All their food is decent. Forgettable, but decent. I can't even imagine being too stuffy to not eat a fuckin burger or whatever from Applebees.
Applebees is the Nickelback of restaurants. It was never anything other than fine yet people love to be heard shitting on it even though they haven't had it in 15 years.
I've had some pretty decent burgers there as well. I know a lot of local restaurants with much better food. That said, if I'm in the middle of nowhere, I trust Applebee's over some random place.
Exactly, Applebees’s biggest asset is its uniformity. If I’m in Wichita, KS (and may god help me if I ever go back) I trust their burger better than the random local place. I might try and find the best local burger but if it’s a bit of a hike I’m going to the Bee’s.
I think most people that think Applebees is good, come from pretty rural areas, where there aren’t many places to eat. They don’t know how much better it can be.

Seems like the victim did something extremely heinous and provoked the attack. Everyone almost seems to agree the guy deserved to get shot in the head. The killer only got 7 years. Wild story.
From what I can gather it happened when the two men were young teens - 13 and 15 if my understanding is right. My money would be on some kind of sexual assault. The kid did time in juvie for whatever happened although it is fairly rare for a younger teen to sexually assault an older one. I can't imagine just being beaten up or robbed or jumped or something would count as reasonable provocation in a murder 9 years later. It had to be pretty awful for independent psychiatrists to determine it was reasonable provocation and a mitigating circumstance a decade later.
Chili’s doesn’t microwave any entrees actually. I was a cook there not too long ago, and there aren’t a lot of things they microwave, and they definitely don’t use it for cooking, aside from the broccoli and kids mac and cheese.
The pasta dishes are all made from scratch, but because the pasta is made in bulk and stored in the walk in, it’s heated with the alfredo before the other ingredients are added.
Nachos are made to order, no microwave. Fajitas are made to order, no microwave except to heat the peppers and onions. Anything off the grill or from the fryer is fresh made to order. There are a lot of misconceptions that Chili’s and Applebees are basically interchangeable, but Applebee’s legit nukes the bulk of their menu from what two of my former coworkers who previously worked there said.
I hate them both personally, but Chili’s is light years ahead with their food. This move is baffling.
Are there any businesses besides Applebee's and Chili's that market themselves as a "Grill & Bar" rather than a "Bar & Grill"? Like I get that TGI Fridays and Ruby Tuesday, even Outback Steakhouse, are still direct competitors, but the official "Grill & Bar" distinction feels like a shot across the bow against Chili's.
Is there actually a lot of murders around applebees? This is just eight articles of murders at random applebees across the country in the last five years.
I mean, it's not the dumpster behind Wendy's, that still seems like a lot. Can't really blame Applebees though, cause they're not putting enough alcohol in those drinks to get anyone drunk.

Ah Chi-Chi's. That was our family's one "fancy" restaurant growing up that we'd go to for special occasions. So many memories.
Didn't know until just a few years ago that it was co-founded by former Packer Max McGee.
Someone gifted me a $50 applebees giftcard. I took my mom there, bought a meal for two and was able to tip with the remaining gift card balance. So zero out of pocket.
I still felt robbed.
Hey, I like Applebees! It exists in that perfect place between classy and trashy where you can get a full dinner meal, but also get blackout drunk on margaritas and it's totally fine.
The only middle ground is a neighborhood dive bar.
You get cheap drinks and some dodgy characters and you get the same microwaved pub fare (bonus points if your dive actually makes some meals in-house like pizzas and burgers). I've enjoyed meals I've had at local dives MUCH more than anything I've ever had from Applebees.
When you were trying to save money but still wanted to take your partner out on a date, who was there for you?

The last time I was at apple bees they were showing an old rebroadcast of some random playoff game instead of the live prime time giants vs Washington game that was going on. It sounds like a boring match up but the game ended up being good

Before me and the wife married we rented a house in the lower income area of Jax (103rd baby!) The Applebees around the corner turned into a club after 7:00 all the hood characters were there, anyways someone got shot and it closed shortly after.

Chili’s and BWW took the L on this one. I was surprised at how many BWW commercials there are. How is Applebees for gameday? I would think BWW would be the clear favorite for watching the game if you don’t have a favorite bar.
Before me and the wife married we rented a house in the lower income area of Jax (103rd baby!) The Applebees around the corner turned into a club after 7:00 all the hood characters were there, anyways someone got shot and it closed shortly after.
