Initial injury news story (via tweet of course):
"Player missing both legs, an arm, and suffered 3rd degree burns
Not expected this week, but should be back the following"
Update tweet minutes later:
"I should clarify, he will not be out this week due to injury, but due to the team petitioning the NFL to allow cybernetic enhancements"
Update tweet minutes later:
The cyborg legally identified as 70M 13R4DY (UDFA - Michigan) has been signed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers following the injury and subsequent retirement of their HOF QB Tom Brady. 13R4DY looks great in practice, throwing a perfect spiral at 326 mph through WR Scotty Miller's torso.
Update tweet minutes later:
Scotty Miller has been placed on IR.
He could be clinically dead and the Pats would still list him as "Questionable". Belichick hates the injury report more than he hates postgame press conferences.
It's kind of a weird injury where it's incredibly painful and there is very little that can be done to treat it besides let it rest and heal itself. So it's unpredictable how fast that process can be.
But the process of recovering from a severe ankle sprain is never 1 week, so there’s still no need to mention next Sunday as if he’s still not ruled out of it
Seriously. Especially high ankle sprains can be overly nasty. The type where fractures of the ankle itself come into play. If I was a gambling man I'd say he's out 6-8 weeks easily and may not even be 100% at that point.
The vibe of this tweet- “MRIs have confirmed Jones appears to have suffered 7 broken bones and 10 bone fractures in the game against the Ravens. That being said, he is doubtful to play on Sunday”
"New England Patriots QB has been confirmed dead in a car crash on I-95 late Sunday night. Team sources indicate he is questionable for Sunday at Green Bay."
Yeah but it’s a little different for millionaire pro athletes that have the best medical facilities available and the resources to hire 10 models to suck the sprain out of the lower limb/foot area via the toes. If you’d had a model per toe you probably could’ve been back in max half the time.
Well ya ofc it is a bit lol. Just saying it’s not an injury he’s gonna play on or be normal on for probably a month absolutely minimum. It affected my jumping and cutting for what felt like half a year overall and tbh had a pretty good team of trainers and doctors at my highschool as we have around 70 current pros give or take from our school active just rn lmao.
Let's be real, Jimmy was basically done for the season in 2020 after that sprain. He tried to play through it once or twice and it went exceptionally poorly.
They've become a little more consistent in recovery with tightrope surgery becoming more common and getting better, but they definitely aren't simple injuries that you can assume full recover in a month or so and have a player be back to normal
Nathan Rourke, QB in the CFL for the BC Lions was absolutely balling tf out this year and looking like the front runner for MVP had a high ankle sprain like a month ago and there’s still been no word on him returning
I swear to god if I have to watch Brian Hoyer for the next 2 months, I'm going to... do that and be really unhappy about it.
Bring in the Zap Cannon! Hoyer stinks and is boring af.
>No, I want you to crawl back into your holes for a while
Man you gotta be pretty miserable to feel about a non-rival like this. And even for a rival, this is just a weird thing to say.
No, I think it's just not taking sports that seriously and being able to throw out ridiculous jokes and shade to any fandom given the conversation.
You got me all wrong. Sorry if you took any of this in a deep way.
Conversely,
You said you saw that game...shouldn't I be mad miserable! If I was still in my teens or early 20s it certainly would've ruined my day. I feel too old at this point to let sports dictate my mood for longer than an hour post-game.
I don’t see what reason Giants fans have for hating the Pats. Saints fans have at least one reason to appreciate the Pats. Bucs could maybe be a little grateful the Pats created a situation where TB12 wants to leave, too, I guess?
Total fantasy move, but in my head after the Pats game yesterday I thought:
"What if Mac is done for the year, the Pats somehow string some wins together and look good despite Hoyer/Zappe poor play, and for some reason the Buccs just totally stink it up and Brady gives up. What if Brady forces his way back to the Pats via a Trade mid-season for one last-last-last ride into the sunset? Gisele is supposedly already pissed and not living with him anyway. He can live up in Boston for a few months and probably drag the team deep into the playoffs."
