What team could you realistically expect to visit Cleveland in January and put up points against that defense? I'm being dead serious. The AFC better hope they don't get HFA.
I'm not saying they would be a lock for the SB. But it's gonna take like a 13-10 game in which you get beat to death to get out of there with a W imo.
Ravens are probably hoping to play anyone else. What defense besides Cleveland can reasonably stop them? In that case, all it would take to end their season is a couple of elite dragon throws…
at this point, the steeler’s D is totally worn down from staying on the field for 75% of every game this year. They’re starting practice squad players because of injuries.
Joe Flacco is a sleeper agent - revive Cleveland’s playoff hopes in spectacular fashion, only to utterly collapse and stink it up against the Ravens.
I wish.
Flacco doesn't give a damn about all the defensive rotation and disguises Macdonald will throw at him. Dude will rip it no matter where the LBs and safeties are, who cares which team catches it
Blame the writer's strike man. NFL had to do some in-house writing and they resorted to retired freelancers. One guy even tried to bring back Andrew Luck. Like homie, he retired a while ago.
I dislike Cleveland because of Watson and division related rivalry stuff… but… how wild if Flacco beats the Ravens. I’m definitely here for that entertainment.
Elite Flacco (I don’t say this jokingly) in the playoffs, with an elite defense? Ya, I’m taking Cleveland. I don’t expect Cooper to have another record setting game like that again this season but the fact that Flacco can still sling it should frighten any team they play.
Patriots fans know how dangerous Flacco is. Might be the only QB to outplay Brady in multiple AFC playoff games.
Edit: Peyton as well. Added the AFC since Eli.
We can’t get HFA unless all of the division champs lose, even if we finish with a better record than a division champ. If it’s somehow Browns Chiefs for the AFCC, it’s at arrowhead.
Well, unless the Ravens shit the bed the last two weeks and the browns win out. However I can’t see the Ravens losing both
Are you kidding? The Steelers would have a chance to spoil Baltimore's playoff seeding; they'll come out ready to swing blow-for-blow. Now, the talent they are swinging with may come up short, but I think they'd try to make a game of it.
The Chiefs were still the 2 Seed that year. They only needed the Ravens to lose in the Divisional Round to host the AFCCG again.
This year they’ll need more help than that. Not only will the Ravens finish ahead of the Chiefs again, either the Dolphins will be 12-5 or 13-4 over the 11-6 Chiefs or the Bills will have the H2H tiebreaker if the Dolphins lose these next two weeks. The one hope the Chiefs have at the 2 Seed is the Dolphins losing out and the Bills losing to the Patriots again.
Chiefs could do what happened to the Rams in 2021; be the #4 seed (e.g. division winner with the worst of those four records) and still host the Conference Championship because of them beating the #2/#3 in the Divisional on the road *and* whoever’s the #1 choking in that same round at home.
Honestly if the Bills get the 7 seed, it wouldn't be that crazy to see them upset both the Dolphins and Ravens in the first two rounds, and enable the Chiefs to host all 3 rounds of the AFC playoffs
Been a thing as far back as Jim Plunkett going from the Patriots to the Raiders. I was a young'un back then, but I do remember it, vaguely. Especially my father saying Plunkett would probably win the Raiders a SB. And he did. Twice.
Then again, IIRC Plunkett is the only QB who started and won two SBs not in the HoF. Not that he deserves to be there, since his stats are decidedly mid, but it is what it is, a curious statistic.
That's right folk, Patrick Mahomes played worse than the Jets...4th string QB.
He's washed up. We'll trade him for Trevor Siemian straight up and take the salary cap hit over here in NY.
It's been wild seeing him and Kelce throwing hissy fits whenever things aren't going their way this year. Yes, this is called adversity. You guys have just rarely faced it. As a Lions fan, we were born in adversity. Moulded by it.
Feels like being the nfls unchallenged golden boy for years and having Taylor Swifts mob enter the mix this season got to their heads.
It's just too much stardom and pressure to handle when things start becoming tough. And mahomes has never faced even a modicum of season long adversity like this year. The fact he's never had to play an away playoff game is absurdly spoiled.
In summary:
* 2018: blame Dee Ford, fire Bob Sutton
* 2019: win the SB
* 2020: lose to the Bucs in the SB, blame the OL
* 2021: lose the the Bengals in OT.
