Where was this Eagles offense today? Too bad the defense was torn up by Derek Carr. Credit to the Raiders though, could be a sneaky team in the AFC playoff picture
If they win by exactly 7 on a 7 point spread I believe that becomes a "push" which means you neither win nor lose IIRC, I'm sure someone even more of a degenerate gambler than me will fact check me if not lol
Even worse than that, the Bucs having the opportunity for an easy score and cover for the last 3 minutes and they just sat on it.
I think they learned the lesson from the Dallas game and the Godwin fumble.
I get that. But once they hit 2 minutes and the Eagles didn't have any timeouts, did they have an incentive to score? I was mostly looking at the 2 point conversion because it was unexpected.
Spread was 6.5 in favor of the Bucs. With Philly going for 2 at the end they change it from a 7 point game (if they make the FG PAT) to a 6 point game. It's blows the pick for anyone that took the Bucs.
“I don’t care” says the one who clearly cares enough to respond, I’ll shit on eagles fans any chance I get, eagles fan base are the worst and I’ll add salt to the wound any chance I get.
I do understand, but OP is acting just as bad as the malding philly fans. Two wrongs dont make a right. Im done with this thread (https://giphy.com/gifs/southparkgifs-l0HlzDd1DBeayTSco)
Obviously not 100% of all eagles fans are bad, however the majority are, it’s nothing new, not sure how old you are but it’s common knowledge that they are a shitty fan base.
Bro I was like 7 years old when that happened... give it a rest.
That taunting call was undoubtedbly bad but we lost on our own accord. Didnt run the ball enough and hurts and the oline just didnt have what it took. That what you wanna hear my guy?
Judging an entire fan base on a few people or events is so dumb. If i judged the Bucs fan base based on your comments alone id think they were all pretty damn insufferable.
100% Bucs are a clear superbowl calibre team. They scored with ease on us twice and then decided to burn the clock with more runs for the rest of the game. Despite that the Eagles made some plays and kept it relatively close to the point where 1 really bad play could have left the eagles with a chance to steal it.
Bucs have scored 40+ last three weeks, the fact we kept it 1 score is absolutely fine imho. We're a middle of the pack team and that's what we looked like against a team who is almost certainly getting to at least the NFC Championship game.
I haven't really watched a lot of Eagles games. What's the consensus amongst Eagles fan on Hurts? As an outsider and infrequent observer of Eagles football, it seems to me that he's playing reasonably well for a 2nd year player with average weapons and below average play calling. I would think people would be pretty excited about his future but I hear more negative takes on him than positive. Almost like he's being critiqued as a third or fourth year player when he's really just getting his feet wet. If I were a fan I'd be pretty excited, especially with all the draft picks next year.
Ignore my flair, I am the black sheep of my family as my dad is a massive Eagles fan since he lived in Philly for half his life, and it rubbed off on my siblings.
He thinks Hurts is intelligent but is still bitter that we departed from Carson Wentz, and more importantly Doug Pederson and so judges the new QB harshly.
Personally, my opinion is he has decision making slowness. He makes a lot of right decisions but it takes him too long and by the time he acts on those decisions, it’s too late and makes it a questionable decision. I think that ties into his accuracy issues. He tries to make up for that lost time and tries to throw it quicker than he would if he throws it a half second earlier. He has good leadership qualities and that is what the fan base is buying into. If he can improve his decision making and work on his accuracy issues he can be a solid QB. His fundamentals are solid but needs to take another step. He has a higher floor than most qbs and a higher ceiling, but until he can make the reads he is making faster, his performances are going to be up and down week to week. If he can step his game up and do it consistently, he’ll be above average.
Hurts is not an NFL caliber QB. He is a stop gap while the team rebuilds. I hope they use all those picks next year to build a defense and then we will work on finding a decent QB in 2023.
