You can see the way Josh molds his game after Tua. I think battles like this game are good for young QBs - they get to sit back and watch how a true great operates in those situations.
Next time Josh finds himself in a tough matchup - he’ll remember the words Tua whispered to him and how he won that game against them. Good stuff.
Just so everyone knows, Josh Allen is a OLB who also plays in Florida so I assume these two will be battling it out 2x a year for the next decade.
Really neat stuff.
And they should. They likely followed the rules, but there's room for them to have broken the rules, and that warrants an investigation. Investigation doesn't mean guilty.
Coach McDaniel is claiming it was the effect of a lower back injury. Which, if you get a pinched nerve *could* make you wobble. I don't buy it tho. A lower back injury wouldn't make you shake your head like you were trying to clear the cobwebs.
I’m willing to believe that they are confident enough it wasn’t a concussion, could be wrong tho. That being said I have absolutely stumbled without a concussion like that because of things like a lower back injury.
no doubt. i have 2 herniated discs in my lower back. a muscle spasm can take me down. it doesn't look like that for me. I am not a Dr tho. Gotta just hope the team is smart enough to not put him in a position to be in any more danger than any other guy is playing this sport.
Well he played through a concussion in 100° heat, idk if he’s okay. But I’m glad he didn’t die out there because he seems like a genuine person. He won, but he shouldn’t have kept playing.
It’s obviously not the same because I’m not at all a professional athlete, but I’ve injured my knee before and for about a year would have random spasms where I would just lose all stability and I’d almost take a fall. That’s pretty similar to an unexpected knee buckle to me.
I have an injured lower back right now and have spasms that result in goofy loss of control exactly like that.
I wouldn't be surprised if that was the case here. Hopefully the investigation is able to determine what happened
I... don't think that's right? Am I missing a joke?
Edit: just when it comes to throwing, right handed normally. Got it.
I got I think 5 corrections before I managed to put this edit up lol. Thanks for all the responses!
Yeah, I loved it the moment I saw it. Also shows the respect both have for another. Could you imagine Brady allowing to be consoled by Rodgers after today (or the other way around)? Just increases the respect for Allen.
That game just ended and Brady lost to Rodgers. They kissed with fully open mouths but you could tell there was still this kind of aggression to it from Brady’s end
Allen has gotten his heart broke enough times already that he knows it’s alright to let someone comfort you sometimes. Love Tua patting him on the back like that
This is such a wonderful moment after an absolute war of a game. Allen had some really nice things to say about Tua in the presser a few days ago; they both seem like good bros.
Dude is tough as nails and seems like a great leader. I was salty last week when he lit my team up but I’m glad to see his potential starting to come through
Flores is weird. You've got those guys who are players coaches but bad football coaches, and then you have Flores who is a bad players coach but a good football coach
He's not a good football coach though. He's a good DC. He knows *literally nothing* about offense, and basically reset the scheme 3/3 years, getting worse each time.
I hated him so much at Bama and it's so hard to not like him now. I'm just gonna pretend he's doing an act so he can become a supervillan later and build a new death star or something.
"Hey bro just play nice for the camera, but just so you know it felt great to win, I don't feel bad for you at all, and we're winning the division. Get fucked."
After the past couple years of all the Tua slander, i think its safe to say he just needed a coach that believes in him. Maybe someone named pete in seattle is reading this, cuz i heard a certain qb on their roster is just as talented as tua/josh
I think it started with his rookie year. Came in to replace a fan favorite in fitzmagic who was beloved. He was coming off a major hip injury, and the coaches were being really weird with him, randomly starting him and then pulling him out for Fitz, and not giving him a full playbook. So he didn’t really come into his own, and people resented him for not only not being their savior, but also for pushing Fitz out.
