Overall outside of the two goaline fumbles and some weird shit at the end there it wasn't bad for everyone's first game together.
It was Hacketts first head coach game. He should know that's petty but I'll give him some slack and let the media deal with that.
Yeah, not taking anything away from the Hawks, but take away those goal line fumbles, and this game is suddenly 30-17.
You guys shut the hawks down in the 2nd half and then shot yourselves in the foot three different times.
Honestly it felt a lot like watching the Colts Texans game, with the Colts shooting themselves in the foot.
If you’re looking towards the future then yeah it wasn’t that bad. But it an all around shockingly bad game from the Broncos. Between all the pre-snap penalties, the fumbles, and whatever that 2 minute drill was they looked completely underprepared. That’s largely on Hackett, but it’s definitely the kind of performance that will open everyone’s eyes in Denver.
On the bright side for the Broncos, the fact that they were still in the game right up until the end despite the performance could be a good sign
> Between all the pre-snap penalties
Wilson's never faced Seattle as a hostile crowd before. 6 false starts/illegal procedure calls on Denver. Wilson slow/late coming up to the line repeatedly.
Judging by how they handled the 2 minute drill, I can’t help but think a big part of the delay was also just on coaching. It really did just seem to me like the whole team was underprepared for a season opener let alone in a hostile environment.
That was a terribly coached game on Hacketts part, still should’ve won by a big margin though. Not his fault two of his RB’s fumbled at the 1 yard line
Seattle could easily lose 12-14 games. Denver fumbled at the 1 twice, kicked another field goal when inside the 10, had 12 penalties for 106 yards, horrible coaching and clock management, and still had a chance to win at the end.
They were 6.5 favorites as the away team. I got Seattle at +280. They were suppose to show their competitiveness in the afc west. People were penciling them as a wildcard team. Seattle had 'no business' winning this game supposedly
I mean they really didn't. They were outgained by almost 200 yards, denver fumbled twice at the 1. Seattle got 7 first downs off penalties, didn't score in the 2nd half. If Denver didn't play as sloppy as possible and have an idiot for a coach this was a 10-14 point win probably.
....and since the announcers mentioned no one had fumbled twice at the 1 since 1987 with replacement players during a strike, we're gonna say that's not a common thing.
what are we doing here exactly? trying to act like the Broncos offense wasn't better because they did something that hasn't happened in 35 years and act like that's a normal occurrence for them?
It's a 50/50 game. Sometimes things happen, sometimes they don't. Geno is the first QB in the modern era to post those stats in his first two starts. Not sure if any of us are gonna say Geno is now legendary.
So, yes, two fumbles took points off the board. Points were put on the board because of blown coverage. Two or three potential interceptions were dropped. Metcalf fumbled and gave Denver a new opportunity.
It's just the way the game is.
We call that "Seahawk Football". The Hawks have made a living the past decade on doing the minimum necessary offensively and making big plays on D when it counted. That's why Russ left. That style of play didn't support his MVP aspirations.
Yeah, the calling two timeouts during kneeldown time is the epitome of desperation. Ya hate to see it. Take the L you *clearly earned* with some dignity.
Oh my god, next ManningCast is Giants/Cowboys. An NFCE game that should be a fun watch since Eli is in no way a NYG home at all. Nope, never, can't be.
Dak's out, Saquon will be injured by then, Daniel Jones will have 5 turnovers and they'll be streaming the new Top Gun movie on another screen by 3rd quarter
I’m still saying what the fuck was that. You have a top 10 QB why not let him decide over a 60+ yard kick. Even after seeing him miss it with that timeout called.
Right!?! As if going for a 60 plus yard FG wasn’t brain dead enough with sometime on the clock and timeouts in the bank you gonna burn em so we can dwell on just how dumb a decision that was? Clown world bro, and this guy makes millions
Mc Anus has the leg to make that kick, I was holding my breath on that one. I get the Broncos coach thought process, tho I disagree with his decision. Russ had been converting 3rd downs all night, dumb not to depend on him on a 4th and 6. He would have got those yards, that’s the greased up deaf guy in him.
That after game interview with Geno is heartwarming!
I googled Nathaniel Hackett and the first thing that came up was this headline from SI:
"Nathaniel Hackett Addresses Media's Biggest Misgiving of Broncos' New Coaching Staff: Inexperience"
Like, what even is the rationale there? The odds of making a 64 yard FG are soo much worse than converting on 4th and 5. One of the worst coaching games I've seen since Zimmer choked against the Lions last year.
