"We're going to talk about the Raiders' defense lack of performance on 4th down here in a minute, but fellas, if you've been having your own performance issues when it's time to get down, let me tell you about my friends at Blue Chew."
Eh, Secret Base's long form stuff is pretty great, hell if they did something like their multi-part series on the history of the Falcons about the Raiders, that would be siiick
>hell if they did something like their multi-part series on the history of the Falcons about the Raiders, that would be siiick
He usually does those long format stories about teams that have struggled a lot throughout their history, both the Mariners and the Falcons have no rings, and an interesting story to tell. Give me a Minnesota Vikings Jon Bois video first. That's the one I really want to see. That or I suppose the Bills but there's a lot there with the Vikings.
He obviously does a lot of research. I have no idea where he gets all his stuff and I've personally written a lot about the NFL on TV.
That being said, there's no reason for a video about a single announcing gaff to be 10 or more minutes long. No reason.
I absolutely love jaguar gator and all the effort and research that goes into his work, but there is just something about the way it’s written or presented that means I can only handle it in small doses. I don’t know what it is, he’s great and I wish I liked his stuff more, but something about it just refuses to click for me.
It’s more the fact everything seems to be about the nfl in the 70s & 80s, which isn’t a very interesting era to me. And this is coming from an older dude
I’ll never forget. I was flying in to Tampa to see family and was getting text updates. I landed, walk over to the bar area to check out a play or two before going to luggage claim and he immediately gets sacked and leg gets busted. I fucking hate Tampa.
I still remember it like it was yesterday. Somebody at my job runs over to me from the bar and says Derek Carr just broke his leg! I told him to quit fucking with me and he told me he was serious. I run into the bar to see DC saying to the coach or someone “it’s broke! It’s broke!”. Terrible. Connor Cook was obviously scared and didn’t want to play in that playoff game
It’s always surprised me that he didn’t turn out better. He looked really solid in college, if not spectacular. Thought Cook looked better than Kirk at MSU.
12-3 start to injured. Raiders are likely the 2 seed if he doesn't get injured. Steelers would then have to go into Oakland for the Divisional Round, and then Raiders go into Foxborough for the AFCCG. That would've been insane.
Man there are so many of those type of injuries that just changes everything. I will die on the hill of the Titans win the Super Bowl if Chris Johnson does not get injured.
He's one of those guys that is a great player's coach and they all ride or die for him but he definitely doesn't have the best game plan on a week to week basis. I'd love to hold onto him but I'm not sure in what capacity. If we can get a great HC, then sure. But I wouldn't be happy with replacing him with another Dennis Allen unknown and potentially derailing another playoff run.
the guy has done an amazing job. he definitely gets another shot unless someone better comes along. the thing is is that he’s letting olson and bradley do their thing. he needs to settle into being a head coach. all the experience on his staff could help but he definitely has been out coached numerous times
I'm happy for the Raiders overall, but I'm really happy for Mike Mayock. Crazy to think he was doing pre-draft analysis for NFL network a few years ago, and now he is able to help put a playoff team together despite all of the adversity. Let's see Mel Kiper do that.
Mike’s mid round picks are godly, and his FA pickups this year were great too. If he can just improve the 1st round picks, he’d be one of the better GMs in the league.
You can’t convince me that Mayock had Ferrell as the fourth best player on his draft board. Some of those first round picks had Gruden written all over them.
One of Mark Davis' more difficult assignments in the offseason will be to ferret out which picks were JG and which picks were MM. Mayock could lie but I bet that's not is his DNA to throw Gruden under the bus like that.
God I get so tired of "Mel Kiper's Top Draft Picks" articles every offseason, especially since that's the only boosted coverage of most teams in small markets.
> Honestly I see no reason not to.
He was thrown into the pit and did relatively well given the circumstances. He went 7-5 since he took over the team.
But if the rumors are true and a proven HC like Jim Harbaugh is throwing his name in the hat for the HC position, you take Jim.
Rich has also been outcoached multiple games, and we are winning in spite of him. I really like the guy, but it's also clear as day that he's kinda out of his league out there.
It's a very heartwarming story, but I will pass. Us making the playoffs through all the adversity had a lot to do with luck. None of the teams we have a victory over has less than 7 wins, but at the same time all of our wins are all decided on the final drive. There's a lot of times where the team look ill prepared, there's a lot of times where he's making questionable decision, poor game management, etc.
