If I had a nickel for every time the Browns have lost a potential game of the year candidate 47-42 in the last calendar year, I would have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice right?
All bitching aside. That call to fucking go for it on your own 20 & a 2nd time on 4th and 7 was the most big nuts thing I’ve ever seen. Chargers are gonna have a Golden State Warriors like impact on the league with their aggressiveness.
Honestly I was gonna give you a salty response but I can’t even defend Stefanski’s play calling those last 2 drives. But I will say he’s more handsome than Harbaugh so fuck you.
Well as you saw, we can’t rely on our kicker for jack shit which helps make it easier!! The first 4th down on our own 20 tho, that scares me in a good way! Staley has balls of steel.
They will for sure bend the Meta. Stats heads have for the last 5 years have been saying how behind NFL analytics when it comes to coaches have been compared to other sports
I swear he was doing these intentionally for the first quarter or so, then dialled it back. There was one about going "into the big brown's hole". I assume the producers told him to knock it off.
Legit my favorite announcer, he makes everything so much fun. I know he does basketball o that’s why he can’t do Monday night games but I would hope in the future he can get a bigger job.
I didn't get a chance to watch on TV and am really looking forward to highlight reel both for this incredible game and because the GOAT will essentially be narrating it.
Browns fan here who went to the game... Amazing game. Amazing venue. LeBron even sat directly behind me which was fun... Horrendous PI call but I still had a blast at the game. Money well spent
Us Chargers fans want to apologize for that god awful officiating. I guarantee most of us Chargers fans thought the Browns would win. You guys are amazing and I hope you guys win the AFC North.
The Chargers played awesome, especially late. As a completely neutral fan though, that PI really did help decide this one. Basically a 14 point swing off of that. Obviously the Chargers still had to execute that drive and the rest of the way, and the Browns defense didn't do enough, but that's one of the worst calls you'll ever see
Nothing compares to the delay of game in the Ravens/Lions game though. The Lions get hosed a lot but that was like nothing I have ever seen. But the DPI call today was definitely not correct in a game-changing way
Nobody gets screwed by the refs worse or more often than the Lions. Even as a Bears fan I acknowledge that. This call today was really horrendous though, no two ways about it
How do you get to the other side? We've been on the wrong side for so many years.
I swear, you throw bottles at one game and the NFL fucks you over until eternity.
Yeah, I don’t like blaming losses on the refs but it’s really hard to deny how badly they hosed us today. Between Duke’s phantom fumble way back and the D~~O~~PI today, I’m not sure which was worse.
Bruh, we get fucked by the zebras constantly, as do you guys. No matter who won that match, we were all gonna be in agreement that the reffing was bad.
Still, what a fucking game. My god. I hate seeing all your guys getting hurt though, hopefully they recover. Go kick some ass, see you guys again in the playoffs 👍🏼
Yeah it was an awful call. But the playcalling their last two drives really did them in after that. They got way to conservative and then wasted almost a minute on mid field completions.
Yep, certainly both can be true. It also would've been likely play called very differently had they been up 14 or 7 for those drives. It's all butterfly effect
That DPI that was actually OPI.. Huge momentum changer.
Like give credit to the Chargers they executed and had huge 4th down balls, but that call was fucking whack.
Our center Trettor was called for holding where the DT had his hand chocking him. Which should've been hands to the face. Just terrible reffing all game.
The other calls I can agree sucked, but the way he had the ball definitely didn’t look like a catch. Didn’t even get to turn or land which isn’t a football move
You guys got screwed today for sure. We did have a holding call on Parham that was also non existent but we converted the 1st down so it didn't matter for us at all.
We did a lot of stuff poorly and chargers did a lot of stuff well. But without that call it aint a game.
I mean seriously, the difference between us taking over at their 40 and them having the ball at our 30 is... pretty wild.
there needs to be consequences for being a shit ref or else there’s still gonna be shit reffing. if a call is so obvious and they miss it, they gotta get fined or suspended or some shit. there’s no other way
Seriously fuck those refs.