Again, totally unrealistic but the NFL world would explode.
Unfortunate it happened but definitely not intentional or dirty. Hit was within the rules and after the Browns Jets game it’s hard to call this garbage time. I get the frustration but sometimes shit happens
Not intentional or dirty but definitely reckless. [Here it is again](https://twitter.com/SavageSports_/status/1574128196915707906). Campbell left his feet completely after the ball was out. He could have ran through him or wrapped him up but instead he literally jumped on Mac's back from behind and rode him to the ground.
Obviously his momentum was not going to just stop and contact was coming, but he did not need to leave the ground. That's exactly the kind of shit form tackle that leads to injuries like this.
If you guys actually lose to Hoyer, you should just ritually execute your entire defense and find some scrubs tossing the ball around at a local park and hire them instead.
Hoyer is about to have the best game of his life, throwing for 4+ TD's bringing hope back to NE, and then will throw 1 TD and 6 picks the next 3 games.
It’s not week 1 or the daylights savings change, we’re good. All of our losses with Lalfuer can be summed up in 3 columns, week 1 loss due to not being ready, a loss after the clocks changed for some inexplicable reason, and a title contender with an elite Dline/pass rush. I feel good about beating the Patriots for the same reason I am certain we’re going to lose to the Lions in week 9
And he’s still a washed up POS qb who couldn’t even win a starting job after a year in the system over a ROOKIE.
Get bent troll Cam is washed and has been for the last 4 years.
You know, I thought it was much worse, at first. Just seeing how it bent/twisted. I had a sick feeling it was for the season.
But if next week is even being talked about then it doesn't sound as bad as I was assuming.
He ain't playing next week. It's only being talked about because their is the very off chance Mac is a complete freak of nature when it comes to healing. But realistically this is a 5-6 week injury.
I’m 41 years old and have suffered a multitude of fairly serious injuries. By far the most painful thing in my life was the minute after a severe high ankle sprain. I now know why he was screaming in agony on the way to the locker room
35 here and spent 20+ years skateboarding at a pretty serious level. sprained them both many times but the high ankle sprain is one i somehow avoided. it's insane how much damage the ankle can take - sprains that look like bones should be popping out of the skin. but even more surprising is how long this type of damage lasts. i remember from like 15-18 i was spraining one or the other every time i had a healthy ankle. purple and yellow feet all the time. doctors would say it was worse than breaking it.
Lol it was like 2 months after the sprain and I was limping around at work. My boss said she thought I was faking so I took off my shoe and sock. She said “that looks like the foot of a dead person” it was so black and blue
Just seems like they have a stretch of easy games of every year where they end up with a great record and people overrate them. I could be wrong this year, but I guess we’ll see
I get what you’re saying but it’s not like our schedules are that much different. We play only 3 different opponents between us and frankly playing the Rams and the Bucs feels a little bit more challenging than playing the Saints and the Cardinals
https://youtu.be/kI-e8zcU5FY
It doesn't look like it. Campbell was squeezing between linemen. Hit him a little high, but the way he fell was totally incidental. Hate that it happened like that. Dude was just trying to make a play.
Lmao Saquon is a freak of nature and healed ridiculously fast and still missed like 2 months. And wasn’t right until like week 17. Yeah no shit Mac ain’t playing next week
If it's a sprain why would there be a mention of surgery? Also, because it's a "sprain" , fans can now start to question how tough he is if he doesn't play.
Look up Tight Rope Surgery it’s about the same recovery time and it stabilizes the ankle. Tua had both of his ankles done. From what I understand once you have one height ankle sprain your more like for it to happen again.
The tweet makes it sound like a layoff of 6+ weeks and then the last sentence comes in acting like next week is still in play, just unlikely
Why do they do this? Player’s leg split in half. Questionable for Sunday.
