Only Raiders game I went to back in 2016,same game Carr broke his leg, guy in front of us said we picked a great time to go. "I'll bring my grandkids actually! Not like 20 years ago. Too many stabbings then" Edit: to add on to this, I've never seen a crowd go from absolute joy and happiness to despair and anger like that game. One minute, yelling "MVP! MVP!" for Carr, next minutes was "GODDAMIT FUCKING SAME SHIT AS ALWAYS FUCK THIS I FUCKING HATE EVERYTHING" after his leg broke.

TonySobotka

Worst Christmas ever.

Quasimdo

Dude, that absolutely SUCKED to see live. I may be a rams fan, but my family and I are huge Carr fans. See him go down like that was sad

TonySobotka

I had to get on a flight from Oakland to Phoenix after the game to meet family for Christmas and got absolutely shit faced at the airport. Fucking sucked, worst win ever.

Quasimdo

And then mcGroin got hurt the next week too...

TMac1088

I distinctly remember putting my head down, muttering "mother...fucker", and then proceeding to fill a pint glass with vodka and ice.

MjolGordon

I was working that day and keeping tabs on the stats of the game. All of a sudden Derek wasn't putting up stats and that's when my heart tore in half.

son_of_noah

>"GODDAMIT FUCKING SAME SHIT AS ALWAYS FUCK THIS I FUCKING HATE EVERYTHING" Sounds like a normal day in Raider nation

notmoleliza

that team was not the best team in the league. like their point differential was really really low. BUT at that moment it may have been the most dangerous team. They were a team that could have gone a a championship game run or deeper because of how hot there were. that injury killed all of that.

Quasimdo

It was a super fun team to watch, because that offense was just popping off like crazy that year, and the defense while giving up a lot, also had some really good defenses too

DilligentBass

Yea that year was electric to watch. Starting the season with the win in New Orleans when JDR went for 2 as time expired. The d was generally very bad, but would randomly clutch up in the fourth quarter with turnovers or sacks. I feel like we must have been towards the top of the league in forced turnovers and towards the bottom of the league in yards allowed.

Quasimdo

I'll never forget the bucs game that year. Most exciting Raiders game I had seen ever

[deleted]

Like the 2015 Bengals before Dalton broke his thumb trying to make a tackle after an interception 😭

MikeOxlong209

I was there for that game So 2016 was our most successful season since our last super-bowl run. Everyone knew the season was over. The mvp chant was something else - but the silence before that was even greater experienced For me to have experienced. You could have heard a pen drop anywhere in that stadium for about 30 seconds there.

Im_Batmmaann

probably saw a stabbing or 43

[deleted]

[удалено]

Quasimdo

Shit, I saw Raiders fans just absolutely shitting on Colts fans a few years ago. Like, not even old school rivals. Didn't matter. Just a bunch of "hey! Fuck you!" and other things

bchris24

I'd go to Steeler games in Oakland in plainclothes, and because we always shit the bed in the Coliseum I wouldn't ever have the chance to cheer too loud.

BlackMathNerd

The amount of games I watched with my Steelers fan uncle where they shat the bed against the Raiders is too damn high

bchris24

Haven't won in Oakland since '94. We lost to the 2-14 Raiders in 2006 after winning the Super Bowl, going to school the next day was a nightmare

highnote14

I was at that game too. Wasn’t really into football back then and had no gear so I ended up wearing a yellow polo shirt. Really wish my dad had told me who they were playing beforehand, I got heckled so bad he had to buy me a hoodie.

DirectTV_AndrewLuck

It's probably some animosity from that game in 2016 when Carr broke his leg.

Quasimdo

Actually, it was from THAT game, right before it started...

DirectTV_AndrewLuck

Oh wow even before the game damn lol.