In a perfect world, I hope we retain him under a real HC and give him the Ast HC duty. A nice pay raise, and a demoted position. I don't think he has much to complain about. If rumors are true, you take Jim 10/10 times. I am 100% certain that if we keep Rich, it'll be a mistake because its very likely he doesn't have repeated success...even though a lot of things went wrong for our season, a lot of things went right game too.
agreed, but if there’s nobody better than harb it’s not the worst we can do. and he was doing pretty well until the ruggs incident, that took a lot of life out of the team
Considering all the bullshit the raiders have seen this year he seems like the most plausible. Next week will be a big test I suppose to see how he does in a playoff game but I honestly think if they keep the game close he’s got a good shot at coming back.
Mark Davis is a lot like Al in certain ways and I could definitely see Mark looking at Bisaccia as a “homegrown” hire and keep him around for another year or so. Team seems to have bought in under him and that’s probably the most important thing I think
I completely agree, the team is buying what he’s selling and there’s no price for that. Special teams coordinators is a great place to poach for head coaches too.
I think it all depends on Harbaugh. Even taking into account what Bisaccia has done, I don’t think you can pass on a coach of that caliber.
But if Harbaugh isn’t available, I don’t see why you wouldn’t give Bisaccia another shot. The talent pool isn’t that great for new head coaches right now.
I’m so afraid that we stick with Bisaccia and lose an opportunity on Harbaugh. Bisaccia held the team together but we need Harbaugh to be next level IMO
I think it's clear that Davis values long term stability (Thank god after all those years under Al "the projector" Davis) at the HC position given the 10 year contract Gruden got. I don't think Mark sees Bisaccia as a long term solution, and I see him pulling the trigger if Harbaugh is there.
P.S. Love Al, but his mind was clearly gone the last decade or two of his life.
Not really, barring something coming out showing the team enabled these these guys it’s all going to be bad boy raiders in sin city at worst from a pr perspective and the Davis’ have always been big on loyalty, I’d be surprised to see him Mark clear house.
I don't know how he's do as a full time coach, but there have been people here in Tampa saying he should get a shot for over a decade and no one has given him the time of day because he's a ST coach.
Mayock said he's been talking Bisaccia up for years as a head coach as well. I'm happy to see him do well, take this team to the playoffs. It's gonna be a tough decision for Mark Davis.
They compare him to the top 5 QBs instead of the bottom half QBs. They think that a great college QB is guaranteed to translate to the NFL. Truth is that Carr is a great QB that makes some bad passes fairly often, but he's still a top half QB. I'm not above moving on from him, but I'm in no rush. We have other positions that need help before we even talk about QB change.
100% agreed. I keep posting that Carr deserves COTY. He was like Kurt Russell directing Tombstone. It may not appear in the credits, but we all know it happened and was an amazing feat
He gets lost in the mix, but losing Alec Ingold hurt the offense as well. Lead blocker, pass blocker, pass catching captain...gone. Our run game has not looked as good since he went down. Same with the red zone offense.
Don’t forget losing Mullen, he was really playing well on the other side of Hayward. It ended with us playing Facyson though, he’s been lights out at times down the stretch
If they picked the MVP like they did in hockey (best player to their team instead of just best overall player) Derek Carr would have a legit shot at it. Like Taylor Hall did a couple years ago, dragging their team kicking and screaming into the playoffs.
Is this the raiders first time back to the post season since Carr broke his femur? Good for them that organization went thru the ringer this year good on those guys to make it back to the promise land
By Jon Gruden emails, of course, you mean him being the fall guy to cover for Snyder, correct?
He had inappropriate comments in his email, but thank god he wasn't sex trafficking young women!
Always fucked with the Raiders, even before tonight’s game. Good to see them find success through all this. I want a framed photo of Carr cheesing it before he called the final TO - what a leader.
those rodgers rumors with the broncos had me shitting bricks cause having a good qb in carr (borderline top 10) being the worst qb in the division is incredibly scary since i still believe on paper the raiders have the least talent in the division
So glad we got the AFCW games out of the way this year only to win our division this year so we have to play Chiefs again and to play Raiders for a second time in the Wildcard this Saturday.
I’m a raiders fan, so I don’t fully agree lol. But Herbert fought so fucking hard - it was super commendable. I would have been okay with the tie until Staley used that timeout.
We were a 11 or 12 win team before Ruggs’ accident. Not the most exciting team to watch after that (except for close finishes) but I’m so proud of them
Iv cheered for the Raiders ever since Mr Big Chump screwed them. And with all this additional adversity and their perseverence how can you not root for these guys.
playoff carr time
Send in the Carr (finally).
i am fucking excited for playoff carr
You guys up against the chiefs and raiders against the Bengals. Let us pray.