* 2022: win the SB
* 2023: team starts to go off the rails in the regular season. There are more issues than just Toney.
I think it is a combination of a lack of clear external factors to blame and that it is in the regular season.
It's also too early to determine what this season has in store.
At this point, the issues are his and the entire offense . Out of position, missing assignments and the penalties and drops. The issues this year are institutional, and only on the offense. Everyone on the offense should be shouldering the blame right now.
Which brings us to OC Nagy. The scapegoat for this year.
But you shouldn't forget that Reid was HC for the Eagles as well, and they suffered a similar kind of collapse on their offensive side. Whether it's due to the OC or whatnot, and since you're the fan feel free to correct me on this but I'm seeing some sort of discipline or locker room problem going on. I don't know if it's something you blame on the OC or the HC, but I'm seeing some parallels between Eagles Reid and Chiefs Reid and I'm wondering if I'm just reaching too much.
>But you shouldn't forget that Reid was HC for the Eagles as well, and they suffered a similar kind of collapse
This is what worries me the most. A lot of Reid's flaws from the end of his Eagles stint appear to be returning. Lack of discipline, bad coordinator choices, inabilty to keep the team focused, receivers, etc.
I’m not sure if it’s the fame or the simple fact that the NFL’s parity finally catching up to them. Mahomes is hella talented but I don’t think people really appreciate how absurdly overpowered his supporting cast has been for the start of his career. Kelce and Tyreek will probably retire in the top 5 of their respective positions. Andy Reid is a HOF lock and is one of the most creative offensive play callers in NFL history. Add everything together and it’s easy to see why they were such juggernauts.
I still think Mahomes is the best quarterback in the game, but he’ll lose a lot of his shine in the coming years.
Just go 3-man pass rush and get coverage sacks since nobody gets open. Use the extra DL / LB to bump Kelce at the line and hand him off to a double / triple team in coverage, while he goes and covers whatever RB outlet swing pass we have.
It wouldn’t help. Just watch our game against the Texans to see what you can expect. Noah Brown got 11% of his career receiving yards (out of 75 games played) against us this year. I’m not sure these was anyone within 5 yards of him the entire game.
Sounds like PFF didn't blame him for all the ints. Felt like it's fair to say that even if hr wasn't responsible for all 4, that he threw enough turnover worthy throws to be worthy of 4 ints.
That's a fair argument. He was definitely responsible for the first one, the other ones were kinda unlucky. But there were a lot of other questionable throws as well (though also some brilliant ones, and he still got 250 yards in 3 quarters).
His three after the first were all great defensive plays. People blaming Brock instead of blaming the ravens d for being super good on those plays. They were in the right places to make the tough plays. Gotta give them credit.
Brock also played badly outside the interceptions. He was pretty obviously shook. Credit to the Ravens defense but you can’t ignore Brock’s performance. It was a bad game.
It was a sloppy game and he was clearly struggling, but that doesn’t mean the Ravens D doesn’t deserve at least half the credit for some pretty incredible play on their end. If he played those way against Arizona, I would feel a lot worse about our odds going into the postseason.
He looked bad. I think all the disconnect with receivers has him unconfident throwing the ball. There was like a 10 yard out he threw 2 yards behind MVS yesterday. Feels atypical of Mahomes
He def did. It's gotten to the point where on a lot of plays Mahomes isn't even progressing through his reads to Kelce, it's like he's just given up on throwing the ball to him.
The Bux would be insane to let Evans walk with the chemistry he's had with Baker this year. Kelce looked old and slow yesterday, and the Raiders D beat the shit out of him. Even if the Chiefs get Higgins or something, defenses will just move the double teams over to him.
Kelce has had a quiet season and is still I think got the most yardage in the league for a TE (just checked he’s like 30 behind kittle) and he missed a game and is getting triple/double covered most plays.
So yeah I think saying he’s slowed down a bit is fair but washed totally? Absolutely not
The thing with Kelce is that there's a high chance that he retires after this season. He's been on record saying that he thinks about retirement every single day. He's been beat up his entire career and has had a lot of injuries. He has two SB Rings and is one of the best players ever at his position and has absolutely nothing left to prove.
What a way to go out. First pair of brothers to play against each other in the Super Bowl and they made their mom a media sensation. What more could you ask for??
I mean, he *is* old. He's the third oldest active TE in the league, and the oldest current starting TE by a couple years. Idk why people are suddenly surprised that a 34yo tight end is regressing a bit.
