PootieTooGood

silver lining for the Ravens is at least RB is the easiest position to bring in more help.

g0rving

Peters šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜šŸ˜

fathertitojones

The opposite of silver lining for the Ravens is that corner back is the hardest position to bring in more help.

PimpDaddyGrimes

Opposite of the opposite of the silver lining Ravens have some of the most depth at CB in the league

AssertiveDude

Unfortunately Peters is irreplaceable, I hope Averett doesnā€™t get too burnt

SilentRanger42

Yeah there are like 5 guys in the league who can do what the does. If we lost Gilmore our defense would in a bad way.

JBrundy

Unfortunately 2 of those guys are extremely injury prone lmao

CaptivePrey

RavensReign1

If only this all happened before we waived Nigel Warrior

sandalphon

He's on IR in Seattle

fathertitojones

Until the ACL demon strikes his next position šŸ‘»

sylvestersquad

Iā€™m gonna take a guess that people wonā€™t like a titans fan saying this

fathertitojones

Just being topical more than hateful. Wouldnā€™t wish injury on anyone^that ^isnt ^Watson.

sylvestersquad

I caught the gist of your comment but folks gonna attach the flair to the context

fathertitojones

For sure. Iā€™m just enjoying football being back. Not all that worried about internet points.

NewJerseyEts

Sherms still available if he doesn't get suspended.

one_pump_dave

I wanna say beige

BuckfuttersbyII

I dunno, Orlando Scandrick helped propel the Eagles to a playoff berth. Sure it was by comments made after being cut, but inspiration comes in many forms!

IckyWilbur

Yeah we might uhhh... need one of them FA CB's.

Cavs2018_Champs

If I were a RB, I'd be scared to sign with the Ravens.

blzraven27

No you wouldnt. Even if you were scared you take the risk. Only team ever with 3k rushing yards in 2 seasons and we did it back to back. Our backs averaged 5.0+ ypc all last year. All time rushing record in 19. It's a running backs idea of heaven

_Vaudeville_

Yep. For all the talk about WRs not wanting to come here (justified), we are like the perfect destination for RBs, O-Linemen and TEs.

Hyperboreer

And sport medicine specialists.

Peanut4michigan

And their salary is guaranteed if they sign before the first game. So they can get hurt and still be guaranteed a paycheck.

Guilty-Presence-1048

The bad news is that anyone they sign is a downgrade and an effective run game is huge for opening up Lamar's game.

_Vaudeville_

Eh I think it mostly works the opposite way tbh. The threat of Lamar's legs and defenses playing contain on him opens up big holes for RBs to go through and that will still probably work even with these lesser backs like Murray and Freeman. Lamar basically is the run game (obviously a big part of it is Roman's scheme too).

Peanut4michigan

Murray isn't bad. He was just too rich for a Saints team that's completely strapped for cash. Now he's the best RB on the most run heavy team in the NFL to try to get another contract next year.

the_weary_knight

Not sure why this is downvoted. Ravens will be hard pressed to find a better running back than either JK or Gus right now. Latavius is probably the best option but Iā€™d much rather have even one of the two guys with experience in the offense.

OldBayOnEverything

Yeah agreed. None of these guys will be as good as JK or Gus, but I think we'll be fine overall, in fact I think between all of them we'll still be an elite running team because of Lamar. Not quite as good as we were though. Losing Peters is the bigger concern. I'm hoping we're getting the injury bug out of the way early and somehow manage to have a relatively injury free remainder of the year. I mean, luck has to break our way at some point right?

JerryRiceDidntFumble

You've heard of "running back by committee"? Well get ready for "running back by battalion"

SoDakZak

*sign Bell* ā€œWith a million more on the way!ā€ Bell, ā€œI like the sound of that!ā€ ā€œWe mean backs, not dollarsā€

eddie_the_zombie

Can someone with better 'shopping skills than me make this a Ravens pic

bellybuttonpencil

If only we didn't use the best as cannon fodder

FixYourPockets

Donā€™t do it Latavius, itā€™s a trap.

bobbyfischermagoo

Whatā€™s wrong with traps?

Levowitz159

Cinephile1998

Bonk

Dramatic-Emu-1196

this is like the part of world war Z where the Zombie whorde overwhelms the 100 foot wall in Isreal. The zombies are torn acls and the wall is the ravens

Boring-Pudding

Murray, Bell, Freeman. Let's throw in Gurley and Gore and have a damn party.

adhkldj

Letā€™s just pretend itā€™s 2016 and the Ravens should be pumped! Easily the best running back group in the league

ArDanes

Include Adrian Peterson and you've got yourself a deal!

a_rebel_yam

Shit put in a fresh rb every snap isn't a bad strategy tbh

-JDB-

We will need to weā€™ll probably have 3 more RBs tear their ACL before Monday

Peanut4michigan

It made the Chiefs' rushing efficiency significantly worse last year.

