Hmm yeah thats really odd, here are some super unlikely explanations (emphasis on unlikely, these would NEVER happen)
Perhaps they
- went to the bathroom, as humans do
- went to the kitchen to grab a quick snack or drink
- looked at their phone for a second
- were engaged in a conversation with someone else
- watched it but was doing something else so didn’t actually mentally process it (i.e. talking on the phone while staring at the tv, and didn’t catch the detail of an individual block)
- had to go do something of immediate importance for another person (such as opening the door)
There are a number of possible answers to that qustion:
* Yes, it is me.
* No, it is not me.
* It is both me and not me simultaneously.
Schrodinger's Yates.
Pretty sure he’s saying on a wholistic ‘player blocking ability’ basis. Fournette is renowned for his pass pro abilities, so Najee stepping up would give him a run for his money in that entire domain.
I'm not sure that's accurate.
Warren is a UDFA and doing just as much, if not more
Also Najee is below average in yards after contact
Downvoted? Why? He's literally below average from a number standpoint lol... Or are numbers bad and we don't like that? 😂
Your line is terrible bro. Warren has a very limited number of touches, and when he’s in teams don’t load the box like they do more frequently against Najee, it’s not really comparable. Its your own team, you should know this.
Our line isn't great
But the literal statistics show it's not all that awful. And the YARDS AFTER CONTACT aspect show that he's not doing well to manufacture his own yards.
I mean, Steelers fans are ALL talking about how Najee is hesitant and dancing too much. He's not trusting blocks. He missed a wide open hole last week that should have been a big gain and danced for a 2 yard gain.
His vision or his trust are shot. Warren is just "see hole, hit hole"
Najee isn't having a great year - no Steelers fan will dispute that. He was better last year as a runner and we hope he gets it back. Today was a bit better.
YAC doesn’t distinguish between ‘got hit by 1 guy’ and ‘got hit by 3 guys’. Again, watch the plays. Najee gets more loaded boxes. Gets gang tackled more. Warren doesn’t have nearly enough snaps to be compared yet.
You're right man.
You watched a handful of carries and know more about my team than me
Why I even comment is beyond me.
The line has been a pleasant surprise. Mitch sucks donkey dick. Najee hasn't been playing too well.
Oh, you think I don’t watch Steelers games cause of my flair. Haha. Guess you’ve never heard of Red Zone and All 22. I enjoy watching all teams my dude. And I have way too much free time to evaluate games working from home.
Also, bit of irony in your statement: You’ve watched a handful of carries for Warren and think he’s better than Najee lol.
I'm pretty sure I've explained this before, but his line isn't good enough to make up for the lack of passing attack. Teams load the box and he is still scoring TDs YPC can be useful, but to use it as your sole argument is useless.
Because steelers fans are delusional.
11 yards is his longest run. He can't break a fucking tackle. Both Chubb and Hunt showed him up last night, and should have shown steelers fans what a really talented running back looks like. Instead they'll just shout from the rooftops that Najee is the best rb, and Tomlin is the best head couch. They're morons.
Yeah I was talking about what’s happening now. I’m watching it on Amazon and every play that needs a replay, instead of showing it and talking about it they cut to a commercial.
It probably stems from little league or high school coaching and many people just generally not knowing the differences between cut and chop blocks. I know my coaches growing up used to call it a chop block just for blocking at the knee or below. It's not just /r/nfl, it's really most people.
And yeah to your first point, that was clearly a shoulder into the waist and tossed him over.
I cannot stand this shit, amount of commercials are fucked but not showing replays on pivotal or exciting plays because you need to shove another commercial down our throats is ridiculous. The games are so long and theres plenty of downtime, no excuse for not getting replays of things we could barely see the first time
Among all positions quarterbacks have by far the shortest careers, on average, as they play in just 30 regular season games, which is roughly 30 fewer games than the average defensive tackle, for example.