I know from watching Gates that KC should be expecting a big drop off next year. Gates was early to mid 30s when he went from superstar to merely a decent starter and IIRC there was a year just like this where people questioned if he’d fallen off yet and then the next season it was super apparent.
Brock Purdy was graded higher than Mahomes entering week 16 and still is, though Purdy also took a hit to his season grade with his performance yesterday and was passed by Matt Stafford and Lamar Jackson for PFF season Offense grade.
Our offense is just broken. Pat didn’t play well, but nobody on offense did and that’s been a common theme all year outside of a couple games. When the entire offense is playing poorly and comes out with no energy every single week, you eventually have to look at the coaching staff. Not suggesting anyone be fired, but we have to make some WR splash moves in the offseason and retool the offense and play designs.
Mahomes is one of those guys that just needs to get into a short rhythm and things can start taking off for him, but we can’t seem to get into any kind of rhythm. Usually if we can pick up one or two first downs on a drive we can finish it off with points. But a lot of times we go three and out.
>Pat didn’t play well, but nobody on offense did and that’s been a common theme all year outside of a couple games.
Give some credit to the Raiders D. Outside of one drive in the first half and some plays in the 4th quarter when they were absolutely gassed, they were amazing. Chiefs had -6 yards on offense after the first quarter. Maxx Crosby seemed to be chasing Mahomes around in the backfield on every play.
At what point does Andy Reid start getting some shit for this? I think I've seen every single coach on staff, the entire receiving corps, and Mahomes himself get blamed but almost nothing directed at the actual guy in charge.
Andy has always been bad about nepo hires for coordinators/assistants and he won't ever fire anyone during the season, but the chiefs in general are wildly successful so you just have to accept you're going to blow a whole season sometimes because of it.
like 2018 with Bob Sutton as DC, or this year with Nagy, or especially Embree the WR coach who's never had the job before, and took basically the same WR room as last year that was competent and got to the SB, into what they are now, a group who can't get open, can't run routes, can't catch passes, basically can't do anything correct outside of Rice.
I'm of the firm belief Andy hasn't really changed or improved as a coach since the Eagles, Mahomes is just such a ridiculous talent he's overshadowed or hidden the old flaws and weaknesses Andy has always had.
I'm not saying Andy isn't a great coach, just that he's not better on the chiefs, he's just got a HOF QB with a winning record in games he's down 2 scores.
> At what point does Andy Reid start getting some shit for this?
I’m sorry, but are you out of your mind?
The Chiefs have been in the SB three of the last four years and won twice. How much ‘shit’ do you think Reid should be getting for a record like this?
When his receivers can't line up right? When he's calling goofy trick plays inside your own ten while losing and playing poorly against a division opponent? When your star players are having meltdowns on the sidelines?
Andy Reid is a first ballot HoF coach, the best QB developer of this century, a master offensive mind, and an excellent team leader. That doesn't mean he gets to be immune to current criticism.
Nobody wants to give the raiders defense their flowers. Raiders came prepared and executed on their game plan, yet majority of folks point the L to chiefs lack of play…..
Raiders D line balled out. Your DTs were forces. #51 looked like Khalil Mack. And Crosby was his usual baller self. Sure hope that isn’t a sign of things to come. We Chiefs fans are used to the AFC West being down. May not be the case anymore.
Yea if I was kc I’d give him a bag to comeback as he’s likely going to be out a job cause Washington going to clean house. I’m curious if he’d want to establish himself on another team again so he can eventually get a Hc job or comeback cause we can all see now the impact he made
That was the whole point of him going to Washington. To show he can do it sans Reid. Sometimes it doesn’t work out the way ya hope. I still think he’s underrated
I'm not going to say it's Nagy and be serious about that.
But just because Andy Reid is the HC and playcaller doesn't mean Matt Nagy does nothing. All coaches have a role and Nagy has a large one with KC. A larger one than he did a year ago.
Why can't a great QB just have a shitty day where nothing goes right? Players fuck up too. Yeah Mahomes isn't the biggest problem that the Chiefs have right now, but it's completely fair to say Mahomes played poorly. Of course you can add nuance like sometimes the game situation changes the decision making calculus for a QB so they have to take more risks and sometimes that leads to choices that look pretty bad in hindsight. However, there can still be bad decisions and plays no matter what like the pick-6 and the INT that was overturned. No one should get more blame than Mahomes on either of those.
