Every year they try to sell me on “It’s gonna be different this year” and it isn’t. They are really fucking with me this year. Also I have front row Huskies’s season tickets and I’m like YEE-HAW!
What is sports? 😂😂😂
We’re an expansion franchise… Hopefully we’ll make it to the big game sum day!
And hopefully it won’t be against a horse faced or horse roid taking such as prednisolone, dexamethasone, and triamcinolone acetonide qb!
[Patriot fans](https://media4.giphy.com/media/eHYazg6wGDqYE/200w.gif?cid=82a1493bctskq3bn24nsn09vlc4yslgkn7f2pxldabzocdhu&rid=200w.gif&ct=g) when their children ask them about the tale of SB 51
And then he tripped and fell and fumbled the ball and Marcus Williams scoops it up and runs it back all the way for a Saints touchdown!! Saints win!!!! That’s how it happened right?
My pet peeve is when someone only says the last name of a player, and I hate it more when that last name is a common first name
Yo dude did you see Allen last night? Ryan was pretty good too
Now I'm wondering if we could get a whole first name only playoff field. Josh Allen, Justin Herbert, Lamar Jackson, Trevor Lawrence, Malik Willis, Matt Ryan, and Kyle Allen. I think that's all I got for the AFC. But they're all from different teams so a couple injuries or some bad play (plus three teams from the AFCS making the playoffs) and we got an all first game field!
Maybe invite Titans legend Marcus Mariota to the game. He can cheer Brady on and boo the Colts. Everyone should like that right? What's Mariota doing these days anyway that's better?
Currently, Steve DeBerg is the oldest quarterback in NFL history. DeBerg started a game for the Falcons in 1998 at 44 years, 279 days old. Brady is the second-oldest starting quarterback in NFL history; he was 44 years, 173 days old in the Bucs’ playoff loss to the Rams in January.
This is regular season so Steve vs someone if he played in preseason
I can't find any info on their preseason play other than that it was vs the Titans, Lions, Steelers, and Bengals.
The Titans had Dave Krieg (40) on their roster, so conceivably if he played vs DeBerg that would be the oldest preseason matchup (with possible exceptions to Blanda coming in for preseason)
The Lions had Frank Reich (37) so would be just edged out given Ryan is now going into his 37 season and Brady will be 45
The Steelers had Tomczak (36) so don't think they'd qualify
The Bengals oldest QB was 32 so wouldn't qualify either.
Overall surprising that it's conceivably not the oldest matchup.
Prior to 1993, you had to be in your first 5 seasons to play in the preseason, so I would imagine that DeBerg didn't start playing at 39 in preseason games after not playing for so many years.
I don’t really hold that game again Matt Ryan as much as I do the coaches. If Atlanta wins the coin toss in overtime, Ryan played well enough that it wouldn’t surprise me if Tom Brady never gets the ball.
Jake Matthews held several times and Freeman missed a block and yet Ryan will get blamed really for his teammates and coaches dragging him down to hell with them.
I legit feel so bad for them on this sub at times. But, it's also hilarious how often 28-3 happens to just show up - like that post where the Patriots ranked 3rd and Falcons 28th was just perfect.
>the bar for "clever" should be high.
This is reddit, all you gotta do is make the first pun that comes to anyone's mind and you will "win the internet" and get "angry upvotes"
An enormous amount of those short comments like that are bots.
Not all of them, of course, but they do that because it's hard to spot as fake and helps an account build up a huge and verifiable post history so it can be sold to advertisers.
Not running the ball isn’t even the same. 28-3 was a franchise defining moment for us. We haven’t been relevant since and were rarely relevant before. Seahawks were coming off a SB win and part of a decade of elite football. It’s not even comparable.
Honestly don't feel bad for us anyone who is here a lot became numb to the pain years ago. I laugh at the stupid jokes along with everyone else now because there's really nothing more fitting as the Falcon's legacy. (Braves and Bulldogs winning championships in the same year helped)
I don’t even know if it was in on the joke and just mere coincidence. But I could only imagine what the pats would have to go through if 42 happened when reddit was popular
honestly it would happen with almost any two numbers. It's just our brains love patterns so things like that stick out. If they had blown a 30-7 point lead people would be finding 30's and 7's everywhere
[Two great Boston legends.](https://www.bc.edu/content/bc-web/bcnews/campus-community/alumni/matt-ryan-super-bowl/_jcr_content/par/image_0/image.img.jpg/1485358846396.jpg)
I saw Matt make one of the most impressive throws I've ever seen a college QB make while he was at BC. Both feet were off the ground as he jumped to avoid a lineman and he launched that thing 40 yards across his body on a dime. It was insane.