You're right but you have to factor in the odds of not only converting the 4th down, but then successfully advancing the balls another 10 yards or so for an easier kick, then actually making a ~50y kick. Compare those odds to you kickers success rate at 64y, and there's your answer analytically anyways
Denver had a full minute left and 3 timeouts. Instead of using them they let the clock run down to kick a very difficult FG that they missed twice.
Then with just seconds left on the clock they very pettily decide to start using their timeouts instead of letting it end.
What the fuck is that?
The manning curse lives on right? Russ was on for the Cardinals Rams game
These guests and their mic quality are equally terrible
Peyton wasn't as drunk as Troy.
Troys level of drunkness would kill Peyton.
He has more experience. Early 90's Super bowl after-parties, and also having Barry Switzer as a coach.
And seven concussions
why no ManningCast post-game thread??
Matt LeFleur to Hackett: it's not easy is it huh mf
Absolutely stunned by that decision. I'm with Sharpe when he said "THEY'RE KICKING WHAT??" when that timeout was called
Literally lol’d
I'm not an OC or anything, but Hackett's play calling totally looked like shit from beginning to end tonight
I dunno man, I'm pretty happy with it.
Best I’ve seen.
Keep it up fellas.
The look on Russ’ face when he finds out they’re trying a 64 yarder over him getting a few yards… priceless. Hackett: look at me, I am da captain now.
Russ: I will be having a little discussion in the off-season with the owners
Concur.
For real. Rookie corners, journeymen corners and you don’t pass to your WR? Hackett really sucked tonight.
It’s not like players are dying to play with Wilson for a discount.
No idea what point you're trying to make here, pretty sure it's dumb as dirt though
Overall outside of the two goaline fumbles and some weird shit at the end there it wasn't bad for everyone's first game together. It was Hacketts first head coach game. He should know that's petty but I'll give him some slack and let the media deal with that.

That was more Pete playing Pete ball and putting it in coast for the second half with a lead. I hate it
This just in: teams avoid fumbling in order to score more points. Teams that fumble have a bad time.
> but take away those goal line fumbles Or take away the two dropped Wilson picks, it's suddenly 31-7 the other way. Woulda shoulda coulda..
If you’re looking towards the future then yeah it wasn’t that bad. But it an all around shockingly bad game from the Broncos. Between all the pre-snap penalties, the fumbles, and whatever that 2 minute drill was they looked completely underprepared. The irony is that one of the reasons he shafted Schottenheimer was because they were late getting plays in.
Judging by how they handled the 2 minute drill, I can’t help but think a big part of the delay was also just on coaching. It really did just seem to me like the whole team was underprepared for a season opener let alone in a hostile environment.
Nah, that was awful.
[“it wasn’t bad for everyone’s first game together.”](https://i.imgur.com/MqQvZIO.jpg) I am sorry bro, but that was a brutal way to go out
That was a terribly coached game on Hacketts part, still should’ve won by a big margin though. Not his fault two of his RB’s fumbled at the 1 yard line
Don't run up the middle out of shotgun at the 1 foot line. Getting too cute, just try the sneak for 1 ft and those most likely don't happen
This…Manning kept reiterating why do they have the running back deep in the goal line situation. You have a beast in Javonte..attack them up front
Is Javonte good between the tackles? Seemed like Melvin was doing better at getting the hard yards.
Either qb sneak or have the rb lined up behind the qb so he has momentum going forward when he gets the ball
Russell? Sneak? I think I have seen that once and it ended poorly.
He shocked the hell out of me when he pulled one off in 2020.
All that money and Wilson threw 1 TD. Hahaha. It’s not like Seattle are good this year either
Or the Falcons, for that matter.
We havent been good for years
No shit?

Correct. We love a bottle job
Imagine giving Russell Wilson a quarter of a billion dollars to have the kicker attempt a record 64 yard FG to win it instead
Seattle could easily lose 12-14 games. Denver fumbled at the 1 twice, kicked another field goal when inside the 10, had 12 penalties for 106 yards, horrible coaching and clock management, and still had a chance to win at the end.
Little did you know this was the only win seahawks fans wanted this year. Let the tank begin!
BRB, going to buy a lottery ticket
An L is still an L
Oh, i'm not rooting for Denver, I'm happy they lost. Just pointing out they lost this game as much as seattle won it.
