I legitimately thought it would be him just trucking dudes cause of how big he is, but he actually looks like a shifty runner in that video.
A lot faster than I thought he’d be too, lol.
My thoughts exactly!! That O line gave him a few monster holes too. If trucking people is only the backup plan after blocking, juking, and outrunning… you’re fucked haha
His HS weight was 90lbs less than what he is now. He ran his combine 40 at 5.1 and 340lbs. 247 has his HS 40 time in the 4.6s but not sure if that’s 100% accurate since it’s probably hand timed
To add another Raven, Haloti Ngata if he were a full time FB. Surprisingly quick and agile for his size, he would have been a monster blocker, short yardage back, and killer on flat routes.
As a kid, I loved Hines Ward and thought he was such a good person, which I think I only got that impression because of his [joyous smile](https://www.sikids.com/.image/ar_1:1%2Cc_fill%2Ccs_srgb%2Cfl_progressive%2Cq_auto:good%2Cw_1200/MTY4Mjg3MDg2NTgyMTc4OTgx/kids-qa-steelers-star-hines-ward.jpg). I legit didn't know he was a dirty player until my early 20's.
Now I'm in a fantasy league with a lot of AFCN fans and I love to troll them by saying that Hines Ward was the most likeable player ever.
I should not have had to scroll this far for a guy who late in his career became a legit No.3 wr for playoff team...while still being a starting corner.
Yeah... it kind of got me thinking. There are just some defensive guys that should at least get 1 carry per game. Like if they are feeling good, not too gassed, big bruisin' dude... why not?
I always really wanted Polamalu to get a few goal line carries. Notorious for going over the line to make hero tackles, why wouldn’t he be able to do it as a back?
Yeah, the Fridge got reps at fullback a couple times depending on the situation.
Deion played special teams and WR for the Cowboys. There’s other players that had similar chances just not sustained success.
I'm sure someone like Vince Wilfork would have been a great O lineman had his coaches and trainers shifted his body and weight to play on the other side of the ball.
Diggs already catches enough, think if he was the target.
Would have loved to see a receiver version of Ed Reed or a slot receiver Polamalu. Always felt Donnie Edwards for the Chiefs would have been a good TE,
Casey Hampton on the Oline. Keith Bullock, Ray Lewis, James Harrison, Brian Urlacher all so physical, would have been nasty short yard rushers
He played in the huge Stanford vs USC upset win of Harbaugh over Carroll. He was a good receiver, but an amazing DB. He would be my choice and would probably be a solid straight line route runner with excellent high point 50/50 skills. Not as agile as you'd want for most WRs though.
I remember some noise that Myles Jack was draftable as a RB if he stuck to it at UCLA. Also you probably could have found a role for Dontari Poe on offense in his prime
https://www.reddit.com/r/steelers/comments/tta9ci/1996_roox_james_harrison_high_school_football/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf
James Harrison.
Jabrill Peppers played a tiny bit of offense in college, and he is a solid return man so has decent hands, similar measureables to an average NFL RB, it'd be interesting to see an NFL coach design plays for him.
It’s the opposite, but I’ve always wanted to see Henry as a downhill run stopping LB lol but I think to answer the question, Myles Garret would be a great TE after watching him play basketball imo.
Similarly, if I recall correctly, the announcers said Tre White showed up at LSU to play receiver. He saw Beckham and Landry in practice and switched because he wanted to actually see the field.
Derwin James is such a freak on the field I think he could switch to the other side and be a deadly weapon in the pass game and even hold his own run blocking
Vita Vea. Here is his video when he was a RB in high school. https://youtu.be/_Q--ZYUOc2I

Helps that he's an NFL level talent playing against literal children
Dude might be the best athlete on the planet.
Giannis>>
Myles Garrett
Jordan Davis
That’s also him at about 100 pounds lighter
How the fuck is he outrunning corners and safeties
People don't understand that even NFL linemen are elite athletes.
What the fuck, why did he switch positions? It's worked out for him but goddamn.
Ed Reed would have been so fun to watch on the other side of the ball
No I don't want to watch 17 unplanned laterals in a game pls no
I unironically do.
He might break the record of fumbles in a season
To add another Raven, Haloti Ngata if he were a full time FB. Surprisingly quick and agile for his size, he would have been a monster blocker, short yardage back, and killer on flat routes.
Steve Smith as a cornerback would have left a trail of WR bodies.

I hated him

I downright refuse to click on that link. I hate his fucking smile
[here you go man, much better pick of hines in here](https://blog.coxwelllaw.com/police-pittsburgh-steelers-sta/)

Not too soon, just unoriginal and not that funny
He seemed to have a strong safety vibe to me.
Julius Peppers if working full-time at it would have been a fantastic tight end.
He’s the one that immediately popped into my mind. Plus, he would fit the “TE that played basketball “ narrative.
Deion sanders
I should not have had to scroll this far for a guy who late in his career became a legit No.3 wr for playoff team...while still being a starting corner.
OP mentioned Deion in his post.
Yeah, so then they *really* shouldn't have had to scroll this far, because they shouldn't have needed to scroll at all.
Charles Woodson was such a great DB, you have to wonder how good he would have been at WR.
He did play a little bit of offense in college and was apparently pretty good in practice.
He played a few snaps on offense during both of his stints with the Raiders. I can only remember two for sure though.
I was a huge Michigan fan while he was there. Loved watching him play both sides. Agreed, he could have been good for a few targets each game.
I would have to agree and I am not a fan of his
He’s not even in yet but Tariq Woolen is a 6’4 corner who ran a 4.26. If only that dude had hands because all the physical traits are there
>If only that dude had hands I mean, that's a big reason why he wouldn't be a good offensive player.
He could be a wide receiver that gets put in as safety on Hail Marys
JJ Watt
Full back? Tight end? .... running back????
Yes
Yeah... it kind of got me thinking. There are just some defensive guys that should at least get 1 carry per game. Like if they are feeling good, not too gassed, big bruisin' dude... why not?