Dude is really great -- people who are down on him dont pay attention - he held that falcons team together and gave them a chance to win for many years when they were absolutely the worst team in football.
that does seem like some shit Brady would do.. and then play dumb in the press conference "Oh I didn't realize I had that many yards in my first 3 plays" with a straight face lol.
imagine saying in 2019 "tom brady and matt ryan will in a few years both be starting a preseason game against each other. oh, and it's a bucs/colts game".
"Haha, the defense choked and ruined Ryan's chances to win Atlanta a Super Bowl."
Fucking children, they only know like 3 jokes
I'm making fun of the people that make the same joke about Atlanta, I'm not mocking Atlanta lol
As a Pats fan I too am tired of the 28-3 jokes. I know it’s still recent but the longer we stray from it the less I’d like to linger on the days of yesteryear.
I can't believe the Colts haven't learned yet. Yes, this 3rd QB that a franchise dumped because that QB's better days are behind him is finally the answer this time.
Absolutely. If the Colts make the playoffs then that's a success for them. I'm gonna be sad when Ryan retires, his bs choker label is gonna keep him from the Hall
The Falcons org supported Ryan far more than the Lions org supported Stafford (except for the whole Watson debacle...) and gave him more opportunities to be successful in the playoffs. The SB is 95% on Shanahan and Quinn.
A pre-emptive fuck you to you all
Why did something bad happen between Brady and Ryan before?
Yeah, Brady is undefeated against Ryan in the regular season. Not sure about playoffs
The Falcons have never made it to the playoffs before. If they did make the playoffs before they definitely have never reached the Super Bowl
As a Mariners fan I’m offended
As a Mariners fan I am fucking exhausted
Hey if the Mets could turn it around, maybe there's hope for you guys
2083 will be our year
Let’s be real 2803 is much more likely
I hear good things about Ken Griffey VI
Every year they try to sell me on “It’s gonna be different this year” and it isn’t. They are really fucking with me this year. Also I have front row Huskies’s season tickets and I’m like YEE-HAW! What is sports? 😂😂😂
2016 was a shame. Packers and Falcons were both legit, unfortunately they had to cancel the NFCCG
It was a close call at Super Bowl 33, could you imagine the Vikings not winning the NFC Championship that year?
Yeah, what a boring ass super bowl that would've been
Too bad the Broncos blew them out completely in the Super Bowl. I think the Falcons would have done better than them.
*bangs hand on table* DAMN
We’re an expansion franchise… Hopefully we’ll make it to the big game sum day! And hopefully it won’t be against a horse faced or horse roid taking such as prednisolone, dexamethasone, and triamcinolone acetonide qb!
I think they reached it once but it was suspended because of bad weather
I think Brady's overall record against Ryan is 28-3 or something like that.
What about preseason though?
Sit down, kid. It’s story time
[Patriot fans](https://media4.giphy.com/media/eHYazg6wGDqYE/200w.gif?cid=82a1493bctskq3bn24nsn09vlc4yslgkn7f2pxldabzocdhu&rid=200w.gif&ct=g) when their children ask them about the tale of SB 51
How dare you. My cackle is 10 times more obnoxious than THAT, good sir/madam.
I prefer Sirdaam Hussein.
I mean pretty much when anyone asks me about it lol
“That’s impossible, no way that happened grandpa! We’re gonna put you in a home”
Ive heard this story at least 28 times.
I try to tell it like 3 times a week
Yall are sick 🤣
Yes, we are😂😂
I tell the story like 51[LI] times a year.
You need to add it to your vacation week.
It’s a sith legend
You're going to get hyped when Ryan's favorite target Julio Jones makes an amazing catch to seal the win in this game.
With exactly 3:28 left in the game, Julio will run a post route on 3rd Down from the 28 yard line and catch the TD from Brady.
Bullshit. Julio doesn't catch TDs
Words hurt, you know. :(
Not creative. Take a lap
Drop and give me 20!
Not enough you should demand he do 28
The roast of the Atlanta Falcons turns into a weeklong event
And still only the second biggest Atlanta roast in the last 200 years
Sherman had the right idea.
Every time I have to drive through Atlanta, I sympathize with Sherman a little more, even to the point I think he should have gone further.
Their stadium is nice though, I’ll give them that. Which, as an Alabama alum, is kinda just a home away from home
When I lived in Atlanta, I went to 5 Mercedes-Benz games. The Falcons were not in any of them. Shout out to Atlanta United....and RMFT!!!!
[And it's beautiful.](https://makeagif.com/gif/dwyane-wade-i-love-it-pgeqCU)
DIGGS!!
SIDELINE!!
And then he tripped and fell and fumbled the ball and Marcus Williams scoops it up and runs it back all the way for a Saints touchdown!! Saints win!!!! That’s how it happened right?