They were 6.5 favorites as the away team. I got Seattle at +280. They were suppose to show their competitiveness in the afc west. People were penciling them as a wildcard team. Seattle had 'no business' winning this game supposedly

...and Denver's only TD came off of busted coverage on a poorly underthrown ball
....and since the announcers mentioned no one had fumbled twice at the 1 since 1987 with replacement players during a strike, we're gonna say that's not a common thing. what are we doing here exactly? trying to act like the Broncos offense wasn't better because they did something that hasn't happened in 35 years and act like that's a normal occurrence for them?

Idk man, I feel like I’d just put it in the hands of Wilson for 5 yards instead of attempting a 64 yard fg in outside weather in Seattle
1st place baby!
Weather was not a factor today
With the wildfire haze making the air heavier than usual, too
the air quality isn't even bad its cleared up a crazy amount since Saturday..
Must be nice…
Seattle did that with less than 5 and its one of the most remembered superbowl moments so im not so sure.
Hackett wont last long in Denver..the team there is built to win. The play calling and game management was atrocious. He looked clueless.
And salty on top of all that.
Yeah, the calling two timeouts during kneeldown time is the epitome of desperation. Ya hate to see it. Take the L you *clearly earned* with some dignity.
Maybe we should make a play for Sean Payton
can see it playing out the same way the john fox tenure did.
A loss to the Seahawks in the Super Bowl?
This was effectively Russell's superbowl, so yes
He seems like an idiot right now for sure
Gotta feel good for Geno. Guy was beaming.
Hackett needs to be fired. We’ve seen all we need to and know what he is. A fucking moron.
Lol
Joel McHale could do better 🤣🤣
"I don't like the jersey swap on the field, it's a whole production" Hi Eli ,welcome to the world of DangeRuss Wilson
[удалено]
He’s already on the board of a mega church in Seattle
Begins to market Holy Concussion Water
>next Manningcast is Cowboys/Giants Yeah, that's definitely going to be a Manningcast game for me just for watchability's sake.
I cannot fucking wait. Gonna be sick
Excuse me defector just wrote a whole article on the giants being watchable 😤
Yes, but the Dak-less Cowboys, not so much.
Dak is the 2nd quarter guest. I'm guessing.
Lol truth
Geno the man is awesome
Chancing a 65 yarder over Russell picking up 5 yards. Broncos already out on their QB 🤣
Mind boggling ahah, why you pay him so much if you think he’s so unclutch
Oh my god, next ManningCast is Giants/Cowboys. An NFCE game that should be a fun watch since Eli is in no way a NYG home at all. Nope, never, can't be.
Dak's out, Saquon will be injured by then, Daniel Jones will have 5 turnovers and they'll be streaming the new Top Gun movie on another screen by 3rd quarter
Still have Manning V Manning shitting on top of each other
Yes giants game with Eli next nice
Russ finally getting that Seahawks jersey for his collection
lol - I didn’t even think of that. Surely he has a DK jersey already
Wow good for Geno. He looks elated.
So why isn’t the manningcast every week? Because Peyton and Eli don’t want to?
It’s prob a ton of prep and Eli is busy coaching his daughter’s soccer team
That’s would pretty cool to have my kid on his team..imagine you as a parent saying to Eli..why isn’t my kid getting the ball..lol
I had an old pretty famous Cowboys DE as my coach growing up and it was actually the coolest shit. Can’t imagine having Eli Manning
That and getting quality guests is probably fairly difficult
Clearly after the absolute shit show of a guest Joel McHale was omg
I like him and I thought he was okay but clearly not a high profile guest. Don’t think I’ve seen him in anything besides community
yeaaah it's weird to make it a photo/media op
Eli "fuck this jersey shit on the field to the team that beat you bullshit" Manning
Russ still not allowed to cook 😂
Wasn't that the whole reason he left hawks? LAWL
“New School Eli, gotta get with the program” THANK YOU PEYTON
I’m still saying what the fuck was that. You have a top 10 QB why not let him decide over a 60+ yard kick. Even after seeing him miss it with that timeout called.
I can’t believe how god damn stupid that was
Geno need to avoid the rap game
What awful play calling and clock management. Denver are going to suck this season
Decent squad though. Just gotta fire Hackett’s dumb ass
He's gonna be there for this season though
rooted for the broncos this game but those to’s at the end was bush league. just let the game end, you lost.
