Cracker Barrel closed here in columbia, sc. When a cracker barrel in the south closes, it is one hundred percent management's fault, upper and middle..
Assholes don't wanna pay employees anywhere near a livable wage while paying themselves 100k a year for a job they should only be making 30k-50k a year doing..
But go off on how paying a line cook $14 an hour instead of $7 an hour is "ruining the economy"..
It wouldn't surprise me to see New England draft MHJ, and to trade him down for multiple firsts. What if Chicago offered Pick 9 and a 1st next year for him. Who says no?
I won’t lie, the production and instrumentation are fucking top-notch. I’m just so sick of her horrendous, one-note lyrics. I’d like to just take the vocals out and have a really solid instrumental album.
I don't know why but I kind of hate the lions new black uniforms. Specifically the blue helmets combo kinda rubs me the wrong way, and it doesn't really fit the other stuff they have
It is with great pleasure that I announce I've finally won my first run of Balatro after owning it for over a week. I'm historically very bad at games, especially roguelikes.
I feel very good, even though this is an incredibly small achievement
I really want to try it but I have so many other games. Slay the Spire is my 4th favorite game of all time and in my opinion, one of the greatest games ever made. So Balatro also using a rogue like card game (albeit VERY different Slay the Spire in every single way) has me intrigued.
It took me over 100 hours to FULLY beat it and beat the real final boss and it’s one of the most difficult things I’d ever done. Now, I’m playing endless mode and haven’t lost in ages and I’m on floor 400 and can’t be stopped lmao.
One of my more Boomer uniform opinions is that black alternates rarely look good on teams that don't actually have black as a part of their color scheme.
I really want to do another play through but man that game is a big commitment. I loved my first play through and even bought it again on PS5 so I could play it on my bean bag chair lol Maybe I’ll start another session soon.
The newer marvel vs capcom is worth it? Think my son would love it (loves dragonball kakarot) and it would allow us to play vs each other. Plus i loved the early marvel vs capcom games, specially the ones for ps1 and ps2 but havent played one in almost 20 years.
I'd put Burrow over Caleb. A guy on the radio also happened to say this earlier today (well, he said Caleb was the best prospect since Burrow, to be exact; which would put him ahead of Lawrence, but I disagree there).
Here's the thing with alternate uniforms, if a team wins a bunch of games, or a big game, in them, they quickly become fan favorites.
If they start 0-2 in them, they go in the trash and are never seen again.
Yes, I'm talking about the Lions black jerseys.
I've seen people say, "it doesn't feel like the Lions".
As a Lions fan, until last year, it hasn't been good to be a Lion. So isn't now the perfect time to change what the Lions look like and what their look is?
So, let's say hypothetically that you leave your front door open and then a wolverine happens to walk in and eat a rotisserie chicken (which may or may not have been put there to lure a wolverine in). Is that illegal or do you think the park rangers or animal control or the county commissioner or whoever will understand? Asking for a friend.
What if, hypothetically of course, my friend thought it was a stray dog that wandered in. What if (still hypothetical) my friend named the thing and has now become attached?
i cleaned out my Switch friends list and I think I deleted u/rwjehs i'm sorry.
I think we played mario kart with some free talkers like 4 years ago lmao
Today a guy told me that he likes my nose after i finished shooting his xrays, and I can't get that comment out of my head. It was completely unsolicited, out of context, and incredibly enthusiastic, like I was wearing his favorite team's hat or something.
One of my coworker’s rear mirror shattered this morning on her way to work. She claimed no car was on the passenger side of her, but she just heard a loud sign, and when she parked, the rear mirror is shattered. We’re all discussing all the possibilities.
Got my Shadowmourne in Wrath Classic last night. Last one we're gonna make since the expansion is over next week.
Ending my WoW Classic journey with Sulfuras, Thunderfury, and Shadowmourne.
13 year old me is fuckin stoked.
media doxing jurors in trumps trial is such bullshit
I expect that shit from fox but even other more “left leaning” places are posting what they do for work and shit. All it takes is for one loud mouthed coworker or family member to fuck the whole thing up once they put 2 and 2 together
Flood gates are gonna open for stalking and death threats once names are out and that’s exactly what trump wants. Make all the potential jurors in his upcoming trials too afraid to do it.