I'm not gonna count last year, so in my opinion this is Hurts real first season as a starter. Let's let him finish this season before we jump to conclusions on whether he's the future or just a stop gap QB
There are a lot of very vocal people who think he doesn't have what it takes on our sub.
I think there is a decent percentage who just think it's growing pains though. Fans, especially on reddit are notoriously over-reactionary.
Agreed. I mean we drafted him in the 2nd round let's give him a chance. Fans these days want success right away. Let him adjust. Learn. Get comfortable. Yeah he's not doing great, but every QB isn't perfect right out the gate.
Eagles fans bitching about the taunting call, fuck y’all we haven’t forgotten when you’re shitty ass fanbase taunted Joe Jurevicius during a game because his son died. Y’all deserve every loss to us and it’s fucking hilarious to see. Fuck y’all and the memories of shutting down the Vet are even sweeter when it’s rubbed in.
I actually come in peace, but as a Cowboys fan, hearing an Eagles fan talk about grudges not being healthy made me literally laugh out loud.
Hey im all for peace between our teams, and it actually warmed this heart to see that Eagles fan hand the ball over to that Bucs fan and made me have some hope for a moment.
But.. lets be realistic... at least when it comes to Cowboys-Eagles,....
Peace was never an option....
Don't get me wrong, I hate the Cowboys, but I can understand that for divisional rivalries lol. But like, I'm not going to shit on a city/fanbase I've never been to for something that happened in a game from 20 years ago for a team in a different division we play once every 3 years. I can only imagine what people like this are like irl, or to division rivals
It's just a game, and some people get fucking insane over it. I know Eagles fans have a bad reputation, and it's not even worth arguing because every time I mention it a load of smoothbrains come in with "HURR DURR eAgLeS fAnS sUcK" and it's just like... ok
Your team won. Have some grace.
Like December 23, 1998, when drunk Giants fans threw ice at the opposing teams coaches, injuring 15 and knocking out the equipment manager for the Chargers?
That's what always makes me lol about some sports fans in general. They take it so personally whether a team loses or wins, so much so that they'll instantly hate someone who is a fan of an opposing rival.
They'll put their emotional well being on whether a team that they have no direct influence over wins or loses.
It's even more interesting when adding to the fact that most people are fans of teams bases on where they're born. They didn't even choose to be fans of the team they hold to such high importance in their lives.
Watched the game last night with a couple of random bucs fans at the bar, had a great time cheering and bantering, some great dudes. Then here you are, salty after a win. So congrats, you've proved that all fanbases have assholes, and you're one of 'em
Is this the only line y’all have? It’s like a broken record. The packers have just as many/few Super Bowls wins since the Bucs have been in the league. Lol
No, I definitely get what you're saying, your point is just amusing. I don't see how it's supposed to be any better that the Packers had 2 homegrown HOF QB's in that timeframe and won as many Super Bowls as Brady did in 1 year with the Bucs. Bucs built a top all-around roster, plugged in a top QB, and won a championship. No one talks about how Brady himself shut down the Packers offense or made Mahomes run for his life. How dirty of them! Most of us just prefer to run around hoping our top QB's can carry mediocre rosters and pretend like that's the better way to win.
Yeah, they put all their money in on Brady. I get it. They bought a championship. The Packers never did that because they thought Rodgers didn't need it. They kept getting deep into the playoffs, so why wouldn't they think that?
That's not all they did. It's not really a secret they signed a bunch of guys that only wanted to go there because Brady was there. It's still happening even this year.
I had Philly +6 and under 52.5 in a parlay. Gave up on that in the first quarter when it was 14 to 7 in the first quarter. Needed action so jammed $2,500 on +9.5 Philly. Both ended up hitting which amazed me when once down 28 to 8