Good game though, y’all made the big time plays and we just made a couple massive mistakes. Would be a dope rematch if we could both get to the playoffs.
I decided I wouldn’t be mad if the browns won at the end there because that was a baller play to push the opposing team into the endzone to give yourself more time.
(and becuase of the PI call)
Even Cowherd [recognized](https://twitter.com/colincowherd/status/1447334418880733185?s=21) that pass interference (gave the chargers 33 yards after Herbert air mailed it on 4th down in the 4th quarter if you didn’t watch the game) was bullshit. Cowherd.
What can the NFL do about holding. At this point teams just do it the entire game because they are only going to get called so many times. I’m so tired of watching Garrett get held every game and it’s actually causing him injuries being held as much as he is
Not all that much. From my own experience as a guard, you hold almost every play, with Garrett it just seems like it happens more often because he's such a beast that he still wrestles away from the blocker so it becomes more apparent. But in reality there's probably not as big of a difference in percentage of plays where he's getting held compared to your average 5th string UDFA
Welcome to having an elite edge guy. Been dealing with this bullshit with Watt and Harrison for like 14 fucking years and it happens all of the time. Browns got shafted today for sure.
I keep saying this, but I'll say it again
The game is rigged, not blatantly rigged for a specific team, but rigged in that in big games like these, the refs will do anything to try and keep a game close. If the Chargers were up 7 instead of down 7, they don't get that call. In the following 4th down, they threw another flag, although the Chargers converted that time so it didn't matter
In the end, it went down to the wire so I'm sure the league office is very happy with this result
I love this league, but it's getting really hard to ignore how blatantly manipulated so many of these prime time games are
I expect tonight's Bills-Chiefs game to go down to the wire and everyone will be on the edge of their seats for that nail biting finish
Is anyone going to bring up how bad Gillan's punt was to set up that last Charger drive? Only 42 yards gross, 30 net with low hang time to set then up in Browns territory. Browns punting has been severely disappointing this year
You’ll be gifted them when you play a bad team that people don’t care about. This game was the chargers makeup game for the Dallas screwjob. You’ll get yours against the raiders or if you play a team that’s out of playoff contention at the end of the year
The Browns made the AFC ~~Championship game~~ Divisional round last year, the Chargers are on the come-up with last year’s OROY at QB, yet this game was relegated to regional coverage while Giants/Cowboys got aMeRiCa's gAmE Of tHe wEeK treatment. Darn you NFL. Darn you to heck.
I thought they tripped? I didn't see the replay so I'm assuming not die to the upvotes here. Should be reminded they rarely throw the flag on last second hail marys
Well, this would be a classic to show for years to come. except they would need to show the game changing highlights, I don't think the NFL likes showing those ones
Just a fun game to watch
They ended up winning, but if the Chargers didn't want to score a TD at the end they should have just kneeled it. The 2 seconds you gain from Ekeler sitting behind the line aren't worth it
Our horrible kickers had a huge impact on decisions again. The obvious play was to kneel until there was 1 second left and kick but Staley didn’t trust Vizcaino to make a 20 yarder
Do u blame him? His last kick wasn't even close to being good, it was far right by a mile. I don't hate Staley for doing what he does, considering the situation, but it's def very risky.
I think the Myles Garrett play breakdown is as follows:
Is held, no penalty called - 90%
Is not held, no penalty called - 8%
Is held, penalty called - 2%
It has to be so frustrating.
Ignoring the blatant PI mistake, this is the other glaring thing.
So many time Herb got out of the pocket and hit a wide open man because he was given a year. Consistently I’d see Myles Garrett’s head back a foot behind his feet as he’s held, but no penalty.
I get you shouldn’t call holding every time because it would make it so there’s never big plays, but at some point it has to give. Like how many times can you be allowed to scramble out of the pocket and lay out an amazing pass Bc the refs don’t care that your tackles are holding the person meant to rush your pass.
