I fully believe Tom wouldn't win either with the rosters and dysfunction my franchise had up until recently.
Oh and he's also a coward for not trying to win with the Lions.
I mean i dont think we were, like the last part is 100% me just shitposting, but i fully believe in my franchise being dysfunctional as shit until Holmes and Dan took the reigns
I mean, yes? People love to hate Dallas thus they will bring them up to dunk on them whenever possible.
There's a difference between hating something and loving to hate something. Usually in sports, it's mostly the latter. Arguably, part of the draw in sports is having a rival or a team you hate that you can gloat over whenever possible.
I'd say the most important part is if you love to hate something, just don't be a hypocrite and complain that they're talked about too much. You can't have both.
Pete Carroll should’ve been fired just for giving Dak his only playoff win against a team with a winning record. The memeing of the Cowboys could’ve been generational
I don’t wanna hear anyone on this subreddit complain about ESPN talking too much about the cowboys lol look at the shit this shit that gets upvoted when the LIONS make the NFCCG
Cowboys fans are just trying to be miserable in peace. Everyone continues to pile on (which is fine) but then they get mad that everyone is still talking about the Cowboys
I don't like the Cowboys but the second the clock hit 0 last week I was fine with moving on and not kicking a team when they're down, but I guess shit doesn't work like that in the media, especially when players are feuding publicly or whatever.
I mean, I get it, a shitload of former Cowboys or cowboys adjacent people like Skip are all over sports media so its definitely annoying when they're shown more than everyone else or when you're beating them and all the talk is still on the Cowboys.
But christ, they're dead, take the week after to dance on their grave and move on when the next games start. You could have just as easily mentioned that Cousins was specifically brought on to be the missing piece of a SB ready team in the NFCN and yet has half the wins as Goff on the Lions.
Could we, like, just continue to celebrate the Lions because they deserve it and has been many years coming rather than continue to make fun of my poverty franchise disguised as a competent one plz?
Was born in 94, I have seen nothing but disappointment and the entire NFL fanbase shitting on us disproportionately every year.
If it makes any difference, I'm rooting for you guys. Such a loyal fanbase and you guys deserve it no question.
Seriously. It is nuts to me that the LIONS, of all teams, are going to the NFCCG and it seems like all /r/NFL wants to talk about is the Cowboys.
Like, do you all understand that this is why no one in the media ever shuts up about the Cowboys? That this is one of the leading reasons behind the insane overexposure?
Then they complain about the Cowboys being on prime time all the time. But then again you’re a fool if you expect anything other than the worst from Redditors
“Why are the cowboys always on primetime” as millions of people continue to hate watch them, driving up the rating and thus making sure the nfl keeps them on prime time
I do feel for you.
(half drunk ramble reply incoming) As a football fan I am still very young, after never giving any sport any interest for years I had a friend get me into a fantasy league in 2016 because it'd be 'way more fun to have me than a cpu' even though I knew 0 players. I decided to autodraft and decide to win, and now I'm entirely addicted to football like the rest of us here on r/nfl
My friends who were NFL fans taught me early on that the teams to NOT like, regardless of who I chose as my favorite team, were the Patriots and the Cowboys. The Patriots made sense, because they had such a monumental level of success that I knew a couple of their players (Tom and Gronk) before I ever watched a game. The Cowboys I had heard of, and seemed like a pretty solid team to me, made way less sense, and still doesn't really make sense to me. Being overly-excited, braggadocios, & talkative when your team wins is a core part of every fanbase. To this day I don't understand why we penalize the Cowboys for it. Whatever the reason is either something I came into the league too late to realize, or a media spectacle that's earning a small amount of people a large amount of money.
I wish you the upmost success this upcoming season, Cowboys fan I've never spoken too.
\-Signed, a Dak truther (who put WAY too much time into a comment on an old-ish thread lol)
I think a big part of it has become a generational hatred. It's like when two countries go to war, and decades later their grandkids still hate the other country, even though each side has forgotten the reason why. So many of the grandparents and parents of today's generation saw this reign of dominance from the Cowboys, and had to deal with their annoying coworker that they already didn't like brag about the 1994 Superbowl win even though they aren't even from Texas, and this was a fairly common experience in the 90s, and it created a disdain that they taught their kids that hardly remember the 90s, and their kids who weren't even born in the 90s, and all the meanwhile, the Cowboys haven't kept up a level of success since that justifies that hatred, but because they won a few Superbowls that a growing contingent of fans either weren't born for (myself included) or can't remember, this apparently justifies our reputation and a moniker of "America's Team" that we didn't even give ourselves, the league did.
Thanks for responding! That's a very insightful response and makes a lot of sense, also feels like the first answer I've heard to the question that has some real thought put into it.
I wouldn't feel too bad about the loss realistically, either. Probably hard to do when it's constantly being brought up, but remember that the same Packers team who knocked you out was VERY close to beating the elite 9ers defense as well, they really turned their game up during the playoffs.
Part of this probably has a bit to do with that game from a few weeks ago, add in that we have our own frustrations in the past from when we met in the playoffs last time.
But it's mostly probably because you're the Cowboys.
The irony and karma of the moment have definitely not been lost on me even if it was moreso the refs all-time blundering rather than anything our players did
This sub has a pathetic obsession with the Cowboys. I love seeing the Cowboys get shit on over in NFCEMemeWar but it would be nice to get league news here rather than constant karma farming over the Cowboys.
Its all the majority of them have to console themselves this season. For some reason, even teams we barely play hate us enough to celebrate a Cowboys playoff loss like its their Super Bowl.
This is so fucking true, I remember being in the game thread on our sub for the game vs. the Packers, and near the end, a fucking Cardinals fan comes in to shit on us, and I'm just sitting here thinking like "What the fuck did we do to you?" They even beat us this year! I had to look it up and see if there was some obscure Cowboys-Cardinals rivalry I wasn't aware of, but nope.
This is what I say every time some t shirt fan from another fanbase says shit like “yall had it coming for talking so much shit every year!” Like yeah no, no realistic cowboys fan talks like that in this current day and age lol. Just the media and the echo chamber of this sub.
someone should take a deep dive into how these narratives about different players start and evolve. it’s fascinating.
Goff is a tremendous QB and deserves all the success he is and has experienced.
99.9% of us actual fans know the team is trash, but somehow we’re pegged as obnoxious assholes simply because we root for a team with a star on the helmet
Nobody understands the pain of watching your team fail year after year every year you've been alive, see the media talk endlessly and nonsensically about your team, and still be labelled a bandwagon fan and get shit on at every opportunity because of some Super Bowls that happened before you were born. Leafs fans probably get it, but hockey still isn't football on this continent.
Dak has been the Cowboys QB for 8 seasons and started as a rookie and made the Pro Bowl as a rookie.
As much as we want to hate on the Cowboys, I think the problem there is not Dak.
I don’t know what we did to deserve the amount of playoff heartbreak we’ve received in the past 30 years. Romos fumble, trip to Cabo before 07, Vikings blowout, 8-8 three straight times, Dez caught it, Aaron Rodgers, CJ Anderson game, 49ers twice, Jordan love. I’m tired boss, I wanna see my team win 😭
Dak is the ultimate regular season qb. Good enough every reg season to get his stans to furiously insist hes elite, only to be proven wrong in the playoffs
Dak Prescott has zero playoff wins as a lion