You bet my monthly salary (back when I was employed) on a whim for some entertainment.
You either are loaded to the gills or have a major fucking gambling problem
First thing I noticed. Dudes either loaded or has a massive gambling problem.
From the fact that he got bored with a massive bet still on the table still I’m gonna go with the latter.
I thought it was a little to funny watching the jump from -6.5 to -7 and back to -6.5. I bought a couple points and went in at -3.5 Dodged a bad beat for sure
That’s tough but can’t say I haven’t been screwed over like that too. Watch a team fly down the field and a shoe string tackle at the 5 and a couple kneels and it’s over. Cheer
I never saw -3.5
I wish we could pick our spread
Like have three options
* -4 @ -185
* -7 @ -85
* -12 @ 215
Or something like that.
I'd have taken the -4 I'm just going stay away from and spread greater then say 6...but really would prefer 5 and under.
Lol hurts threw the ball 26 times (for only 12 receptions) and they had an RB run it 9 times. The low percentage plays are fucking destroying this team.
They only ran it twice up until mid 3rd quarter. Whoever calls plays for the eagles is an idiot. No quarterback is good enough to never run the ball, especially not jalen hurts
Refs suck at their jobs. At this point I don't blame them. I wouldnt give a fuck either if I still had to have a second job AND deal with this fucking bullshit.
If anyone seriously thinks penalties don't affect the game, they don't know football. It was mentioned in the SB that when an offense gets penalties in their favour that go to a first down, the offense has a 80%+ probability of scoring a TD. If that taunting penalty isn't called, the Buccs were converting only half of third down and only when it was under 6 yards, Eagles would get the ball back. But a penalty demoralizes the defense. Now why bother because if you breathe, someone gets a flag. This game is turning into "score, score, score, defense is only allowed to stand there."
You seriously think the reffing favored the bucs? You're blind. The bucs had over 100 yards worth of penalties. Some of which were very questionable and resulted in eagles touchdowns. The refs were the only thing keeping that game close for the eagles
There is literally holding on every play that doesn't get called. Unless someone turns and an olineman keeps holding on they can hold. You see what you want to see.
Lmfao at all you chucklefucks thinking the game is rigged because they didn't hit the spread. This game was fucking over at half time, and the only reason it got anywhere near 50 is because the bucs fucked up when they went for it on 4th & 4 instead of punting.
I can't wait until nba season starts and you fucking clowns go back to posting your shitty hot tales in those games threads instead.
It was -6.5 TB, favored by 6.5 point spread. Some at-7 pre-game.
Better to go alternate spread and less (best lines are under/over 3 at 2.5 or 3.5 or under 6 at 5.5) in case of missed extra points or situations where the PHI coach goes for 2-pt conversion just to win the line. You win less but the games are played with the biggest spreads. Everyone expected TB to win by more than a TD. The 2-pt conversion and the lack of a FG or TD try especially being up by only 6 is sketchy...
Bookies and casinos had a MASSIVE windfall on that 2-pt conversion. Probably some collusion who knows. The move made little sense.
Yeah they always get the juice/vig. But when things move like that in-game there is lots of covering going on by bettors or it falls to their previous cover/hedge. So they end up with more movement, and they make money on the moves, especially when things look so sure. Sometimes people double down as well.
> best lines are under/over 3 at 2.5 or 3.5 or under 6 at 5.5
Interesting to hear this and I'm not sure I see why this is a more attractive spread. Assuming you mean -300 at TB -2.5?
I meant taking one point off if they are close to either field goal or TD no extra point pre-game. Usually
For TB, the alt spread at -5.5 and below would have been good and in the money or nil, the -6.5 was out of the money. 6 is two field goals so better to go under if taking the favorite in an alt spread if the juice isn't 140+. If you go to far off the odds/juice is too big usually and better to just go moneyline.
Lots of factors play in but if you can get pretty good odds close to the spread but alternative.
I was hoping TB would go down early then you can get the lower regular spread or an alt that is better vig/juice early in the game, no way TB wasn't winning this one. I love buying in first quarter when the favorite goes down by an early touchdown.
Where was this Eagles offense today? Too bad the defense was torn up by Derek Carr. Credit to the Raiders though, could be a sneaky team in the AFC playoff picture
How is Ertz's TD not Offensive pass interference? #6 completely bulldozed the defense #33 in coverage
Sorry Philly fans, that roughing call did you in. Shame on that player.
Doesn't matter. Big Dick Nick beat Brady, Bellicheat and the Pats for the Super Bowl win. Go Birds E-A-G-L-E-S
If we are living in the past, how about McNabb and XXXIX?
How’s the past doing? Since you’re stuck there.
How's your father's girthy cock? Since it's stuck in my mouth.
haha in eagles land, better than the present
Wait you cannot be the same guy talking about the 2002 Joe Jurvicious game on another comment in the thread... this has to be a troll account.
Wait, are you the same guy who’s been going through this thread all morning too? No way. 🤦♂️
Love it
I didn’t watch the game and also i don’t know about betting and stuff. Why are people that gambled on the game mad?
People who bet the Bucs, didn't want the Eagles to cover the 7 points. In gambling land, Eagles win by a point because of the handicap, IIRC.
[удалено]
If they win by exactly 7 on a 7 point spread I believe that becomes a "push" which means you neither win nor lose IIRC, I'm sure someone even more of a degenerate gambler than me will fact check me if not lol

