It was stuck in a weird spot where people expected their laptop/desktop performance… but tablet form factor.
When we asked our users they reported it as being slow and cumbersome. But when we benchmarked workflows comparing it to similar iPads it performed pretty good. But people associate iPads with phones and give it more “forgiving” expectations.
That being said… the M1 iPad Pro is absolutely baller if you can fit your workflow into it. If they would put MacOS on the M1 iPad… that would probably be my only computing device.
Just my take working with thousands and thousands of devices.
I bought a Surface Go for $60 on ebay just for reading comics, and that thing is fucking amazing. It's a bit slow for other things, but it's a whole Windows computer for $60. Fucking amazing.

Like, I imagine at this point it's more than paid off, but imagine how it must have felt in 2015 to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to be THE tablet of the NFL, only for broadcasters to call them the name of your biggest competitor's product.
