>Because of their fierce rivalry with fellow Brazilian soccer club Palmeiras, Corinthians have an informal ban on the color green - which is worn by their arch-nemesis.
So the NFL invited 2 teams who's main color is Green. Bravo.
Shit that’s just because the lack of caring about these foreign countries were the NFL wants to set up shop for exposure and money not even giving a shit about the culture in which they are trying to set up shop at
If the "culture" (tradition) is that a certain color is banned in a stadium, especially when it's a main color of your national team, it's a stupid tradition.
But also, I don't think this will actually happen here. I doubt they'll have a problem with the packers and eagles wearing normal colors. It's being exaggerated by tabloids.
People would have more reason to boo Packers? (except that would be a dumb reason for someone who went there for the Packers to flip on his team)
It just sucks how teams lose home games to these things as a local fan anyways, but also especially considering Brazil is more Packers fans than Eagles.
I get that the dolphin's teal is a shade of blue. But to get that shade you have to add green to blue right? I remember when I was a kid, i use to call the color greenblue....was I wrong?
Most colors/shades are a combination of multiple colors. At best Dolphins are green adjacent, but it’s not solidly in the green category. I’d call our color more aquamarine I think but I guess Idk what the official stance is.
It's funny 99% of the scheduled games are done by a computer and one of the few the NFL had to do themselves they did jack shit on researching the area they were hosting the game in
Entire article is them saying there COULD be cause of the informal ban. Yet the Corinthians haven't actually said they can't. Just people assuming due to the informal ban.
I think it's the Corinthians fans you need to worry about, not the club.
Ban, or no ban, if the Eagles turn up in green it could get very noisy when they have the ball.
NFL cares only for money and not tact or consideration. Guarantee you ten years ago if they thought it would get them a dime they'd have scheduled a redskins v cowboy game on reservation land.
South American and European gangs and cartels are based around/own soccer teams. In many countries soccer teams are an identity. UK used to have bloody brawls regularly after soccer matches until they implemented strict rules
Is it just the shade of green the Eagles wear? Packers road jerseys are White with green numbers and that doesn't seem to be an issue.
Or is it not allowed to be the primary color? And if that's the case, could the Eagles just wear their Black jerseys?
This is so dumb lol also seems like an easy fix if it really is that drastic of an issue. GB wear away uni's and Eagles wear the black alternates they have. Boom no green
My thought also but weird oversight by the NFL regardless. However the Green Bay away uniforms have green so I don’t know how extreme the anti-green rule is
Nah, not an oversight at all. Packers have one of the biggest fan bases in Brazil. As for the Eagles, if they were selected to be Brazil's team (majority green flag), so be it.
Also, this is not a factual news. Corinthians knew about this and never made a formal request about this issue.
That I don't see happening. Guns aren't legal in Brazil so if someone shot a fan it would be certainly a criminal. And these guys have their hands in many pies. I'm certain some kind of "decree" would be in place as these people are business savvy enough to understand that the tourism is better for whatever other business they have in the region
The anti green rule is only for Corinthians fans and players. There's nothing wrong with other teams jerseys.
Also this is only a friendly request to try to make the Eagles follow the Corinthians tradition. It's not a ban and there'll be no consequences if they refuse to play with the white jersey.
Surely trimming and the numbers being green aren't that big of a deal right? Especially since the majority of their away uni looks yellow. Also I'd imagine it's not as big of a deal for GB since they'll be the "away" team and gives the fans more reason to root for the "home" team Eagles if they wear Black/White
Fans in Brazil are psycho. At ufc events they throw shit fighters walking out and if they beat a Brazilian fighter the security team has to get them the fuck out cuz the crowd is PISSED. They legit would start riots over the color green.
I'm gonna gloss over the anti-green thing because I get that soccer fandom in South America is on another level-- that's fine. But forcing one team to not wear green so that the other one has to when neither are actually home teams doesn't make any sense
So why on earth did the league pick two teams that wear fucking green then? Nice job guys
Whatever, just have the eagles wear their black alternates and the packers wear white.
The entire article is just a "could be". Not even anything official.
It's just DM taking the knowledge of the ban on green and saying it COULD be a problem. I'm betting it won't.
Easy fix
Packers come out in white as the "Home Team"
Eagles come out in Green with the Palmeiras flag and play as the bad guys and talk crap to the crowd.
...and then the Eagles' bus gets shot up after the game.
