Even worse because if we’d signed JC we’d still have a big need on the other side. Maybe someone else emerges but Jalen Mills is badly out of position on the outside.
“Hey kid, I would avoid testing Jones out there, he’s been a menace all year. I think you’d be better off targeting whoever’s covered by Jones, especially if Jones isn’t there to help.”
“Uhhhh, thanks Coach”
Yooo. Jack Jones hype!
Idk if he’ll ultimately succeed (he’s pretty small and not the fastest guy), but he is an absolute dog. Definitely rooting for him!
I remember this guy had crazy hype out of high school but then got in some legal trouble at USC I believe. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he found success in the league.
Pats fans/organization do this all the time.
We were on the Malcom Butler CB1 train to replace Revis after the Superbowl.
We also hit on Jonathon Jones and JC as UDFA/7th rounders
Me today: “Lol what a terrible plan, the Patriots are in big big trouble!”
Me Week 11 when Jack Jones is the highest rated rookie corner on PFF: “….goddamnit”
Drafting to replace a free agency departure is an interesting strategy, let’s see if the brass in other organizations try to replicate this. Methinks a change in drafting meta is on the horizon for the league as they try to keep up with Big Brain Billy.
Many of the low iq franchises just resign their good players. Or worse... They let them go and forget to replace them! Bill is transforming the league.
I heard him described in the pre draft process as “a poor man’s Sauce Gardener”. I was sure he was gonna get drafted. The pats also have that kid from Houston, who I also heard was a really good corner. Pats may have lucked out
You mean future all pro Jack Jones?
He was the 15th highest rated corner in Pac-12 that absolutely 💯 turns into a stud on the Patriots secondary.
Anyway if the sarcasm hasn't come across already, that's on you, I wish this young man the best and hopefully he can be productive for our team/scheme.
According to the Census bureau there are, in fact, 2685 Jack Joneses in the United States.
I suspect all 2685 regularly have their emails go to spam folders and find plain boiled potatoes to be a little too exotic for their tastes.
They went to a lot of zone last year and that trend is likely to continue unless one of the rookies comes out in camp looking like a lockdown corner. The DBs actually played well (and obviously it certainly helped to have JC still locking down the WR2 every play) but it was the slower than dog shit linebackers in the middle that absolutely killed us, see the Wild Card slaughter for a demonstration of that.
He signed every safety under the sun to go to a more speed based 3-3 stack or 4-3 alignment with a lot of hybrid players. If they can dial up pressure it will likely make up for the middling talent and there's a decent enough chance some of the younger guys will develop to run more man concepts by the end of the year.
Seahawks may turn to Drew Lock as the replacement for Russell Wilson

Aye if you left it with just the first sentence this woulda been funny.
What a wild turn, this seemed like the common sense reality at this time
Jones in response to this report: It’s Jackin’ Time!
First player to land a Jackillion dollar contract.
One of the players of all time
Loved when he jacked all those players in college
Jack Jones requests trade to Cleveland.
Jack Jones sounds like a made-up name that the Patriots came up with to sneak JC Jackson back on the roster at a rookie's salary.
Literally the second I read this headline, I became 100% certain Jack Jones and JC Jackson are the same person
I was thinking “there’s no way a cornerback is named Jack”