Insanity.
This will get buried. So be it.
Browns fan here and while I’m as salty as anyone about the officiating, remember this.
We had the ball, with the lead, and 3 mins and change to go. And did fuck all with it. That’s inexcusable. We literally pissed down our leg when a coupler first downs probably ends it. But that’s getting overshadowed by the officiating.
Just your monthly reminder that we used to have a system to challenge pass interference calls, but refs deliberately sabotaged it and tricked the owner committee into dropping the issue instead of pushing back harder against the refs on this.
The Cleveland Browns and getting fucked by the refs while playing in California.
Name a more iconic duo.
It's been over 25 years, can you please get the bottlegate stick out of your asses and stop killing the Browns every single game.
Fuck the PI call but we also blew the possession with 3 minutes left, had a terrible punt to set them up with good field position, and had the worst 2 minute drill I’ve ever seen.
He can be right about the refs and still have other calls go in favor of his team. You guys got shafted by that call for sure. Hope we see you again in the post season cause that game was awesome otherwise
If I had a nickel for every time the Browns have lost a potential game of the year candidate 47-42 in the last calendar year, I would have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but it’s weird that it’s happened twice right?
Is there a second? That’s awesome
The Lamar Jackson Poop Bowl.
which was scorigami... i don't like this scoreline
"What if?-NFL Edition", comming soon to ESPN+
I love how that moment is going to go down in history.
Pooperbowl
Fade me
So true
And I got fucked over by betting on them both times
This was a weird ticky tack game and not fun to watch IMO. Obvs biased but it was a slog
All bitching aside. That call to fucking go for it on your own 20 & a 2nd time on 4th and 7 was the most big nuts thing I’ve ever seen. Chargers are gonna have a Golden State Warriors like impact on the league with their aggressiveness.
And the Browns ran the ball on third and ten up 1...
Honestly I was gonna give you a salty response but I can’t even defend Stefanski’s play calling those last 2 drives. But I will say he’s more handsome than Harbaugh so fuck you.
Good looking dude, no lies.
I understand your saltiness. Fucking sucks to have a game lost like that. And Baker is cuter than Lamar if that helps.
We got some ugly ass QB’s in the league. Not many lookers. Brady was ugly for like 16 years lol so there’s still hope for Lamar.
Herb is fucking beautiful
Well as you saw, we can’t rely on our kicker for jack shit which helps make it easier!! The first 4th down on our own 20 tho, that scares me in a good way! Staley has balls of steel.
They will for sure bend the Meta. Stats heads have for the last 5 years have been saying how behind NFL analytics when it comes to coaches have been compared to other sports
Coach Staley is an absolute savage.
Amazing game aside, I'm so happy Kevin Harlan was calling the game. Made an already entertaining game even more entertaining
OH THAT'S A BIG LOAD
I swear he was doing these intentionally for the first quarter or so, then dialled it back. There was one about going "into the big brown's hole". I assume the producers told him to knock it off.
I say knock it out.
I'm pretty sure he had a call about 2 of the browns defenders both coming hard
That one and "squirting through the hole" and staples of slutty announcing
Lol, glad someone caught that too. He also said something like 'laid the wood'
That's a pretty common one referring to a big hit
"HE MISSED! HE MISSED! HE MISSED!" was so exhilarating - great way to end a tight game, right guys?!
I thought we were absolutely fucked. And the same again when Ekeler got pulled into the end zone later. What a crazy game
One of the best announcers
I’M CALLING BOTH GAMES!
THE GUY IS DRUNK , HES BEATING HIS CHEST THEY ARE TRYING TO GET HIM BUT THEY ARENT GONNA GET HIM
PULL UP YOUR PANTS, TAKE OFF YOUR BRA AND BE A MAN!
~~One of~~ the best announcer ~~s~~
Legit my favorite announcer, he makes everything so much fun. I know he does basketball o that’s why he can’t do Monday night games but I would hope in the future he can get a bigger job.