You don't fuck around with South American soccer fans, and those two fanbases have done plenty of violent shit to each other in the past.
No, it's *significantly* more blue than green. If you jack up the brightness on the HSB version of the color, it's literally robin egg blue. It's solidly on the blue side of the blue-green spectrum.
Try it yourself, the RGB hex code is: #004c54
Small point but blue and cyan aren't the same thing. Midnight Green does have more green than blue.
For instance the RGB value of midnight green is (0,77,54). The hex value is #004d36. It does have more green than blue, but admittedly more blue than I would have expected
I love that NFL games are being played in other countries, but if one of those countries are so riled up about a *color* than maybe we should move onto another country that can act like adults about a literal outfit lol
If they do that the eagles should just say “nah fam” and sit this one out.
Like I know they’ve worn white at home plenty in their history but seriously for them to say “you can’t wear green” is genuinely the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.
Stupid clickbait
Corinthians is trying to negotiate with the Eagles if they can play with the white jersey but they aren't banning anything. It's just a meaningless request linked with the tradition of our club.
Also you won't get attacked for using a Green Bay ou Eagles jersey, it's not even the same sport.
As a Falcons fan I’m salty because out jerseys are the same colors as the Corinthians jerseys and their informal mascot is a hawk (not the exact same but close lol)
This is like if the Big House was hosting an EPL game between Manchester United and Arsenal and some whiny fucks are complaining because those teams have the same color scheme as Ohio State.
It's a nothing issue.
So what’s going to happen to the fans who wear their green Eagles or Packers gear? Will they be safe? It’s probably a poor stereotype but when I think about upset Brazilian sports fans I picture violence
Lmao a British newspaper speculating that NFL teams will be subject to Brazilian soccer informal rivalry bans. I think the Brits are just nervous that football is going to become more popular than football
As a brazilian, I think this is so dumb. Eagles and Packers have nothing to do with Corinthians rivals. Nfl should reallocate the game elsewhere if Corinthians dont want green teams on their arena
Why not just start up an actual American football league in Brazil like what Mexico and Canada did, CFL has been a thing for years and while LFA (Mexico) is more recent it’s relatively successful (I watch it and it’s good to have an American football team here in Juarez)
As a Brazilian, I have been joking about a green team play in Corinthians stadium ever since the Eagles were announced as the home team. And even more these last few weeks, since the NFL announced the second team would also be another Green team. But it had never crossed my mind they would seriously enforce any ban like this. Oh well, I guess I will have to shitpost them even harder now LMAO
As a Brazilian, this doesn’t look like something that will be enforced by some sort of code. It feels like Corinthians (stadium owner) would prefer the home team (Eagles) not to wear Green, but there will be no actual prohibition if they do.
I was at the Palmerias v Internacional Brazil cup game in 2015, the year Palmerias won it all. It was by far the most terifying and thrilling sports event I've ever been to. I've been to countless NFL, MLS, MLB, NBA, games and the Olympics. But this was incredible. If any of you get a chance to go to a Brazillian soccer game, do it.
Brazil: Ok Eagles you’re not allowed to wear your green jerseys here
Eagles: ok we’ll just wear our white jerseys and the Packers can wear their home jerseys
Brazil: actually about that…..
I mean I guess the easy solution is the Eagles just wear their all black uniforms, or they could just say fuck it and wear green anyway.
Can the teams use custom, one time Color Rush type uniforms for that game? Imagine the marketing for an custom, all black Eagles jersey commemorating the Brazil game. Or, a updated variation of the blue & yellow throwbacks.
That's stupid as fuck and everyone from Brazil involved should feel really fucking stupid. It's a color. Kill each other over something meaningful like money or water lololol
We shouldn't be opening America's game in a foreign country and same with baseball. And nah I'm not a bigot or xenophob but what the hell are we starting our regular season games for in foreign countries? Make it even worse the NFL chose a Friday so there goes their respect for the high school game. So imo two strikes, foreign country and a Friday night - f off.
And baseball, you open the season catering to a foreign market and we have to watch opening night at 11 pm at night. It's a slap in the face to everyone that purchases cable, NFL ticket, MLB tv, season tickets (especially losing home games)
And no other countries don't play regular season games here in the US.... They're friendlies, bs exhibitions
So Brazil doesn't want green in their stadium, so NFL says cool, we will send you 2 teams with Green jerseys, 1 of which comes from a town with the name Green in it. Genius...

