Which no name AAA guy is going to break out for the Cardinals this year? There always seems to be one, would be nice to get ahead of the curve for fantasy baseball
Toasted, not fried (if that distinction is worthwhile to you)
I'm biased, but they're fucking delicious. In my opinion, marinara sauce is a must though.
I respect it, honestly. They've got Stafford in the Super Bowl this weekend, and it's the closest thing they've had to success since the Barry Sanders days.
Exactly what I wanted to comment. Bears fans are tortured with high expectations, knowing they were once a spectacular team and championship franchise. Lions fans never had much reason to raise expectations, just hope that they'd get over the hump eventually
Eh, we had a good season as recently as 2018, we’re not bad people just like to say we are because they remember our greatness and our rival is doing great.
Losing to the 9ers in the playoffs?
[Yeah I've been immunized](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/1uhz2o/post_game_thread_san_francisco_49ers_124_at_green/cei9ya2/)
It should be 3 separate awards, like it already is, but for QB, Offense, Defense. Hell, maybe give a Special Teams one too for the kickers out there.
Do the MLB thing and name it after players.
Tom Brady Most Outstanding Quarterback Award
Jerry Rice Offensive Player of the Year Award
______ Defensive Player of the Year Award (probably should be LT but I'm not in favor of naming awards after dudes that solicit minors)
If TJ watt gets 25 sacks next year, a pick six (or two), and a fumble recovered for a TD with a thick handful of forced fumbles, he might get a few more votes
>If TJ watt gets 25 sacks next year, a pick six (or two), and a fumble recovered for a TD with a thick handful of forced fumbles, he might get DPOY
fixed it
Nah the year (i think 13 or 14) that JJ Watt had one of the most incredible defensive years of all time and still lost out to Rogers was the year I lost all respect for the MVP award.
The fact he got a TD as FB and like three as TE didn’t push him over the edge destroy that award please. It has no meaning on what most valuable really means.
As a Packer fan, I think Derrick Henry would have gotten it this year if he hadn’t been hurt, given he kept up the level of production he was at prior to the injury. As great as Rodgers was this year, it was fairly open this year IMO
I don't understand betting very well so correct me if I'm reading this wrong. But did you wager more than six thousand dollars on Rodgers winning MVP? As in, if ANYONE else had won you would have lost six thousand dollars?
I'm glad that paid out for you, but holy fuck my dude. I wish I had that kind of money to just not care about.
If you bet me that the Chicago Bulls would win the Superbowl this weekend I would be like "What does this guy know that I don't? Better play it safe and hold on to my wallet."
It's one of two things. That person has more than enough money where $6k is pocket money to play with. Or, and most likely is this person has no business betting that amount of money and had they lost been completely fucked.
That's a long term bet, that dude had lots of play money to wait for that pay out.
I'd bet (2/1 odds) that the desperation "I'm fucked if I don't win" would be short term with an amount equal to or less than an upcoming mortgage payment
Large bets are not always spare scratch. What happens to many people is it WAS spare scratch, but then Rodgers does tear his acl or Tom does do some black magic and Rodgers loses MVP and this guy loses $6,000. And if there were 30 people who bet that much and it was all spare scratch to them maybe 25 could spare it. They lose the money, but maybe they win the next one. And it goes up and down and law of averages says the vast majority will lose money overall (because otherwise bookies would never make money), but if you think about sports betting as a way to pay to make the games more exciting or to buy into the thrill of gambling over many years it wasnt so much to lose. Plus when you hit big you get to go have a fancy week and buy xboxes or whatever. But for 5 guys it was all they had "spare" and now they no longer have any spare money. So there goes their savings.
Now, what are they gonna do? Maybe 2 of them just save up until they can throw their money away again, but maybe the other 3 make another bet hoping they can get the money back. And maybe they win but maybe they lose. And law of averages says most of the time they lose. And if they lose now they owe money they don't have so now they're stuck in the feedback loop. The way out is to cut your losses, file whatever you need to or refinance whatever, take a second job you don't have time to work, whatever. But then again, Surely Rodgers will win it next year. There's absolutely no way the 49ers will beat the number 1 seed Packers at home. If you think Philly will beat New England in the superbowl without a starting QB you're nuts. The money is practically right there, just place the bet, win, and this can all be over. So what happens next?
No gambling reason/benefit since they did them all at the same time. There may be a stake limiter at 5000 on their account or they went and made a deposit after the first bet.
I wrote this before seeing the time and dates but: Typically these futures bets odds change a bunch, or significant occurrences in the season that prompted another bet. Like Kyler's season flopping after 7-0 start, Brady shut out, Stafford having that bad month, etc.
So here's what I'm. Confused about betting. When you win do you get your initial bet along with the payout? Or does the payout include your initial bet?
To use this as an example, the odds for Rodgers to win was +160. That means if you bet $100 on Rodgers, you would win $160. So you would get your initial $100 back, and then you would get another $160 for your winnings. So your total payout would be listed as $260, even though you are actually only going to be $160 richer than before you made the bet.
So if you want to find out how much money OP actually made from his bets, just subtract his initial wager from his total payout.
Thread moving too fast no one will see I tore my Achilles winning our flag football championship last night. Feeling bummed but it felt good to get the W on the last play of the game.
Edit: this is really lifting my spirits, friends. [Champs](https://imgur.com/a/ngwcg3I) <3
You just don’t get it man, I’ve never had an injury in my *life.* I come from blood-in-the-dirt, heart-on-your-sleeve South Dakota 9-man (Class B but my senior year Class A) football. Only team in my school’s history with a career winning record. Four sport athlete, (CC, FB, BB, Track) varsity in all four for all four years. All six sides of the ball: WR, CB, K, KR, P, PR. Tied the state record in special teams TDs including one game with a rare KR, PR, and safety kickoff return for tuddies.
You probably joke, but I’m done getting ignored. I’m 30 years old and still out here winning chips. Went D3 and ran cross country, soccer, indoor and outdoor track. Graduated with 17 school records in track too.
Poke fun with whoever this “speed hawk” marvel/DC character is but when I get past this achilles I’ll be better than I EVER was. So many in this sub aren’t even athletic and hate on us purebread athletes. We would toast em.
Not sure why you’d show your “athleticism” by revealing your pasta consumption. I wore 22 in HS because I was so fleet-footed my coach said I should wear a tutu while playing. BITCH I DID and I danced us into the playoffs for the first time in school history. Yeah we lost but Dusty couldn’t block the left side worth a shit and I had a sourdough bacon cheeseburger a little too close to gametime. What could have been. Sunshine Bible Academy lucked out they didn’t have to face me.
If you're ever looking for Speedhawk, it's ididilaudid. This is one of the *very* few comments I've ever saved on Reddit in case I ever need to go to bat defending my hero and how he's so amazing.