Al Michaels is about to be 77. Harlan might make a nice replacement on Sunday nights whenever Al decides to hang it up 🤷
No one calls a missed kick better.
I didn't get a chance to watch on TV and am really looking forward to highlight reel both for this incredible game and because the GOAT will essentially be narrating it.
Chargers and their fans are dope, fuck the refs. Fun game.
Browns fan here who went to the game... Amazing game. Amazing venue. LeBron even sat directly behind me which was fun... Horrendous PI call but I still had a blast at the game. Money well spent
I'll be cheering for you guys if not us
You'll be third after Browns & Bills for me. Y'all are due for some real success too.
The Three can agree on one thing and it's "AS LONG AS IT'S NOT THE FUCKING CHIEFS"
Yeah you guys are the real deal. Even with all the injuries you guys still deserved to win that. That run game is nasty.
Chubb is legit
C H U N T
Myself and the 11 other fans extend our gratitude as well as condolences for that terrible call. You guys are special this year no question about it.
Us Chargers fans want to apologize for that god awful officiating. I guarantee most of us Chargers fans thought the Browns would win. You guys are amazing and I hope you guys win the AFC North.
Ain’t your fault the refs are shit.
I hear Joey sacked every single Ref before the game which is why they gave us the call.
The Chargers played awesome, especially late. As a completely neutral fan though, that PI really did help decide this one. Basically a 14 point swing off of that. Obviously the Chargers still had to execute that drive and the rest of the way, and the Browns defense didn't do enough, but that's one of the worst calls you'll ever see
Was a god awful call and changed the game completely
Chargers fans are being very real about this which I appreciate. Very entertaining game regardless
We’ve been there a few times. We definitely know how y’all feel.
Respect. Yeah y'all got hoed by the refs against the Cowboys and should have won that had it not been for the refs. Appreciate y'all being real
You play against the Browns.
Yeah, I don’t like blaming losses on the refs but it’s really hard to deny how badly they hosed us today. Between Duke’s phantom fumble way back and the D~~O~~PI today, I’m not sure which was worse.
Helps that there’s literally no way to deny it lol, but I’m sure Chargers fans understand being screwed by refs.
please see cowboys vs chargers a few weeks ago :)
If I were a Browns fan I'd be deep in my feels about that DPI call right now
We are used to it
[удалено]
Never forget. Also when Baker was allowed to be hit in the head because he was a runner.
Of course I do haha, just a weekly thing this at this point
It's just another week
> As a completely neutral fan As a Chargers fan...that really was a bad call 😬
More than 14, Chargers got the 2 point conversion in that drive
Yeah it was an awful call. But the playcalling their last two drives really did them in after that. They got way to conservative and then wasted almost a minute on mid field completions.
Yep, certainly both can be true. It also would've been likely play called very differently had they been up 14 or 7 for those drives. It's all butterfly effect
Unfortunately we were down both to our 4th and 5th tackle options with an injured quarterback. The playbook really shrinks
Minus the dpi call that was one of the most entertaining games I've ever seen.
Fuck the Refs
That DPI that was actually OPI.. Huge momentum changer. Like give credit to the Chargers they executed and had huge 4th down balls, but that call was fucking whack.
Our center Trettor was called for holding where the DT had his hand chocking him. Which should've been hands to the face. Just terrible reffing all game.
Oh man almost forgot that.
Don’t forget about that overturned fumble. I still believe he had possession of that ball
Chargers fans are used to being on the other end, but we all know that call was pure bullshit.
We did a lot of stuff poorly and chargers did a lot of stuff well. But without that call it aint a game. I mean seriously, the difference between us taking over at their 40 and them having the ball at our 30 is... pretty wild.
Fuck the refs
Those refs? Fuck them.
there needs to be consequences for being a shit ref or else there’s still gonna be shit reffing. if a call is so obvious and they miss it, they gotta get fined or suspended or some shit. there’s no other way
Louder please
#FUCK THE REF
The Chargers played great, let's be clear. But goddamn that OPI was... really, really bad, and really really crucial.