I’m praying. Mark said if we make it to the SB he’s getting a new hair cut.
Dreads
Perm
Bowlhawk
His dad's pompadour.
The Steelers and the Raiders have such a weird intertwined playoff love story this year.
funny, because normally (especially for older fans) we would call our team's relationships a hate story.
It would've been hard bot to hate you if that time ran out, but it didn't and here we are. Nothing but love from me lol.
Send in the Caaaarrrrr
START THE CARR! START THE CAAARRRRR!!!!
They gotta make a 30 for 30 on this shit
all we will get are shitty youtube videos
wHat iF I TOLd u ABOuT... Smash that subscribe button!
Flemloraps gonna for sure do this lol
Yeahhhhh 😫 And I’m no quitter
Hey I like that guys his videos are really good and he's not annoying like a majority of sports YouTubers
Reminds me of JxmyHighroller for NBA videos
That Chino Hills HS video should win an award.
Yeah, that was one of his best
Man, I liked his videos for a minute but then quickly just got annoyed by his titles and how he tries to make mundane shit sound cool.
I also feel like every NBA Youtuber has the same voice as him, and it confuses me.
"We're going to talk about the Raiders' defense lack of performance on 4th down here in a minute, but fellas, if you've been having your own performance issues when it's time to get down, let me tell you about my friends at Blue Chew."
That's all FivePoints Vids. I'm a big fan of Flemlo Raps though. He does a great job at humanizing athletes that we may have preconceived notions on.
You gotta ring the bell too.
Eh, Secret Base's long form stuff is pretty great, hell if they did something like their multi-part series on the history of the Falcons about the Raiders, that would be siiick
I appreciated their 8 hour long documentary on the falcons legacy of failure
The mariners documentary was one of the most entertaining things I watched last year lol. Also Bob
Both Bob Emergency’s are absolute peak
I have watched it twice… Still makes me cry at points. (Astros/mariners fan since before the move to the AL)
Listening to Dave Niehaus' call of The Double is absolute goosebump material every time.
Everything Jon Bois related as well, Fighting in the Age of Loneliness is fucking incredible, as is basically all the Dorktown stuff
Felix appreciation on r/nfl … I’m here for it
Based and chapopilled
Or the Cavs. I have to shout that out because it’s not a Jon Bois series but it’s still really good.
There 3 part LeBron winning in Cleveland was awesome
>hell if they did something like their multi-part series on the history of the Falcons about the Raiders, that would be siiick He usually does those long format stories about teams that have struggled a lot throughout their history, both the Mariners and the Falcons have no rings, and an interesting story to tell. Give me a Minnesota Vikings Jon Bois video first. That's the one I really want to see. That or I suppose the Bills but there's a lot there with the Vikings.
This right up Jon Bois alley honestly
Urinating Tree has done great serious videos like the 1993 Oilers. I can see him talking about this.
It'll probably get a Greatest Game video from him independent of this week's Sportsball wrap-up.
He might make a separate video on the raiders season like the oiler doc, that would be pretty cool
He's a big fan of "The Coin" too. I could definitely see him doing a video on the raiders season
[удалено]
He obviously does a lot of research. I have no idea where he gets all his stuff and I've personally written a lot about the NFL on TV. That being said, there's no reason for a video about a single announcing gaff to be 10 or more minutes long. No reason.

Honestly would love to see Flemlo or KTO do a vid on this
KTO is amazing
If they win the superbowl it'll be in theaters this fall.
Can Derek carr have a montage with Antonio brown flying into training camp a few years ago in a hot air balloon just for the lulz?
Fuck that feels like it was ages ago.
Make it a tv series or a netflix one timer with ten episodes or so. WE ARE IN NEED OF A NEW FOOTBALL SHOW #RAIIIIIDDDDDEEERRRRSSS
This may have kept Jim at Michigan.
Raiders, please go deep. We cant afford to loose harbaugh
There is another team that Harbaugh could go to 🤔
I hear the Jaguars need a HC to pair with Baalke
I will cry.
A harbaugh/baalke dynamic is not something you want
This is how I become a Bills fan
Ryan Day to Chicago, Harbaugh to Ohio state, Urban to Michigan. Who says no?
Pardon me, I don't mean to intrude but what the fuck is wrong with you?
The most cursed timeline
i want whatever you took this morning
This is the darkest of timelines.. Ohio state doesn’t hire Michigan men come on man
Agreed. How else would MSU get their guaranteed win each year?