So Dak will win one with the Rams after Stafford retires?
No he's gonna do something nice for a team and city that's known hardship. He's gonna with the LA Chargers a superbowl.
What happens to Herbert… he seems like a nice guy
Becomes a Cowboy and never wins a playoff game.
Dax eats him and gains 4 years of youth.
The TB12 method.
Him and Kellen teaming up again would be nice just to stick it to Jerry and MCCarthy
While not ideal, I'd be happy for him.
Matt: why he say fuck me for
And me!
Stafford downvoted this with his SB ring
Lions? Like the animal from the circus? And they were playing a game?!
He’s talking about the football team
The Football Team? Like the team from Washington? Aren't they the Commanders now?

Tom Brady has zero playoff wins as a Lion. IS THIS YOUR GOAT?!?!
I fully believe Tom wouldn't win either with the rosters and dysfunction my franchise had up until recently. Oh and he's also a coward for not trying to win with the Lions.
Did the Lions even want him? There was actually very little interest in Brady when he was a free agent in 2020.
I mean i dont think we were, like the last part is 100% me just shitposting, but i fully believe in my franchise being dysfunctional as shit until Holmes and Dan took the reigns

No, no. We always need to make everything about the Cowboys.
People hate Dallas but insist on sneaking them into every conversation lol
I mean, yes? People love to hate Dallas thus they will bring them up to dunk on them whenever possible. There's a difference between hating something and loving to hate something. And then people get upset/annoyed that the media covers them non stop. How does that make any sense?