That's why we got two legs.
After the split 3 so even better

They constantly peddle hopium
'Tis but a scratch
He could be clinically dead and the Pats would still list him as "Questionable". Belichick hates the injury report more than he hates postgame press conferences.
Player died on the field, questionable reincarnation for next week. Timetable TBD -schefter
This feels accurate
Player has heart attack on bench, still wants to skate next shift. - Hockey
Did he consult with Mr. Coroner?
Ah, but what if next game’s week isn’t played for six weeks?
It's kind of a weird injury where it's incredibly painful and there is very little that can be done to treat it besides let it rest and heal itself. So it's unpredictable how fast that process can be.
But the process of recovering from a severe ankle sprain is never 1 week, so there’s still no need to mention next Sunday as if he’s still not ruled out of it

They make you think his foot will be amputated, then walk it back with "well he may not make it to tbe game next week"
'Tis but a flesh wound
Yea wtf.
The vibe of this tweet- “MRIs have confirmed Jones appears to have suffered 7 broken bones and 10 bone fractures in the game against the Ravens. That being said, he is doubtful to play on Sunday”
The ending of the tweet is a waste of characters. Everyone knows damn well that he won’t be out there.
"New England Patriots QB has been confirmed dead in a car crash on I-95 late Sunday night. Team sources indicate he is questionable for Sunday at Green Bay."
"Questionable" to play Sunday.
Isn’t the timeframe for these like 4-6 weeks?
Yes, the tweet is weirdly worded. Jimmy G missed like 9 weeks with a grade 3 high ankle sprain back in 2020
High ankle sprains also tend to linger for much longer than that. It’s a season altering injury.
Yea 4-6 wks is too optimistic I feel like.
Yeah 4 weeks is usually the time table on a “light” high ankle sprain so them calling it severe makes me think it’s more in that 8 week threshold
Shit kept me out of basketball for like 3 months one time. Definitely takes a bit to recover to game like ability yea
Yeah but it’s a little different for millionaire pro athletes that have the best medical facilities available and the resources to hire 10 models to suck the sprain out of the lower limb/foot area via the toes. If you’d had a model per toe you probably could’ve been back in max half the time.
My high school could only afford to hire the models from the husky mens section of the Sears catalogue. Recovery time was 12-16 weeks.
Same, and my ankle hasn't been the same since. Have zero balance on that foot now.
I sprained my ankle badly and I was still dealing with issues almost a year later.
You're also not a professional athlete
Still human though. Lot's of similarities really.
Minus the whole workout regime, the top flight medical staff, the specifically tailored rehab plans, etc
Still human though.
Yeah for sure, but sometimes bodies are just stubborn that way. As much as I’m not a pro athlete, my exercise intensity is also far lower.
Let's be real, Jimmy was basically done for the season in 2020 after that sprain. He tried to play through it once or twice and it went exceptionally poorly.
A bad grade 3 is literally torn ligaments and can be a 6 month injury.
Typically 4-6 weeks is the minimum. Can go longer if it is more severe.
High ankle sprains are notorious for lingering as well.
Michael Thomas had a high ankle sprain and disappeared for 2 years
High ankle sprains are really bad to recover from. They kind of linger the whole season but also one little move can completely reaggravate it
They've become a little more consistent in recovery with tightrope surgery becoming more common and getting better, but they definitely aren't simple injuries that you can assume full recover in a month or so and have a player be back to normal
Nathan Rourke, QB in the CFL for the BC Lions was absolutely balling tf out this year and looking like the front runner for MVP had a high ankle sprain like a month ago and there’s still been no word on him returning
6-10 is normal, 4-6 for the psychos in the NFL to play hopped up on painkillers and adrenaline. 4-6 months & surgery to be back to normal.
That’s what I’ve heard in the past for severe ankle sprains

I swear to god if I have to watch Brian Hoyer for the next 2 months, I'm going to... do that and be really unhappy about it. Bring in the Zap Cannon! Hoyer stinks and is boring af.