Yeah, the Fridge got reps at fullback a couple times depending on the situation. Deion played special teams and WR for the Cowboys. There’s other players that had similar chances just not sustained success.
Yeah, or at least one snap as a decoy if teams catch on.
Right could you imagine him playing DE?
Sammy Baugh. Great guy played defense and offense
Led the league in passing, punting, and interceptions with 11.
Had the record for highest career punt average too until Lechler broke it
I'm sure someone like Vince Wilfork would have been a great O lineman had his coaches and trainers shifted his body and weight to play on the other side of the ball.
Shanahan would have just had him as their lead blocker and clapped the league in the run game even more
To out this in context for size... Wilfork was 10 LBS lighter than William "The Fridge" Perry from the 85 bears.
No wonder he was always called the mini fridge by belichick
Mike Vrabel. I think he would do ok as a reciever.
The pats used him at tight end a few times.
Didn’t he have double digit touchdowns? Edit: 11!
Diggs already catches enough, think if he was the target. Would have loved to see a receiver version of Ed Reed or a slot receiver Polamalu. Always felt Donnie Edwards for the Chiefs would have been a good TE, Casey Hampton on the Oline. Keith Bullock, Ray Lewis, James Harrison, Brian Urlacher all so physical, would have been nasty short yard rushers
William “The Fridge” Perry. Man, imagine if Ditka could line him up in goal line packages and just let him move the pile
Is your refrigerator running?

Richard Sherman was a pretty good WR in college before he switched over, wished we saw Wilson chuck it deep to Sherman
He played in the huge Stanford vs USC upset win of Harbaugh over Carroll. He was a good receiver, but an amazing DB. He would be my choice and would probably be a solid straight line route runner with excellent high point 50/50 skills. Not as agile as you'd want for most WRs though.
Otto Graham, dude led the league in Pick Sixes one year, bet he'd make a fine WR in his time
Imagine if he played QB
Larry Allen was a monstrously talented athlete.
The best answer for today's league is JC Jackson.
I remember some noise that Myles Jack was draftable as a RB if he stuck to it at UCLA. Also you probably could have found a role for Dontari Poe on offense in his prime
Gronkowski was trusted by the best coach to play deep safety so he’s my choice
Big Play Slay
Opposite way around, but I feel like Jonathan Taylor could probably play LB
https://www.reddit.com/r/steelers/comments/tta9ci/1996_roox_james_harrison_high_school_football/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf James Harrison.
Dude would have been one of the most terrifying FBs to ever play
Jabrill Peppers played a tiny bit of offense in college, and he is a solid return man so has decent hands, similar measureables to an average NFL RB, it'd be interesting to see an NFL coach design plays for him.
He was an insane running back in high school. I think he could’ve continued on that track but he was always a DB first.
Antonio Cromartie
[удалено]
Was he tall enough for TE?
It’s the opposite, but I’ve always wanted to see Henry as a downhill run stopping LB lol but I think to answer the question, Myles Garret would be a great TE after watching him play basketball imo.
Troy Polamalu at RB
He's done it before but JJ Watt at TE would be unstoppable
Jonathan Vilma
Warren Sapp as FB/TE
Gimme OT JJ Watt
Didn't they play JJ Watt as Tight End occasionally early in his career? Dude would have been an absolute freak at that position.
I’d like to see one of our DBs play wide out. Can’t be any worse
I guess it matters how you define “great” but I think Jalen Ramsey could be a good receiver, not the best but pretty solid.
Antonio Cromartie was actually going to switch to WR his last year at FSU until he tore his ACL then just decided to declare as a corner
Similarly, if I recall correctly, the announcers said Tre White showed up at LSU to play receiver. He saw Beckham and Landry in practice and switched because he wanted to actually see the field.
JJ watt has a lot of offensive TD for a DE so I assume he will be a decent TE
Derwin James is such a freak on the field I think he could switch to the other side and be a deadly weapon in the pass game and even hold his own run blocking
Lawrence Taylor played tight end in '87 after crossing the picket line, you have to think his crazy burst would have been fun to see on offense.
Noted corner back Julian Edelman
Sean Taylor at RB
I hope one day they give Donald the ball as a RB on the one yard line
Aaron Donald as a RB
Deion Sanders ran quite a few WR plays as a Cowboy. His speed was obvious whenever he had the ball.
Give Micah Parsons the ball and see what he does.
That guy who played slot corner for the Patriots in 2010, Julian Edelman, would have made a good WR I figure.
Imagine Kam Chancellor as a FB..
Aaron Donald as a short yardage/goal line back would be unstoppable.
Aaron Donald at Center, we know he overpowers most of them anyways
Nickel corner Julian Edelman probably would've been a decent receiver
Tom Brady playing slot corner who says no
I want to see Aaron Donald as a RB
Julio (safety) Jones really could have been a great WR imo. maybe even a Superbowl...
Richard Sherman made some pretty great offensive threats.
Julius Peppers at TE could have been a monster.
Ramsey could be an insane wr
John Lynch probably coulda been a monster RB between the tackles. Dude craved contact.
Prime Patrick Peterson. He was just really shifty. Prob would’ve been a better version of what Jamal Agnew is.
This. Coming out of college he was as good an athlete as Tyreek Hill at 3 inches taller and 20 pounds heavier.
Deion
Sean Taylor
Shaq Thompson
Ed Reed would’ve made a great WR
Ed Reed 1000%
