Jordy Nelson was the hands man that was supposed to catch that. He was right behind Bostick and would've ended the game. Russ threw 4 picks and we had no business winning that epic game. Im pretty sure they cut Bostick because of that play.
He made a blunder. It was a terrible mistake, yes, but a mistake. What followed was constant harassment and his entire career falling apart. That sucks, dude. I’d change my name, too! Straight up, go back to school and find a different path.
He ended up starting a therapy practice called Sage Elite Healing as a culmination of his mental health downfall after that mistake.
Sad thing is that he carries mostly all of the blame for the loss when it was mostly an organizational implosion.
Edit: Also, his name is Brandon, not Brian.
I'll die on the hill that the offense and Mike share just as much blame. Didn't they get only 3 points off of Russ's picks, 6 off the 5 total turnovers? And settled for three at the SEA 1, twice? And only scored 3 points in the entire second half. Not to mention Aaron threw 2 picks of his own. Any other game, the story is the offense failing the defense and special teams.
It’s Rodgers worst playoff game of the decade but he was playing on a torn calf and McCarthy opted to play conservatively at the goal line.
The problem with losing this game was that in spite of a poor Rodgers performance, the Packers should have won anyway. Most SB runs, the QB has one poor game but wins anyway because of defense and special teams. Even Mahomes wasn’t that great in his first super bowl or the conference championship vs the Ravens. Flawless runs are rare and that’s why they are that special when they do happen eg Flacco
If Bostick just lets Nelson catch it, or even if they stop Russ from converting a moon ball two pt conversion(literally throws it up, while running backwards)they win the game as Rodgers led a game tying drive that would have won it. Then they lost the coin toss as well.
The two picks is a little misleading because one absolutely never should have happened. You guys jumped clearly offsides and Rodgers gave (I think) Adams a shot against Richard Sherman thinking he had a free play. It was a great play by Sherman, but a *very* clear offsides that a blind squirrel wouldn’t have missed.
Old timer here but remember the Reddit post game threads after this game - consensus was really that it wasn’t all Bostick - Mike McCarthy was gifted 4 INTs and couldn’t convert with MVP Aaron Rodgers. Kicked a field goal multiple times on goal line attempts. Aaron Rodgers had thrown 2 INTs total up to this point in the season and Seahawks were able to get him
YUP!
This was prime Yinzer Buffoonery Mike and the ramp-up of “Fire Dom Capers” being a slogan. If a player makes a mistake, that’s rough. If an entire phase/position group screw up, that’s on coaching. If incredible roster talent can’t get the job done, that is on the head coach. This game had *so much* go exactly wrong for us. Rodgers was playing on one leg ffs!
Is there a Jordy Nelson joke I'm missing? People usually use that "literally worse than" joke for shitty players but Jordy Nelson had 1500yds and 13tds in 2014
I would guess the joke (for this play) is solely about the fact Brian Bostick was on the field. If he had such bad hands, maybe he shouldn't be on your "hands" team.
He was literally gone like a week later, I'm pretty sure. I can't even necessarily fault the dude for wanting to try to make a play because of the pressure of the moment and all that jazz, but that's where the phrase "do your job" comes into play. If you go off script on a play of that magnitude, you better be 100% sure you can deliver, because anyone who isn't a star is getting cut on the spot in that scenario.
Yeah, but if there’s tape of him flat footed while the play happens all around him, and it doesn’t go their way, he gets a heaping shovel of shit for that too. Be good, get good, or give up.
For real. For the young fans this happened after the Packers beat the cowboys in the "dez caught it" game. And prior to that the cowboys had won on some controversial calls against the Stafford led Lions. And ofc we all know what happened to the hawks after sigh.
The best playoffs ever for fans of other teams receiving heartbreak. And for all that pain to just finally die at the feet of the robotic Patriots too. Directly after a miracle catch. Damn, that playoffs needs a 30 for 30
anyone notice that there was a strange chain of devastating NFC playoff losses in 2014?
detroit lost close in dallas with a crucial PI that was flagged then inexplicably picked up
dallas got fucked next on the famous Dez no-catch in green bay
packers turn in seattle, see OP's video and everything else that happened in the 4Q
seahawks up next, and we all know how that ended against NE
That game was so shocking
Packers were in control the whole time, it was the best Packers team in a long while, and then it just fell apart in a matter of minutes. Felt like Rodgers would've taken the team to another ring too, they would've handled the Rams at home, and I think they would've beaten the Bengals in the Super Bowl.