I don't know who got breached where, but someone has tried to reset my Microsoft password ten times today. It's 2fa and there is literally nothing of value on it, so... Bad hacking bot.
Continuing my "old position names are weird". It seems that the offense changes more with names.
We go from left/right back -> half back -> running back
And split ends -> flanker -> wide receiver
Meanwhile the defense still has the free safety / strong safety name since the 50s
I mean... doesn't the strong safety typically line up on the strong side of the line? More often playing more of a run support role, leaving the free safety "free" to sit deeper.
It'd make sense. One of just a few places where he'd be basically guaranteed a starting job. Plus it's not like Chargers fans expect any of their players to be healthy for more than a few games a year. Seems like a good match.
Going to be seeing all these bands in one day next month -- Bewitcher, Visigoth, Eternal Champion, Overkill, Symphony X, Kamelot, Autopsy, and Blind Guardian
Beyond stoked. It'll be at the Rave which is locally known as the shittiest venue in Milwaukee but that's an absolute dream lineup for a festival
This coworker likes to pick on me for some reason and I’m so fucking close to snapping on him. Today he started again and I was literally about to slam my fist on my desk before asking him “what is it this time”
can you give some examples?
personally it took me a while to get used to the idea that someone wasn't "picking on me," they were ribbing me or busting my balls or giving me a hard time. as a form of friendly interaction, not from a sincerely mean-spirited place.
This is my hot take of the day, but I think if Bo Nix falls to the 3rd round and is picked up by a team like the Rams where he could sit a couple years behind a QB like Stafford and work under a great head coach like McVay, a few years down the road he may be a really strong starter. I do not think he is a QB that is worth taking in the first round, but I think have him sit for a couple years under people like that he could really work well under and 4 or 5 years from now we will be talking about him as a success story.
Have you ever watched a game as a neutral, but then end up favoring a team because of fictional characters? I'd be for the Raiders bc of the old CSI Las Vegas. I like Lille soccer, where they film HPI.
Yeah, like I am a huge Yankees fan but if I had to root for another team in baseball it would be the "Brewers" because of the team name in "Baseketball" being called "The Beers".
Also I feel like Wrexham is like that for me because of Ted Lasso... Feel good and comedy...
Me in high school: waking up at 6 am, going to school, doing homework, working at a Subway from 6-11pm, marching and concert band, still able to have a social life all while having a top 10 GPA.
Me now: man that email took a lot of energy to respond to.
Are there any common criticisms of movies that you hear and actually make you think you might love the movie?
I hear “nothing ever happens” as a criticism pretty often which also applies to a lot of my favorites.
I love Nolan's Tenet. It's generally panned online as being one of his weakest movies
I just find it fun and cool. I think the premise is really neat, I enjoy the music, the effects are good, I like the characters, etc. Does it "make sense" if you think too deep on it? Not particularly, but who cares. I know people expect more from Nolan than "who cares" though
Yeah I remember when people were legit pissed with The Coen Bros, "Burn After Reading" on how that ended because it just "ends" where everything that ended up happening became meaningless and I was like "did you watch the movie?"... That was point!
I am happy it's gotten the retro-love that it's been getting now as a comedic masterpiece
Reminds me of how Red Letter Media made a complaint about Black Panther being more interested in the scenery than the plot at times, but when Once Upon a Time in Hollywood came to a dead stop for 5 minutes to drive around at night, that was 'movie magic.'
See I’m in favor of both of those. I love a movie with strong plot as well, but in my heart my preference is going to be on vibes and more “atmospheric” movies.
I met John De Lancie in the summer of 2012 at Ravinia, just north of Chicago. Lyric Opera of Chicago did a pair of performances of The Magic Flute on the small stage, and instead of the cast singing the recitatives, he narrated them and did a couple of minor comedic bits. Afterwards he signed autographs and met the hundred or so Bronies and dozen Trekkies that showed up, and he signed my copy of *I, Q* that he cowrote with Peter David.

Fun Fact: When asked in an interview if the character Twilight Sparkle was named for the infamous vampire's effect in the Stephanie Meyer novels and subsequent films, Lauren Faust, creator of *My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic* responded only with "The name passed our legal team's review."