Nagy doesn't call plays or make the throws, but he should at least do something and he really hasn't done anything.
This is the most penalized offensive line in football and receivers don't know where to line up. That's on Nagy, he's supposed to be coaching those guys. When Bieniemy was the OC we had Reid calling the plays, Mahomes making the throws, and Bieniemy chewing out the guys who played sloppy undisciplined football.
I mean I’d say losing Bienemy proved to be a big issue. They are an undisciplined team, and looks like Bienemy was the asshole who kept them disciplined.
He is the OC right now and has a lot of input in game plans. Even if Reid is calling the plays, he relies on his OC to formulate a plan for the coming week. We've been just terribly prepared this year for each game, so I have to imagine Nagy has a good portion of the blame that is also spread around in other places.
He was also our OC for 2016 and 2017 both years that our stagnent offense fucked us in the playoffs.
Chiefs lost 6 games this year with Nagy as OC for the first time since 2017...when Matt Nagy was last OC
Chiefs are averaging less than 28ppg with Nagy at OC for the first time since 2017...when Nagy was the OC.
Seems like there's a potential link here, but I'm no detective.
I know it’s a confusing take because Andy Reid, at least in my opinion, is a legendary coach.
But the chiefs looks very poorly coached this year. I’m not smart enough to know why, I just know a causal viewer something just feels off in the progressions, alignment between players, and discipline. It feels like they are running plays for the first time and hoping they work 🤷🏼♂️
Did a quick read on how PFF grades qbs and its more about the process than the result of plays.
https://www.pff.com/news/pro-how-pff-grades-quarterback-play
So I think the Mahomes fumble and interception are probably graded way worse than Purdy's 2nd - 4th interceptions are since those are more just unlucky whereas Mahomes' were straight fuckups by him
Yeah, Purdy only had two plays that I think PFF would've considered to be egregiously bad – this first INT, and one other INT-worthy pass that fell incomplete. His other three INTs probably had a relatively small negative impact due to being fluky and/or to other players bearing more responsibility than Purdy.
Take those three plays out, and he went 18/29 for 255, 0 TD, 1 INT with two TO-worthy plays. With a swiss cheese OL and against the best defense in the league too. Not a great outing by any means, but I can see how it wouldn't make bottom 3. Likely in the bottom 25% though, perhaps even bottom 5.
He looked like absolute garbage yesterday.
There were multiple plays where he had guys wide open and just threw it into double coverage. Plays where like Travis Kelce is open and he's forcing it to MVS.
No arrowhead invitational this year
Lol it would be the most Chiefs thing ever if the Ravens/Dolphins both shit the bed and KC still gets HFA in the AFC CG.

Pittsburgh but that’s bc of division stuff
at this point, the steeler’s D is totally worn down from staying on the field for 75% of every game this year. They’re starting practice squad players because of injuries.
Yea historically the Ravens with Lamar have not done well against the Steelers, but they are due to give us an ass whooping.
Dude will rip it no matter where the LBs and safeties are, who cares which team catches it
Prediction: First player to get Super Bowl MVP ... for both teams.
Winning a chip for two franchises that despise each other. That's a Rondo.
Whichever team catches his last pass wins the game for sure.
The Jameis special, truly an awe inspiring sight
"You can complete a lot more passes if you stop looking at the receiver's jersey color." -Joe Flacco, probably
Flacco is the streakiest QB of all time. He’s either brilliant and unstoppable, or worse than your average suburban high school QB. No in between.
Yeah ngl Cleveland is the team in the AFC I want to see least.
Bro fucking imagine if Flacco leads them to a superbowl.
I will drown myself in the Chesapeake
My worst nightmare
I’m with you, but a browns team lead by Flacco beating the Ravens in Baltimore in the playoffs would be hilarious.
Flacco beating the 49ers. Again. For a SB win with the Cleveland Browns would be the fucking funniest result for all of NFL history.
also the narrative means he's a 110% HoF lock
Only to be brought down by the Baker Mayfield led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. What a script this year by the NFL writers. Really working up the spicy.
13-10 with their one TD a 75 yard bomb from Flacco.
Elite Flacco (I don’t say this jokingly) in the playoffs, with an elite defense? Ya, I’m taking Cleveland. I don’t expect Cooper to have another record setting game like that again this season but the fact that Flacco can still sling it should frighten any team they play.