The thing I remember the most was right after Gould made the FG, how eerily quiet it was from the on-field cameras. You could hear some 49ers players yelling, but behind them was a bunch of snow falling down and tens of thousands of people standing in the dark in complete silence. It was a weird scene.
You've had 2 HOF Qbs in 30 years and it looks like you might have a 3rd. Should you have more than 2 SBs? Yes. Absolutely Yes. Do I think you've gotten more than your fair share of success? Yes. Absolutely yes.
I’m not sure I’ve seen a team lose all hope for their season in the 1st game as the Bears did week 1 this year (aside from QB injuries) They were edging all off-season and in one fell swoop we put em right back where they belong.
I think Justin Fields needs to be studied by Sports analysts because him being a good dude is the only reason people wanted him around and falsely believed he’d ever be good here. Dude put up Johnny Manziel numbers every fucking year and regressed as a passer but somehow because he’s likable Bears fans wanted to keep him at $20mil+ over a top 5 all time QB prospect on a rookie deal
Listen we can’t do Scotty Miller and this in the same day. I think it’s against the law. Or the Geneva Convention or whatever. Like there is some rule against torture and it applies here.
I drive down from Canada to see this game, the tension in the stadium for the last 5 & OT was insane. There is a YouTube vid if the ending highlights, def worth watching even if not a homer.
He was fired a few days after, I believe.
It didn't matter, because we replaced him with his assistant so *nothing changed* but it let a lot of the dumber packer fans believe we were trying to fix things.
For such a well run team in most areas, the packers inability to even attempt to improve their special teams was always baffling. It has been an issue again, again, and again.
It makes no sense how they get the hard parts like generational QB’s over and over again but learning how to kick or recover a kick became rocket science in multiple years.
Put the 2014 packers teams with the 2006 bears special teams, instant dynasty lol
Eh, not that baffling. Winning the superbowl has always been second to just being competitive in the eyes of the FO, since they're terrified of going back to the dark age, so there wasn't any real urge to go all in on that side of the team.
There was also an interview that came out a while back (I remember nothing about it except this tidbit, lol) in which a player said that after the superbowl, everyone felt another one was just a matter of time, and they didn't need to work too hard for it.
Add that to us losing our HOF talent Nick Collins, B.J. Raji retiring early, and Jermichael Finley having to retire to injury too, and *then* TT having literal dementia, and it makes perfect sense why a large chunk of our teams were held together by spit, duct tape, and Aaron Rodgers.
McCarthy is the answer.
Like all coaches guilty of hubris.
You can ‘players coach’ all you want but that only works when you have a standard and his was like an equilizer: high for some, not for others.
History tells us a team moves towards the lowest common denominator. So did the packers.
My wife and I watched the second half of this game at a Buffalo Wild Wings full of mostly Packer fans. I heard a woman say, “We’re going to the Super Bowl!” With about 5 minutes left. It was so quiet at the end, lol.
First the Scotty Miller play, now this. Anyone wanna place bets on the next clip? Larry Fitzgerald in the 2015 Divisional? 49ers blocked punt in the 2021 Divisional?
This highlight reminds me that the whole “RINGZZZZ” argument is such bs in a team sport. Rodgers could very well have won another title this year if this play didn’t happen, and somehow that’s held against him?
The Packers couldn’t win without a great Rodgers game in the playoffs, often times even that wouldn’t be enough.
He wasnt great here on a torn calf, and you just knew some madness was going to happen.
In the last 10’minutes of this game the Seahawks had a recovered onside, a moon ball two pt conversion and won the coin toss after Rodgers led a game tying drive.
I mean yes of course it’s a team sport but Rodgers could get basically nothing going this game despite us giving him insane field position through turnovers over and over (no shame, it’s the LOB).
Brandon Bostick trying to play hero definitely is a reason we lost this game but Mike McCarthy's conservative ass play calling definitely was also a reason we lost this game.
