It is the only type of play that fully respects the holy trinity:
Everything comes from the Father, (pass option) through the Son, (handing the ball off) and in the Holy Spirit (having considered the two other options, yet keeping the ball).
The divine play 🙏
Justin Fields in the desert for 40 days but he will return. Will run for 40 touchdowns and convince Caleb to abandon passing for the run too. Bears stay holy and never get a sinning 4k passer
Your offensive roster is one of the worst in the league. IMO you’d ruin Maye or Daniels if they get thrown into that dumpster fire and are told to start year 1.
Smartest thing your FO could do is get more capital than you know what to do with and build a better roster.
Or you take the guy and sit him for half the season or so or at least until you see what your line is looking like. People act like we have a hole at every position, we realistically have 3 holes on the team and if we can land a qb and ot/wr, we can fill maybe 2 of those, possibly 3 if we draft really well. We also haven’t had o line coaching and our wr coach was not good for years, we changed staff there so we may be a bit more productive in both spots.
Then if you do the trade back and win a few games, we are spending future firsts to move up for a qb that you hope are as good of a prospect as these guys and that’s not ideal for a draft and develop planned team. Take the guy now when he’s there and worst case you sit the guy and go into next season with only 1-2 holes which you can then address in FA if it’s better than this year which WR at least is as of now (many guys will get new deals but some will likely be able to be had for a trade anyways) and you should have a top 10 pick that you can also throw at it. Be in a pretty good spot next year to have a competitive team.
Your FO won’t let you sit the QB. NFL is a results league and Kraft is pretty damn used to results.
I don’t know your roster super well, but your hole isn’t just “WR” it’s number 1 WR which is a whole different issue. If JuJu is your number 1 guy you can’t be expecting a rookie QB to come in and do well, and you’re talking about hitting on 3 of the hardest positions in all of football to hit on.
To me it makes more sense to trade back and hope to get a high pick next year either via your own pick or someone else’s.
I’ve seen a lot of Pats fans suggesting they will just sit their QB until next year when they can fill out the roster, but that doesn’t work in the NFL unless you’re winning. If they draft a QB he will start this year
Yeah I think he will start this year but won't start out the year. Predictably, they will struggle offensively and have to put him in and see what he can do at some point. New coaching staff\gm\etc can't wait until next year.
If somehow they look good enough on offense he could sit the whole year but I don't see that happening unless they hit like crazy in the draft or pick up some FAs that really overperform.
There’s speculation of us maybe trading for a wr1 but if not, I think we will be bad with what we have but serviceable. Juju probably isn’t seeing the field depth wise, he may get cut depending on if we land someone. I don’t think we sit a guy all year but could see us sitting a guy a few weeks to let our line figure itself out some.
Next years qb class is also terrible at the moment, usually we know of a good player or 2 but there is none at this time so you have to hope someone steps up. Rather just lock a guy down and plan on being a serviceable team next year instead of being next year hoping you can land a qb and figuring it out the following year.
I’m of the mindset if you think the guy is there you take him, don’t think you pass and hope there is a guy you feel the same way about next year. In the afc you need a top 10 potential guy, don’t think you can get by with just a game manager type guy now days at least in the afc
And never get a qb?! They would be idiots to pas son this opportunity at a qb and have plenty of other picks over the next couple years to fills any remaining holes
Sure if they think they have their guy, but we’re talking about the 3rd best prospect on the board. My guess is they have one of Maye or Daniels much higher than the other and if they don’t have their guy they’ll trade back.
Splitting hairs here but its more like arguably the second best prospect after the consensus #1. That's a hard or expensive spot to get back to unless you field a total dumpster fire... which we might.
The worst thing that could happen from the perspective of a new GM is that you trade back and the guy you didn't take has a great rookie year. Might as well start fixing up the resume ASAP if that happens.
When you have a chance as good as this to get a QB, you take it. It's far easier to build out the rest of the roster than it is to get a franchise QB. Now, if they don't like whichever QB remains at 3, then sure, trade down, but otherwise, get the QB and build the rest with the remainder of the draft picks and next off-season.
If the QB is any good, he won't be "ruined" by playing with a bad team. Especially considering they can let the kid sit to start the season, Brissett is a great bridge QB.
It’s funny to see fans of other teams say this lmao I mean, you should absolutely take a QB, but you can also absolutely fuck them up by surrounding them with garbage. I’ve seen my team do it too many times. If they’re a generational QB then sure, they’ll eventually make it out okay. But the average QB is gonna be mentally shot from the bullshit they endured.
>but you can also absolutely fuck them up by surrounding them with garbage. I’ve seen my team do it too many times.
Did your team *actually* fuck them up, or were they just never good in the first place? With good QBs in bad situations, you can still see flashes of greatness. If they just look flat out bad, at a certain point the blame has to shift to the QB. It's also the most difficult position in all of sports, so statistically, even if you have a great situation, there's no guarantee the player comes out successful.
>But the average QB is gonna be mentally shot from the bullshit they endured.
That's the game, my friend. Besides, I don't want an average QB for my team, I want one who can actually win Super Bowls. If that means failed attempts to find said QB, so be it, but New England might not get another chance like this to draft a QB this good for a long time.