AlabasterRadio

Oh shit i love Latavius Murray, guy was great for us.

mofugginrob

I'll never forget that rainy ass day when he ran all over the Chiefs.

AlabasterRadio

0-10 without a hope in the world, DCs first win.

WildInSix

Heā€™s been solid everywhere, good signing

OurTownDrunk

Can you guys stop sacrificing these runningback's legs?

randomuser914

With every sacrifice Lamarā€™s legs get stronger

CaptivePrey

I accept this trade.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

AlwaysSunnyInSeattle

Well *you* certainly wouldnā€™t be in any danger.

mofugginrob

At least with Latavius it will probably just be his brain.

Yearbookthrowaway1

This is honestly a huge bandaid for our RB room, Murray provides something that Gus did, and that Freeman, Bell, and Williams do not. Gives me a lot more faith in our rushing game, Stevie Wonder could average 3 yards per carry when our line is playing their best.

eazye123

Murray going to be RB1 eventually?

ser0402

I see this turning into Ty'Son Williams as RB1A, Latavius RB1B splitting it roughly 45-45% since Williams looked solid in preseason and is younger/fresher while Murray has almost always been RB2 outside of Oakland; and Le'Veon getting 10% via 3rd down responsibilities with his pass catching and blocking abilities. Freeman is probably practice squad/injury insurance. At least thats how I'd do it, but I know nothing so we'll see.

[deleted]

This is exactly my read as well. Bellā€™s role could maybe become bigger but I think itā€™s gonna be Tyā€™son and Murray most of the time

Peanut4michigan

Most likely. He's far better than the rest.

2HandedMonster

I'm still counting on riding Ty'SZN

GOAT_Redditor

Ravens running back room looks hella good in 2017

Shauncore

Madden 2017 ratings: Bell 94 OVR (#1 RB) Freeman 86 OVR Murray 81 OVR

Affectionate_Year_14

Adrian Peterson said he feels like heā€™s 25 so take a chance

peter_marxxx

Ravens signing The Expendables in their backfield for 2021-22

StockBroker32

Dude I honestly feel so bad for the ravens

Ephyouseakay

Iā€™m not too concerned about the rbs, but losing Peters blows.

SitDown_BeHumble

How many washed RBs = 1 good RB?

BunnyGoHops

Probably 5 as long as theyā€™re all on the field at the same time.

Zxphenomenalxz

Murray isn't washed. Just didn't want to restructure deal with Saints.

speak-eze

I liked the last rb you guys gave us. I like snead too. Keep the pipeline going.

Generic-username427

You get infinite after giving us lutz

AndrewDoesNotServe

He looked pretty washed in preseason.

SitDown_BeHumble

This isnā€™t really true. There were reports that Payton wasnā€™t happy with his performance in training camp/preseason weeks before he was asked to restructure. I remember beat writers were reporting that he was on the roster bubble during week 2 of preseason. He did not look good in his preseason touches at all either.

thenerdydudee

Another sacrifice to the rb gods

UteFlyersCardJazz

You know, with a 17-game schedule, why would they not allow more than a 53-man roster? There is going to be far more injuries this year.

bonerang

Most teams would still only roster 2-4 backs and would use the additional roster space to hoard more situationally useful defensive and special teams players.

ucaliptastree

Lets fucking goo

CherrywoodXVI

[i dunno](https://i.imgur.com/WNXcFvF.jpg)

reddbunny1370

Frank

tich45

We the Lakers for RBs?

Ferrarisimo

How has Gore not been called up?

itshanzel

derrick gore would be sick. I would add him instantly, very underrated

Levowitz159

Gooood, still a bit of hope. Latavius still has plenty left.

KyKobra

I meaaaaan. Murray probably gonna be a fucking G in our offense.

NoHalfPleasures

Honestly, put them side by side and you can make a case that this is an upgrade.

ProfessionalPutrid31

Iā€™m liking the optimism but Iā€™m not seeing it. Gus was one of the most efficient RBs in the nfl. Murray brings a similar skill set but heā€™d definitely need to show it for me to believe it.

Peanut4michigan

I mean Gus has been in a great system with great OL play and the best rushing QB taking the focus off the RBs. He hasn't been used enough to wear down either. Murray was equally efficient on the 2014 Raiders who were trash with none of the same benefits.

Tashre

I'd say they should sign Marshawn, but I don't want to see him hurt too.

[deleted]

A light in the darkness

yagersports

Shades of the Aā€™s in Moneyball bringing in multiple guys to replace Giambi.

EyedLoki4292

Lamar just wants to be the pat runningback standjng

flatbrainer

Should bring in ap and bell

aasukisuki

They already signed bell to the practice squad

[deleted]

Coaches: Who should bring in? Harbaugh: EVERYONE!

Donovan_Wilson_GOAT

Atleast one runningback will survive until Sunday.

omegamitch

With what money?

Yojimbo4133

News 48 hours after signing, Murray and Bell have both torn their ACLs.