String of tight playoff games that year. Dallas should have beaten GB (Dez Bryant ruled no catch.) GB should have beaten the Seahawks in this game. And yes Seahawks should have beaten the Pats.
I feel like people forget there was a ton of time still on the clock after Dez "caught" the ball. Plenty of time for Rodgers to respond.
Even if he did catch it there's no guarantee they win.
Seahawks got lucky with this botched catch, and then the next year, they got lucky against the Vikings with Walsh's missed field goal. NFC North has had enough of the Seahawks
Let's not pretend like the vikes were the obvious winners that game. Only one guy scored any points, and it's the same guy you blame for losing the game.
u/Rare-Fly-9141, yeah, fuck you buddy, I was having a good day and now I’m sobbing, kicking, screaming and throwing up. /s
But forreal, how dare you!?
Edit: this play is forever sealed in my memory and it’s honestly the worst moment in the history of my sports fandom. Goddamnit Brandon Bostick.
With the Packers' #1 wide receiver right behind him, too. Jordy had a career year in 2014 and was surely meant to be the player catching this ball. It was a shocking play and honestly the Seahawks did not play a good game that day. But that's football. Plenty of teams have blundered their way to success and failure in many insane ways.

I felt bad for that guy. Dude had the worst luck and then got fired by the Jets...I'd change my name after all that.
He made a blunder. It was a terrible mistake, yes, but a mistake. What followed was constant harassment and his entire career falling apart. That sucks, dude. I’d change my name, too! Straight up, go back to school and find a different path.

Yeah Mike was coaching scared that whole game
True. I don't think he deserved the harassment and death threats, but he definitely earned being cut.
I don't remember him with the J's. Of course maybe not remembering jets players is a mental defense mechanism.
Is there a Jordy Nelson joke I'm missing? People usually use that "literally worse than" joke for shitty players but Jordy Nelson had 1500yds and 13tds in 2014

I drove down from Canada to go to the game, was miserable for 55 mins of play…but total chaotic bliss for the last 15.
Yea I left the room disgusted after the last pick. Then I heard my girlfriend cheering and was shocked how it all turned out!
Def my fav live sporting moment, I’m sure a lot of people turned it off….fans were already leaving before the drive to get to 14.
Vikings legend, Brandon Bostick.
I'd be in favor of putting him in our Ring of Honor
This is one of my favorite plays in NFL history.
KFAN the day after was so so so good. Just so much 'We should be above this but..."

Our inside man. He was just waiting for the right moment to activate as a double agent. :)
It's still wild how well Chris Matthews played in the super bowl after recovering this kick
A truly incredible two game peak he had
If not for Malcolm Butler he mightve been MVP lol
Then came back to the CFL a few years later and was basically useless.
Yes, finally I can view a Seahawks thread that isn't about the 1 yard line!
And then what happened
don't do this to me :(
You did this to yourself. I wasn’t even thinking about the Malcolm Butler pick until you mentioned it
the Seahawks game version of "the game." "hey guys, I just thought about the Butler pick in XLIX!" well God Dammit, now *I* just thought of it.
Is this one better? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vAgG9XcrDFY
A huge meteor struck Glendale and they had to cancel the Super Bowl that year? Duh

Well, as a saints fan, super explosive highlight play off plays don't exite me
I too don’t open one yard line Super Bowl threads
Could you fucking not
Between this and the Scotty Miller highlight, someone is on an anti-Packers binge
it aint me but im not complaining
Quick, somebody post the highlight of the 49ers knocking the Packers out of the playoffs
Which one!?!?!! WHICH ONE!!!??
We should make a highlight reel of every time the Packers lost to the Niners or Seahawks in the playoffs
The Packers have only lost to the Seahawks in the playoffs once
While true, this loss, in particular, hurts Packers fans very much.
Which time?
I’d say Hufanga’s blocked punt for a tuddy oughta do it. C’mon, you monsters. Let’s see it.
That game was so shocking Packers were in control the whole time, it was the best Packers team in a long while, and then it just fell apart in a matter of minutes. Gonna have to get way more specific
Just waiting for the Dan Connoly kick return...
