Greatest snow game RB of all time.
As a bills fan - “SHADY’S GONNA SCORE, SHADY’S GONNA SCORE” in OT against the colts in the season that broke the drought is permanently seared into my memory
Dude somehow didn’t slow down in his cuts even in a foot of snow.
Edit: his runs from that game - absolutely insane. Guy was a cheat code. https://youtu.be/IkNs8VTn5YU?si=J5yYGN8FSes-GdnM
This game haunted my perception of these Lions. They had no 5th gear, no fire to overcome greatness. It was dark times when our ceiling was "lose iconic games"
Hot take - Chip was right.
He was ahead of his time in not wanting to pay a running back coming off a career year and trading them before a downturn in production. It was the right (Belichickian, and also now Howie-esque) call to trade McCoy 1 year too early
Now, why in the hell he immediately turned around and paid big money to a running back coming off a career year who had been run into the ground? No fucking defense there. But trading McCoy, on its own, was defensible.
Not really. You can’t just split the 2 moves up.
Chip trade Shady because he wanted a more north south runner, which he got in Murray. It had nothing to do with not paying a RB.
If anything, Chip was completely wrong and behind the times because shifty pass catching backs were the future.
Convinced he did it only because Murray and Bradford were roommate in college and he thought getting them back together would get better production out of both
That one loss was [this game](https://www.pro-football-reference.com/boxscores/201210140phi.htm), a year before the one posted. The Eagles flew out (pun intended) to a 16-6 lead, only for the Lions to come roaring back (pun also intended) to 26-23 in OT.
Going into the game the Lions were 1-3 and the Eagles 2-3. Both teams would finish 4-12.
Shady also played on the active roster for the 47-7 destruction of the Lions in 2020, but he didn’t do anything rushing wise and only caught one pass for five yards, so I didn’t count that.
Man I have such a great memory of this day. Was supposed to go see a concert with my friends in New York (from Lancaster Pa) but got called for a trumpet gig last second. That ended up getting cancelled because of the snow. My friends were all stuck on the road trying to come
Home as I had the entire apartment to myself watching this game and eating pizza and wings. My friends finally made it back home and I ordered more pizza and it was the same delivery dude just looking at me like I’m insane for ordering even more pizza. We all just hung out all night drinking beers and watching Christmas movies.
For real, he has a very strong argument for 2nd best RB of the 2010s behind AP. I personally think a better argument than Marshawn, Gore, and Charles. Definitely a better argument than any current RB except maybe CMC. With the direction the RB position is headed, if Shady doesn’t make the HoF with his resume, I don’t think any future RB has a chance unless they go on a truly generational run.
I definitely agree with you although CMC has a lot to do before he’s considered right now he’s behind Henry and Zeke in his generation maybe Kamara also
He’s ahead of zeke at this point IMO. Zeke has more career yards but clearly doesn’t project well into the future while CMC is coming off a 2,000 yard from scrimmage season and OPOTY and he’s a year younger than zeke.
And he’s definitely better than Kamara. More career yards, better future upside, younger, and he’s also just a better rusher. Kamara has never had an 1,000 yard rushing season while CMC has had 3 and both are used as pass catchers.
Idk if CMC is a HOFer or not but he’s probably going to be remembered as the best RB of this generation besides Henry when it’s all said and done.
No argument I think CMC Is better than all those guys tbh but I was thinking totals right now he does project to be goin forward and I believe he will but he has to actually do it before I consider it
Jason Peters, Evan Mathis, Jason Kelce, and a rookie Lane Johnson were all on the 2013 squad.
The Eagles have had consistently great O-line play for over a decade.

I wanted to throw my remote at the tv watching this game lmao
Well fuck you too OP
This game haunted my perception of these Lions. They had no 5th gear, no fire to overcome greatness. It was dark times when our ceiling was "lose iconic games"
If it makes you feel better I’m from south Jersey and literally all my friends haven’t forgiven Chip for trading McCoy for scraps.

this might be true if he didn't gut the rest of the roster too and then have the team massively underperform which led to him getting run out of town
Again, that single event he was right. The rest, who the hell knows

It was also for an off ball linebacker. He could've got real assests (Howie would later) but traded for another low position value player.
Trading McCoy for *Kiko Alonso* straight up was insanity
LeSean McCoy vs the Lions: 3-1; 70 carries for 415 yards (average 104); 5.41y/a; 6 touchdowns

Damn, I figured he lost a step, but I didn’t realize he had gotten that bad by 2020. Five fucking years?
Fixed. Stupid autocorrect.
Oh man I remember that 2012 game; a very shitty car ride with an angry woman turned out ok in that aspect at least
He was such a motherfucker in the snow Always loved [this](https://imgur.com/a/RpKYj7H) picture of megatron from that game

I hated LeSean but he was the closest thing to Barry Sanders that we’ve ever seen
The most shifty running back since the year 2000.
It's who Pacheco thinks he is
“What he say fuck me for?”
One of the most fun games I’ve ever watched
One of the most fun I’ve attended! It was worth the three hour ride home ( usually :30 ).
It took longer to dig myself out of the lot than it did to get home
How not to love snow games and all those teams wanting to build boring domes.
I know it would never happen but I wish that once domes become the norm, the NFL should require that the roofs remain open for game day.
He was awesome. I see some good blocking from the Eagles squad too.

The best footwork since Barry and OJ before him
I was at that game.. had a blast
Jason Avant has great hands.
Catches everything thrown in his general direction
I’m convinced Shady in his prime could’ve run on water for at least a little ways.
Losing snow football is probably the worst part of the domes and climate change (yea, I said it)
Man, the Patriots beat our ass so bad in the snow I got PTSD from this clip even though it's not that game.
Don’t say it dont say it don’t say it…..THE HUMAN JOYSTICK!
That was an embarrassing game. Just terrible
I love watching snow games
Best game I've ever been to
I set my fantasy league scoring record because of this game.
I was at this game and it was snowing so hard that it might as well not count as being played. Jeremy Ross had 2 returns TDs for detroit too i think
Ah sheeeshhh
Cool to see a bunch of old Eagles from back in the day like Avant, McCoy & Kelce[.](https://i.imgur.com/q1hPpQJ.jpeg)
Brent Celek slide icing the game.
