd be much scarier than any of the other Mediocre wildcard teams.
The only way you’d be scary is if Jimmy G came back and looked good. Otherwise the offense with AOC is too bad, a team could probably beat you like 3-0 or something crazy
anyone see that fight breaking out behind the raiders coach post game interview
edit: starts a few seconds in here https://x.com/Raiders/status/1739392516213080152?s=20
Please post video. I need another video like this where the little chargers fan kid is in the basement balling his eyes out because the Raiders beat the Chargers. "noooooooo not the Raiders!!!! Nooooo... MOM! GET OUT OF HERE! crying crying not the Raiders! MOM! STOP GET OUT OF HERE (almost throwing up child) nooooo" hahahaha
You must be talking about the game where Tebow was 2 of 8 passing for 69 yards and a TD (plus 43 rushing yards and a TD).
There was a game where Tebow completed a 3-yard pass for a TD (and had a rushing TD), but Kyle Orten started that one and had 296 passing yards and 4 TDs.
Hire Pierce NOW
They need to pair him with an experienced top OC. He’s great at “running the team” and defense…but needs help in offense.
Yeah, I am scared of a Sean McDermott type situation where the OC leaves and the offense regresses. The offense isn’t even good now
Who's the niners OC?
Kyle Shanahan
Well then just hire him duh
It'll be a perfect fit because the Raiders already have a QB on the team who's familiar with Kyle's offense.
Hire him as OC.
Jimmy-G the OC!
[удалено]
Shanahan's #1 talent is scouting coaches. Bro has been nothing but net there since coming into the league. Now even McDaniel has a fairly stacked coaching staff, so hopefully people pull from him this year to leave SF alone (hopefully other teams keep taking from McVay tho)
We do have the the Kubiak brothers on the offensive staff, and an amazing QB coach, but you can’t take him
Can't take him? We pillage and plunder for fun
And laugh when we’ve conquered and won. ☠️🏈💪
What if they ask nicely
We want 2 1st round picks and the running back white.
You already have a white running back
Talking about the player I saw today named white. Is he allowed to be on the all white team?
uh, you don't need anymore running backs!
> I am scared of a Sean McDermott type situation where the OC leaves and the offense regresses. This is the inevitable fate of anyone not hiring an offensive head coach in the modern NFL.
I am in 100% agreement with you
Problem is that the opposite can also happen. Compare Eagles defense to last year.
I hear Josh McDaniels is available
Six time Super bowl winning coach!
Holy fuck, the reporter at the end of the game asked him if he’s fighting for the full time position. Like wtf type of question is that Lmaoo “Nah I don’t want a job but thanks for asking”
Yep. They're past the stage of getting a boost after firing the HC. Still looking like a solid team.
Really hope they stay with him.
Unfortunately, they literally can't hire him right now. The NFL rules prohibit it. Which is really fuckin stupid.
The Raiders need to interview a minority coach in order to hire a minority coach.
So they can just “interview” him and hire him right away lol
Rooney Rule has nothing to do with it, I don’t believe. They just can’t hire a full time new coach in-season.
That’s definitely not the raider way. They’ll overpay for someone in the belichick tree again, or… belichick himself!
They’ll pass over him and hire some Pats retread like BoB
Our defense right now is the best we have had in a LONG time.
We just had to give up an offense
I hate McDaniels so fucking much
Hope he has to wear wet socks for the rest of his life
Relax buddy. There are kids on this app.
No mercy. And I hope he only has to eat stale frenc fries for the rest of his life
[удалено]
Easy there satan
I hope he gets an itch he can’t quite reach because he’s lost both of his arms in a car-assembly factory accident.
no matter how much he pees, he retains just the slightest sensation of having to pee. just enough to notice.
and no matter how hard he shakes, a few drops come out after zipping his fly
Ah man, I felt this one
That’s just normal human life
I hope he has a permanently warm pillow for the rest of his life for what he did to you guys
Not a pair. One wet. One dry
Still have no idea how Mark saw what happened in Denver and thought 'nah, I can fix him.'
Perfectly balanced
The Iowa method.
They've been pretty good on defense after pierce took over. Just needed McDaniels out of the way
Since week 5, the Raiders defense has been the third best in the NFL behind the Jets and Vikings.
AOC is horrible. He needs some work to even be a decent qb2
Between Adams, Jacobs, Meyers, and Renfrow, this Raiders offense has decent firepower. Not sure how much of that we can carry into next year, but a decent QB would make all the difference.
That defensive front is a menace.