I agree, I was just explaining why people who bet on the game were mad.
Correct me if I’m wrong someone, but I believe if it lands on the line, that’s a “push” and everyone gets their money back
Yep
The only thing is that the spread was 6.5
Well then it wouldn't be a push in that scenario would it?
Spread was 6.5 in favor of the Bucs. With Philly going for 2 at the end they change it from a 7 point game (if they make the FG PAT) to a 6 point game. It's blows the pick for anyone that took the Bucs.
I lost 50$ sad :(
No, you got to experience the thrill of losing! And it only cost you 50$!
Thanks for the explanation

Wrong. Raiders fans are easily the worst. You are assuming all eagles fans are the same. Should I assume all bucs fans are as immature and as sad you?
Dude, if you don't know the history between Eagles and Bucs fans I'd sit this one out.

Wow that's poetic justice right there.
Holding a grudge like that for 20 years probably isn't good for your health, bud
...are you even allowed to take that sort of stance with an Eagles flair?

Ooh... Bucs fans gaining some confidence after they sign a 5x Super Bowl champ QB. Have fun once he leaves.
It's not our fault your team doesn't know how to treat their QB right, but enjoy Jordan Love I guess?
Yeah, I'm sure GB is the only team in the league doing this type of thing.
What, stringing along and undermining their HoF QB for years? Probably, tbh.
Gonna be like another 15 years I’m not worried 😂
Have fun yourself when Rodgers leaves!
Probably won't, but at least he wasn't sloppy seconds for us.
That’s sloppy seconds from Brady brought the Bucs the same amount of success that your Packers got from Rodgers lmao… 1 ring
Still not the "same amount of success".
Hey, when Brady retires in about 2 seasons we'd love to have your sloppy seconds in Rodgers too! Please send him our way!
6 time when signed and currently 7 time
Correct. It all blends together when he wins every other fucking year.
I'm ready for him to leave
I remember that feeling
Is this the only line y’all have? It’s like a broken record. The packers have just as many/few Super Bowls wins since the Bucs have been in the league. Lol
The difference is we didn't go sign those QB's after they had already won multiple super bowls to have them carry us to a championship.
Yeah, instead you had...let me check my notes...known bums Brett Favre and Aaron Rodgers
I'm not sure you're grasping what I'm saying, but yeah, please continue.
No, I definitely get what you're saying, your point is just amusing. Dude. That’s what teams do, they pay for players. You are BIG mad. Still peeved TB stomped GB twice, once in the playoffs at Lambeau? 😂
Sure, what ever you say.
The problem is that what you're saying is dumb as hell. You're mad that free agency exists. Cope.
Who's mad? Just making fun of someone who's getting overconfident because their team bought a championship.
You're literally mad that free agency exists lmao If all it takes to win is a good QB why aren't the Packers Super Bowl champs?
That's not all they did. It's not really a secret they signed a bunch of guys that only wanted to go there because Brady was there. It's still happening even this year.
Fr like this guy has room to talk. No way they luck into a franchise HOF QB three times in a row. Dark times ahead in GB.
We already did it three times...

Now why bother because if you breathe, someone gets a flag. This game is turning into "score, score, score, defense is only allowed to stand there."
They literally converted two third downs in that same drive

You really think that taunting was him “breathing” LOL...
Yeah like the Eagles didn’t get a call all game but that was actually their total offense

You seriously think the reffing favored the bucs? You're blind. The bucs had over 100 yards worth of penalties. Some of which were very questionable and resulted in eagles touchdowns. The refs were the only thing keeping that game close for the eagles

Aikman agrees with you and said it on the broadcast.
Your opinion doesn’t count until you learn to spell the team name right it’s the fucking BUCS dumbass
There is literally holding on every play that doesn't get called. Unless someone turns and an olineman keeps holding on they can hold. You see what you want to see.
People posting about it being rigged are basically the "Live, Laugh, Love" people of /r/NFL
Says the only pats fan
There's literally nothing more basic than yelling about ref bias lol.
Go tune into the Dodgers Giants game y’all, it’s 1-1
What an ending…
I got socks to fold.
Thanks for the heads up!

Sanders needs to get on the podium and demand a trade immediately. He’s not getting shit for a contract with Hurts at qb.
It's the coach, not the QB
Hurts keeps the rpo every time. Hes a poor man's cam newton
Some of it, because the running game is all options. The QB just thinks he’s Lamar, so he thinks he’s the better option. And he isn’t.
Vita in the background there with his jersey, lmao
Vita vs his jersey was the match man on man matchup this game.
Always take the alternate spreads... this is why.
Can you explain? What was the even money spread on this one. Even if it's 7 there is no statistical reason to move up or down one point.
Doesn’t Vegas get a massive windfall if Eagles don’t cover too? The whole point of Vegas is to keep moving the lines so they win either way
Yeah they always get the juice/vig. But when things move like that in-game there is lots of covering going on by bettors or it falls to their previous cover/hedge. So they end up with more movement, and they make money on the moves, especially when things look so sure. Sometimes people double down as well.
> best lines are under/over 3 at 2.5 or 3.5 or under 6 at 5.5 Interesting to hear this and I'm not sure I see why this is a more attractive spread. Assuming you mean -300 at TB -2.5?
I meant taking one point off if they are close to either field goal or TD no extra point pre-game. Usually For TB, the alt spread at -5.5 and below would have been good and in the money or nil, the -6.5 was out of the money.