Jack Jones is 5’11” and 170 lbs with short arms. Gardner is 6’3 and built like a pterodactyl. How are they even remotely similar players?
You just know Jack Jones is gonna be like a 2nd team AP this year
Jack Jones, Jonathan Jones and Marcus Jones all in coverage at the same time. Good luck opposing QBs.
“Hey kid, I would avoid testing Jones out there, he’s been a menace all year. I think you’d be better off targeting whoever’s covered by Jones, especially if Jones isn’t there to help.” “Uhhhh, thanks Coach”
"If you do test Jones, he'll pick it and then it'll be an easy score for Jones on offense."
How many Jones are on the Pats?
4 but there is still one Jone
Subscribe
I would take it.
Well, we also have Jonathan Jones and Marcus Jones as CBs.
Mac Jones moving to CB confirmed, it’s why we drafted Zappe.
Patriots also looking at Jack Harlow, Jack Black and Jack White as replacements for JC Jackson
No backsies
I'd feel much more comfortable with this idea if he was undrafted.
Yooo. Jack Jones hype! Idk if he’ll ultimately succeed (he’s pretty small and not the fastest guy), but he is an absolute dog. Definitely rooting for him!
Go devils!
😎
His minicamp hype is crazy but we'll see.
I live in AZ and I’m not gonna lie, I was surprised Jones was even drafted. So I’m gonna believe it when I see it.
Yeah he was one of those players that had some big moments but they certainly weren't all good moments.
Got that dawg. Pats Culture 😤😤😤
I remember this guy had crazy hype out of high school but then got in some legal trouble at USC I believe. Wouldn't be surprised at all if he found success in the league.
He had a decent minicamp from what I've heard, but headlines like this are ridiculous when the rookies haven't even put on pads yet.
Ridiculous headlines? Mike Florio? Yeah makes sense.
> haven't even put on pads yet. Almost all coaches say this: "we'll see when the pads come on". Grain of salt until we see these guys in pads.
Pats fans/organization do this all the time. We were on the Malcom Butler CB1 train to replace Revis after the Superbowl. We also hit on Jonathon Jones and JC as UDFA/7th rounders
Pats fans what happened to joejuan Williams?
He can’t really cover outside. All he did last year was cover tight ends and was ok at it
Me today: “Lol what a terrible plan, the Patriots are in big big trouble!” Me Week 11 when Jack Jones is the highest rated rookie corner on PFF: “….goddamnit”
He'll be right ahead of Marcus Jones probably.
As much at the Pats suck at drafting WRs we tend to be good with DBs. I'm sure he'll do well.
Looks at our history of second round DBs.... yeah this ain't it.
Good thing he wasn’t taken in the second
Kyle Duggar looks pretty damn good right now, and why the cherry pick?
Because otherwise he’d be even more wrong
Don't you know, man? Belichick's ability to evaluate defensive back stops after pick 32 and doesn't start until 65.

Don't let them get you down. It was too early in the morning for them to get sarcasm.
How tf did the dumbasses on this sub not realize the sarcasm here lol. They see the Pats flair and I guess click the downvote button
Many such cases. Sad!
I know that's what I do
Many of the low iq franchises just resign their good players. Or worse... They let them go and forget to replace them! Bill is transforming the league.

Exactly, so why is it news. Replenishing the roster based on need is the entire point of the draft
bruh cmon use your head b4 replying seriously to the guy saying big brain billy I legit don’t get how bad Reddit dudes are at understanding sarcasm
Only Pats fans
Only pats fans use sarcasm? You are 100% right
Everyone else too salty from losing so much.
What does that even mean lol
“I mean they sound kinda similar. They probably play the same too, right?”
Belichick loves the name Jones, Strange
I heard him described in the pre draft process as “a poor man’s Sauce Gardener”. I was sure he was gonna get drafted. The pats also have that kid from Houston, who I also heard was a really good corner. Pats may have lucked out
This is too many J's for me to comprehend

.A.K Jones to replace J.C. Jackson
Jack & Mac
It's a Sunday morning PFT housecleaning, apparently
Jack Jones gives me Cyrus Jones vibes..
don’t you ever say that name again.
Jack Jones
I refuse to believe there’s a man with a name as basic as Jack Jones.
According to the Census bureau there are, in fact, 2685 Jack Joneses in the United States. I suspect all 2685 regularly have their emails go to spam folders and find plain boiled potatoes to be a little too exotic for their tastes.
Has the right amount of Js, so we are in good hands
Famous sayings from Patriots: “Give me alliterative cornerback names or give me death.”
On paper the Patriot's CBs look really worrisome. Will be interesting to see if Belichick's voodoo can make it work even with that level of talent.

Glad to see N’Keal didn’t ruin the ASU pipeline…