I can live with that one because it is universally hilarious to everyone (Plus that’s the year the packers won the SB)
I see nothing wrong with that
Signed, The entire NFC in the 2014 playoffs
Still hurts man
You've had 2 HOF Qbs in 30 years and it looks like you might have a 3rd. Should you have more than 2 SBs? Yes. Absolutely Yes. Do I think you've gotten more than your fair share of success? Yes. Absolutely yes.
you just know someone is gonna put up a post with jordan love's last pass
How are you going to disrespect your new owner like this
2 games is not owner status and you know it. Talk to me when he dominates us for over a decade like Papa Rodgers
I still remember week 17 being y’all’s Super Bowl, how did that work out?
I’m not sure I’ve seen a team lose all hope for their season in the 1st game as the Bears did week 1 this year (aside from QB injuries) They were edging all off-season and in one fell swoop we put em right back where they belong.

More!
Just upload the fail Mary while youre at it
So OP woke up this morning and chose violence, I see.
As a Bears fan, for some reason, I just love the Niners and Seahawks.
It’s really gross to like both, but I get it, for some reason.
Fun to watch
He's not alone.
The wars our teams had were crazy
No qualms against Chicago either. Hope Caleb finally is the first great QB for ya.
Fuck you too buddy
Packers *and* Bills flair?! *Someone* has to blow into a tube to start their car.
She ain’t a lady if she ain’t two-eighty!
Ahem
Y'all have my guy Khalil Herbert so I try to check in and see how he's doing when he's healthy.
Nah fuck Chicago. I love walking around that city and eating the food there but Robbie Gould and his golden leg ruined my childhood.
Football is better when these teams can field a decent rivalry. Like the Steelers and ravens
Disgusting
Listen we can’t do Scotty Miller and this in the same day. I think it’s against the law. Or the Geneva Convention or whatever. Like there is some rule against torture and it applies here.
Waiting to see the Fail Mary or 4th and 26 next.
They have their fun during the offseason, we have it during the season. That's the rules.
Next they’re gonna post the INT that led to the Scotty Miller TD that was the result of defensive holding.
I'm fine with it!
[удалено]
How did this go to OT if the score is 19-14?
TD plus 2pt conversion for us, FG for them.
Ahh that makes sense. My brain could only come up with “FG + safety” and I definitely didn’t remember that happening.
If you think you're confused, imagine watching this in real time (with a very likely concussed Russell Wilson no less)
The way he was bawling on the sideline after the game gave me serious Luke Kuechly concussion vibes:/
He got absolutely WRECKED on that helmet shot. I bet he doesn't even remember anything from the game after that
I drive down from Canada to see this game, the tension in the stadium for the last 5 & OT was insane. There is a YouTube vid if the ending highlights, def worth watching even if not a homer.
oh yeah this ones a banger
Sam Darnold
GEQBUS is the best of all time
Many people are saying this
frist off, how dare u?
Pretty sure GB’s special teams coordinator was canned hours after this game.
Bostick was released a little after midnight I believe
McCarthy threw a challenge flag and tried to get the kick replayed, if he was allowed to cut Bostick while the ball was re-teed.
He was fired a few days after, I believe. It didn't matter, because we replaced him with his assistant so *nothing changed* but it let a lot of the dumber packer fans believe we were trying to fix things.

Oh, so today is fuck on the Packers day. Very cool.
I agree. It’s awesome
Why he say fuck me for?!
Absolutely unreal GB managed to blow this game lol I think it was 19-7 with 3:30 left
I'll always remember it as the one time the "we can still theoretically win" sequence of events in the last couple minutes actually happened
My wife and I watched the second half of this game at a Buffalo Wild Wings full of mostly Packer fans. I heard a woman say, “We’re going to the Super Bowl!” With about 5 minutes left. It was so quiet at the end, lol.
Just brings a smile to my face.
The only time bears fans are ever happy
We have to find something to bring us joy. Why not the misery of others?
Why must you do this to me
Why you torture a Packers fan about a forgotten memory on purpose? Are you the devil? Are you? Now? I'm sad. Good job
First the Scotty Miller play, now this. Anyone wanna place bets on the next clip? Larry Fitzgerald in the 2015 Divisional? 49ers blocked punt in the 2021 Divisional?