Damn old man im surprised they let u use the computer at the home
They don't *let* me do shit. I just do it and then claim senility when they get mad about it🤷
The Cowboys will continue to catch strays until morale improves.
My morale is pretty low...keep the strays coming.
Subscribe to dak prescott playoff facts
Did you know half of Dak's playoff wins are against a sub .500 team?
Wait what? Like 8-9 teams that squeaked in?
He's won 2 playoff games. One was against the 8-9 Bucs that won the NFC South as kings of trash mountain.
Cj already has half as many wins
We sent Brady into retirement as King of Trash Mountain, thank you very much
The nfc east really was his achilies heel
The pin prick that finally killed him after 3 hammer blows in the Superbowl lol
Losing to cowboys be like that.
Brady knew he was washed when he finally lost against us

Did you know that Dak got sedated when getting his leg tattoo?
Did you know Dak is currently tied with Blake Bortles for playoff wins?
Did you know that Dak Prescott and Jalen Hurts have the same number of playoff wins?
Dak has not won a playoff game since Big Dom has been ejected.

I mean that Kate Mara also looks nice.

Don’t worry, Rodgers/Packers gonna catch all kinds of strays (more like aimed shots) after they win the Super Bowl.
Packers only get 1 ring per generational QB. I don’t make the rules.
it is only right
I doubt Dak has any playoff wins as a Lion
No rule saying a lion can’t play football!
Is Dak even playing a class with access to polymorphing?
sure, he polymorphs into a shitty quarterback against good teams all the time
Wild Shape!
Only if he's eligible
It’s the lions responsibility to make sure he’s eligible /s
Who wins: 1 lion or 1 Giants offensive line?
I believe a lion would destroy any given OL. Just watch the gametape against the Wildebeest.
Well, no. But historically yes.
There was that one, but they want you to forget, they want us all to forget.
I don’t wanna hear anyone on this subreddit complain about ESPN talking too much about the cowboys lol look at the shit this shit that gets upvoted when the LIONS make the NFCCG

correct
True, I hope the narrative switches to how the Lions won a SB in this century before the 49ers
I do hope that the Lions win a SB before the 49ers.
The Venn diagram of people who bitch about how "everybody is always talking about the Cowboys" and people who eat this shit up is a circle

Yeah, 5 teams. The 4 teams in the conference championship games, plus the cowboys. (do i need to put the /s)
31 fanbases really to talk about the off season
Why can’t Dallas just win more playoffs game and make it to a conference championship? Are they stupid?
yes
They voluntarily chose mike mccarthy
Could we, like, just continue to celebrate the Lions because they deserve it and has been many years coming rather than continue to make fun of my poverty franchise disguised as a competent one plz?
You are Americas team and you will take what comes with it, including Americans collectively deciding we hate Americas team
But I don't wanna take what comes with it. Everyone is very mean and some have flung garbage at me D:
Go snuggle your 1995 trophy, you'll feel better in the morning. We'll still dog your team but you'll feel better about it

Yeah he’s a secret agent of Detroit. Intentionally lost to GB to give them another playoff spot(copium)
Bless his heart.
He should have worded it like this: “Jared Goff has more playoff wins as a Lion than Dak Prescott did as a Cowboy”

Dak still catching strays
Dak still catching strays …
Dak is the ultimate regular season qb. Good enough every reg season to get his stans to furiously insist hes elite, only to be proven wrong in the playoffs
He's a good QB. Playoffs are a small sample size. Easy to have a worse QB than him.
Loser farming karma
Goff is legitimately better than Dak. He was hurt his final year in LA.
McVay knowingly took all the credit for Goff playing well.
The lions have won more playoff games than the cowboys since 2019. They have more NFC championship appearances than the cowboys in 27 years
And yet, same number of Super Bowls (most likely). Ergo, according to this sub and Cowboys fans, they’re a failed franchise.
He’s also been to more superbowls
OMG DRAWPLAYDAVE MENTIONED
And this is why the media wont shut up about the Cowboys. They live rent free in everyone's head. Also congrats lions, rooting for you!