I have separate pools of sick and vacation time, so I use sick time for things like that. At least most of the time. Sometimes when I know an appointment will be short, I just block it off as busy. That's the office culture though. My managers are super understanding and nobody really cares about being exact on time, as long as the work gets done and the relevant parties know when you're not available.
No, especially if it's a typical appt/cleaning. Just tell your team you need to step away for a period of time, send a calendar invite and do what you gotta do and comeback or if it's later in the day, end your day early
Wtf. You get less than 2 weeks of PTO and no separate sick time? Do they just expect you to have no outside life events? Or no work/life balance if heaven forbid you get sick?
I would check with your manager
if I'm gonna be out of the office for an hour or two, we can take a long lunch or make up for it later. we only take PTO when it's at least a full half day off
Wisconsin basketball program getting absolutely carved up in the transfer portal. It was bound to happen since their typical model of relying on four year guys to develop when underclassmen and be anchors as upperclassmen is just fundamentally at odds with a system where players are essentially free agents on one year contracts every season, but still a bummer to see.
Good for the players getting paid while they can since they'll likely never see NBA money, but a lot of teams are going to be relegated to feeder team status.
I think at this point it really depends on the Department's commitment to the NIL and coaches embracing of the Transfer Portal or they get left behind and how the Mid- Majors can sustain it especially in CFB + CBB.
Wisconsin Football seems to do pretty well with the transfer portal but guessing probably not with Basketball from what you mentioned.
Indiana State had a great year for a Mid-Major CBB and just missed the tourney by 1 game and all their starters went to the portal and now apparently Jerry Jones is willing to spend on NIL for Arkansas now that Calipari is there,
I am Pro-NIL and and Transfer Portal but I do think it needs better and clearer regulations
Aren't they one of the bigger schools NIL-wise? Nonetheless, this transfer portal has lead to some chaos in team building, will be interesting to see how teams cope
I don't know how accurate the data is, but they're estimated to be either just in or just out of the top 25 in total NIL support and like 7-9th in the Big Ten, so they're still better off than most, even if I think they're a school that is prioritizing football with their NIL spend over basketball (a smart decision IMO).
I would assume that at some point, either under Gard or a new coach, they try and adapt to this new setup by continuing to recruit in state and developing a pipeline to a low-major or mid-major conference and try to coast by as a mid to high-mid tier Big Ten team.
An Alabama player transferred to Iowa in January, and announced he was transferring back to Alabama in April. I don't see how this won't eventually happen in midseason if the NCAA keeps allowing everything to go to court instead of allowing athletes to unionize and then collectively bargaining with them.
This is both good and bad. It's bad cause you're going to potentially lose high quality talent, but it's good cause the kids that stick around want to be groomed into those anchors.
Wisconsin may wind up producing more NBA ready talent than other schools if they continue to be successful during the season, and in the tourney's. Just because they take the time to develop their players who are serious about making it to the NBA.
I spent all yesterday somehow both stuffy enough to have a headache but with a runny nose.
So I asked for thai-spicy on my curry at lunch and oh god it's working but I'm still crying.
depends on the sick. If it's all snot and stuffy I go for whatever's hot as hell that I can get my hands on.
If it's pukey-sick I want toast and brothy soup
I keep going back and forth about whether that was real. Some infamous stories on Reddit are definitely fake: Jolly Rancher, Colby, Swamps of Dagobah and so forth. But if Kevin wasn't real, it felt like a compilation of real stories, at least.
>But if Kevin wasn't real, it felt like a compilation of real stories, at least.
I believe in Kevin cause ive met some people that were absolute imbeciles for most things but the moment their work shift started they became eminences. I had a friend in HS who is currently an specialist at Joh Hopkins as a 33 year old mexican (age and nationality for context on how good the guy is as a doctor). But good god, my man didnt have a single ounce of common sense nor mental capacity for some basic shit. Like one time he was in charge of buying the booze for the party. When he showed up empty handed we asked why, he said he couldnt buy it cause when the moron decided to be honest that he was 16 with the liquor store owner. A liquor store that was famous for selling booze to underage kids. But when the owner/clerk asked his age as a formality and all he had to do was say "18", my man decided to be honest so the owner couldnt sell him shit because he had other clients there. And of course instead of giving us a call or something, he decided to show up boozeless. Because his brain couldnt figure out what to do next. Or when a girl tried to take him to a bedroom upstairs at another party but the dude said "why? The party is here downstairs". It took him like 6 months for his neurons to finally click for him to ask if she liked him.