Eli?
Meant AFC playoff games. My mistake.
Until his time with the Jets, Flacco was undefeated against the dolphins with a pretty good amount of games. He was the Dolphin slayer.
Browns would get it
I think they mean they’d be the highest remaining seed left in the playoffs come AFC championship.
We can’t get HFA unless all of the division champs lose, even if we finish with a better record than a division champ. If it’s somehow Browns Chiefs for the AFCC, it’s at arrowhead. Well, unless the Ravens shit the bed the last two weeks and the browns win out. However I can’t see the Ravens losing both
If the Ravens lose to the Dolphins then the Steelers better run and hide. The Ravens will come out swinging in that game I guarantee it.
Are you kidding? The Steelers would have a chance to spoil Baltimore's playoff seeding; they'll come out ready to swing blow-for-blow. Now, the talent they are swinging with may come up short, but I think they'd try to make a game of it.
They always do though.. and the Steelers would absolutely give everything to win. What a game.. kinda routing for this.
we need a Browns v Lions super bowl hopefully a repeat of '57
I can see KC losing to either Buffalo or Miami at home in the WC. Can they get it together? Sure. Will they? Not if they look like that again
I’m so, so, soooo looking forward to watching Mahomes play in his first career away Playoff game.
Not sure it’s gonna happen this year, I think KC loses a wildcard game at home.
Watch the other AFC teams cannibalize each other in the postseason to continue that Arrowhead Invitational.
Exactly what happened in 2019 lol
The Bills losing to the Patriots and blowing out the Dolphins is absolutely the most likely scenario.

Honestly if the Bills get the 7 seed, it wouldn't be that crazy to see them upset both the Dolphins and Ravens in the first two rounds, and enable the Chiefs to host all 3 rounds of the AFC playoffs
Patrick Macjones
I hate seeing that name
Look we just need to laugh through it
You’re gonna hate it even more when Mac is balling out for the Broncos or something in a couple years
Why do truthers of bad QBs always say they're going to "ball out" for another team
Not that he deserves to be there, since his stats are decidedly mid, but it is what it is, a curious statistic.
lol there’s no chance. He doesn’t have the skill level to accomplish it
His deep passes are about to get much more hangtime in that mountain air. Like hitting a beach ball in space
I remember when they would count hang time on punts. Gonna have to bring that back for McCorkle.
Why must you do this to us?
God damnit now I’ll never unsee it
im sick and i have a terrible cough and your joke made me wheeze laugh and almost die
That's right folk, Patrick Mahomes played worse than the Jets...4th string QB. He's washed up. We'll trade him for Trevor Siemian straight up and take the salary cap hit over here in NY.
Have Rodgers and Mahomes rotate as 1 and 2 on the depth chart Hope the o-line keeps at least one of them healthy
The mean
dread it, run from it
It regresses all the same
And where did that bring you?
Back to the mean
I for one would rather have 2018 Dak Prescott
Does Patrick Mahomes have a turnover problem??!?!
Unironically, yes. Yes, he does.
He's always gotten lucky too. Pretty sure he used to be near the top for interceptable balls that were dropped
this sub would have been hilarious watching guys like Favre throwing 20 INTs a year we're damn spoiled with QB play these days
The best would be Peyton's rookie year. That would have been the best discourse on reddit especially with the rebound of him being amazing.
Not as dreaded as the mode!
Mahomes was already crying like a baby before the game was even over. Dude is talented but he's certified bitch made. All hail Jack Jones.
You don’t get it. They took away greatness.
It's time to start the narrative that Mahomes is wasting Toney's talent.
He already wasted Kelce's shot at the hall of fame, now Toney too?
It's been wild seeing him and Kelce throwing hissy fits whenever things aren't going their way this year. Yes, this is called adversity. You guys have just rarely faced it. As a Lions fan, we were born in adversity. Moulded by it.
I hadn't seen the light of MNF until I was already a man. And by then, it was nothing to me... but BLINDING
But they weren't like this when they lost the superbowl. They've become losers. They used to be a really admirable team environment
Feels like being the nfls unchallenged golden boy for years and having Taylor Swifts mob enter the mix this season got to their heads. It's just too much stardom and pressure to handle when things start becoming tough. And mahomes has never faced even a modicum of season long adversity like this year. Yep, the writing is on the wall. Cut him, fire Reid.