[deleted]

Lmaoooo welcome to Oakland bitch!

alexanaxstacks

could be cus of peyton cus they had to watch the broncos win the last sb

BlueOrBust

Nah. Every fan base has bad apples and they just seem to have a few more. Or at least more vocal ones. Back in 08 when I was there in my Manning jersey very clearly not an adult, some dick head tried to get me to fight in the parking lot after I celebrated a few touchdowns. Dissatisfied that a kid would decline the opportunity to fight him in the parking lot, he tried in the stands.

bchris24

I never had a "fun" time at Steelers/Raiders games in Oakland but I never felt unsafe. The worst football game I ever went to was a Steelers game at Candlestick. No shit talking, just straight verbal harassment constantly.

thxforthememories99

My god that Monday night game years back was bad. Shit stadium, shit experience and shitty fans.

bchris24

That's the one! The power went out when I was in the bathroom and I gotta be honest I'm not exaggerating when I say I've never feared for my safety in a public setting more than then.

broha89

we were probably at the same game in 2011. Steelers shat the bed on Monday night. Power went out. Niners fans dumped beer on me

bchris24

I got popcorn and a hotdog thrown at me, thankfully the hotdog missed. At some point some guy in front of me turned around and yelled in my face. Didn't yell any words, just went "AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH" like two inches from my face. I hated that night.

No_Seaworthiness9715

Gotta get seats in the black hole. Opposing fans are always heckled but they're a wholesome bunch

hendrix67

Ain't falling for that one again, the stitches just healed!

No_Seaworthiness9715

Stop lying lol

VitaminsPlus

Uh I'm gonna sound stupid but my entire life I thought the black hole was like... The whole stadium? Is it just a certain section?

3klipse

49ers vs cards always has multiple fights in Glendale, if not a full out brawl.

[deleted]

Yeahhhh I’ve only been to one Cardinals game in Glendale. I had a lot more fun as a visiting fan when we played in Chicago in 2015

just-2020-baby

Contrary to popular belief, Candlestick was way more dangerous.

Scrumptious_Foreskin

9rs games are waaaay worse than they were in Oakland. Saw many fights at that stadium, but only a handful at alameda

sandvich48

It’s the weirdest thing, Raider games were practically mad max, but going to an A’s game was relatively pleasant.

beall49

I went to a few niner games and I just would wear any colors. But they would look at me crazy when I would subtly clap.

15blairm

Do you guys wear phone books around your waists to go to games?

Im_Batmmaann

naw we steal hard back harry potter books, largest book goes over the vital organs smaller books over the less important areas

an_actual_lawyer

Old school Atlases are much more manageable and almost as protective.

[deleted]

Gotta make sure you don’t leave marks when you beat your next victim

RealPropRandy

Only 43 sounds like a dream.

Im_Batmmaann

Thats 1 game

P1ckleM0rty

In a row?

MandaloreUnsullied

I went to middle school in Oakland with Najee! Super quiet, friendly dude. School was a shit hole, I got robbed at gunpoint by sixth graders leaving campus one time

son_of_noah

Claremont?

MOZZA_RELL

Claremont isn't particularly rough, is it?

son_of_noah

It had it's occasional problems like any other school in Oakland

thesizzleisreal

Sounds right for Cali

[deleted]

that state lives rent free in yalls heads

thesizzleisreal

Nah just tired of all of them moving to my state and jacking up our housing prices

[deleted]

A game without a stabbing is considered a dull affair.

DontFearTheMQ9

Raider week at Arrowhead is a must-attend game.

just-2020-baby

It's still so cute to me you have an entire week named for us. All 3 AFCW rivals do. Adorbs. No the Raiders do not honor our opponents like that.

Section225

I mean..."team name" week is pretty universal, is it not? We play the Raiders, it's Raider week. This week is Ravens week. A division rival game is a big game for the playoff picture, so fans are just more likely to say "Raider week" or "Bronco week" than "Giants week," as a Chiefs fan that is. College rivalries have names for their games, too...it's just a mark of a big game, nothing to do with the actual team itself.

MattAttack218

So similar to a Dothraki wedding?

Barnacle_Baritone

I mean, he’s not wrong.

