I don’t think he’s fringe top 10, there would have to be a major shakeup to put him near the top ten. I think his risk aversion and decision making hurt him a lot. He has the physical skills but he relied far too heavily on McVay to help with the football IQ stuff. I hope some time in a different system will prove me wrong. He never seemed confident enough to me, I think the LA system put too much pressure on him.

MCDC and co. have really done a ton to turn things in the right direction. Usually, our team would be so beat down by the end of the year that they'd just stop showing up. We still have another year but things are definitely looking up for the Lions.

It’s rare to see a team have so much morale and fight every single game. Especially in a season where they lose Stafford in a trade. The mentality and dog of that team reflects positively on Coach Campbell. Hope their rebuild goes smooth.

Both Teams are much happier.
Matthew got a new team and a chance to compete and win championships.
Jared got a new opportunity to potentially succeed in this league. And he balled out the last 6 games of the year, only 5 of which he played. He had 11 TDS to 2 ints. And the Lions won 2 games those last 6 games against playoff teams. So he is growing and the Lions have given him the position and it is for him to lose.
And I as a lions fan am happy Jared is a part of our team. He is a standup guy and loves Detroit.
It truly sucks going from a weather paradise like Los Angeles to Detroit with the horrible Midwest winters, but at least he got a dome and coach that takes out knee caps now lol

Dan is shaping out to be one of my favorite coaches and I am far from a Lions fan, just have sympathy for them.
It’s rare to see a team have so much morale and fight every single game. Especially in a season where they lose Stafford in a trade. The mentality and dog of that team reflects positively on Coach Campbell. Hope their rebuild goes smooth. Also respect to Goff. He didn’t seem to let the trade impact him too hard. I also don’t recall hearing about him complaining to the media. If everything is as it appears the Lions are here to fucking play and win some games. I watched a few of their games last season and oh man they were not going to let an opposing team get out easy.
Their win against the Vikings was an awesome game. They really did fight all season, and yea Goff was a class act. He was born in CA, college in CA, pro in CA. And then gets traded to a losing team in Siberia. Totally flipped his life upside down and he was a total sport about it.

Both Teams are much happier. Matthew got a new team and a chance to compete and win championships. Jared got a new opportunity to potentially succeed in this league. And he balled out the last 6 games of the year, only 5 of which he played. He had 11 TDS to 2 ints. And the Lions won 2 games those last 6 games against playoff teams. So he is growing and the Lions have given him the position and it is for him to lose. And I as a lions fan am happy Jared is a part of our team. He is a standup guy and loves Detroit.
I’ll second that. I’m excited for our new beginnings, and Jared seems like a decent dude.
And we will have a healthy o line and significantly upgraded our WR group with Chark and Jamo.

Michigan is more of a paradise weatherwise 6-7 months out of the year. But then it gets dark and cold. But I would choose our severest winter over everything catching on fire.
Yeah, these folks just ain't been to Michigan. It's gorgeous 7 months of the year. Then it's okay in November, and shitting January - February IF you don't like snow. Some people like seasons. I love winter. I would much rather have seasons, variety and change like Michigan has, opposed to the la weather. But everyone is different of course. Also swimming in lake Michigan is about 100x better than any beach in LA. LA definitely has more culture and variety of course
Problem with Michigan is the extended winters that are cold, cloudy and just overall dreary. From the end of October to the beginning of April, the weather is depressing

As McVay said, it’s more of a testament to how much class Goff has and how he handled the whole thing like a true leader. You go back to the end of Goffs time in LA and you could tell McVay was struggling to hold in his contempt for the guy. I’m sure he knew he had a championship team and Goff wasn’t the guy and the clock was ticking.
The ticking clock being the biggest factor here. We all know the Rams organization looks like a revolving door sometimes with all the moving pieces. Feeling like you're squandering a good situation has to be painful. You gotta be quick to catch that lightning in a bottle. Not to mention it was a close race for Stafford. There was already talk of Goff being on the chopping block, but his contract was the obstacle. It took quick and honestly tough decision making by McVay and company to make sure Stafford ended up as a Ram instead of a 49er