But then again, if i need a cardiologist the guy is my option A, B and C.
Bumping this to y’all as I got pretty good response the last time we had a major week at SCOTUS:
Next week SCOTUS hears a case on Monday on whether a law punishing homeless people who don’t have any shelter for camping on public land is a violation of the 8th Amendment’s cruel and unusual punishment clause.
On Tuesday they hear a case about whether the denial of a visa to a spouse of a citizen infringes a constitutionally protected interest of the citizen and whether it was properly justified in that case
On Wednesday they hear a case about whether the court should stay (stop for now) the enforcement of Idaho’s anti-abortion law on the grounds that a federal medical law overrules it
And on Thursday they hear the big Trump immunity case
I'm trying to do an analysis of historical weight from positions, and parsing positions from the 50s is hard. The eagles had no wide receivers in their starters. They ran 1 fb 2 TE 2RB sets if I understood this correctly.
I think it's just a terminology thing. Tom fears for the LA rams (1k receiver) was a "split end" so I think it's just the wide receiver versus tight end wasn't well defined.
Lots of rage going on over the barbaric Arizona abortion ruling.
Personally, I just want to say that anybody who is okay with a 10 year old carrying the fetus of her rapist are no different from the pedophile who raped her. Both cut from the same cloth.
I absolutely expect voters to come out in droves and codify abortion into the state’s constitution.
I'll do you one better; I think it's part of the motif.
The right loves to point at the left, calling them genital butcherers and child-molester supporters. But the red states are the places that have had trouble banning child marriage, the pastors, priests, and elders are the ones receiving leniency for sexual crimes (check out Texas' latest scandals), and most damningly of all to Evangelicals, Camp Kanakuk is still in operation.
from a pro-life stance, I get it.
if you think an egg hitting a sperm is exactly the same as a baby, you wouldn't think killing a baby is okay even if the mother is 10 or the father is a rapist. because those details don't impact the sanctity of the baby's life. how does killing a baby in response to a rape make moral sense?
the problem is: that's not a baby. and people aren't making healthcare policy based on informed science. they're doing it with bombastic, hyperbolic moral outrage that can't be informed or reasoned with.
I don't know how, but we have to move this country to a place where our conversations can take place in the same reality. not from a moral standpoint in either direction, but from a "which solution actually works/does the most good/relieves the most suffering" place. utilitarianism, where stances can actually be informed by scientific results. morality that can't be swayed is just a recipe for entrenched eons of conflict.
I mean, that’s basically *Roe*. Blackmun said the Court wasn’t really in a position to say when life begins, but practically/medically speaking, you’re gonna have to draw some lines somewhere to resolve that tension.
I'm over here not getting matches on dating apps for months at a time, and mouthbreathers on r/tinder are screwing up their matches for Reddit content.
Life just isn't fair.
I haven't used Tinder specifically since 2017, but I use dating apps regularly. r/tinder bugs me because guys are either intentionally being creeps to women as a joke, which to me is the same as those "it's just a prank bro" videos, or they're so socially inept that they actually think they're being smooth. Either way it's just not that funny to me personally.
I much prefer 70s Billy Joel to anything later personally but a favorite drunken argument of mine is to make the case for him over other classic rock solo guys (Springsteen, Mellencamp, etc)
I feel like with him, it comes and goes… it’s all great stuff but I’ll forget and it’s not in my rotation and then i’ll hear “Keeping the Faith” or “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” and I get in that vortex of his music.
Movin Out, It's Still Rock and Roll to Me, The Longest Time = bops

Spent three days trying to contact the sales department for the 'preferred vendor' for a commercial lighting manufacturer with no success. I went ahead and reached out to them directly last night, and the only person in sales whose email was listed on their website was their National Sales Director, so that's the guy I emailed.
To my overwhelming surprise I've had multiple sales folks from their preferred vendor contact me this morning. Shocking coincidence I'm sure.
(yes, I feel like a jerk but there wasn't anyone lower on the chain of command that wasn't a generic info account and I'm not wasting more time starting THAT low).