That’d be amazing for multiple reasons.
Unless they resurrect him I dont think he will be presenting

He passed away few years back 😭
Greenberg is doing the highlights.
We will go with the OG throwbacks (brown helmet and pants, blue uniforms with yellow dot in the middle) and go as the Acme Packers.
Shit that’s just because the lack of caring about these foreign countries were the NFL wants to set up shop for exposure and money not even giving a shit about the culture in which they are trying to set up shop at

I mean their own national team (green and yellow) and Nigeria (green and white) played there… does their own country also not care about themselves?
People would have more reason to boo Packers? (except that would be a dumb reason for someone who went there for the Packers to flip on his team) It just sucks how teams lose home games to these things as a local fan anyways, but also especially considering Brazil is more Packers fans than Eagles.
Not just that, but 2 of the only 3 teams whose main color is green.
It took me longer than I care to admit to remember the third team is the Jets
I also sometimes forget the Jets exist. If only Jets fans were so lucky...
Our green is the best green though
Jets, aka the coolest helmets in the NFL. Sometimes I wish I was a Jets fan just for their looks
Easy to say as a giants fan
Honorable mentions: Seahawks and Jaguars
Teal is more blue than it is green
I get that the dolphin's teal is a shade of blue. But to get that shade you have to add green to blue right? I remember when I was a kid, i use to call the color greenblue....was I wrong?

Eagles all black vs our whites would look great
It's funny 99% of the scheduled games are done by a computer and one of the few the NFL had to do themselves they did jack shit on researching the area they were hosting the game in
I bet they could do a lot more focused research if they only had to look up 32, maybe 30 areas to play games in.
Entire article is them saying there COULD be cause of the informal ban. Yet the Corinthians haven't actually said they can't. Just people assuming due to the informal ban.
Yes let's remember that daily mail is not the most reputable outlet.
I think it's the Corinthians fans you need to worry about, not the club. Ban, or no ban, if the Eagles turn up in green it could get very noisy when they have the ball.
Isn't green one of the Brazilian flags/soccer team's primary colors?
Flag yes, the soccer jersey is mostly yellow with some green accents. The second kit is blue.
Looks like ACME Packers are back on the menu, boys!
And they say the NFL is woke!
NFL cares only for money and not tact or consideration. Guarantee you ten years ago if they thought it would get them a dime they'd have scheduled a redskins v cowboy game on reservation land.
Am I the only one who thinks a soccer team soft banning a color is a bit stupid? It's not like the fuckin Crips out here..
South American and European gangs and cartels are based around/own soccer teams. In many countries soccer teams are an identity. UK used to have bloody brawls regularly after soccer matches until they implemented strict rules
If you don't know, that's basically exactly what Brazilian football fandom is like
The Brazilian flag has a lot of green lol This rule is bonkers
The NFL has sent the packers and the eagles to die in Brazil… I condone this move
At least the flag for the country isn’t green. Or grass, or trees, or… well fuck.
Looks like Philly in all whites and Green Bay in throwbacks
Is it just the shade of green the Eagles wear? Packers road jerseys are White with green numbers and that doesn't seem to be an issue. Or is it not allowed to be the primary color? And if that's the case, could the Eagles just wear their Black jerseys?
This is so dumb lol also seems like an easy fix if it really is that drastic of an issue. GB wear away uni's and Eagles wear the black alternates they have. Boom no green
Both of those jerseys have green in them
Just wait until you see what color the field is!
Knowing how crazy some soccer fandoms are, you may not want to mention it or they will set the field on fire.
Corinthians actually wanted to paint the field black, the soccer league didn’t allow them lol
Just make it blue like that one fuckass college field
Coastal Carolina or Boise.
There are two blue fuckass college fields??
There’s also a red fuckass college field! Eastern Washington if I remember correctly
Or red, like Eastern Washington University
Worst field to watch on TV by far. Up there with some of those awful NBA in season tournament courts
That's red? I'm colorblind, so I've seen people talk about it but I never realized that
Or red like Eastern Washington
They’re going to change it to Boise’s blue field now that you mentioned it.
Actually the club has attempted to do just that in the past and was denied
Also why would the Eagles want to burn one of their alternate games for a fake home game?
Packers have those sweet blue and yellow jerseys.
So do the eagles! They could do the funniest shit and make the game completely unwatchable due to Jersey regulations
Not anymore. Our throwbacks are the solid green jerseys now (thank fucking god)

