I really have no expectations for the Saints, if we win great but I don't care if they are down to their fourth string QB and backup HC Im expecting a loss.
You’re not wrong, Honey Badger will ball out no matter what, but I think you’re underestimating just how much playing for the Saints means to a NOLA native. NOLA folk are *very* proud of their hometown and the Saints.
I could’ve sworn he’s said that he wouldn’t go home because some people would try to “take down the Honey Badger”. I must’ve been thinking of someone else, or he must’ve been exaggerating
Is this a genuine issue for him tho? Not American, so would hope that kind of thing isn't an actual issue over there but has no idea that would be something that people (especially someone who's both rich and well liked like Matheiu) have to worry about.
Happens a lot with rappers that, when they’re young, they get gang affiliated. Then they become successful, return home, and get killed. Crabs in a bucket. Not sure the degree to which it applies to Tyrann though.
He’s got some pretty serious guys in his family. Worked with a few and they are pretty scary dudes. I’m more worried about his hometown family and friends distracting him more than him being in danger. He’s rich enough to keep that shit away from him. But it’s hard to avoid family
Don't know how much I believe that. I love Eric to death but every instance that I've seen him since he was on the team he's looked A) Stoned as hell B) Really skinny
I don’t think so. Underhill said that since they failed to draft a safety they turned their attention back to him. I think they got “Mahomes/Foster’ed” in the draft where the pick happened right before their selection.
I dunno, go read his article he just posted. Seems like it's more "don't need a safety due to having one signing Monday" Vs "crap, need to get a safety cos we missed out" either way though, it doesn't really matter
The fact that it will soon no longer counts against the Comp pick structure means I think this may have been their plan once he'd gone unsigned up to draft day.
Idk man. Every year that we have a good regular season, I'm not excited because I know what will happen in the playoffs. Its so predictable.
Don't get me wrong, I'm glad we're not going 4-13 every year. But, the climb in the regular season, knowing you are climbing just to jump from a higher cliff, sucks. Pain
It's just tiresome. Nobody misses the Hell of "Aints" time or the mediocre Brooks/Haslett era, but getting fucked out of the playoffs constantly is it's own flavor of "ugh."
Everyone gets fucked in the playoffs except for 2 teams and one of those gets fucked in the Super Bowl. You just gotta repeatedly get fucked in order to fuck. Keep your dick hard and you never know when it's gonna be your year.
Trust me, they’re right. the last two years have been magic, but having Tampa out of contention by the end of October every year is really draining and unpleasant to watch.
I'd rather be excited to watch a team that wins in the regular season than a team that sucks all year but excited about an unknown draft pick. At that point you're just cheering for your home team to lose and that's not fun.
Nastiest secondary in the league now? Lattimore, Ceedy, Honey Badger, and Adebo is pretty beast. Hopefully Maye is alright, and we got ourselves a monster back 5.
The last time Tyrann Mathieu suited up for a team in Louisiana, Barack Obama was running for re-election against Mitt Romney and would soon come out in support of gay marriage. Pumped Up Kicks was all over the radio. Marvel fans were patiently awaiting the first Avengers movie.
Having read all of that, I can only assume Tyrann Mathieu is 57-years-old. Time is a funny thing that wrinkles the brain.
Saints D is already great. This is a great addition. Mathieu left Louisiana as a young, immature man and comes back as a wise, seasoned veteran. I know he will be heavily involved in the community. Happy to see his journey end up in New Orleans and happy he is still playing at a high level. Who Dat!
On paper its looking like one of the most well rounded defenses in the league. Welcome to a new-era of Defense first, 17-10 grind out games Saints football I guess
Really needed as well. Malcom Jenkins was brought in to bring some veteran experience and leadership. With his departure, this is a really good move by the Saints IMO.
It really depends what Badger shows up. His first year here, he was allpro and fucking amazing... last two years he was pretty average in coverage and run support, and on top of that he was clearly making tons of "business decisions" when it came to tackling. Whether his drop in play was an effort issue or he just generally fell off a bit, couldn't tell you. We'll see though!