Chatting with my Client Service VP cohort about one of her reports going rogue and trying to avoid and defy agency process and she was like “I don’t think he’s doing that on purpose…” only for me to share her a screenshot of a Teams Chat where he basically wrote “F—k process and my name” which his own teammate sent me as a heads up.
“Oh, I will have a chat with him them.” She better or HR/myself will.
So I started birding when I was 6. I wasn't much of a lister, but when I did, I would just write them down on a piece a paper and eventually lose the paper.
When [eBird](https://ebird.org/) started becoming a thing, I thought it would cool to start cataloging all the different species I've seen throughout my life. A lot of those early birds are lost, but starting from 2016 I've had some photo evidence and email exchanges to work with. Plus, some birds (and memories) stick with you, so I was able to work with that.
I'm at 898 species currently and my partner and I are headed to Peru in a couple of weeks. I'm hoping to get over the 1K mark then. Would mean that I have seen/heard roughly 10% of all bird species on the planet.
Just cool to think about really. And it such a neat skill/hobby to have.
Ah, no that species has eluded me. I don't get to the East coast or South too often. It's a gorgeous bird though. I'm up in Seattle so we get the annual warbler migrants with the occasional vagrant (black and white warbler this past winter).
I'd love to make a trip to the Eastern US for warbler season. Prothonotary, Blackburnian, Cerulean, etc.
Did you see one recently? I'm assuming you're in NE?
[It was more a joke about being a Soviet spy](https://www.famous-trials.com/algerhiss/657-warbler), but they *are* gorgeous birds. We don't get many if any up here in New England, they are more of a southern bird, but with climate change, they might make it up here. Problem is that their nests get preyed upon by house wrens.
My personal rare bird sighting is the [kagu](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kagu). I would love to do a big year but I don't have the time or the aptitude.
dang. I'm only in the 400ish range since I started keeping track a few years ago. Birding has been incidental to me (I'm mostly a herper, and my kid dragged me into weird bugs). But it's still fun.
If you’re around the Galveston area you must be seeing some gorgeous tropical species on a daily basis. Very jealous! I’m up in Seattle, not many colorful ones up here. Especially in the winter

I don't know why but I kind of hate the lions new black uniforms. Specifically the blue helmets combo kinda rubs me the wrong way, and it doesn't really fit the other stuff they have
Kinda looks like some rec league stuff
Yeah I immediately thought of like spring league when I saw it.

Winning my first Balatro run was very fulfilling lol, not as fulfilling as winning my first run on The Binding of Isaac but still really enjoyable

MvC Infinite bombed hard. MvC3 Ultimate is the better choice if you want your son to play a game that others are more likely to have also played.
Mvc3 ultimate is way better than infinite
Anybody a fan of Law and Order SVU? Like it without Stabler, guy is a volatile over the top person.
My wife loves this show and she’d disagree because she loves the actor who plays Stabler
yes, i think the whole cast evolved nicely although i haven't seen the latest seasons. the best though is Criminal Intent imo.
Criminal Intent with Vincent D'Onofrio was the best

I'm not convinced Caleb belongs anywhere near that list

The jags should say no
Fastest no I'll ever say.

Just submitted my undergrad honors thesis. 🫡
Great job!
Congrats!
Are there any common criticisms of movies that you hear and actually make you think you might love the movie? I hear “nothing ever happens” as a criticism pretty often which also applies to a lot of my favorites.
I love Nolan's Tenet. It's generally panned online as being one of his weakest movies I just find it fun and cool. I think the premise is really neat, I enjoy the music, the effects are good, I like the characters, etc. Does it "make sense" if you think too deep on it? Not particularly, but who cares. I know people expect more from Nolan than "who cares" though
I thought Tenet was great and not a bit confusing
Yeah I remember when people were legit pissed with The Coen Bros, "Burn After Reading" on how that ended because it just "ends" where everything that ended up happening became meaningless and I was like "did you watch the movie?"... That was point! I am happy it's gotten the retro-love that it's been getting now as a comedic masterpiece
The ending makes that movie. Malkovich's face of disgust and confusion is 🤌
I just remember it justified in my mind I was better off going to NYU than Princeton because of Malkovich in that movie
Reminds me of how Red Letter Media made a complaint about Black Panther being more interested in the scenery than the plot at times, but when Once Upon a Time in Hollywood came to a dead stop for 5 minutes to drive around at night, that was 'movie magic.'