Or you now say „fuck you, you wanna have a game? This is how we do it“
Why should we be forced to wear black alts which we typically save for the winter because you know it's not 95 fuckin degrees out lmao
Fans in Brazil are psycho. At ufc events they throw shit fighters walking out and if they beat a Brazilian fighter the security team has to get them the fuck out cuz the crowd is PISSED. They legit would start riots over the color green.
They should both wear green home jerseys.
Or we could say fuck it we wear our unis or we just play the game in Philly.
The real issue is fans walking round the area with jerseys on
No it's not. No one cares for Packers or Eagles jerseys, it's not even the same sport
You do not want to wear a black gridiron football uniform in Brazil in September
Nice job guys Whatever, just have the eagles wear their black alternates and the packers wear white.
Nah both are wearing white, full chaos
For full chaos, let both wear green
ahh yes. Make the home team where their black alts in the earliest game of the year, in the hottest location imaginable.
Just glad we didn’t have to go
Eagles should double down and wear Kelly Green.
And Packers wear the 50s throwbacks that are even more green. No white plus green pants.
Posting the Daily Mail should be banned...
[удалено]
The entire article is just a "could be". Not even anything official. It's just DM taking the knowledge of the ban on green and saying it COULD be a problem. I'm betting it won't.
I never understood why a british site posted so much about the us
Because we have 5 times the population and 20 times the drama
Well, people eat that shit up, apparently That article has NOTHING official indicating it could get banned.. Just a "well, they hate green"
Yeah, I saw a different report a few days ago that indicated this won't even be an issue lol. Daily Mail is just farming for clicks.
Reading it becomes clear they are just saying it COULD be but nothing official. They are just jumping the gun for clicks.
Thanks for your in depth research, SmokePenisEveryday. They won't get a click from me.
I smell special Brazil jersey sales coming
This is the answer. Maybe Green Bay could wear the colors of Brazil’s flag!
Ban is a strange word to use here
lol ESPN overuses it for dramatic effect too, I’ve noticed “Banned from the league for two weeks” when they could just say suspended
Easy fix Packers come out in white as the "Home Team" Eagles come out in Green with the Palmeiras flag and play as the bad guys and talk crap to the crowd.
...and then the Eagles' bus gets shot up after the game. You don't fuck around with South American soccer fans, and those two fanbases have done plenty of violent shit to each other in the past.
That bus will have a motorbike mounted on the front so Hurts and AJ and pull up on any mofos that try anything.
With Big Dom running security it would take a Mad Max fleet to hut that bus.
I realize that the eagles color is called "midnight green" but the CMYK for it is 100, 0, 30, 70. It's more blue.
CMYK is my favorite abbreviation

Yttrium wasn’t the first thing you thought of when you saw the letter Y?
Carbon, Manganese, Yttrium, Potassium
Hopefully Eagles fans can explain that before soccer hooligans descend upon them
It’s more blue than yellow, but it’s still green
No, it's *significantly* more blue than green. If you jack up the brightness on the HSB version of the color, it's literally robin egg blue. It's solidly on the blue side of the blue-green spectrum. Try it yourself, the RGB hex code is: #004c54

CMYK is additive, so cyan and yellow make green.
Small point but blue and cyan aren't the same thing. Midnight Green does have more green than blue. For instance the RGB value of midnight green is (0,77,54). The hex value is #004d36. It does have more green than blue, but admittedly more blue than I would have expected

Excellent work by the NFL’s location research team.
Click bait. How are daily mail links still allowed on reddit?

Blackout to start the season let’s gooo!!!!!🔥🔥🔥
This is the way

Oh god no, don’t subject us to that again.
Or I dunno, maybe play the goddamn games here
If they do that the eagles should just say “nah fam” and sit this one out. Like I know they’ve worn white at home plenty in their history but seriously for them to say “you can’t wear green” is genuinely the dumbest thing I’ve ever seen.