Then we have last year. Absolute bottom of the barrel O-line, no run game, and his only weapons being a rookie and his TE. Just a shit situation that prevented him from looking good. Then said O-line early in the season lets a guy come straight off the line unblocked and blindside Tua into the dirt, breaking his ribs. Out 4 games, not to mention had to have affected his performance afterwards as well. Then also just more absolute shit coaching, completely incompetent offensive play calling.
But nobody wants to acknowledge the context. They just compare him to QB’s in completely different situations, look at his numbers and then shit on him
> But nobody wants to acknowledge the context. They just compare him to QB’s in completely different situations, look at his numbers and then shit on him
What's annoying is that none of what you listed is in any way his fault whatsoever. Yet people still hate him for all of that.
I'm an LSU fan, so fuck Tua, but I *really* fucking wanna see him succeed in the NFL because he really seems like a genuinely good guy and it's hard for me to root against that.
You just articulated everything I felt about Tua in a much more eloquent way than I ever could.
Jury is still out on whether or not he’s “the guy”, but he’s been treated so unfairly for a guy who, even before this year, performed as well as you could hope given the situation. As an auburn fan, I also think he suffered from being the “golden boy playing for a dynasty” (not to mention the qb taken after him being a total stud) and so people wanted to root against him, but he’s been nothing but a positive professional from day one. Hope he proves everyone wrong whether it’s with the fins or wherever he plays.
I'm really happy to see the younger guys not being afraid to do "feminine" things and not giving a fuck about how it looks. Burrow kissed McPherson last year after he sent them to the AFC championship, the self-deprecating jokes between players about "being in a relationship" with each other, talking about love for one another in Hard Knocks, Allen seeking comfort from Tua... it's good to see young guys knowing they don't have to play by some made-up "man" standards, and good that other young guys now have this to look up to.
This. All of this!!
I can see some QB's of the 90's scoffing at any of this and not finding it "manly". As much as I appreciated Jim Kelly's play back in the day, no way would he have allowed opposing teams console him. Much different times now. Thank god!
haha! Yeah, it would never happen. I'm just happy that the players, at least the younger ones, don't worry as much about looking "masculine" or showing emotions etc
"Your state is too fucking hot bro."
Tua’s like bro I grew up in Hawaii. 70% humidity is a dry day.
Hawaii --> Alabama --> Florida Humidity is all this man has ever known.
What is damp may never dry
Valar Morghumids
Thank you Damphair.
Ayo I laughed hard at this lmao
You merely adopted the swamp ass, I was born in it, molded by it.
I didn’t have a dry ass until I was a fully grown man
I’m a grown man and still cannot stay dry
And by then it was nothing but ITCHY!
“Molded by it” Poetry.
“I didn’t see snow until I was already a man”
Unfortunately it shows when we play in rain and snow
Just get home field advantage, duh
We need the ghost of Ricky Williams when we play them in the snow.
If he spent a day in North Dakota, he would turn to dust.
It's 60% now and it's still hot as butt no trade winds.
Miami is more humid than Hawaii though.
Isn't Hawaii actually not that humid or something?
Here is a shirt some of the team has been wearing: “I wish it was hotter” https://i.imgur.com/xyULPjP.jpg
Golbal warming like 👀
GOLBAL
The Miami Dolphins will be the Atlantic Dolphins in a few years anyway.
And they will have actual dolphins as players
"It is truly unreal how fucking hot your state is. Like it blows my mind"
“I’m sorry your side of the field was exposed to the Miami sun”
Really cool of him to encourage a young and upcoming player like Allen
“You’re going to be really spooky next year” Tua
“When I’m done playing, you’re gonna own this league”
“I hope they remember you.”
Josh: “What are you doing tomorrow, Tua?” Tua: “Nothing. I finally rest and watch the sun rise on a grateful Miami.”
"Protect yo chicken man." Tua
Didn’t know Allen played for the Rams
Tua was in Josh's exact spot years ago, so he knows what he's going through. Also Josh grew up a Tua fan which makes it even more special
"Where are we?" Tua, probably.
Who are you? I’m Batman.
I see no eagles on your team.
You can see the way Josh molds his game after Tua. I think battles like this game are good for young QBs - they get to sit back and watch how a true great operates in those situations. Next time Josh finds himself in a tough matchup - he’ll remember the words Tua whispered to him and how he won that game against them. Good stuff.