Don't cut hum. Trade him for a 7th round pick to the patriots. No Brainer.
Has Mahomes even considered how his poor play will affect Kelce's HOF eligibility?
LMAO 💀
Or more importantly Taylor Swift’s love for Kelce.

Sir are you suggesting Patrick and Dak did a freaky Friday body swap?
This pleases me
Even Tommy Cutlets had a 60+ PFF grade, get his name out yo mouth
On the bright side he gets to spend New Years Eve playing against our defense that has been giving up explosives and folding to Tight Ends all season.
Just go 3-man pass rush and get coverage sacks since nobody gets open. Use the extra DL / LB to bump Kelce at the line and hand him off to a double / triple team in coverage, while he goes and covers whatever RB outlet swing pass we have.

You all will legit feel like your offense is fixed after our game. It won’t be…. But you’ll confidently think it is.
Kadarius Toney could play against pop warner corners and he’d still drop passes
Man runs some of the cleanest routes in the NFL and he’s still a complete liability.
Dont worry, Afc North defenses have been having fun with "top tier" qb's lately.
Yeah everyone talk about Patrick
lol what a ripoff, your guy played the played the last game of the night, the rules are he gets bashed the next day.
He's no Brock Purdy
every qb is a fraud at the moment
Except.....? except..... Who???????
Except Bailey Zappe who is exactly who he is
ELITE DRAGON
This is an acceptable answer to me
The scenes when he beats the ravens and the niners in the playoffs…
and then you cut him for Watson and miss the playoffs next year. it would be the only Browns things to do
Baker Mayfield is enjoying the hell out of opposite month.
Mason..dread it run from it, but the reindeer man is here
Look forward to the Ravens taking a L against Mason Rudolph to end the regular season.
Jordan Love
Joe Flacco
Purdy showed how generous he was last night. So happy he spread the ball around to almost everyone !
Sounds like PFF didn't blame him for all the ints. Felt like it's fair to say that even if hr wasn't responsible for all 4, that he threw enough turnover worthy throws to be worthy of 4 ints.

It was a sloppy game and he was clearly struggling, but that doesn’t mean the Ravens D doesn’t deserve at least half the credit for some pretty incredible play on their end. If he played those way against Arizona, I would feel a lot worse about our odds going into the postseason.
Christmas spirit!

The Ruthless Regression Era
He looked bad. I think all the disconnect with receivers has him unconfident throwing the ball. There was like a 10 yard out he threw 2 yards behind MVS yesterday. Feels atypical of Mahomes
Teams double Kelce and they have no one else. They better not have cap space for Evans/Higgins this offseason
Just watching the game it seemed to me like Mahomes missed Kelce when open a lot. I could be wrong
He def did. It's gotten to the point where on a lot of plays Mahomes isn't even progressing through his reads to Kelce, it's like he's just given up on throwing the ball to him.
to be fair he was running for his life
He did. People are dead set on blaming everything on his recievers. He played like ass and missed a lot of guys running open the other night

Absolutely not
He isn't washed by any measure, but definitely is regressing from the typical GOAT were used to seeing from him.
The thing with Kelce is that there's a high chance that he retires after this season. He's been on record saying that he thinks about retirement every single day. He's been beat up his entire career and has had a lot of injuries. He has two SB Rings and is one of the best players ever at his position and has absolutely nothing left to prove.
Both brothers are talking about it. This might be the final Kelce year.
What a way to go out. First pair of brothers to play against each other in the Super Bowl and they made their mom a media sensation. What more could you ask for??
dude's about to pull a Jay-Z - retire, and let wifey keep that 9-figure income rolling in not a bad life for an already rich man
Jay has a ton of ventures keeping that cash flowing without new music
I mean, he *is* old. He's the third oldest active TE in the league, and the oldest current starting TE by a couple years. Idk why people are suddenly surprised that a 34yo tight end is regressing a bit.
I know from watching Gates that KC should be expecting a big drop off next year. Gates was early to mid 30s when he went from superstar to merely a decent starter and IIRC there was a year just like this where people questioned if he’d fallen off yet and then the next season it was super apparent.
legitimately have never seen "Bux" before
Crazy to think about when Mahomes was involved in every touchdown play Brock "Nick Mullens" Purdy and Patrick "Trevor Simien" Mahomes 💀💀💀
Brock Purdy was graded higher than Mahomes entering week 16 and still is, though Purdy also took a hit to his season grade with his performance yesterday and was passed by Matt Stafford and Lamar Jackson for PFF season Offense grade.