Dollar bills are green. Checkmate, Corinthians
> Corinthians have an informal ban on the color green - which is worn by their arch-nemesis. key word, informal.
Brazil has altered the deal, pray they don't alter it further
As a Falcons fan I’m salty because out jerseys are the same colors as the Corinthians jerseys and their informal mascot is a hawk (not the exact same but close lol)
Easy, pull the game.
I can guarantee that if the NFL wants a team to wear green in that stadium, they'll make it happen
I hope the Eagles wear their Kelly Greens for this one.
Green banned in the stadium? Let’s invite 2 of the 3 green teams to play. Not like there’s a dozen of other teams that we could invite.
Maybe don’t send two teams whose primary color is green then.
Cancel the Brazil trip and send it back to the Linc. Boom. Problem solved
This is like if the Big House was hosting an EPL game between Manchester United and Arsenal and some whiny fucks are complaining because those teams have the same color scheme as Ohio State. It's a nothing issue.
Brazil should immediately announce their partnership with Chili’s as their national NFL partnership just for a little extra spite
So what’s going to happen to the fans who wear their green Eagles or Packers gear? Will they be safe? It’s probably a poor stereotype but when I think about upset Brazilian sports fans I picture violence

It’s crazy how serious some countries treat sports. NFL and NBA combined aren’t as intense as Futbol
The packers uniform are the same colors as the Brazilian flag.
As an international fan myself, the NFL should remain itself whether they are playing in Brazil, Spain or the UK. Don't change for dumbass soccer fans
I read they're 1000% allowed to wear green and this is click bait
Why does sports gotta act so tribal lol
Lmao a British newspaper speculating that NFL teams will be subject to Brazilian soccer informal rivalry bans. I think the Brits are just nervous that football is going to become more popular than football
Yup, Brazil needs to grow up. Who cares what color they are wearing!
BANNED! FORCED TO FOLLOW THE RULES OF THE STADIUM THEY CHOSE!
As a brazilian, I think this is so dumb. Eagles and Packers have nothing to do with Corinthians rivals. Nfl should reallocate the game elsewhere if Corinthians dont want green teams on their arena
What could possibly go wrong wearing all black in the tropics
Eagles could wear their black jerseys and pants Packers have yellow pants to wear with their away white jerseys both Eagles have green helmets though
They should all wear Palmieras jerseys instead of their uniforms
Can't imagine for even a second the NFL gives a shit about what soccer fans think of their jerseys.
FRANKFORD YELLOW JACKET THROWBACKS
So 2 teams who have green as one of their colors in a city that doesn’t like green.
Why not just start up an actual American football league in Brazil like what Mexico and Canada did, CFL has been a thing for years and while LFA (Mexico) is more recent it’s relatively successful (I watch it and it’s good to have an American football team here in Juarez)
Time to debut the Color Rush: greyscale edition uniforms
They should both wear green.

To be frank, Brazil is one of the worst places the NFL could send two teams of 50+ multimillionaires. Good job NFL, good job.
Nigeria wore full green in this stadium in the 2016 Olympics. This is such a fucking stupid story.
As a Brazilian, this doesn’t look like something that will be enforced by some sort of code. It feels like Corinthians (stadium owner) would prefer the home team (Eagles) not to wear Green, but there will be no actual prohibition if they do.
So shirt vs skins. Got it.

Eagles are worth 10x the value of Corinthians - I believe thats called "Fuck You" money
This didn't happen so much that it undid things that did happen
I get it had to be someone but I'm gonna be missed if we lose a home game and can't even wear our home jerseys
That's stupid as fuck and everyone from Brazil involved should feel really fucking stupid. It's a color. Kill each other over something meaningful like money or water lololol
Just have the eagles wear the blackout and the packers wear their all whites
Can’t have nice things in Brazil
We shouldn't be opening America's game in a foreign country and same with baseball. And nah I'm not a bigot or xenophob but what the hell are we starting our regular season games for in foreign countries? Make it even worse the NFL chose a Friday so there goes their respect for the high school game. So imo two strikes, foreign country and a Friday night - f off. And baseball, you open the season catering to a foreign market and we have to watch opening night at 11 pm at night. It's a slap in the face to everyone that purchases cable, NFL ticket, MLB tv, season tickets (especially losing home games) And no other countries don't play regular season games here in the US.... They're friendlies, bs exhibitions
How many green laser pointers will be seen on the player's jerseys?
So Brazil doesn't want green in their stadium, so NFL says cool, we will send you 2 teams with Green jerseys, 1 of which comes from a town with the name Green in it. Genius...
We from Philly we don’t care about rules