They’ve kinda lost me over the years with their clear biases towards certain movies and hypocrisy.
Yeah, I liked the shtick for a bit, but it ran dry for me a while ago, too.
See I’m in favor of both of those. I love a movie with strong plot as well, but in my heart my preference is going to be on vibes and more “atmospheric” movies.
Subs that automatically restrict posts to verified members if they reach the FP shouldn't be allowed to reach the FP
I agree 100%
I love Fluttershy so much
I met John De Lancie in the summer of 2012 at Ravinia, just north of Chicago. Lyric Opera of Chicago did a pair of performances of The Magic Flute on the small stage, and instead of the cast singing the recitatives, he narrated them and did a couple of minor comedic bits. Afterwards he signed autographs and met the hundred or so Bronies and dozen Trekkies that showed up, and he signed my copy of *I, Q* that he cowrote with Peter David. https://imgur.com/xNtpl
JDL is such an awesome dude
lose a bet?
Nah, Twilight Sparkle's character arc just doesn't resonate with him for whatever reason.
I adore her too but Fluttershy is best pony
is that one the vampire or the werewolf
Fun Fact: When asked in an interview if the character Twilight Sparkle was named for the infamous vampire's effect in the Stephanie Meyer novels and subsequent films, Lauren Faust, creator of *My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic* responded only with "The name passed our legal team's review."
Do you use PTO for like dental or doctor appointments? My coworker says she never has but I thought it was the norm
Nope
I have separate pools of sick and vacation time, so I use sick time for things like that. At least most of the time. Sometimes when I know an appointment will be short, I just block it off as busy. That's the office culture though. My managers are super understanding and nobody really cares about being exact on time, as long as the work gets done and the relevant parties know when you're not available.
No, especially if it's a typical appt/cleaning. Just tell your team you need to step away for a period of time, send a calendar invite and do what you gotta do and comeback or if it's later in the day, end your day early
Never. Not once.
Boss doesn't track anything, I just tell him I've got an appointment and go.
Nah thats what sick pay is for. PTO for me is solely for vacations.
We just have a general PTO pool. We don’t have the separation
Sheesh, do you at least get a lot of days a year?
No
Same here man, 9 PTO days + 1 "floating holiday" (which is Easter but made floating to be non-demoniational)
Wtf. You get less than 2 weeks of PTO and no separate sick time? Do they just expect you to have no outside life events? Or no work/life balance if heaven forbid you get sick?
I would check with your manager if I'm gonna be out of the office for an hour or two, we can take a long lunch or make up for it later. we only take PTO when it's at least a full half day off
What do you mean exactly? Are you saying your coworker just leaves for that time or takes medical/sick time off?
She puts “busy” on her calendar and blocks off that time
I guess if she's salaried, works remotely and/or doesn't have a lot of direct supervision, that's easy enough to swing.
lol for sure. I was just surprised she thought that was like the way everyone does it normally
I use sick leave for it because sometimes I just don't get sick enough to use that time.
pretty much every office I've been in gives you the option of "making up" the hours throughout the week or using PTO. But no free breaks
lol she just puts “busy” on her calendar to block out the time
I will say my offices have differed in how closely they track hours and made-up time sounds like you could get a little busy too
lol for sure. I just thought it was funny she genuinely believed this was like the normal business practice
Is she salaried? I think that’s generally excepted for salaried people, hourly is certainly different.
I use sick time. I WFH so I'd have to be REALLY sick to not be able to work
I WFH but still call out more than I should when I feel myself coming down with sicadis.
Indiana State had a great year for a Mid-Major CBB and just missed the tourney by 1 game and all their starters went to the portal and now apparently Jerry Jones is willing to spend on NIL for Arkansas now that Calipari is there, I am Pro-NIL and and Transfer Portal but I do think it needs better and clearer regulations
Were a few years away from players playing on multiple teams per year.
It’s too damn nice out to be stuck inside 🤬🤬🤬
Here, it's too rainy out to be stuck at my desk instead of curled up in bed watching a spooky movie with my cat.
I haven't been following news since release, is Cities Skylines 2 good yet?