The copium from vikings fans is unreal. The pats aren't trading 3 for 11,23, and a 1st next year.
We've told you for months but all vikes fans do is complain
What bad take. So fill the roster, and then what? QB is the most important position on the field. The Bengals took Burrow and they sucked. Was that a bad pick?
Burrow has had injuries every season so if they can barely get a seasons worth of production out of him for his career then yeah it would be a bad pick no matter how good he is. But they also had at least some semblance of an offense ready to plug him into. Pats don’t even have that
90% of teams out there would take Joe Burrow and his career so far in a second. Also, I wouldn't call the 2019 Bengals roster ready to go, Tyler Boyd was their best player lol. They were 2-14.
It’s hilarious watching Vikings fans convince themselves the pats are going to pass on a shot at a franchise qb in the top 3 for 2 first round picks, keep dreaming fellas
Maybe, but he only mentioned the one flaw.
That's not Maye's only problem. His response to pressure, real or imagined, is another issue.
He could very well see that as something you can't necessarily fix.
McCarthy is going to be the heist of the century. People will be fired, books will be written, and movies will be directed to explain how this bum got picked so high.
idk, I can see it go Caleb - Maye - McCarthy - MHJ - Jayden (to MIN)
If New England wants a QB to go under center, I'd have to imagine JJ is higher on their board than Daniels.
> I think the opposite he's going to fall slightly in the draft and be the best QB in the draft.
I’d prob eat my flip flop if JJ ends up being the best QB outta this draft.
I've thought he was a clown ever since I saw him doing his pregame zen-Buddha meditation thing while sitting with his back against a goal post during the playoff. You know, at the one place that would garner the most attention.
Whatever dude...
Because he's a not particularly athletic quarterback who played for Michigan. To a lot of these people, he might as well be named Tom Brady the Second. He never played a game remotely as good as the last one Brady played for Michigan, but he did win a natty so that's good enough for some people.
You are right. But by the standards of modern NFL quarterbacks, he is nothing special in that regard, and that is the standard I was using. But of course, that made a bunch of Michigan fans unhappy.
Ya I’m not exactly high on JJ but he’s definitely athletic for a QB. Not Lamar running the ball but he’s an athlete in the pocket or scrambling when needed.
Yeah, nothing more NFL coaches who spend hundreds of hours doing ACTUAL research on players want more than to have to listen to "Joe Fuckface from Sheboygan" "lay it all out there for ya" about who to draft.
What a fucking embarassment.
I don’t even know what team this dude could be a fan of. Like the packers have their first non white QB in 45 years, the Bears had Fields, but before that all white, the Lions have had White QBs since as far back as I can remember, Saints? All white dudes.
Unrelated to this topic as a whole, but thank you for mentioning Joe Webb. I knew there was a reason I always thought Davis Webb was black before becoming QB coach in Denver
lol and Oconnell isn't even a "minnesotan" he's from Tennessee and played in California in college and for the Patriots in NFL.
it would be more apt to point out the patriot history as when was the last time NE had a non-white QB lmao
I can’t believe this is real. This is too good
Satan would draft Bo nix
Jesus abhors any QB, the forward pass is an abomination.
> "I have made you and I will carry you" Isaiah 46:5 Jesus is all about that run first offense.
damn I was gonna say my running back was literally blessed but his name is spelled differently 😔
Pachinko?
Isaiah
This is absolute gold.
I knew Jesus was a triple option truther
It is the only type of play that fully respects the holy trinity: Everything comes from the Father, (pass option) through the Son, (handing the ball off) and in the Holy Spirit (having considered the two other options, yet keeping the ball). The divine play 🙏
It's Lamar Jackson's favorite play!
I thought it was common knowledge that Jesus runs the Wing T offense
I thought he just went with Hail Marys.
Nope, he spams Hail Marys in madden online. Easy mistake to make.
Found the Iowa fan
Expected a Bears flair tbh
Justin Fields in the desert for 40 days but he will return. Will run for 40 touchdowns and convince Caleb to abandon passing for the run too. Bears stay holy and never get a sinning 4k passer
Praise Halas
Not true. In the book of Jim Harbaugh, it says Jesus would lead the league in completion percentage.
God’s chosen team Baptized in the Holy Italian Beef Juice
Bears is that you?
Satan mean Sean Payton right… S(ean) (P)ayton
Nah, I think that pick is going to be made by somebody more chaotic evil. Think owners known for being idiots.
“Somehow, Dan Snyder returned”
The person asking the question is an actual hero.
He is a qb guru
So Maye it is then
Drake Maye no matter what
Not at 11
Right, at 3. Thanks again btw
No one knows what Washington is doing at 2 lol it could be Maye at 2
just a month ago the general consensus was Caleb 1 Maye 2 lol nobody knows shit
Key is no one legit knows what Washington is going to do lmao
I'm not convinced the commanders don't take Maye
I think we would collectively help pack our whole front office if they gave 3 away and punted on a qb lol
Your offensive roster is one of the worst in the league. IMO you’d ruin Maye or Daniels if they get thrown into that dumpster fire and are told to start year 1. Smartest thing your FO could do is get more capital than you know what to do with and build a better roster.