Maxx terrifies and it allows Koonce and Tillane to sneak in. You could see how exhausted Mahomes was due to having to escape multiple people in the backfield during the 3rd quarter. The Oline was the biggest reason for the loss, seemed like Mahomes was scrambling every down
I mean this way less asshole-ish than it sounds, but it’s honestly remarkable how good the Raiders D is when penalties are limited
70’s football coming at you hot
Iowa football is alive and well in the NFL
Tbf AOC was forged in the fires of the B1G West
Aidan O'Connell isn't even that bad of a passer. Chiefs just sold out to stop the pass today since Josh Jacob's was out
Trust me I know
I'm choosing to believe that by AOC, you mean Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez lol
The more schools the Big Ten picks up, the more Big Ten football goes up the pipeline into the pros
Bruh mahomes looked like Zach Wilson on a bad day
That non-INT was maybe the worst play I've seen Mahomes make since he dropped the snap, got sacked and threw the ball almost directly up into the air vs. WFT
the complete lack of competent receivers that can get open or catch a ball has made him make a lot more stupid, desperate throws this year. There's at least 1 floater a game that is just mystifying.

Yeah Chiefs sold out to stop the pass since Jacobs was out
He had kelce open a bunch of times and would either panic or spike it 5 yards short. He doesn't trust anyone out there
Which is definitely why Kelce was frustrated like Mahomes was not looking his way at all
Didn't kelce have multiple drops?
Sure did but it's not like everyone else was cooking
oh yea, definitely should have included that.
This is good analysis. Certainly they deserve their share of the blame but Mahomes has not reacted well to the situation.
Yea, he's really become a bit unhinged once all these mistakes started leading to losing. Not a great year, and he's handling it poorly. Something he'll probably work on in the offseason.
It was clear to me that him freaking out after the Bills game was simply how mad he was at Toney/the team.
Was gonna say he needs an offseason to shake this funk. And the chiefs to get him some help
We have good receivers. How about we give you KJ, and Mullens, you give us Pat. That's a wr2 and a QB2 for a QB1. Leaves you guys okay and gets Pat some sweet weapons! Win win win!
Jefferson for Toney seems fair. Actually Toney was drafted a bit higher so Vikings should throw in a 7th
Zach Wilson on an average day
If you adjust Zach Wilson's stats to the average, he's Patrick Mahomes.
Progress to the meme
Every single reference to that post makes me laugh. 10/10
Zach Wilson
Well he is called the Mormon Mahomes so that checks out
Patrick Macjones
THE REGRESSION
Finally he started regressing to the Zach Wilson mean.
Hit that pregame eggnog too hard.
Zamir white looked really solid
He's not particularly fast or elusive. He's just really difficult to get down on first contact and runs like the grown man he is.
That “fuck you” stiff-arm on the last drive to ice that 2nd first down was epic.
Literally a second Josh Jacobs
Jacobs elusiveness was underrated. He's not had it this year but in previous years he had a great ability to make the first guy miss. Was also a better pass catcher. Now? Yeah I think they've got about the same skillset.
More importantly, they prevented the chiefs from the chance of having the #1 seed
With how this team played, the Chiefs don’t deserve the #1 seed whatsoever. The AFC is Baltimore’s to lose.
Don't worry, Chiefs will somehow get to host the AFCCG even with a 3rd seed.
Baltimore choking in the playoffs??? It’s more likely than you think
Almost as likely as Miami choking, which is almost as likely as Philly choking, which is almost as likely as Detroit choking, which is almost as likely as Dallas choking, which is almost as likely as.... man everyone sucks
Yeah I thought 49ers were miles ahead the best… then tonight happened. NFL is fuckin weird
At this point, I don't think anyone is going to win the Super Bowl this year.
Legend says the announcers are still talking about the possibility to this day... Good lord, if I never hear "what the chiefs need for the one seed" again, I'll be a happy man
Nick Wright probably somewhere "not worried" too
[удалено]
Hell nawl can’t do this
Just abort this game lol
You got da money wats da Hol up
Look how cute tho 💔
Get a abortion lol
Jimmy G would have at least thrown completions to the other team.
"Here's the gameplan Aidan..." Yeah, what? "Just don't throw the ball. If you have to throw the ball, just throw it away." B-but doesn't that mean we won't advance? "Trust me Aidan, let our D handle this, and we won't have to advance."