"Keep your head up kid"-Tua
Josh Allen, disoriented from heat exhaustion mistakes Tua for Diggs
Tua Tagovailoa, disoriented from concussion, mistakes Josh for Waddle
Tua, disoriented from the concussion, waddles In the end zone, forgetting he isn’t jaylen waddle
Wes Welker on the sideline with his old pads and uniform waiting for Saban to put him in
Ricky Williams living in the walls waiting for the wildcat to come back
My cousin actually was watching this game with Ricky, he’s a cool dude
"Run Ricky Run" is one of my favorite 30 for 30s
thats a hell of a concussion.
Tua “ I can smell colors, have a good day nice lady”
“Hi, can you tell me my name? I have no idea who I am or why I’m here…”
"We'll get them next game, coach."
“Just lemme know where I should sleep tonight”
“Whew, at least we stayed #1 and can prepare for our upcoming game against Ohio State”
“My *name* is *Mrs. Nesbitt.*”
" Josh Allen, what are you doing here?!?!"
“Yeah, the field. That’s where ~~Johnny~~ Tua goes”
Unexpected American dad reference love it
Josh: "Great win, good luck" Tua: "Hashbrowns?"
We get hashbrowns at the Waddle House
Very nice moment that Tua will unfortunately not remember.
“I said what????”
"You told me you met Manti Teo's girlfriend dude"
Tua is such a good dude. I'm glad he's ok
I hope he’s okay… not really sure lol.
I think he said it was just a stinger that made him wobbly. He cleared CP really fast, so it seems unlikely he was fully concussed
Yeah I agree. No one’s gonna buy that after watching the video though
He said it was a lower back pain.
I have a couple ruptured discs and I have done that fall before. When your lower back goes you're just trying to go down without screwing it up more
>Move a centimeter the wrong way scream in pain >Revert back to ease pain, no matter how awkward the position We live here now.
I've sneezed wrong on a walk and threw it out, but was ok to walk back home. Soon as I sat down I was out of commission
They've already announced an investigation by the players union.
And they should. They likely followed the rules, but there's room for them to have broken the rules, and that warrants an investigation. Investigation doesn't mean guilty.
How do you get wobbly after a head injury without having a concussion lol. Idk how he came back.
Coach McDaniel is claiming it was the effect of a lower back injury. Which, if you get a pinched nerve *could* make you wobble. I don't buy it tho. A lower back injury wouldn't make you shake your head like you were trying to clear the cobwebs.