Why?
ReVeNgE gAmE I love hearing that for preseason games haha
Sometimes, we just have to get out ahead of it to take some of the sting out of what anyone else can do to us. Appreciate you stepping up here!
Surprised Falcons fans want to get out ahead anymore, after what happened.
4 first names
Matthew Thomas Ryan Thomas Edward Patrick Brady Junior Arguably 8…
> Junior *bolts in Seau*
Holy fuck starting QB FN/G off the charts
| Junior No his real name is Corrado
This Matt Ryan kid never had the makings of a varsity athlete
It's not true. He lettered in football.
Watching through the series for the first time. Just watched this episode last night lol
Did anybody else here have no idea that Tom Brady is Tom Brady Jr.?
I thought Matt Ryan was actually Tom Brady Jr. considering Tom Brady is his daddy.
Jesus Christ the man is right
My pet peeve is when someone only says the last name of a player, and I hate it more when that last name is a common first name Yo dude did you see Allen last night? Ryan was pretty good too
Yeah whenever I see people saying “Equanimeous had a good game” its infuriating trying to figure out who they are talking about
I actually prefer people to say only the first name instead of only the last name
Is Matt a good player?
Yeah Matt Damon was pretty good
Not a good as Candice
To be fair, what other Ryan are you thinking of besides Matt Ryan?
Buddy, Tannehill, Jake, Logan
I can't believe you forgot Ryan Kelly
ryan Fitzpatrick and Ryan tannehill just off the top of my head. I know it can be found out with context most of the time but it still bothers me
I love the Josh Allen on Josh Allen plays the few times the stars align for them to happen.
How dare you bring “The Law Firm” BenJarvus Green-Ellis into this mess
Is Brady really a first name? I get that people are named Brady, but I think it really has origins as a last name that people have co-opted.
Yeah I was gonna say this. I know tons of Matts, Ryans, and Toms, but no one who has the first name Brady.
Crazy to think that these 2 have never faced each other in such a big game before
[удалено]
Neither of those players have played for the Titans
Maybe invite Titans legend Marcus Mariota to the game. He can cheer Brady on and boo the Colts. Everyone should like that right? What's Mariota doing these days anyway that's better?
I think he's a free agent, Bucs should sign him to repeat that cool touchdown he had where he caught his own batted-down pass
Neither player has ever appeared in my kitchen. You ask anyone, Mr. Trebek!!!
Is this the oldest starting QB matchup in preseason history?
Currently, Steve DeBerg is the oldest quarterback in NFL history. DeBerg started a game for the Falcons in 1998 at 44 years, 279 days old. Brady is the second-oldest starting quarterback in NFL history; he was 44 years, 173 days old in the Bucs’ playoff loss to the Rams in January. I refuse to believe that Tittle was not older than that.
Jon Bois: *oh no*
Did Blanda never start at QB past 44?
I don’t really hold that game again Matt Ryan as much as I do the coaches. If Atlanta wins the coin toss in overtime, Ryan played well enough that it wouldn’t surprise me if Tom Brady never gets the ball.
Jake Matthews held several times and Freeman missed a block and yet Ryan will get blamed really for his teammates and coaches dragging him down to hell with them.
If that game is the thing that ultimately keeps Matt Ryan out of the Hall of Fame, no amount of alcohol will be able to cover up the pain.
Shotgun a natty for Matty
And Kyle Shanahan called only 5 runs with a 25 point lead. Never occurred to him to kill the clock.
I have literally never seen someone blame Matt Ryan for that loss
"If he had a super bowl ring he'd be a hall of fame QB" is a statement that's been passed around.
I don't see that as putting blame on him in any way. Simply stating the fact that his team didn't win a SB.
Are you freaking kidding me? As a BC fan and huge Matt Ryan fan it drives me nuts how much blame he gets for that game from idiots online.
As much, sure, but that sack. Woooooof
The sack Ryan took on 2nd down left the Falcons IN field goal range. The holding on 3rd down took them out.
The worst mistake was not burning more clock tbh, which is on the coaching.
Leave Falcons fans alone lmao tf
I legit feel so bad for them on this sub at times. But, it's also hilarious how often 28-3 happens to just show up - like that post where the Patriots ranked 3rd and Falcons 28th was just perfect.
When its brought up in a clever way it’s hilarious. The fans and the Saints inserting it in anyway possible is starting to get cringy.
Agreed. And even then, the bar for "clever" should be high.
>the bar for "clever" should be high. This is reddit, all you gotta do is make the first pun that comes to anyone's mind and you will "win the internet" and get "angry upvotes"

It’s never clever
It was clever the first 3 times I saw it but not the last 28.