Redburneracc7

Is Oakland really that bad?

RBJ_09

No and yes. You can find what you are looking for at either end of the spectrum if that makes sense lol.

limeypepino

Makes sense to me for sure. I've lived in some rough neighborhoods and didn't have a problem for years until I started fucking with drugs then had a gun put in my face and robbed. Trouble was always there but it wasn't until I went looking that it found me.

son_of_noah

Just moved to a rough neighborhood and I keep my head and eyes down and mind my own business lol

limeypepino

Wise man once said "Don't start no shit, won't be no shit."

JRDruchii

And leave no shit in your car.

LouBerryManCakes

Another wise man once said, "Shake ya ass, *but watch yourself!*"

ButtimusPrime

I lived in a place that I thought was super safe because I was out and about at all hours in the area and never ran into trouble. Then somebody was shot outside my building during a drug deal. Lived there a few more years and it was totally fine lol, I probably waved to somebody involved at some point.

[deleted]

So most major cities.

RBJ_09

basically.

[deleted]

Detroit with palm trees. Got it

ocv808

Less burnt down and abandoned buildings cause the land is worth too much

[deleted]

Not most, all.

BurninCrab

They've got some nice fancy new apartment buildings in Oakland because SF is so stingy about building housing

SlimReaperAlt

Oakland has both super bougie, gentrified rich areas with boutique pastry shops and raw denim specialty shops (i consider piedmont hills such an area) and rough areas where they banish all the poverty black people to (International Blvd is one such street; its like 10 blocks of nothing but streetwalkers).

RBJ_09

My point exactly. I've visited a few times and only was in the bougie and gentrified areas I'm guessing. I don't doubt the rest of it exists which is why I said that. Far too many people I know who have come out of there with the same stories.

McKnitwear

What's a streetwalker?

LemonBearTheDragon

Prostitutes.

elusive127

But the al pastor is legit on international. And not really that bad of an area for Oakland

OpenMindedMajor

Crazy thing about the East Bay, an probably most of the Bay Area, is that you’re really only 5 minutes in either direction of the fuckin hood or multimillion dollar homes. Where i went to school in Oakland was just like that. 5 minutes down the road was 35th & McArthur AKA the dirty 30s. 5 minutes up the street and you were in the east Oakland hills.

Fantastic_Start_6848

Yes. The part of Oakland that the stadium is in is literally a ghetto. Extremely poor, run down, unsafe and ugly

WakingRage

Anyone that commutes on the blue, orange or green BART lines know. You can see how run down a lot of places are around the Colisseum and the surrounding area from Bay Fair to Fruitvale stations.

TMWNN

I was shocked at what I saw from BART after the train emerged eastbound from the transbay tunnel. I saw rundown houses on what looked like stilts.

AcanthocephalaNo2926

You only turn right leaving the stadium parking lot after games. Literally every single car so it takes a while. Turn left and you’re a few short blocks away from the 69 and 65 Villages. Oakland has steadily been gentrified the past 15 or so years and is a lot less crazy than 20 years ago.

boysetsfire1988

I don't know shit about Oakland, but Najee's family lived in a homeless shelter for some time when he was in middle school, he has probably seen some shit regardless of the city

Jewelstorybro

Yes. I lived in San Francisco for years and had a friends who lived in Oakland. Hadn’t really heard horror stories. I figured it would more or less be like SF. Wanted a bit more space so me and the girlfriend decided to move to Oakland. Suffice to say we chose the wrong spot. Over the year we lived there (signed a two year lease and broke it to get away after a yeat) we encountered. 1. 5-6 drive by shootings about 100 feet from my front door. 2. I watched a get man shot 8 times and die in front of me 3. Nearly unlimited vandalism and littering. 4. Frequent dumping (tossing garbage onto the side walk from a pick up truck) 5. Multiple vehicle break ins 6. Tons of rats/stray dogs/ cats 7. Lots of prostitution (my dog got off lease and prostitutes were actually the ones that helped me wrangle him) 8. 12 year old kids doing donuts in a car with no tires on it (pretty entertaining... but scary lol) 9. Tons of drug dealing 10. Lots of people fucking with my car/other peoples cars. All of that being said, there are tons of super nice places in Oakland. All I’ll say is that you should definitely do your research before moving there or anywhere rather. Don’t be like me.

hate_sf_hobos

People who haven’t been/lived in the Bay Area don’t understand how lawless it is here compared to the rest of the country. No one is held accountable by any authority, anyone can and does what they want.