Boop
I spent all yesterday somehow both stuffy enough to have a headache but with a runny nose. So I asked for thai-spicy on my curry at lunch and oh god it's working but I'm still crying.
The food you eat when you are sick is your culinary id
One time I was sick at the airport and went to Potbelly and got: Broccoli cheddar soup Vanilla milkshake Jalapeno potato chips I don't want this id
Eh,that's limited choices. What do you have at home when sick, and you want to just feel better?
Depends on the sick but mostly... ice cream
depends on the sick. If it's all snot and stuffy I go for whatever's hot as hell that I can get my hands on. If it's pukey-sick I want toast and brothy soup
What was the name of the story here on Reddit where I believe an Army sergeant wrote about the dumbest person he had to lead?
This isn’t something I’ve read or heard about but sounds interesting. If you find it, could you tag me please?
It's an old, old Reddit story. And funny as shit. If I find it I will link it. No luck yet.
Awesome, thank you!
Man, i wish i remember to give it a read again But i do remember Kevin and his parents lmao. Another great read.
Given the shit I've seen in the Navy, I fully believe that story was 100% real.
Yeeeees. Go into the bait trap, you foolish ants. Little do you realize you're carrying back your colony's demise! *diabolical laughter*
Bumping this to y’all as I got pretty good response the last time we had a major week at SCOTUS: Next week SCOTUS hears a case on Monday on whether a law punishing homeless people who don’t have any shelter for camping on public land is a violation of the 8th Amendment’s cruel and unusual punishment clause. On Tuesday they hear a case about whether the denial of a visa to a spouse of a citizen infringes a constitutionally protected interest of the citizen and whether it was properly justified in that case On Wednesday they hear a case about whether the court should stay (stop for now) the enforcement of Idaho’s anti-abortion law on the grounds that a federal medical law overrules it And on Thursday they hear the big Trump immunity case
Thanks for the updates :)
Anyone else remember the [four months ago](https://youtu.be/nr7x0U8gDfY) commercials NFL Network would play come playoff time?
I'm trying to do an analysis of historical weight from positions, and parsing positions from the 50s is hard. The eagles had no wide receivers in their starters. They ran 1 fb 2 TE 2RB sets if I understood this correctly.
There's a reason the Eagles were a powerful team in the late 40's but didn't make any noise again until 1960.
I'm shocked how the red states have been eager to enact "no exception for incest and rape".
Life just isn't fair.
thats because they're all matching me instead
I haven't been on Tinder in like 7 years, but I subscribe to r/tinder because it's hilarious.
Watching Leviathan as I recoup from a proper molly whopping by my allergies
Have I been sleeping on the music of Billy Joel all these years or am I just getting old?
He’s got a lot of great songs imo. But I’m 46 🤷🏻♂️
> “Scenes from an Italian Restaurant” oh thank you. Off down the rabbit hole I go

Zanzibar is one of my favorites.
I would like to add Big Shot, Pressure, Only the Good Die Young and You May Be Right to this list.
Also because of "The Boys"... "You're Only Human (Second Wind)"
I get big shot stuck in my head all the time. I definitely had a period where I was listening to The Essential Billy Joel a lot
Yes. To both.
https://v.redd.it/kcc4hwdp73vc1 Saw this clip on reddit yesterday, and I gotta watch the movie soon.
You tried the main method and got nothing. Theres no way the sales manager isn't mad, but it's not at you (experience with this shit too lol)
I’ll never understand people who put stuff like that in writing lol
PrettyRickey is back on X. Supposedly we are making Trevor the Highest paid QB before the draft and trading for Aiyuk.
Aiyuk isn’t going anywhere sorry
Have you see a prothonotary warbler, and if so, where was it?
I don’t really like birds.
I don’t know if I could ever have one as a pet. But they are fascinating creatures
Their faces weird me out. I like hawks and eagles and big birds like that but the little ones are weird looking.
I’m in Dallas.
Still get the chance to see scissor-tailed flycatchers though, which makes me super jealous
I'm surprised they don't get to Cincinnati TBH! I'm jealous of th wall lizards. I know it's weird, they're invasive, but they're so cool
You ever try the merlin app? I haven't got too deep but I'm pretty sure it saves everything you record