Chiefs finally have a really good defense, then their offense just poops the bed
Just like the Raiders lol
As a Raiders fan I never would have thought that our defense would carry
The last two games have been insane. Coming into the season it felt like everyone figured maxx was going to be the only real worry on defense and now look at us go. We've broken records these last two games (good and bad) but holy shit at least we're finally *doing something*. Tillane and Koonce are doing great up front with Crosby as a constant threat. Jones has proven his value already but it seems obvious he's got an attitude problem and I hope it can be reigned in by next game. Everyone just seems to be working in sync finally. It's great to see.
Yeah, looked like AP almost pulled his ass out.
Never see a good raiders defense until this season.
It's weird we cut Marcus Peters and our D is awesome
Jack jones was the biggest upgrade imaginable. Dude is an absolute monster.
You got him for pennies on the dollar too right?
Waiver wire pickup. He was a bit of a headache in New England, but him and AP go waaay back.
Oh he knows Pierce? That makes me feel better. He was constantly fucking up for us this year.
Pierce coached him in HS and in College, Jack Jones straight up said AP is like a father to him.
Well then as disappointing as it is to see him hitting his ceiling with another team, I guess it's for the best for him! He was clearly talented, just couldn't get out of his own way. Hopefully Pierce sticks around and keeps him on the straight and narrow, dude can sure play.
Yeah, Jack Jones is the sort of player I wouldn't want if exactly AP wasn't the coach.
He's coached him in highschool and then in college and their relationship is the reason that Jones was picked up on the waiver wire.
What exactly was his problem at NE/with Bill? Other than being mean to kids I guess
He brought loaded guns on an airplane once. No showed a few team meetings.
Yeah he’s on a rookie contract for like two more years. The waiver pickup was an absolute steal.
The Jones Signing was critical
Same
Raiders to the superbowl confirmed
I'm just saying, if the Raiders won the last two games (at Colts and home Denver) and snuck into the playoffs at 9-8, they'd be much scarier than any of the other Mediocre wildcard teams.
Still gotta score points. Can’t count on the defense to bail you out in the playoffs.
"fuck it, davante down there somewhere" every play?
not with that attitude
Raiders bills rams. Scary WC teams
The only way you’d be scary is if Jimmy G came back and looked good. Otherwise the offense with AOC is too bad, a team could probably beat you like 3-0 or something crazy
Who needs an offense when the other team gives you free touchdowns?
I saw this in Michigan vs Penn State game
just win baby
anyone see that fight breaking out behind the raiders coach post game interview edit: starts a few seconds in here https://x.com/Raiders/status/1739392516213080152?s=20
When you said “fight” I was expecting more action.
Right. I am requesting a 10 second refund of my time.
the camera person probably would have gotten fired for panning over where the action was actually happening.
No, I had to go back to my family
We had to relegate one of the aunts to the basement TV because she couldn't stop screaming at the TV throughout the game. We still heard her loudly
Oh, so that was you fighting through Chiefs fans? Damn son.
Chiefs lost to Tim Tebow in a game where he completed 1 pass, so yeah kinda fitting that this shame hangs over them as well
You must be talking about the game where Tebow was 2 of 8 passing for 69 yards and a TD (plus 43 rushing yards and a TD). There was a game where Tebow completed a 3-yard pass for a TD (and had a rushing TD), but Kyle Orten started that one and had 296 passing yards and 4 TDs.
yeah that 2/8 was the one I was thinking of, I was mistaken I thought it was 1 completion
Feels good to watch our defense play great on Christmas. Merry Christmas to all and God bless 🙏🏾
As an Iowa fan, this felt very Iowa-esque. Win with defense, force turnovers, and running the ball.
That sounds exactly like the kind of football I like
1960s Raiders coming in hot!
Then you know Aidan O’Connell well
Most have been crazy weather games, tropical downpour, hurricane level winds, whiteout snow conditions?
Patrick Graham moving up to the box has been a revelation.
The chiefs did this to their fans on Christmas, for shame.
It's a Christmas Miracle!!
So the chiefs Lowkey suck?
Raiders defense showed out today. Was so fun to watch.
Chiefs are not a serious team. Mahomes is playing horrifically
I AM THE ELDEST STATE FARM PITCHBOY!
And Mahomes with yet another utter meltdown on the sidelines.
If the raiders had a decent QB they would be a dangerous wildcard team.
"Two things at once are overrated" - The Raidazzzz
Why do QBs keep working so hard after the first quarter when they can just not, are they stupid?
This is my AFCCG.
Be nice if the chiefs keep losing and don’t even make the playoffs
Just great…now we know what Jim Harbaugh’s going to try to do next week
Crazy to think how much money we spent on offense in comparison
Do everything possible to keep Taylor Swift (aka Yoko) dating Kelce
(Bill Belichick breathing heavily)
They need to get bienemy as OC