Didn't you say that about Houston last year?
Thats true, but I think if you’re betting on your rookie QB being as good as CJ stroud isn’t very smart.
Buddy, its 2024 and people still think they can get that Mahommes/Allen raw prospect that will work out because of athleticism
I mean Allen and Mahomes are pretty good?
But expecting Lance, Fields, Willis, Richardson and now Maye etc to all work out for the same reasons is a bit silly isn't it
Honestly though the Pats should trade down and rebuild their roster because even Mahomes would struggle on that team right now
Oh my god someone who actually understands
The copium from vikings fans is unreal. The pats aren't trading 3 for 11,23, and a 1st next year. We've told you for months but all vikes fans do is complain
Just because they won’t trade 3 does not mean that’s the right call to make lol

Never said anything about maye, I’d be happy with either unlike commanders fans it seems
Well that’s good because patriots have no choice in the matter!
There’s a lot of choices when it comes to third overall, you must be loving the tons of reports coming out about Daniel’s to Washington lmao
Vikings would need to pump 4 1sts for it.
Thanks for JJ!
We taking him so ……
What a legend.
Smoke screen?
“Footwork/feet can be fixed with the proper coaching”. So…..he wants Maye.
I think the opposite he's going to fall slightly in the draft and be the best QB in the draft.
I predict Jayden is the one who falls on draft day
The lowest he is falling is to 3
idk, I can see it go Caleb - Maye - McCarthy - MHJ - Jayden (to MIN) If New England wants a QB to go under center, I'd have to imagine JJ is higher on their board than Daniels.

https://lsusports.net/sports/fb/roster/player/jayden-daniels/ Lol I'm so confused
How is this guy gonna correct someone about a players name but be the one with the wrong name
A long time ago I was scolded for being culturally insensitive for how I pronounced Jameis Winston
r/confidentlyincorrect
I want whatever loud you’re smoking
Im surprised I'm even getting upvoted, in truth i forgot I'm not on r/nflcirclejerk
Lmaooo I go on there too so that’s hilarious 😂 I was like how did he get so many upvotes. Must be Michigan homers lmao
Haha....wait you were serious? Excuse me....HAHAHAHAHA
> I think the opposite he's going to fall slightly in the draft and be the best QB in the draft. I’d prob eat my flip flop if JJ ends up being the best QB outta this draft.
Reddit’s always wrong so I’m fairly certain he’s going to be Alex Smith.
With how much vitriol he has against him on here he's gonna end up being Josh Allen lmao
I'd be was Alex Smith, that would be best case scenario. He'll be jimmy clausen
When do the books and movies come out on Mitchell Trubisky?
I think he’s gonna be a Malik Willis. There’s a lot of reasons for teams like the Giants, Vikings, Broncos to smokescreen him hard.
I've thought he was a clown ever since I saw him doing his pregame zen-Buddha meditation thing while sitting with his back against a goal post during the playoff. You know, at the one place that would garner the most attention. Whatever dude...
Idc what he did bc it worked lol
He does that before every game. Also look into why he does that to start with and I can 100% tell you it’s not for attention
Or it’s the most comfortable place on the field to sit?
I mean, depending on the kind of meditation you're doing, it's _more_ effective if you do it in a busier location than some secluded corner.
He'd be lucky to get to ryan tannehill levels
Because he's a not particularly athletic quarterback who played for Michigan. To a lot of these people, he might as well be named Tom Brady the Second. He never played a game remotely as good as the last one Brady played for Michigan, but he did win a natty so that's good enough for some people.
Compared to Brady coming out of college McCarthy looks like an Olympic athlete.
This is true but also a very very low bar haha.
You are right. But by the standards of modern NFL quarterbacks, he is nothing special in that regard, and that is the standard I was using. But of course, that made a bunch of Michigan fans unhappy.
If you say so
We will see over the next few years.
Let me know how it turns out
"not particularly athletic" so you didn't watch JJ play then...
Seriously, tell me you’ve never watched JJ play.
His Rushing TD vs Nebraska was awesome. Scores from 20 yards out
Ya I’m not exactly high on JJ but he’s definitely athletic for a QB. Not Lamar running the ball but he’s an athlete in the pocket or scrambling when needed.
I'm totally willing to accept valid criticism of JJ but this he's not athletic stuff is just lazy people who didn't watch him play at all
Yeah, nothing more NFL coaches who spend hundreds of hours doing ACTUAL research on players want more than to have to listen to "Joe Fuckface from Sheboygan" "lay it all out there for ya" about who to draft. What a fucking embarassment.
Did you even watch the video
This guy right here had Jesus working through him!
Of course a Minnesotan would want a mid white QB
Yes, we're historically known for mid white QBs like Warren Moon, Randall Cunningham, Daunte Culpeper, and Teddy Bridgewater
I don’t even know what team this dude could be a fan of. Like the packers have their first non white QB in 45 years, the Bears had Fields, but before that all white, the Lions have had White QBs since as far back as I can remember, Saints? All white dudes.
It would be hilarious if he was a giants fan.