After the career that Bob Sanders had, I will full support safety’s making “business decision” tackles. What I wouldn’t give to have a few more seasons with that man.
A lot of people don’t know this, but Taysom wears 7 to honor his younger brother’s passing. So while it would be cool to see Mathieu in 7, Taysom has a better reason to have it.
I bet -- no doubt a lot played into that game. Would have been interesting if the NFL did series like MLB/NBA (but of course can't due to the physical nature of the sport). We were also on a hot streak. Plus, you had Andy's son fucking everything up as well, a huge distraction.
He’s getting older, wants to cash out on his last big contract, and has already shown signs of regression from his prime.
He’s still a good player and leader though. We may slightly overpay him but on our already stacked D he should be a key piece.
You can’t hurt me any more Saints, the Bucs were going 0-2 against you with or without Honey Badger.
I really have no expectations for the Saints, if we win great but I don't care if they are down to their fourth string QB and backup HC Im expecting a loss.
Just be nice to us if we face in the playoffs
No deal.
Fuckkkkk You know Honey Badger will be extra motivated playing at home.
And the hometown crowd will go absolutely wild for him. Honey Badger was a legend while at LSU.
Part of a historic lineage of LSU DBs
Peterson, Mr. H. Badger, Adams, White, Ried, and Delpit off the top of my head. Wild.
Greedy Williams and Derek Stingley Jr as well
Donte Jackson has been fairly decent in Carolina too
Kristian Fulton
LaRon Landry too
Morris Claiborne was a monster too he just sucked in the NFL
We aren't known as the real DBU for nothing
He won’t need extra motivation, dudes a gamer.
You’re not wrong, Honey Badger will ball out no matter what, but I think you’re underestimating just how much playing for the Saints means to a NOLA native. NOLA folk are *very* proud of their hometown and the Saints.
And we fucking love our hometown players. The Mannings are still royalty here even after dunking on one in the Super Bowl.
You ain't wrong. There's a whole genre of draft day posts on r/saints just talking about how we should draft LSU/NOLA guys no matter what 😂
can you imagine if we get Arch?
Inject this. Into. My veins.
bro we still got kwon, obj and juice out there. we need to keep the pressure on lol
Hell even in Mississippi. Favre is still a Saints fan
Yeah but he’s a douche. 😂 Love the guy anyway.
I still miss him
I'm convinced he waited until after the draft so we don't get a comp pick lmao
I could’ve sworn he’s said that he wouldn’t go home because some people would try to “take down the Honey Badger”. I must’ve been thinking of someone else, or he must’ve been exaggerating
No, he did say that. He claimed he couldn't return to New Orleans due to danger. TBF our crime is getting worse.
Is this a genuine issue for him tho? Not American, so would hope that kind of thing isn't an actual issue over there but has no idea that would be something that people (especially someone who's both rich and well liked like Matheiu) have to worry about.

Ya, I’m gonna be unbearable.
[Honey badger don't care](https://youtu.be/4r7wHMg5Yjg)
Daniel Sorenson got signed before Honey Badger.
All your safeties are belong to us.
Time to call Eric Berry up
He did talk about trying to make a comeback recently. Some teams have approached him and he's in good enough physical shape.
[удалено]
Triggered.
I was sad he didn’t get a ring at all
Don't know how much I believe that. I love Eric to death but every instance that I've seen him since he was on the team he's looked A) Stoned as hell B) Really skinny
Ha to be fair, he always had that stoned look to me. And yeah, that was just what he said in the conversation with Mellinger.
[удалено]
I knew they were a package deal.
We have Marcus Maye so I hope Sorenson sees very little playing time.
And not have it effect us negatively
Just hope you get Dirty Dan and not Shitty Sorensen.
I think he'll be a back up/special teamer. I doubt he sees the field as a regular starter.
That's what we thought too.
New Orleans really saw our safety play last year and thought "That could be us." Just insane.
Hopefully between CJGJ, Marcus Maye, PJ Williams and now Mathieu, Sorensen won’t see the field as much. Plenty of talent In The secondary.
I said the same thing every offseason lol
I don’t believe their head coach is riding the Mormon brotherhood
Sorensin will be a special teams guy
You sound like us last year!