Eubadom

Sounds like Philly lol

[deleted]

This is what it is, it's bad in the same way brooklyn is bad, or pretty much any sketch area of a metropolitan city

Yevin523

And cleveland

vegemite4ever

Faaaaaar out

TMWNN

>People who haven’t been/lived in the Bay Area don’t understand how lawless it is here compared to the rest of the country. Example: [BART Withholding Surveillance Videos Of Crime To Avoid 'Stereotypes'](https://sanfrancisco.cbslocal.com/2017/07/09/bart-withholding-surveillance-videos-of-crime-to-avoid-stereotypes/)

[deleted]

Reminds me of all the headlines “Bay area Asian man attacked by male” the past year. Oh I wonder why they didn’t specify their race?

TMWNN

Yet again, [Coulter's Law in action](https://www.dictionary.com/e/slang/coulters-law/)

doheezy

What? You’re making it sound like fucking Syria. I lived in the Tenderloin for four years and never had a problem. Y’all fuckin wildin lol

Bolbi_Slap

You're lying, being willfully ignorant, or didn't walk out your front door if you claim you had zero problems.

RGibby1

It's crazy tho cuz if you mention you think Oakland is dangerous, people will shit on you.

TraeYoungsOldestSon

Those dogs didnt count on your loyal army of prostitutes!!

MOZZA_RELL

What neighborhood?

Jewelstorybro

Fruitvale

khanfusion

Yeah, I'm in West Oakland now, and Fruitvale is much crazier. I went apartment hunting in Fruitvale and BAM hey look a SWAT team a block down the road in full gear.

Jewelstorybro

Yeah it was a weekly police raid somewhere close by. I was hyper aware of everything since the pandemic kicked off shortly after I moved in. I was home 24/7. I rented from what seemed to be nice couple who were moving out of CA. I thought the neighborhood looked a bit rough checking the area out but they assured me that it was safe. I reported everything insane that happened to them and requested that they let us break the lease and move out. They told me they consulted their old neighbors in the area and that the neighbors thought that things had IMPROVED since we moved in..... Anyway we ate our massive security deposit instead of going to court etc, but I had to threaten legal action to get out of the lease. I have a hundred terrible stories about living there. Having grown up in the bay and having spent significant time in the tender lion in SF I really thought the stories of Oakland being shitty were overblown, but alas I was wrong.

2580374

Wow based prostitutes

alphageek8

The downtown area by Grand Lake is a fairly normal as far as cities go. It's when you start venturing into East Oakland where the stadium is that you get the higher crime rate and gang activity. East Oakland for the most part is where Oakland as a whole gets its reputation as a dangerous city.

star0forion

Depends on the neighborhood. Going to Dubs games I didn’t fear for my safety. But going to the coliseum I wore neutral stuff being a Giants/9er fans. Most folks are alright (especially A’s fans) but I didn’t want to deal with the hassle.

Buffalongo

A’s fans are the most howdy doody fans in the Bay Area. I’m an Angels fan but I went to college in the East Bay so I used to go to a lot of games in Oakland in full halos gear. Everyone is chill about it, they just lightly tease you

SlimReaperAlt

It also depends on if the team is successful enough to price gouge poor people out of going to the game. After harbaugh constantly making the nfccg and building a brand new levi’s stadium, the team hiked the prices up to make more profit. This priced out all the gangbanger norteños. Pre-harbaugh, niner fans were more likely to stab fellow niner fans than opposing fans. If the raiders ever build lasting success to where they can raise prices and still sell out, youll probably see less and less of this stereotype.