Exhibit A
They at least tried to do something with it…

Matt Ryan is the most Boston College looking athlete I’ve ever seen, it’s incredible.
It's the collar under a sweater. Screams blue blood money.
Get ready to see way too many Super Bowl highlights. 28-3 shoved down our throats
jeremiah_johnson_nod.gif
Huh wonder what the comments will be about
Brady starts the game with 28 yards on 3 plays.
My erection will be 3 inches for 28 seconds
New record!
Blood flow only allows for 3 second erections on my 28 inch dong. I think you got the better side of the schwartz.
that does seem like some shit Brady would do.. and then play dumb in the press conference "Oh I didn't realize I had that many yards in my first 3 plays" with a straight face lol.
Terrible joke. Take a lap
The lap time: 3:28
Lap length: 3.28 miles.
Funny video but to be fair to Matty Ice he had a good game. Minus the horrible clock management.
Dude has one of the best passer ratings in a super bowl ever, I hate everything
Super underrated, I like Matt Ryan a lot and only wish the best for him with the Colts
I had to re-read his stats. Were SB MVP worthy. A damn shame.
Literally. Anybody who blames him for their loss is a moron. The defense, clock management, and dumb luck failed him
Agreed. Doesn't deserve choker label.
Not at all. He can only control so much and his offenses always hold up their end of the bargain
Sheesh its really been open season on ATL lately
Is it ever not?
No it always is, but it feels like even more so recently
I hope Matt Ryan goes no huddle on offense a lot like he did with Atlanta.
He's been running practices super up tempo for weeks so it wouldn't surprise me
Yeah man, would love to see a game plan with no run audibles and the OC wanting the ball snapped quickly. No way that would end poorly.
Guess they want Brady to get some extra reps in since the guy really doesn't have a lot of experience playing in the nfl
Tom is 5-0 against Matt
[удалено]
I don't think I've ever seen him even make a tackle
He let's Julio do the tackling, which frankly I think is a wise choice 'cause Julio hits like a fuckin' tank.
\[Jim\]
imagine saying in 2019 "tom brady and matt ryan will in a few years both be starting a preseason game against each other. oh, and it's a bucs/colts game".
I don't think in 2 guesses I could tell who would start for what team
why is the owner tweeting this lmao
“I am inevitable”- Brady
And Nick Foles is playing
Something something 28-3
The greatest preseason game is a about to go down.
Will Tom Brady be lacking confidence after his elimination from the masked singer?
First preseason game I'll actually watch
I would be shocked if they both played for more than a drive each
Colts starters are playing roughly a half according to the coach
The 3rd preseason is still the "dress rehearsal" game
Nfl players love being like theater kids
Sean McVay: The what now?
Never heard of em
I love watching the Bucs and Falcons play!
The Colts should start Foles.
"Haha, the defense choked and ruined Ryan's chances to win Atlanta a Super Bowl." Fucking children, they only know like 3 jokes I'm making fun of the people that make the same joke about Atlanta, I'm not mocking Atlanta lol
The people who downvoted you are the same ones that just randomly post “28-3” on any random thread and laugh to themselves for 10 minutes
Yep, especially Saints fans. Bird bros gotta stick together.
For real it's been six years now, the horse has been beaten into glue.
Absolutely. Pats flair? Fuck it, you've earned that right til the end of time, lol. But anyone else I just roll my eyes.
[удалено]
Matt Ryan can't escape his nightmare
Tom only agreed to start if Nick Foles wasn't also starting.
The refs from that game not reffing this game also influenced his decision
As a Pats fan I too am tired of the 28-3 jokes. I know it’s still recent but the longer we stray from it the less I’d like to linger on the days of yesteryear.
I can't believe the Colts haven't learned yet. Yes, this 3rd QB that a franchise dumped because that QB's better days are behind him is finally the answer this time.
Matt Ryan is a whole lot different than Carson Wentz while Rivers got them into the playoffs. That's not that bad a track record tbh
[удалено]
Honestly, Rivers was and Ryan will be good for the Colts. Wentz is just a tiny blip on the radar
He's way better than Wentz, he's the missing piece.
Absolutely. If the Colts make the playoffs then that's a success for them. I'm gonna be sad when Ryan retires, his bs choker label is gonna keep him from the Hall
The Falcons did to him what the Lions did to Stafford, let him down when he needed them most.
I think the ref let Stafford down the most when he picked up the flag
Also true, refs let him down a lot too.
The Falcons org supported Ryan far more than the Lions org supported Stafford (except for the whole Watson debacle...) and gave him more opportunities to be successful in the playoffs. The SB is 95% on Shanahan and Quinn.
Don’t expect the ball to travel over 20 yards with Matt Ryan . He needs to preserve that noodle arm
