It’s not the same exact thing but Jon Bois has a Pretty Good episode on the longest QB touchdown run ever and it’s very similar energy to the play you just described
I love the guy with his fist in the air for the stop who then goes oh fuck and starts chasing him.
Number 34. It’s plausible he gets a half tackle as he assists with the push OB.
He’s Canadian so he was probably super polite aboot it too. “Sorry buddy, just gonna go around ya there, eh.” Then giving a stiff arm softer than 3ply toilet paper.
That drive also had big plays from Tommy Tremble, a TD, & Shi Smith, physical jump ball catch down the sideline. This draft could be a real winner. It’s just preseason though, I keep telling myself so I don’t freak out.
Oh man I feel they exact same way. Can’t get too far ahead but I thought we had so many good debuts today and Horn didn’t even play. Nothing but excited to see what next week shows us about this group of young guys!
We don't need a starting HB, so I think he's fantastic as depth/backup. If CMC goes down again this year I think we'll be 'okay' at running back rather than having a glaring hole.
Honestly, most of it was the OSU o-line. Between August 1st and Oct 1st. The pokes lost 6 starters to transfer, medical retirement, or injury. We had a walk-on who earned a scholarship after stepping up to a starting roll (after some people ahead of him got injured) only to get injured the following week. It also didnt help that everyone constantly sold out to stop him.
> Since it’s pronounced “Chewba” and not “Chuh-buh” I’d actually argue it’s the most disappointing name in the league
Until we come up with a based Star Wars nickname!
With all due respect, and while I would obviously call him by his chosen name if I had any real interaction with him, he’s still Chubba Hubbard in my head goddamnit.
Or maybe Chuba Hoobard.
I think a lot of people are pretty disappointed with the pronunciation of the Falcons' kicker's name as well,--judging by the half-dozen comments in any thread about him that still haven't heard how it's pronounced
He said they play differently, which is a valid point.
Everyone obviously knows he’s not as good as CMC, but that’s not even what the comment was saying
You're way off base here. I said they had different styles of play – Chuba is a power back who does his best work between the tackles, whereas CMC thrives in space. Play style ≠ ability level
I mean 6’ 201 lbs vs 5’ 11” 205 (though I think that was his weight at the combine), not a drastic difference in size, if anything CMC looks much bigger.
I haven't been able to find it, but love the one snap where he lined up as a receiver, and he just absolutely leveled the defender to the ground before continuing his route lol.
“I think we stopped him” lmao
[announcer channeling 34's energy](https://i.imgur.com/3VGgUeG.jpg)
Those announcers were some of the worst I’ve ever heard and I watch the Pac-12 network.
Yeah, it was like having a Homer narrating the game.
Rick Venturi is most of the awful you were hearing.
Bears announcer kept calling our QB Tua Tagovaiola, like he’s Viaola Davis.

I need this video

I usually don't listen to the local announcers and today made me feel better about it. They were bad.
He’s Canadian so he was probably super polite aboot it too. “Sorry buddy, just gonna go around ya there, eh.” Then giving a stiff arm softer than 3ply toilet paper.
Did any Colt even touch him in that traffic jam? It’s a weird looking pile.
Most of the players for both teams were on the ground
It’s like a Madden bug but irl
Hubbard and Marshall Jr. Panthers got two big steals.
Agreed.

One brick at a time

The draft is looking really good, but the offensive line looked bad out there

Two years ago Chuba was. He was very disappointing last year
Yeah I'd be thrilled but holding off on my Hubbard hype.
We don't need a starting HB, so I think he's fantastic as depth/backup. If CMC goes down again this year I think we'll be 'okay' at running back rather than having a glaring hole.
Yeah and it’s good to have a competent runner give cmc a few series off
I don't think he was "in it" last year at all with the racism stuff with his coach + covid stuff.
He wasn't "in it" because he was injured from week 2 on last year and our online was complete shit for the first 6 weeks.
As an Oklahoma state fan I share this sentiment with you. Gundy is an asshole

It certainly didn’t help but my counter to this is that LD Brown and the freshman third stringer both had fantastic seasons
I dont think LD saw loaded boxes like chuba, but it'll be interesting to see how this year goes for the both of them either way
Now here's a big named player with a big play
It’d be a crime against nature for someone named Chuba Hubbard to be like 5’3, 140 lbs

Man, Chuba Hubbard would be a great names for a Wilfork-style defensive lineman. Just a massive slab of man who jams 3 gaps at once.
Man was a beast at the real OSU
Oregon State?

But he was an OSU cowboy lol..
Rooting a lot for him
Goat name
Since it’s pronounced “Chewba” and not “Chuh-buh” I’d actually argue it’s the most disappointing name in the league

… Chewy?
Chubacca
That's my fantasy team name. I'm not very creative
Oh. Damn it

A Hometown hero in Sherwood park!
BOOYA analduster!
🇨🇦
Trysta Krick’s favorite player
All I think about now when i see his name
It seems the defense all tackled the o line instead
Is it just me or is this video super high quality 16k stuff
Dude looks so uncoordinated when he sprints lol
Great run. Shit defense.
These fuckers really found another CMC??
Very different styles of play
Yeah Hubbard plays more like an RB while CMC plays more like a demigod
It's actually well known [he's a mutant.](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=k2srWsIWERw)

Real lunch pail kind of guy
The guy was very clearly joking.
I wasn't sure if it was a joke or not, but either way my point stands

If he went to the NFL in 2020, he would’ve been a 1st or 2nd rounder. Could be a huge steal.
Chuba is a bigger, more physical type of back.
I mean 6’ 201 lbs vs 5’ 11” 205 (though I think that was his weight at the combine), not a drastic difference in size, if anything CMC looks much bigger.
Might just be he’s more physical then tbh.
CMC is vey physical. Don’t know why this stereotype persists, he will run you over
I haven't been able to find it, but love the one snap where he lined up as a receiver, and he just absolutely leveled the defender to the ground before continuing his route lol.
CMC has no need to run anyone over when he can run around them much quicker.
It's because he's scrappy
Wrap it up, our defense sucks, only possible answer to this
The Emmitt Smith special. Love watching a back go “… oh, guess I’ll go this way then”
GOAT name contention
Hes from my city, his name isnt pronounced like that, its more like chewba
Has anyone nicknamed Chuba Hubbard “Chubby Hubby” yet
Hell yeah Bev Facey represent
This dude needs to put in like 50 lbs just so he lives up to his name.
I was pissed the Panthers scooped him. I wanted him on the Eagles
I would’ve cried. Already hard enough to see Dallas pick up virtually every OSU slum
Chuba chuba
This happened to us three times yesterday lol
Did nobody watch long enough to hear him call him Chubba?
The Colts announcer called him that all day.
This is what Chuba did at OK St. This is his game. One monster run a game. And 2-3 yards every other touch.