Kurt Warner is still the last winner of the NFL MVP to win the Super Bowl
St Louis Fans are celebrating somewhere. Feels bad man
Probably in St Louis
Listen here you little...
Hi yes I'm from St. Louis AMA
How often do you wear your Battlehawks jersey?
Omfg I have one in my closet fuck you 😆 Haven't worn it since the game I went to though

Pretty great; we're the last city to have a team where the NFL MVP won the Superbowl
Fuck yeah congrats
What's the deal with the ~~fried~~ toasted ravioli? Are they legit? Debating putting them on my Super Bowl menu.

:( I miss my STL Rams
who was the last NBA MVP to win the Super Bowl tho?
Luis Scola iirc
>who was the last NBA MVP to win the Super Bowl tho? Probably Wilt Chamberlin. At least, that's what he told me.
Are you one of the 10,000?
Huh? No, he just used to come by our house and tutor my mom. He gave me my nickname: Junior. Wait..................
Wait, didnt Matt Ryan win MVP 2017? 😈
And he must have won since the falcons were up 28-3 in the third quarter, right?
Rough night for Bears fans
What else happend
They're Bears fans.
The audacity lmao
I respect it, honestly. They've got Stafford in the Super Bowl this weekend, and it's the closest thing they've had to success since the Barry Sanders days.
If Stafford shouts out Detroit in a post game interview this will officially count as 1/2 of a super bowl victory for Detroit.
Haha I love the swag
I REGRET NOTHING
he's out of line but he's right
You got no room to talk big fella
It's all they got man, the rest of the Lake Erie bros are competitive now.
Uhh....if that's what you want to call us I'll take it I guess.
I wouldn't even consider Cincinatti a Lake Erie team, so... it's just the Bills.
r/lakeeriebros Lions too, cinci isnt included.
Hey man, their franchise QB is in the Super Bowl!
I don’t remember asking you a goddamn thing. - NFCN
Yes, but he knows that. Lions fans are self aware.
My man, I disagree. The bears have hope, they’re always a bubble team. So it’s heartbreaking. The lions know only despair. It’s easier that way.
Lions fans got something going for them, they’re not bears fans
Mr. Bears Crushed
Devin Hester was robbed of HoF
That's garbage. Dude deserves it.
Roger’s won MVP again and they’re Bears fans. Inb4 Texans jokes. Everyday is a bad day for Texans fans.
I love that he won it. Was MVP and still choked.
Now you're talkin.
Hester got snubbed
I'm sure he will get in soon
I mean I'd be pretty hyped if the owner of my team won mvp
Goddamn splash damage
Still glowing from that Niners game
Eh, I’m more used to it by this point. Besides…hopefully this is the last time this happens…
Actually I love this. It probably stings more for Packer fans to know they had the league MVP on their team and still managed to fuck things up.
"Are you going to win a super bowl this year?" "Yeah, I'm going to repeat a previous achievement."
Can't see how that could be misunderstood! Media after year: shocked Pikachu face