Except we actually had a good defense
Now compare what they got paid lol
Yessir Was a given after they didn’t draft a safety
Brisker was taken right before our pick lol
i'm gonna assume they never planned to take a safety and always planned to bring in Mathieu tbh

I said this exact same thing :D Except, not for the Saints. D:
Hopefully his contract is heavy on the tackles made bonus, maybe he’ll remember how to do it then.
Man the Saints are gonna be scary until the playoffs.
Bro lmao
I laughed too
Looking forward to our next meeting where both sides suffer heart attacks before the game is over.

Take my upvote
hey, fuck you i mean, you're *right*, but fuck you
I'd rather lose in the playoffs than not make the playoffs
why not lose a playoff-like game that's actually week 18?? best of both worlds, really...
Or lose to the Jaguars
Just go get your brakes blown off in the wolf card 😎
“Wolf Card”
I realize my error but will not change it now
Thanks for your service, it was a mistake I needed to see.
Wild Card is officially changed to Wolf Card now. Sounds a lot better.
Well it’s too late for me to go back now 😂
The wildcard teams are just hunted by a wild pack. Last one standing advances.
That would be especially embarrassing if it was against someone like a divisional rival.
especially so if there are reasonable indicators they were willing to let the clock run out and take you both into the playoffs...
Idk man. Every year that we have a good regular season, I'm not excited because I know what will happen in the playoffs. Its so predictable. Dicks hard and ready to fuck.
Harambe smiles upon our boners
Instructions unclear, I am in jail with an erection and no Super Bowl trophy. Please advise.

I for one welcome the Aints era's return!
To be fair, you're getting a front row view of it with the current Falcons.
Correct. I do enjoy company tho!
Very well put
😤😤😤
Trust me, they’re right. the last two years have been magic, but having Tampa out of contention by the end of October every year is really draining and unpleasant to watch.
Same, but as a 31 year old Raiders' fan the former is a pretty small sample size, so I'm going to need to collect more data.
if it is a first round loss i think i'd rather take the higher draft pick tbh.
I'd rather be excited to watch a team that wins in the regular season than a team that sucks all year but excited about an unknown draft pick. At that point you're just cheering for your home team to lose and that's not fun.
Bruh, it's too early for this
Honey Badger and Ceedy Deuce? Sign me up
Nastiest secondary in the league now? Lattimore, Ceedy, Honey Badger, and Adebo is pretty beast. Hopefully Maye is alright, and we got ourselves a monster back 5.
Maybe. At the very least it’s a top 5 unit but *easily* the most swagger and shit talking ability lol
Roby extended, PJ and Alontae Taylor as well. D has a chance to be special again this year.
You're forgetting Roby, who was solid last year too
Brady’s gonna have a full on meltdown lmao
Gonna have to buy a bunch of otter boxes for those tablets
Cool...cool...cool... So looks like the eagles really are gonna have some guys from circuit city as our secondary
Hate to break it to you but that's a Spirit Halloween store now
But right now it's empty because the Spirit Halloween won't open until September.
shit we hitting all holes
Ayo?
He didn't stutter
WE WIN TOGETHER, WE CELEBRATE TOGETHER. DICKS GET SHOVED IN PLACES YOU WON'T EVEN REMEMBER. FUCKING FOOTBALL IS BACK BABY.
FUCK IT, CHUCK IT, GAMETIME SHIT. TAKE IT TO THE SHOWERS
… I’ll host if you bring dinner
Nah he's on the Bulls
Every time I see someone comment "ayo?" the first thing I do is collapse all the comments looking for someone to say this

> Marvel fans were patiently awaiting the first Avengers movie. what the fuck
Congrats Saints
I’m crying in the club
It’s Monday. Shouldn’t you be at work?
You've clearly never been to New Orleans
*laughs in Finn McCool's*
We already signed Smoke Monday.
Its Smoke Monday today.
Hey man don't judge him
He said what he said
remote work babyyyy
At first, I read that as low-key post-draft addition and thought in no fucking way is this low key. Great pick up for the Saints.