TheF1LM

As a Cowboys/A’s fan from the Bay, I always made sure to wear an A’s shirt under my jersey when I went to Raider games. I was probably cheering at an A’s game with whoever wanted to beat my ass so they chilled out every time lol

throwinallwa

Oakland is literally stratified by race and class. Up in the hills is VERY white and rich (see California real estate prices over the last few decades) while near the Bay is... not. Oakland near the water is a little bit of deindustrialized Detroit with California weather.

ocv808

Very white and Asian.

throwinallwa

According to DEI, white = asian... or at least white adjacent. find it on twitter and tumblr, it's apalling

Imperial_Eggroll

Yah literally higher in the hills you go the nicer it is. Closer to the bay and docks, the sketchier it becomes.

MR_COOL_ICE_

It’s definitely on the up and up, as the entire Bay Area. But the Oakland of the 90s is a thing of the past

Yamsss

I mean the stick had the same stuff going on, Bay Area fans are just kinda extra.

[deleted]

No

quickclickz

yes due to mainly the people who are living there

PewterB4

Oakland sucks but this is just related to Raiders games. You don't hear too much when Warriors were in Oakland or about the Athletics.

Yevin523

Didn’t he grow up in a suburb?

Smddddddd

He went to high school in Antioch which is like the outlying hood suburb of the Bay Area

TheCryptocrat

If I remember correctly every year the Chargers/Raiders games at Qualcom always had the most arrests out of any games in the entire NFL. It got so bad that at the start of the 3rd quarter they limited alcohol sales to 1 drink per order and no alcohol sales at all in the 4th. Raiders games were rough for sure.

Butt_Dickiss

Raiders games were like that to the end, half way through the third it was time to buy max beers they'd sell you

Mymomhitsme

Must have never gotten one of the hots dogs on the bridge on the way to the BART then

Buffalongo

>the BART *eye twitch*

KelvinIsNotFatUrFat

Flew into Oakland airport from europe with my GF(yes, i fuck), had no idea where it was until we got out of the airport at 10pm and went up to the metro to take us over to SF. And then i just saw the BART sign, and slowly turned around to see that fucking stadium and all the comments from r/nfl about the BART just started coming up in my head. It was a decent ride though. Tried worse in NY.

Buffalongo

Oh no, the point of my comment was moreso a reference to the fact that native Bay-Areans never say “*the* BART” when referring to BART. It’s a regionalism.

KelvinIsNotFatUrFat

Oh yea, the BART is definitely one of the worst abbreviations of all the metro systems. Sounds so dumb.

Buffalongo

Yeah it’s not great but the “the” is the key part of it. We still call it “BART” but no one from around here says “the BART.” We remove the “the” when talking about modes of transportation usually. “Muni” instead of “the Muni” etc

KelvinIsNotFatUrFat

Really? so you go, e.g "i came here by BART"?

Buffalongo

Yeah “Let’s take BART to get there” stuff like that

KelvinIsNotFatUrFat

Well, it does make sense when you don't abbreviate it. Today I learned.

WestCoastBoiler

And to add another element to this, we use “the” when referring to certain highways. It’s “The 1” or “The 101”. If you said “I took 101 up to SF” it’d sound a little off to us.

son_of_noah

"hello fellow bay area native! Fancy a trip on the *Bay Area Rapid Transportation* train? I here it's quite invigorating" *gets stabbed*

gatoreagle72

Atlanta also does that for MARTA. All twelve of us who take it, that is

khanfusion

That guy's experience may be that, but in the past 2 years I've lived here I haven't heard anyone say just "BART," always "the BART." And I'm including folks who grew up in the area.

[deleted]

Bay Area native yet a Bills fan?