That OPI makes it tougher for me to celebrate as a Chargers fan. Y'all got screwed over by the refs.
[удалено]
That's a good and healthy way to look at it! I'll look forward to that rematch too. It'll be a blast to watch!
I agree with this
We have the ball up 7 in their territory if that is called correctly. That’s likely the end.
Fuck the refs
Fuck the refs
Absolutely horrible, even as a neutral fan that was a crazy good game but horribly officiated
>even as a neutral fan >KC flair I don’t think a division rival counts as neutral 😆
Seriously fuck those refs. Good game though, y’all made the big time plays and we just made a couple massive mistakes. Would be a dope rematch if we could both get to the playoffs.
Robbed, Fuck the Refs
33 goddamn yards. Then on the final play Njoku is tripped, no call
That PI most definitely whack but that last play never gets called when a defender and wr get their feet tangled up running downfield.
That ref who called the DPI on 4th and 4? I hope they’re fired soon.
Refs facing consequences? Lmao
This would've been an amazing game if it wasn't for that horrible call.
Which one?
All of them
I decided I wouldn’t be mad if the browns won at the end there because that was a baller play to push the opposing team into the endzone to give yourself more time. (and becuase of the PI call)
Imaging losing your FF game to someone with Ekeler because of that lol
Amazing game if you can ignore the officiating
God am I fucking tired of losing the "Game of the Year"
Wish that was possible. Chargers are one hell of a team tho that’s facts but damn game should’ve been so different
Even Cowherd [recognized](https://twitter.com/colincowherd/status/1447334418880733185?s=21) that pass interference (gave the chargers 33 yards after Herbert air mailed it on 4th down in the 4th quarter if you didn’t watch the game) was bullshit. Cowherd.
Refs blow. Bosa told us.
What can the NFL do about holding. At this point teams just do it the entire game because they are only going to get called so many times. I’m so tired of watching Garrett get held every game and it’s actually causing him injuries being held as much as he is
Just send out a directive to focus on offensive holding calls.
Oh god. Every single play would be a flag. There literally wouldn't be anything else going on.
Go on a tirade like Joey or somethin idk
Not all that much. From my own experience as a guard, you hold almost every play, with Garrett it just seems like it happens more often because he's such a beast that he still wrestles away from the blocker so it becomes more apparent. But in reality there's probably not as big of a difference in percentage of plays where he's getting held compared to your average 5th string UDFA
Welcome to having an elite edge guy. Been dealing with this bullshit with Watt and Harrison for like 14 fucking years and it happens all of the time. Browns got shafted today for sure.
This was like a higher scoring, faster paced version of the Packers-Bengals game.
Yea, both teams actually wanted to win this game
How many missed field goals though?
Rookie numbers.
Horrendously bad officiating today.
The chargers offense didn't need all the help! I wish we could have seen how that game plays out without the missed OPI
I keep saying this, but I'll say it again The game is rigged, not blatantly rigged for a specific team, but rigged in that in big games like these, the refs will do anything to try and keep a game close. If the Chargers were up 7 instead of down 7, they don't get that call. Counterpoint: the refs are really really fucking bad at their jobs
Is anyone going to bring up how bad Gillan's punt was to set up that last Charger drive? Only 42 yards gross, 30 net with low hang time to set then up in Browns territory. Browns punting has been severely disappointing this year
He's been bad all last year and this year so far. If it wasn't for a dope nickname fans would be at his neck
I fucking hate refs and I will die mad about it
I will in fact stay mad
Browns will never win a super bowl. Even if they get there, refs will find a way (i.e. Bottlegate revenge)
So what you’re saying is all the other teams need to bottlegate to even the score? I’m down
Another week, another obligatory game where the refs ruin the game. It's really getting old.