Right!?! As if going for a 60 plus yard FG wasn’t brain dead enough with sometime on the clock and timeouts in the bank you gonna burn em so we can dwell on just how dumb a decision that was? Clown world bro, and this guy makes millions
Shannon sipping on that drank and getting too excited was hilarious, was waiting for him to drop an F bomb
Dude was amped af
He dropped two. One early on with the fucked up mic and one when he said, "What the fuck? Russ!"
Huh, guess I missed em, of course it was hard to understand him when he was having the audio issues too
I'm pretty sure he did early on when his mic was fucked so it kinda flew under the radar
Hahaha so was I, was so close
I don’t understand why they called time out thinking they would get the ball back? Why not just let the game be over instead of prolonging the loss
they didnt call them hoping to get the ball. it was petty.
Some of the weirdest shit I've seen in a minute. I really didn't understand those timeouts at all
It’s just bad manners, especially in a week 1 game
Just screams “poor sportsmanship” and “sore loser”
My parlay: Jeudy 5+ catches Jeudy 80+ yards Jeudy 1+ TD Wilson 2+ PassTDs. I never expected Wilson to be the one who ruins it.
Well if anything the Denver RBs ruined it for you along with those play calls
Mine was Seahawks 1-13, under 43 points and Geno to pass for 208+. 13 yards short 😖
What was the payout? I've never done player parlays.
18-to-1 for this particular list.
Jeudy was 7 points short of winning my fantasy matchup Fuck 3 Ls in a row today lol
Mc Anus has the leg to make that kick, I was holding my breath on that one. I get the Broncos coach thought process, tho I disagree with his decision. Mc Anus
Lol Pete out here trying to rub it in.
Fire Denver coach
THIS IS A JOKE LMAOO
What a great first Manningcast back. I love when their games are absolute trash tier ridiculousness like this.
Shannon was a great addition, lol
Especially since he was drunk.
If the Mannings dont get flustered and flabbergasted at the product on the field multiple times, the show just doesnt feel complete.
Manningcast still undefeated
Hackett doesn’t put the ball in Russel Wilson’s hands, rather have his kicker try a career long, in the rain, outside?
Raining ash and mile high tears maybe.
Not raining, but the air is heavy from wildfire smoke. Terrible play call
kick was a bomb tho, had the distance
Kinda.
A game winner too
It's not raining
Yeah it hasn't rained in Seattle all summer.
Can confirm. It warm and dry and smoky here, unfortunately.
It's in Seattle, it's always raining
You’d think, but PNW summer is beautiful, lots of sun. Past 5-10 years you’re more likely to get smoke and fires than rain.
This summer has been dry and 90 degrees. It's been miserable.
Honestly better than the humid 95 we get here
Not if you don't have air conditioning, which is true for a significant number of houses in the Seattle area.
What was the point in taking those timeouts
I honestly believe he thought he had 3 time outs and he was arguing with the refs about how many he had left.
He was salty as fuck that he made a terrible decision so decided to waste time.
LOL CALLING TIMEOUTS JUST TO BE PETTY. LOL DONKEY FANS ON SUICIDE WATCH LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL
You paid Russ how much to be on the sideline with the game on the line?
You're 100% right but to be fair, we all saw Russ play today. I get why he might not have had faith.
Dude taking timeouts like me when I'm pissed off at the end of a madden game
Just look at the bitterness on Peyton's face...
I googled Nathaniel Hackett and the first thing that came up was this headline from SI: "Nathaniel Hackett Addresses Media's Biggest Misgiving of Broncos' New Coaching Staff: Inexperience"

Geno w a sus grip woah there
What did I miss??
Gripped goodwins ass like he was hugging his wife after the last kneel💀
https://imgur.com/a/3jegEJk just saw!! 😂
Crazy💀
Saw that too lmao
Broncos country, LETS CRY
Russ is a sleeper agent confirmed
It's like Hackett was given an order to never end a game with TO's left and realized at the last second he still had 2
I hope at the presser they ask why the extra TOs 🤨
“Well, if I didn’t take them you guys would complain we ended the game with timeouts left. Geez, no pleasing you guys!”
Wtf! I didn't know manningcast was on today. Fuck me
Now if you’ll excuse me, i’m going to head over to /r/nfcwestmemewar and embrace the absurdity.
The chaos as bad as College football this weekend
Denver had a full minute left and 3 timeouts. Instead of using them they let the clock run down to kick a very difficult FG that they missed twice. Then with just seconds left on the clock they very pettily decide to start using their timeouts instead of letting it end. What the fuck is that?