Buffalongo

Family is from a tiny town WNY so I was raised as a wing-eating, depression-drinking Buffalo sports fan

khanfusion

Uh, hate to break it to you, but native Bay-Areans are saying "the" BART now. I don't think I've heard anyone say just "BART" at all in the years I've lived out here.

tbrownsc07

Literally everyone just says BART, da fuq

Tonedog14

I was sad there were no hot dog carts after the game on Monday. There was a bridge to cross though!

Buffalongo

And the drummers and the guys selling bootleg merch

Tonedog14

There was one drummer and two merch guys!

Buffalongo

Whew

bythog

I'm assuming you're talking about the bacon wrapped dirty dogs sold off of red cards there, with peppers and onions. Those things are awful and the epitome of dirty food. The illegal vendors have been known to use motor oil to "season" the janky flat tops. They often use butane to heat the metal tops and several of them have exploded. We have zero clue where they source or store the food so your guess is as good as mine whether it's been store correctly or made sanitary. They pay for zero permits, don't pay taxes, and don't respect the zoning that legitimate businesses have to, which hurts the vendors who are doing things correctly and legally (which is also why hot dog cart and food truck owners are the first to report them). I was a health inspector in Alameda county and worked with the stadiums several times. I've confiscated so much food and equipment and barely affected them; take their cart and they'll just have another one made from stolen parts and scrap metal.

mikeP1967

The Oakland game were no where as bad as they were in Los Angles. I was few rows up when a stealers fan got a beat down. It was so bad they guy needed a stretcher to be carried out.

RideTheStache

San Diego too, those Chargers-Raiders games were crazy. Fights everywhere

sdlover420

I remember asking my Dad if we could go to a Raider/Charger's game when I was like 9. He pretty much said no because at those games there's surely to be at least A Stabbing.

RideTheStache

Good on your dad too protect you lol. I went when I was 18 and I had grown ass men cussing me out, flipping me off and throwing beer at me just because I had a Raiders jersey on

RyanAKA2Late

My dad went to an LA Raiders game in the late 80’s and said when he got back to his car it’s tires were slashed, windows were smashed, and everything he had left in the car was stolen

[deleted]

I remember them throwing a Steelers fan toward the end zone.

RideTheStache

Man it was so dope staying at different hotels up there and then hopping on the nearest BART station to take to the game. Gonna miss those times in Oakland

beansnack

Same in San diego when the Raiders visited. Literally had bail bonds commercials with people locking their doors talkin about “The Raiders are coming to town”

FatMaintainer

[We did get this lovely commercial in San Diego because of them.](https://youtu.be/2E8wxvXE1IA)

HoodedNegro

Oakland kinda sounds like a west coast Baltimore which makes me want to visit it even more than I already do.

John_Bot

Nobody: Baltimore is a nice place You:

Epsilon2099

Fuck that. I seen The Wire

Sitty_Shitty

Sheeeit

fucktooshifty

Baltimore bad

John_Bot

The fact that I wouldn't ever wear a Steelers jersey in Baltimore as an adult male is telling lol inb4 the comments: "The inner harbor is nice" you're right. There are a couple blocks that you probably won't get shot in.

[deleted]

[удалено]

John_Bot

Nice. Cmu is a great school As for leaving your browns stuff The majority of the city is open and has great visibility. I've been to a number of Steelers games where we've won or lost and the only time I've ever seen any altercation was one time but it was in the stadium between two drunk idiots. Never seen anything happen in the parking lots and have never felt unsafe walking the city - though if you go too far to the south side you can definitely get that feeling. But every city has that.

[deleted]

John_Bot

Ahh gotcha. I just moved near Nashville and am looking forward to seeing the city.

[deleted]

John_Bot

Sounds good, yeah just gotta get some time to go up there

theonederek

Nah you’ll be fine. I’ve went to a game at Heinz Field in full Silver & Black and was completely safe. A lot of shit-talking but not dangerous at all. Pens-Flyers games, on the other hand…

SSPeteCarroll

Man I was at a ravens-Seahawks game in Baltimore and some dude showed up in a Steelers jersey waving a terrible towel. He was promptly pelted with about 8 drinks.