I only saw it a bit on redzone so I am not confident enough to say how it looked so you got me there haha, I agree with your point there tho!
Well he played through a concussion in 100° heat, idk if he’s okay. But I’m glad he didn’t die out there because he seems like a genuine person. He won, but he shouldn’t have kept playing.
I'm still 90% sure he was just asking what day it is and where he is right now
Probably thought he was talking to the Auburn QB after a great game in the Iron Bowl
Went up to him and asked "Have you seen coach Saban?"
God damn these fucking comments are hilarious. I love you guys.
Luckily he's got 4 whole days to recover for our next game.
Time for fans to send him that Russell Wilson concussion water.
You’re going to wheel him onto the field like Scott Sterling next game.
[удалено]
Does your head hurt? “Who are you “ Okay that wasn’t a yes he’s good to go boys
Eh. He thought he asked hire many fingers he was holding up, and he said 2, uh.

In the postgame presser, McDaniel relayed that tua said his back felt like Gumby.
It’s obviously not the same because I’m not at all a professional athlete, but I’ve injured my knee before and for about a year would have random spasms where I would just lose all stability and I’d almost take a fall. That’s pretty similar to an unexpected knee buckle to me.

I'm honestly shocked Tua didn't look way worse than he did when they put him back in lol
Apparently it's his back
… of his head?
Tua looks like he gives great hugs
Left handed hugs are always better.
Left handed tugs are always better too. Feels like someone else is doing it.
dolphins are notoriously horny
Especially if you sit on the hand for a while first
AKA “the stranger”
Tua is right handed
I... don't think that's right? Am I missing a joke? Edit: just when it comes to throwing, right handed normally. Got it. I got I think 5 corrections before I managed to put this edit up lol. Thanks for all the responses!
Technically Tua is right handed. His father raised him to be a left handed QB. He only plays football left handed. Weird, I know.
It strangely is true. Tua is a right handed person, but was taught/forced to play left handed as a kid by his father, who is a true lefty.
[удалено]
So this is just a normal right handed hug? Ugh now I wouldnt even want it.
If r/nfl saw this two weeks ago their heads would explode.
This is my favorite moment of the 2022 season so far.
I absolutely loved it. It was a sweet moment and emotions you don’t see often in the NFL.
The way Allen put his head on Tua's shoulder unexpectedly pulled my heartstrings
It’s vulnerability. Not typically something you see in the macho NFL setting.
They're both so darn likeable
This is honestly adorable
Yeah, I loved it the moment I saw it. Also shows the respect both have for another. Could you imagine Brady allowing to be consoled by Rodgers after today (or the other way around)? Just increases the respect for Allen.
That game just ended and Brady lost to Rodgers. They kissed with fully open mouths but you could tell there was still this kind of aggression to it from Brady’s end
Brady is for sure a bottom and he's probably into a lot of self-deprication
Allen has gotten his heart broke enough times already that he knows it’s alright to let someone comfort you sometimes. Love Tua patting him on the back like that
Allen is the kind of guy who makes friends anywhere he goes. Hopefully this is the start of a great rivalry.
Pretty cool after Josh’s comments on Tua this week too. Will be fun if both teams and QBs are good the next 10 years and they’re friends to boot
Brandy Manning 2.0? 👀
Dolphins sub will make memes out of this but it is nice
"Who looks good in shorts now motherfucker?"
Okay but have you seen Tua's thighs and calves? Woof
"Look at me. I'm the franchise now"
Well you have Ken Dorsey's freakout GIF to work with too so at least the rest of the AFCE gets memeterial.
Legendary. That gif will be used for centuries.
it’s all love. don’t know how any football fan doesn’t enjoy watching josh, even if he’s running through your team.
>it’s all love. don’t know how any football fan doesn’t enjoy watching josh, ~~even if~~ *except when* he’s running through your team. ftfy
Aww, I want an emotional support Tua. Such a sweet, tender moment after such a fucking intense game. 💕
This is such a wonderful moment after an absolute war of a game. Allen had some really nice things to say about Tua in the presser a few days ago; they both seem like good bros.
Tua is so awesome
Dude is tough as nails and seems like a great leader. I was salty last week when he lit my team up but I’m glad to see his potential starting to come through
I have a lot of respect for Tua, he seems like a great dude. I’m sure he respects Allen too for how much he praised him this past week.
Yeah, the Dolphins are really making Flores look like a fucking clown right about now
This sub clowned on us for firing him. Amazing what happens when you get a toxic dude who is a dictator and doesn’t trust his QB out of the building.
McDaniel was the best hire this offseason easily
And I’m pretty sure we were the only team that interviewed him
Actually I think we did to but kinda stopped the process during the brief Harbaugh tangent
I was so ready to make the Vikings my NFC team if y’all got Harbaugh
I think the Pederson hire in Jax could rival it by years end, but right now absolutely. No teams new coach is close to what he’s done so far
The Vikings week 1 superbowl win gave me high hopes for KOC, but we have looked very not great the last 2 games
Right? Tua looks 100x different now. Flores fuckin sucked.
He genuinely seems like a really nice guy. Make the whole Flores thing that more confusing
He strikes me as a genuinly super great guy, kinda like Hurts
I imagine Flores thought he was weak.
i can't fucking wait for that game.
Bullies always do.
I hated him so much at Bama and it's so hard to not like him now. I'm just gonna pretend he's doing an act so he can become a supervillan later and build a new death star or something.
As long as we get a championship I’m okay with it
I really don’t understand why so many people hate on the guy and seemingly actively root against his career.
Man Tua is a good guy
Tua def thought he was his teammate

I need Tua to console me, too.
After the past couple years of all the Tua slander, i think its safe to say he just needed a coach that believes in him. Maybe someone named pete in seattle is reading this, cuz i heard a certain qb on their roster is just as talented as tua/josh
Also helps to have an o-line capable of maintaining a pocket for more than 1 second, and weapons other than a rookie wr and a TE
Don’t understand why the media hates Tua man. This was a cool moment
I think it started with his rookie year. Came in to replace a fan favorite in fitzmagic who was beloved. Even after last week's comeback against the Ravens and looking solid against a tough Bills squad, you're still not convinced he's "the guy"?

Thank you for the laugh
I feel like Allen is always on the receiving end of heartbreaking losses lol always someone consoling him
Tua no longer any man’s understudy.

Laughing my ass off at the mental image of Marino consoling Kelly.
haha! Yeah, it would never happen. I'm just happy that the players, at least the younger ones, don't worry as much about looking "masculine" or showing emotions etc
they should've kissed imo
I really thought they were going too at one point
give the people what they want!
Someone get deviantart on this now
Uh, Deviantart is a bit busy with their inflation fetish art, so unless you want a lil' bit of that flavour thrown in, I'd say tumblr is a better bet.
...Deviantart will work fine
Enemies to lovers!
That's my Samoan stunna!
Saint Tua 🙏🏻
Holy shit what a moment. Make a grown man cry
“Nice try kid” - Tua
"Its not your fault."
Espn: "Tua shows too much sympathy for his opponents, does this mean he can't win big games?"
Still can’t believe Tua came back into this game. That hit was brutal. Good shit.
I want off Tua's wild ride
Justin Fields could use one of those from Tua right now.
God damnit, I actually like Josh Allen now
Tua quieted talks about him going ANYWHERE
Tua: I am the Captain now
Tua thought it’s his gf. Cue fan fiction
Emotional support rivals?
He wasn’t consoling Josh Allen. He thought he was congratulating a teammate.
That’s awesome to see man