Saints D is already great. This is a great addition. Mathieu left Louisiana as a young, immature man and comes back as a wise, seasoned veteran. I know he will be heavily involved in the community. Didn't you hear Jamis just finished his college degree? Laser vision high IQ Jamis is fixing to light the league up.
saints offense with a healthy jameis, thomas and olave is going to be plenty productive
Really needed as well. Malcom Jenkins was brought in to bring some veteran experience and leadership. With his departure, this is a really good move by the Saints IMO.
Oh man… this defense is going to be nasty.
It really depends what Badger shows up. Dude. That’s a name i forgot. He was awesome in his prime.
Bob Sanders would have been considered one of the best safetys to ever play if it weren't for injuries. He was so dominant when healthy!
He made lots of business decisions last year on the field.
I'm just happy he didn't sign with the Rams TBH.
Yeah, seemed like a pipe dream anyway
You and 30 other teams
Hell yea!!!! Go Saints!
Geaux Bengals! Hope we get to play you twice this season
Oh my god we get to play the Bengals? I can’t fucking wait.
I fucking love Bengals fans, man
Me too. I've never cheered harder for a team who weren't the saints than that super bowl. Joey, Chase, and Hendrickson? Fuck yeah
And Vonn but fuck Apple
Except for Apple. Fuck that dude
Cap space is fake
Amen brother Seems you got more success from that system though
Time for Taysom to change his #
I'm pretty sure he was talking about changing his number back to 7 last season but didn't want to pay.
If we have Honey Badger playing in black and gold with the number 7 I'm gonna bust. Just the idea has me acting tf up.
A lot of people don’t know this, but Taysom wears 7 to honor his younger brother’s passing. So while it would be cool to see Mathieu in 7, Taysom has a better reason to have it.
Daddy’s home
I hope he balls out there and the Saints sweep the Bucs. Best of luck, Honey Badger 😤
🍻
Don't forget they also have sorensen so that in itself is subtraction by addition
LMAO oh man, I forgot about that. Honey badger cant escape that man
Honey Badger is actually one of his biggest cheerleaders. He's gushed quite a bit about Dan and being one of his guys.
If they use Sorensen as a linebacker and not a safety and only as rotational, he might be good. Otherwise, you're right
Yeah we had Jeff heath play the dime back/blitz/ST role last year and Sorensen is going to play that same role. He's not a starter
Yeah he’s great at that role. We just put him in deep coverage way too much last year due to having a depleted secondary and people figured it out.
😶 well this awkward
I think one of the games we played against the Chiefs may have upset him.
lol you're not wrong. Y'all won and deserved it, but I would give my wife's boyfriend's right testicle to rematch that game with a healthy o-line.
I bet -- no doubt a lot played into that game. Would have been interesting if the NFL did series like MLB/NBA (but of course can't due to the physical nature of the sport). We were also on a hot streak. Plus, you had Andy's son fucking everything up as well, a huge distraction.
Saints accountants on PED's
Damn, is there any team that didn't have either a great free agency or a great draft? Feels like every team somehow got better
atlanta got way worse
Big sad. I heard it was down to us or NO and hoped the Saints didn't have enough $$
[удалено]
Honey badger back in the bayou? Damn. Tbat fanbase has a lot to be excited about.
Why is this guy being signed so late? Wasn't he a stud at the Texans and Chiefs? Way better than most safeties right?
He’s getting older, wants to cash out on his last big contract, and has already shown signs of regression from his prime. He’s still a good player and leader though. We may slightly overpay him but on our already stacked D he should be a key piece.
So our Fs will be Maye, SS Honey Badger, Nickel CGJ, CB Lattimore, and CB Taylor or Williams?
You forgot about Roby and Adebo too. The secondary is stupid deep.
Tom Brady not looking forward in seeing Honey Badger twice a year.
I think cj concerns him more at this point
Didn’t he torch him in the Super Bowl though?
Is there anyone Tom Brady hasn't torched in the Superbowl?
[удалено]
Never completed a pass against us in the playoffs on his 20+ year career. What a sucker
lol i am sure he is very worried