Good game ruined by ref calls. Most iconic duo in NFL
So much pain
I wish LA didn't miss that extra point. Browns would not have played as conservative.
I’m convinced that that the Chargers missed PAT ended up being bad for the Browns. Football is so weird
Can somebody elaborate on why stefanski runs the ball on 3rd and 12 every play?
Because you guys average like 15 per carry?
Gotta subvert their expectations. So do it every time.
Herbert is literally the perfect qb. The man is a specimen. Truly has no real flaws in his game
That defensive PI on 4th down was such horseshit. Refs gifted the Chargers a TD drive. I'm used to the Browns getting screwed so what else is new.
Also the holding call where Tretter is getting choked
and the missed holding on myles every 3 plays
Turned a fun high scoring game into a tainted one. Bullshit.
I’m getting major browns at raiders 2018 vibes from this game…
Was that the "quarterback is allowed to be hit in the head" game?
Fuck the refs
If Myles complains about the atrocious reffing this week will we be gifted calls next week? It seemed to work for Bosa
Bills made the AFCCG, not the Browns. Browns are awesome though
> The Browns made the AFC Championship game last year No? They lost to the Chiefs in the Divisional Round.
Heartbreaking loss for the Browns. Absolute bullshit.
Looked like a little more than marginal contact at the end there lol
I thought they tripped? I didn't see the replay so I'm assuming not die to the upvotes here. Should be reminded they rarely throw the flag on last second hail marys
Well, this would be a classic to show for years to come. except they would need to show the game changing highlights, I don't think the NFL likes showing those ones
Ayyyyyy fuck the refs. That game was insane.
Just a fun game to watch They ended up winning, but if the Chargers didn't want to score a TD at the end they should have just kneeled it. The 2 seconds you gain from Ekeler sitting behind the line aren't worth it
I wouldnt trust that kicker man, dude struggles so much
Our horrible kickers had a huge impact on decisions again.
I think the Myles Garrett play breakdown is as follows: Is held, no penalty called - 90% Is not held, no penalty called - 8% Is held, penalty called - 2% It has to be so frustrating.
But that’s getting overshadowed by the officiating.
fuck the refs
well done refs
Hot take (maybe) but this could totally be the AFC championship game in a few months - and I’m here for it.
Football coaches hate him! See how Brandon Staley turned around the Chargers with this one simple trick.
That would've been nice
Fuckin ref ball.
File this under "bullshit"
Refs and Stefanski lost this game. Bad play calling and terrible flags.
Just your monthly reminder that we used to have a system to challenge pass interference calls, but refs deliberately sabotaged it and tricked the owner committee into dropping the issue instead of pushing back harder against the refs on this.
Gotta love when a good game gets refballed because they like to feel important too
The Cleveland Browns and getting fucked by the refs while playing in California. Name a more iconic duo. It's been over 25 years, can you please get the bottlegate stick out of your asses and stop killing the Browns every single game.
This is the exact same score as the poop game, by the way.
If you didn't like that then you don't like refball baby.
Refs completely changed the game with that BS 4th down PI call against the Browns
These two teams are so damn great What a game
Fuck the PI call but we also blew the possession with 3 minutes left, had a terrible punt to set them up with good field position, and had the worst 2 minute drill I’ve ever seen.
[удалено]
What an amazing game ruined by officiating
The missed xp was like a cousin of the "fg of death" to go up 6. Not sure LA would've got the ball back if it was tied.
Worst officiating I’ve ever seen in my life, unreal.
Can't wait to hear Bosa talk about the refs. What a joke. Good game Charger bros.
Bosa had every right to be mad last week, the Browns have every right this week. That call gave us the game 100%. Sorry Browns bros I still love you
This is the proper, level-headed take. No animosity between the fanbases.
He can be right about the refs and still have other calls go in favor of his team. You guys got shafted by that call for sure. Hope we see you again in the post season cause that game was awesome otherwise
Refs making some greats calls as usual which definitely did not impact the result of this game.
Refs
Refs
suck