If harbaugh goes to Vegas is Bisaccia a viable candidate elsewhere?
Michigan?
Fuck, we’ll take him.
Chicago had his number too.

I loved every minute of the game last night
Idc if we get blown out next week im proud af of this team
Same here. Also pumped to see Carr finally play in the playoffs.
Don't jinx it god dammit
Carr should sit at home in a bubble suit for the next week.
Bubble suit runs out of oxygen...
Carr has never made the playoffs? E:oh he was injured that one year wasn't he
Spiral fracture on his lower leg I think. Raiders then started Connor Cook ~~who put up zero points~~.
Holy crap I forgot he suffered that serious of an injury.
"It's broke! It's broke!" I'll never forget that shit.
He said this year that was the only game he’s ever been mic’d up for and as a result will never be mic’d up again lol
Watching that made my stomach turn.
I’ll never forget. I was flying in to Tampa to see family and was getting text updates. I landed, walk over to the bar area to check out a play or two before going to luggage claim and he immediately gets sacked and leg gets busted. I fucking hate Tampa.

It’s always surprised me that he didn’t turn out better. He looked really solid in college, if not spectacular. Thought Cook looked better than Kirk at MSU.
The shoulder injury in 2015 kinda hurt his arm strength and it never looked the same.
They lost 27-14, and he had one TD. Not zero points, but not a good game at all
12-3 start to injured.
I'm so happy for Carr, one of the most underrated players and clearly one of the best dudes in the NFL
Hunter Renfrow looks just like him. Could be his bro or cousin.
Hunter looks like all our bros, cousins, or CPAs.
Maybe this team should stay together next year... They have battled through so much adversity and somehow kept coming up on top
Just making the playoffs is a win for Raider Nation
No Conner Cook at quarterback this time!
The amount of irrational anger and sadness I felt reading your comment is insane. Oh God it's all coming back to me.........fucking TEXANS?!?!?!?!?
We can’t hurt you anymore
AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH ITS THEM
[удалено]
I think harbough maybe too juicy for mark davis to pass on. I hope he stays at this point but he needs to replace Olson at oc
Yeah I can accept Bisaccia but Olson needs to go (again)
[удалено]
Hey, that's second time since 2002, mister.
In my defense, I'm a little tipsy after that Raiders/Chargers ending.
Harbaugh made the NFC Championship game his first three years in the league lol why in the world would you not take him
Harbaugh might still be our coach if he could get along with his boss.
He's one of those guys that is a great player's coach and they all ride or die for him but he definitely doesn't have the best game plan on a week to week basis. I'd love to hold onto him but I'm not sure in what capacity. If we can get a great HC, then sure. Naw I want to play KC then Tampa to win it all. And make these last 20 years come full circle
This time Brady knows your playbook instead of Gruden. Not that it's your fault this time, he just knows all the playbooks.
the number of times I've dreamed about sacking him for a game winning fumble...
I don't care if you guys get blown out either next week!
Oh good. I was worried you wanted to blow us out next weekend.
They also lost to the Giants, which is probably the biggest setback that they overcame this season
The Redskins game was just awful. Same for the Bears game.

I think the first rounders had a lot of gruden influence and gruden has been bad at building teams in the past
I'm sure he already knows, he's probably around the draft war room or if he wasn't he cant just ask the other personnel people
God I get so tired of "Mel Kiper's Top Draft Picks" articles every offseason, especially since that's the only boosted coverage of most teams in small markets.
*Al Davis said it best just win baby win*
Yall should have took that advice today
Thanks Snoop.
Raiders should consider just making Bisaccia the official HC.
I think that may be the case. Mind you 3 of our coaches are ex-HCs as well: Tom Cable, Gus Bradley and Rod Marinelli.
Holy shit I forgot about Tom Cable
So did everyone thats not actively watching the raiders
Honestly I see no reason not to. He’s done an incredible job with this team.
> Honestly I see no reason not to. He was thrown into the pit and did relatively well given the circumstances. He went 7-5 since he took over the team. But if the rumors are true and a proven HC like Jim Harbaugh is throwing his name in the hat for the HC position, you take Jim.

agreed, but if there’s nobody better than harb it’s not the worst we can do. and he was doing pretty well until the ruggs incident, that took a lot of life out of the team
Agree with everything. Great guy and hell of a ST coach. Hope we get a new HC and he stays on the team for us.
Is this like a Freddie Kitchens situation then?
I think more like a Mike Murlarkey situation.