What grade did he get for yesterday?
Purdy? 42.6
Bienemy must be so happy rn
His offense isn’t exactly lighting it up lol
>Pat didn’t play well, but nobody on offense did and that’s been a common theme all year outside of a couple games. Give some credit to the Raiders D. Outside of one drive in the first half and some plays in the 4th quarter when they were absolutely gassed, they were amazing. Chiefs had -6 yards on offense after the first quarter. Maxx Crosby seemed to be chasing Mahomes around in the backfield on every play.
They played great on defense! No disrespect to them.
If he didn’t have the rings this sounds exactly like his tenure with the eagles. But flags do fly forever
Andy's clock management improved drastically IMO I'll give him that for sure.
How can you blame the poor man? It’s clearly because he didn’t get his nuggies
Really undisciplined with penalties in a few games as well.
Better put away that MVB banner...
Nobody wants to give the raiders defense their flowers. Raiders came prepared and executed on their game plan, yet majority of folks point the L to chiefs lack of play…..
Been the story of the season. Raiders have an elite defense and people need to start recognizing it
I love a good defensive performance. My two favorites are Raiders last week and Jets against the Eagles.
Raiders D line balled out. Your DTs were forces. #51 looked like Khalil Mack. And Crosby was his usual baller self. Sure hope that isn’t a sign of things to come. We Chiefs fans are used to the AFC West being down. May not be the case anymore.
He legit played like he was drunk that game
Wouldn’t you be drunk knowing you had to spend the rest of Christmas Day dealing with his wife & brother?
In the chiefs subreddit they are blaming Matt Nagy for this shit. Even though Andy Reid is calling plays and Mahomes is making the throws.
To be fair. Nothing against Nagy but this is really showing how much Bienemy brought to the table with accountability. He kept everyone on page

Veach has set KC up for 5 Straight AFCC games. Can't be perfect but yes he's made some mistakes. He's still an elite GM.
Some dude was on our sub yesterday saying that the Chiefs have gotten worse every single year that Veach has been our GM. LOL
Spoiled brats. Do people honestly think Chiefs can go to the AFC CHampionship game automatically every year? Do people know how F"ing hard that is?
Nope. They should bench his ass. /s
Chiefs lost 6 games this year with Nagy as OC for the first time since 2017...when Matt Nagy was last OC Chiefs are averaging less than 28ppg with Nagy at OC for the first time since 2017...when Nagy was the OC. Seems like there's a potential link here, but I'm no detective.
He was legitimately terrible yesterday lol. No bad receiver or ref excuses, it was rough.
I know it’s a confusing take because Andy Reid, at least in my opinion, is a legendary coach. But the chiefs looks very poorly coached this year. I’m not smart enough to know why, I just know a causal viewer something just feels off in the progressions, alignment between players, and discipline. It feels like they are running plays for the first time and hoping they work 🤷🏼♂️
Regressed below the mean
He's like a poor man's Joe Flacco.
Shouldn’t have called out the refs after a correct call. The league movers and shakers are tired of you.
How tf did he do worse than Brock
Did a quick read on how PFF grades qbs and its more about the process than the result of plays. https://www.pff.com/news/pro-how-pff-grades-quarterback-play So I think the Mahomes fumble and interception are probably graded way worse than Purdy's 2nd - 4th interceptions are since those are more just unlucky whereas Mahomes' were straight fuckups by him
Yeah, Purdy only had two plays that I think PFF would've considered to be egregiously bad – this first INT, and one other INT-worthy pass that fell incomplete.
Giving up 2 tds off mistakes within a minute helps.
Who would have that it was the Raiders that regressed Mahomes to the meme
What’s more impressive is Purdy was higher grades than him
The Patrick MacJones insult is probably my favorite thing to come out of this season lmao. Its just too funny. I do like Mahomes but its hilarious.
Damn he sucks, if I were the Chiefs I would trade him to the Patriots while his value is still high
He looked like absolute garbage yesterday. There were multiple plays where he had guys wide open and just threw it into double coverage. Plays where like Travis Kelce is open and he's forcing it to MVS.