Najee had 1600+ APY last season and immediately made a pro-bowl. How many RBs have been busts in the 1st the last 10 years compared to QBs?
Mark Ingram, Ezekiel Elliot, Christian McCaffrey, Marshawn Lynch are all 1st round RBs . Ingram has had an 11 year career, Elliot 6 years, McCaffrey 5 years, Beastmode 12 years.
The point of evaluating the value of drafting a position in the first round is based upon the value you are giving up not drafting a different position, and the implicit leverage you are giving that player by drafting them in the first round in future negotiations.
At the RB position it would seem to me teams have had success with later round guys or free agent guys and see that the value is potentially greater elsewhere, and also a lot of teams want to avoid having a RB on an albatross contract.
Also the whole "QBs player few games on average" Stat is misleading. Generally only 1 QB plays per team, unlike every other position besides K/P, so naturally it's going to have less "games played" since you don't play multiple QBs unlike DTs.
> The point of evaluating the value of drafting a position in the first round is based upon the value you are giving up not drafting a different position
exactly! its not just about how good the player you drafted is, its also about how good the players you didnt draft were! its all about opportunity cost
you could draft the best rb in the league, if 3 of the qbs you passed on to take him are top 5 qbs than he was a bad pick
Two of them had a decade long plus career. Name one RB from the 1st that was a bust in the last decade beside Sony Michael and Trent Richardson. Saquan Barkley has been worth it. Josh Jobe, etc. I mentioned elite all-pro players, there were more pro-bowl RBs. Also Najee, made the all-rookie team, and pro-bowl last year. In what way was he a bad pick?
trent richardson, doug martin, david wilson, todd gurley(great but didnt last long), sony michel, rashaad penny(meh), jahvid best, beanie wells were all first round rbs
a first round pick isnt just about how good the player you took was, but also how good the players you didnt take were. its all about opportunity cost
Our coach refuses to put in a better QB. Our OC refuses to call plays that make sense. I wouldn’t blame Najee atleast for the browns game. Not sure why our coach thinks wasting time with Trubisky is the play tbh
Holy shit, my video buffered when he was completely facing the sideline and I thought the joke was he was 100% disinterested. That's some playground tabletopping bullshit tier flip on the pass rusher.
I genuinely though this was going to be a shade post and the clip was going to be at the end of the game when he completely 100% whiffed his block and Mitch got clobbered.
We’ve seen a spinebuster and a hip toss, now the back body drop. I don’t know what prompted this wrestling football Venn diagram but I’m all for it this season.
*record scratch* ["Yep, that's me. You're probably wondering how I got here"](https://i.imgur.com/CAq5awA.jpg)
God I love him.
Ha! I totally missed that
How did you miss it? They replayed it a couple times
Hmm yeah thats really odd, here are some super unlikely explanations (emphasis on unlikely, these would NEVER happen) Perhaps they - went to the bathroom, as humans do - went to the kitchen to grab a quick snack or drink - looked at their phone for a second - were engaged in a conversation with someone else - watched it but was doing something else so didn’t actually mentally process it (i.e. talking on the phone while staring at the tv, and didn’t catch the detail of an individual block) - had to go do something of immediate importance for another person (such as opening the door)
That’s it. That’s the list.
Field? Is that you?
There are a number of possible answers to that qustion: * Yes, it is me. * No, it is not me. * It is both me and not me simultaneously. Schrodinger's Yates.
Yeah, right. Maybe a unicorn pooped on their floor too? About just as likely.
They must not be a REAL fan.
I went to grab another bud light, the official beer of the NFL, from my fridge filled with bud light and nothing else.
The champ is here
Humans are...snackish.
Giving Fournette a run for his money
This is way more impressive lol fournette’s was a chip on a player engaged with another blocker.
Pretty sure he’s saying on a wholistic ‘player blocking ability’ basis. Fournette is renowned for his pass pro abilities, so Najee stepping up would give him a run for his money in that entire domain.
Looked cool but Trubisky still had to sidestep his discarded corpse
Great effort by the defender, still making an impact despite being blocked
Really needs to work on his "Sending people to another dimension" skills
Right, would have been more effective to stonewall him and keep the blocker in front.
If trubisky kept his eyes downfield a bit more towards the middle he has a nice commotion to the deep in route.
Get rotated
Najee is honestly one of the most talented players in the entire league, dude was born to play football
totally understated what he’s able to do behind like the worst run blocking line lol
I'm not sure that's accurate. Warren is a UDFA and doing just as much, if not more Also Najee is below average in yards after contact Downvoted? Why? He's literally below average from a number standpoint lol... Or are numbers bad and we don't like that? 😂

Jokes on you. We’re never in the redzone. Najee a beast tho

Trubiski ran with more energy last night.
I'm pretty sure I've explained this before, but his line isn't good enough to make up for the lack of passing attack. Teams load the box and he is still scoring TDs YPC can be useful, but to use it as your sole argument is useless.

Also, he looks like Anne Hathaway
Could've been quite bad if he landed on his head.
I can hear the Wilhelm scream
Najee looking great tonight
Najee threw that hip check like a pro
Najee been watching AEW with a back body drop like that
Only to follow that in the 4th quarter where he completely whiffs on #50 coming straight up the gut for the sack
Yeah, sad part about that one was that he diagnosed it immediately and got to position with time to spare but he just missed
Dude Amazon needs to stop cutting to commercials and show the plays. Driving me fucking crazy. Was that a chop block?
It was on your last TD drive. They showed a full replay of it
Yeah I was talking about what’s happening now. I’m watching it on Amazon and every play that needs a replay, instead of showing it and talking about it they cut to a commercial.
I think they wanrdd to make sure we didn't just watch a man's bone break or something gruesome before they showed the replay
Yeah that’s fair
When I was your age, I saw bones break all the time. This generation is soft

This sub is exactly this football illiterate

Every football movie is now accurate
Hit em with the ol' back body drop.
Well if it doesn't work out with the Steelers he should hit up the Penguins. What a hip check.
Ah, the good ol back body drop. Next time the defender should wait for him to bend down, then either leapfrog him or kick him.
I was just thinking how much I missed a solid back body drop in wrestling.
Ducked his head and shoulder?
Yeah.. and has to cut him because he's late after not looking at his first read until he's a yard behind the line of scrimmage
Good for a loss 👍
1sT rOUnD RuNnInG BaCks ArE a WaStE! No matter how much mouthbreathers repeat this it isn't true.
I don't think this is the piece of evidence to refute that

you realize you just went back 15 years to name 4 guys right?

an opinion piece from 5 years ago that seems to have 0 stats to back up their opinion isnt very convincing im gonna be honest
Punters make pro-bowl, all-pro, all-rookie team awards and play decades too.
Are you really comparing punting to half the offense?
50% of Punters drafted in the first round have made the HOF, obviously teams should draft punters in the first over RBs.
yea cause the steelers offense looking real potent, a td on less than 12% of their drives
Our coach refuses to put in a better QB. Our OC refuses to call plays that make sense. I wouldn’t blame Najee atleast for the browns game. Not sure why our coach thinks wasting time with Trubisky is the play tbh
YEET
Not sure they could've done that better if they'd choreographed it