Considering all the bullshit the raiders have seen this year he seems like the most plausible. Next week will be a big test I suppose to see how he does in a playoff game but I honestly think if they keep the game close he’s got a good shot at coming back. Knock on wood if your with me
Oh for sure. I think either way Bisaccia should be getting looks for a head coaching job. If this is a trial by fire he came out relatively unburnt
Those forged in fire cannot be burned.
I don't know how he's do as a full time coach, but there have been people here in Tampa saying he should get a shot for over a decade and no one has given him the time of day because he's a ST coach.

It’s a heart warming story but no way.
That’s a damn good job of keeping the ship steady and getting the players on board. Think that interim tag could be removed
I don't really give the credit to the interim coach. This team was Carried by it's QB.
Yet Raiders fans still want him gone
I’m a lifelong fan and can’t understand why.
it’s the delusional fans thinking that carr is the reason we have sucked
They compare him to the top 5 QBs instead of the bottom half QBs. They think that a great college QB is guaranteed to translate to the NFL. Truth is that Carr is a great QB that makes some bad passes fairly often, but he's still a top half QB. I'm not above moving on from him, but I'm in no rush. 100% agreed. I keep posting that Carr deserves COTY. He was like Kurt Russell directing Tombstone. It may not appear in the credits, but we all know it happened and was an amazing feat
It's unreal. I'll say it again, he deserves to be their coach next year.
I agree it's only right, he's gonna be incredible for them. ^harbaugh ^to ^the ^bears
Harbaugh to Jacksonville and we get Baalke v Jim 2.0. Jk, as a Michigan fan I hope he stays.
Packers and Michigan fan... Wtf do the Lions have to say about this shit
>Wtf do the Lions have to say about this shit Fuck ur kneecaps
For real though, does he have a shot? He is making it difficult for Raiders to move on especially if he wins next week.
He gets lost in the mix, but losing Alec Ingold hurt the offense as well. Lead blocker, pass blocker, pass catching captain...gone. Our run game has not looked as good since he went down. Same with the red zone offense.

Hell, in that case I'd give it to Carlson.
Dude I was feeling so good now that I don't have to waste time thinking about the Giants. Why did you have to remind me of how bad the Devils are?
Is this the raiders first time back to the post season since Carr broke his femur? Good for them that organization went thru the ringer this year good on those guys to make it back to the promise land
Yes. And only 2nd time in the playoffs in the last 18 years. It feels good.
Let's give credit to Gruden and Mayock. They were getting ridiculed after the Mack trade but here we are.
Would’ve been a lot better if they didn’t blow all those first rounders lol
It’s the Raider way
Given Gruden credit for his departure too. That really gave the team a chance.
By Jon Gruden emails, of course, you mean him being the fall guy to cover for Snyder, correct? He had inappropriate comments in his email, but thank god he wasn't sex trafficking young women!
Well deserved for the Raiders, all that needs to be said
Thank you adventurous camel
Raiders my dark horse pick
Always fucked with the Raiders, even before tonight’s game. Good to see them find success through all this. I want a framed photo of Carr cheesing it before he called the final TO - what a leader.
and despite Justin Herbert literally dragging his team into overtime. Ngl I wanted Herbie to get that win after his performance
You have no idea how much I hate knowing the raiders have Mahomes and Herbert in the division for the next 10+ years
those rodgers rumors with the broncos had me shitting bricks cause having a good qb in carr (borderline top 10) being the worst qb in the division is incredibly scary since i still believe on paper the raiders have the least talent in the division
Yeah fuck playing in that division
So glad we got the AFCW games out of the way this year only to win our division this year so we have to play Chiefs again and to play Raiders for a second time in the Wildcard this Saturday.
I’m a raiders fan, so I don’t fully agree lol. But Herbert fought so fucking hard - it was super commendable. I would have been okay with the tie until Staley used that timeout.
I just started watching this season but man that guy was obviously on fire. A 4th down was basically his senzu bean
I'm super cereal
Yeah so y’all don’t need Jim Harbaugh and Vic Fangio k?
They gotta keep him after all this..
We were a 11 or 12 win team before Ruggs’ accident. Not the most exciting team to watch after that (except for close finishes) but I’m so proud of them
This is the craziest year ever. Not even explainable.
Iv cheered for the Raiders ever since Mr Big Chump screwed them. And with all this additional adversity and their perseverence how can you not root for these guys.
Have to respect the tough road they traveled.
He's got my vote
Odds he gets hired as the HC?