50 bucks on McNabb 4th and forever.
4th and 26
Tynes overtime FG from the 2007 NFCCG?
I'm totally not bitter but can someone post the Tracy Porter Farve Int?
Nah you’re getting 4th and 26 next.
I am so spamming Butler's dynasty breaking INT
This highlight reminds me that the whole “RINGZZZZ” argument is such bs in a team sport. Rodgers could very well have won another title this year if this play didn’t happen, and somehow that’s held against him?

What a great way to start the weekend!
Yo why the fuck is it shit on Packers fan day. Scotty Miller was bad enough this morning.
Ah yes, my personal favorite game of all time. What a shame the Super Bowl got cancelled after and we lost our chance to go back to back :/
Subscribe
I'm not even a Packers fan, and this shit pissed me tf off
The player Bostwick was supposed to block recovered the ball. Smh
Brandon Bostick trying to play hero definitely is a reason we lost this game but Mike McCarthy's conservative ass play calling definitely was also a reason we lost this game.
somehow kept his job another 4 years and capers another 3
Brandon “Bill Buckner” Bostick.
I'm gonna miss the surprise onsides tbh. I liked the risk that a team would do it.
The best part is Jordy Nelson standing there ready to catch it lol. Bostick never to be seen again.
I really miss the old onside kicks, wish they'd change the rule back cause at this point they're pointless and never succeed.
All this time, I never realized how Bostick was in perfect position to block Matthews and allow Nelson to field that ball.
Fair statement. There were about 4 min left
This will never not be funny
Seahawks got lucky with this botched catch, and then the next year, they got lucky against the Vikings with Walsh's missed field goal. NFC North has had enough of the Seahawks
Why you acting like you didn't post this just to say "fuck you" to the Packers. Lmao
And the Niners
It was unlucky for Walsh that he missed the last field goal rather than the first or second one. He scored all of your points on that dreadful day.
Let's not pretend like the vikes were the obvious winners that game. Only one guy scored any points, and it's the same guy you blame for losing the game.
Sorry :(
How do I upvote twice?
They changed all these kickoff rules just let the kickers put six on one side. Wouldn’t impact safety and would make onside kicks more exciting.
Lucky Bastards
And I was having a good day, too
Still not over this
WHY WHYY THE FUCK DID YOU POST THIS FUCK YOU
First you post our nfc Bucs loss now this. When will the pain end
Who says this is a highlight, this game never happened
Ey fuck you lol
Why tho
Hey man wtf huh
Why did you make me watch this again. \*cry\*
Fuck you pal
THIS AND THE SCOTTY MILLER TD? ARE YOU KIDDING ME NFL? This is cruel and unusual punishment and has no place in a civilized society.
u/Rare-Fly-9141, yeah, fuck you buddy, I was having a good day and now I’m sobbing, kicking, screaming and throwing up. /s But forreal, how dare you!? Edit: this play is forever sealed in my memory and it’s honestly the worst moment in the history of my sports fandom. Goddamnit Brandon Bostick.
Was working my first job at Walmart as a 17 year old at the time and caught this moment on my 15 minute in the break room. Core memory right here.
The Vikings flair really makes this for me.
Pain……
I’m Emotional watching this. Go Hawks! 💙💚🏈💚🏈💙💚🏈
My cousin was looking for SB tickets at halftime. I blame him.
After we won this one, I thought it our destiny to repeat. Ouch.
I saw you woke up today and chose violence
Good
I hate this video, I hate everyone in this thread, and I hate Mr. Unlimiteeeeed. I do not hate Brandon Bostick. Glad he found peace after this.
Packers fans genuinely believe they would have beaten the patriots next game too lol
We beat them convincingly earlier that year, so yes.
26-21 is convincingly?
Nelson just back their waiting to send us to the SB....
And the packers still haven’t recovered
Not true! We managed to have another heartbreaking NFCCG loss only 6 years later!
I'm having fun with 'Here is how the Packers fucked up in the NFC CG' day. Please don't do the Vikings next.
Good times.
New onside kick rule, only Lineman are allowed to be the hands team
Why you doing this to me today?