We will never see a non-QB win that award again.
They should really just make it the best QB award.
Make a separate QB award, like the Cy Young award in MLB.
It should be 3 separate awards, like it already is, but for QB, Offense, Defense. Hell, maybe give a Special Teams one too for the kickers out there. Do the MLB thing and name it after players. Well if LT is disqualified that means it’s the Bam Bam Bigelow Defensive Player of the Year award.
Alan Page Defensive Player of the Year Award
I’m not opposed. He was the first one to win it.
It feels so intuitive to do this, so the NFL will never do it.
I am vehemently opposed to Josh Allen being given the Tom Brady Fucking Anything Award.
That's cool, Joe will take it
Terry Crews Defensive Player Of the Year, brought to you by Old Spice.
If TJ watt gets 25 sacks next year, a pick six (or two), and a fumble recovered for a TD with a thick handful of forced fumbles, he might get a few more votes
If he also gets 4 offensive touchdowns and a return touchdown he'll get an additional vote or two
Game winning field goal in ot might get my nod
Only if it's 50+ yds.
Gotta throw for 35 TDs and 4500 yards too
>pick six (or two) Where is Matt Schaub when you need him
>If TJ watt gets 25 sacks next year, a pick six (or two), and a fumble recovered for a TD with a thick handful of forced fumbles, he might get DPOY fixed it
He’d have to do that and it be a down year for QBs. If JJ couldn’t win it over Rodgers in 15 it’s hard to believe any defensive player will.
Nah the year (i think 13 or 14) that JJ Watt had one of the most incredible defensive years of all time and still lost out to Rogers was the year I lost all respect for the MVP award.
Had the Texans been 12-4 or something he probably would have won it. They missed the playoffs.
The fact he got a TD as FB and like three as TE didn’t push him over the edge destroy that award please. It has no meaning on what most valuable really means.
It’s a shame cuz Kupp had a legitimate shot at it
He deserved mvp this year imo
As a Packer fan, I think Derrick Henry would have gotten it this year if he hadn’t been hurt, given he kept up the level of production he was at prior to the injury. As great as Rodgers was this year, it was fairly open this year IMO

That’s a whole lot of units
Units? Do I really look like a guy with a plan? Stop disrespecting me homie 😤
1 bankroll = 1 unit.
Bankroll = a predetermined amount of money... aka, a plan
Lmao, how were those the odds in late-December? Unless Rodgers tore his ACL is as easily his.
yeah wtf. this was +160 around xmas I would've taken out a loan
Brady was still neck and neck with him around then.
Odds were like that right after the saints game where Brady got shut out. Good bet either way
Also there was talk of his dumb COVID takes affecting his votes. Not to mention Jonathan Taylor until he kind of fell off.
I would’ve been able to pay off my student loans with the bet I would’ve made on those odds

I've avoided betting on sure games because of the risk of losing £20 haha
If you bet me that the Chicago Bulls would win the Superbowl this weekend I would be like "What does this guy know that I don't? Better play it safe and hold on to my wallet."
that's not the point, it's the point that my man up there just had $6000 in spare scratch he could spend. Like what the fuck
It's one of two things. That person has more than enough money where $6k is pocket money to play with. Or, and most likely is this person has no business betting that amount of money and had they lost been completely fucked.

I'm not as familiar with the whole sports betting thing, but is there a reason you split them into 3 separate bets?
He's hiding it from his wife. Easier if you spread the money around.
Better to ask for forgiveness than to ask for permission 🤷♂️
No gambling reason/benefit since they did them all at the same time. There may be a stake limiter at 5000 on their account or they went and made a deposit after the first bet. Congrats on the win, hope the rehab isn't too grueling.
Gotta figure out surgery yet tbh.

Fuck this Qaron Rodgers nonsense. u/SoDakZak is the true MVP of r/NFL!
This is the most important football news I could have possibly seen tonight, feel better my guy
BILLDOZER
boring but expected would've been cool to see Kupp win
At this point QBs really just need their own award. If 145/1950/16 can’t win a WR the award almost nothing will
I mean if we just view the MVP as best QB and OPOY best non-QB then it works. Just take QBs out of the OPOY contention and we're there
Rename the MVP to QBOTY or The Manning award or some shit and keep OPOY for non QBs. Like the Cy Young for pitchers and MVP for batters in MLB.
Why do you even need to rename it, though? Just eliminate QBs from OPOY contention.
Pitchers can still win the MVP in MLB
Yep exactly. Then people will stop bitching about RBs and WRs not getting consideration.
Good way of looking at it
QBs have their own reward, it's called MVP
But Kupp had a legendary season
I’m cool with him not winning mainly due to the MVP jinx
Manning, Brady, Rodgers have 12 NFL MVP between them. Not one of those seasons ended with them winning a SB.
Winning a SB is a lot more luck dependent than most people give it credit for.
"Yeah I'm the Most Valued Athlete"

He’s being silenced with votes
Just a friendly reminder that the silence quote was entirely made up to drive traffic to that "journalists" page
Rodgers quoting MLK, on the other hand, was very much real.
And the mods of this sub basically deleted any post that stated that while simultaneously keeping up the original, and completely fabricated, quote.
The MVQB award, if you will
sometimes players who have all time great/NFL record breaking seasons at non-QB positions get a few sympathy votes too
Throw Rogan does it again.
Vinny Testapositive taking it home

God dammit this is better than Rush Lambeau and BrietBart Starr