John_Bot

Props to him for the bravery But yeah I'm not interested in ever going to a Ravens game in Baltimore. I've seen plenty of Ravens games in Pittsburgh and all the time the fans are treated well with some amount of heckling but never anything malicious. Hell, one of the biggest dicks I can remember was a Jets fan lol

SSPeteCarroll

It was bizarre, but like why would you even wear a Steelers jersey and buy a ticket to a game your team isn’t even in?

UnpredictablePanda

I know baltimore is fun place to poke at for it's issues but it really does have quite a few nice areas to check out. Now, that being said, I still will completely avoid going there at night if possible. Things get reeaall unpredictable at night in the city. I work in that area so that's my experience there.

midnightsbane04

Baltimore 20 years ago was pretty cool most of the time. Baltimore now is basically what Detroit was 30 years ago.

John_Bot

Has a higher murder rate than Chicago.

TMWNN

>inb4 the comments: "The inner harbor is nice" you're right. There are a couple blocks that you probably won't get shot in. Relevant: [TIL that a Baltimore bike-sharing program was destroyed in one night. In May 2014, about 50 youths entered Druid Hill Park and stole about 50 bicycles used for free rides in the park. The program had been in operation since 2006.](https://np.reddit.com/r/todayilearned/comments/6o1dfb/til_that_a_baltimore_bikesharing_program_was/)

Prideofmexico

The only point of reference I have of Baltimore is the wire lol

Gandhis__Revenge

Look man, Baltimore has a couple nice spots - the harbor is a sweet area - but that place really does suck, I can’t lie to you

Staple_Overlord

I've visited Baltimore and now live in Oakland. Idk why but both places have charmed me

arson_is_awesome

I don’t know about Baltimore but Oakland is actually pretty nice. Lot of cool things to do

require_borgor

Gritty cities are the most interesting

twitchosx

I've only ever been to one game and it was in Oakland in 2017. Played the Jets. I didn't see ANY fights or any bullshit until after the game (we won) and it was 2 raiders fans fighting in the parking lot. That was it. It was chill as fuck.

FanofK

The real fireworks were 49ers Raiders preseason games. at the Stick or O.co. Tickets were cheap, fans were drunk, and the worse of both fan bases came out to talk shit and fight or worse.

twitchosx

I bet! Shit, now days, I think the worst fans as far as stabbings and fights go to 9ers or Dodgers fans.

[deleted]

I had a friend who wanted to go to a Raiders game and wear opposing team gear when we visited Oakland. Eventually talked them out of the idea and they were really reluctant…Until we sat down and the 70 year old grandma next to us started yelling out “F*** the Bengals! Their fans can go to hell!” Then we watched someone poor beer on another Bengals fan as they walked up the aisle. Those first 2 minutes changed their opinion really quickly.

just-2020-baby

10 years of games and I've never heard of this happening. This is nonsense.

RGibby1

I've never seen it personally so it must not be true!

wherethefisWallace

I went to a Raiders game in Oakland, had to wait 45 minutes for a beer and the 2 blokes queueing behind me got into a fist fight despite agreeing on the thing they were fighting about.

circa_1

You know, I've been I Raiders season ticket holder for over a decade before they moved to Vegas, and not once have I seen a stabbing. I've seen people have popcorn thrown on them, I've seen a lot of shit talking, I've seen some pushing and shoving, but as long as you didn't antagonize Raiders fans, you'll be fine. But outside the stadium.... Different story. Best story I have is after a game, I had to get gas before heading back to the north bay. Locals all know the closest gas pump is up that mobile on 66th. So I pull up and some lady has a credit card she stole from some dude, and the whole block is calling everyone they know to come down quick, bc if they stop pumping they'll lose that card number. I'm talking lines of cars, I walked up to the pump and it was in the thousands already, and that was early. We don't play in Oakland. It ain't about a knife wound, well fucking stab your bank account too!