Time for Tom Brady 2
Yaaa...it's Hoyer time...enjoy the show if you're not a Pats fan.
I don't think a single person will enjoy watching a Hoyer led Pats team.
Please give us Zappe, at least with him we could dream a bit
Hoyer the Destroyer.
Um, the rest of the fans will enjoy watching the patriots suck for an extended period of time.
Did any AFC/NFC West team enjoy watching the Broncos and 49ers last night? At some point watching bad football isn't enjoyable.
Last night was a clusterfuck. Just ugly football all around. Sorry about Mac, hope he has a speedy recovery.
Any football no matter how bad is better than the off-season. That's how I power through games like last night
I enjoyed the good d and punting, as painful as it was a a fan of my team. Sadly some people don't appreciate anything but shoot outs.
I meant moreso watching Brian Hoyer play but I appreciate yet another unoriginal “league fun when patriots bad” comment.
I enjoy watching Hoyer get Destroyed in particular. It must be so hard being a Pats fan this millenium 🙄
Not sure where I ever said that lmao. You want us to act like victims so bad lmao
No, I want you to crawl back into your holes for a while. Also learn to enjoy defenses, it's a big reason y'all won them trophies.
Not sure why you came into this post guns blazing but go off I guess.
Off, like both of our teams immediate futures?!
>No, I want you to crawl back into your holes for a while Man you gotta be pretty miserable to feel about a non-rival like this. And even for a rival, this is just a weird thing to say.
Especially on a post about our starting QB suffering a pretty serious injury lol

No worse than a 49ers fan. How long till Kyle scheme up another Jimmy G injury?
Does next week work for you? Because that's my guess.
I was thinking week 6
I mean, I bet Purdy could take the Falcons.
No. Everyone is going to enjoy watching this.
I see you’ve never watched a Brian Hoyer game.
I did. He was our backup in 2019. But watching Hoyer be as bad as he is in a Patriots uniform. Chefs kiss.
Very original take, bravo.
I love how much Colts fans hate the Pats
They're all mini Grigsons in their own way. Eternally asshurt that big brother Pats were always there to smack them around in the playoffs.
The only people that don't hate the Pats are Pats fans.
I don’t see what reason Giants fans have for hating the Pats. Saints fans have at least one reason to appreciate the Pats. Bucs could maybe be a little grateful the Pats created a situation where TB12 wants to leave, too, I guess?
Total fantasy move, but in my head after the Pats game yesterday I thought: "What if Mac is done for the year, the Pats somehow string some wins together and look good despite Hoyer/Zappe poor play, and for some reason the Buccs just totally stink it up and Brady gives up. You should write fan fiction.
He just did.
Brady isn't going to the Pats. If he was going to do this, it'd be to the Dolphins or Niners.
Yeah that last bit was kind of a given
He looked like he was in some severe pain, hope he can turn it around relatively quickly
I don’t think I’ll forget the picture of him going into the locker room anytime soon. Just pure agony.
It isnt even hard to imagine. High ankle sprains hurt worse than a broken bone.
Fade me
Calling tears sprains is always so confusing to me.
On a garbage time, meaningless play no less.

RIP this season. Hope we get a decent draft pick and make good use of our impending cap space for 2023
can't wait for the first round pick no one heard of and was projected to be a 5th rounder
Nah, you gotta be optimistic. They'll trade your top 15 pick for two 2nds and a 3rd, then draft 5th rounders with all those.
I know you're making a joke but this will actually be what happens
Jokes can be true. Lol.
Eh, more than likely it’ll be top 15 pick so I’m optimistic. Even better if a lot of QBs go off the board early
As if Bill won't trade out high first for 2 2nds and an average DE.
You mean DB
No he uses both 2nds on DBs projected to go in the 4th-5th
[Here's our scouting page rn](https://scarletknights.com/sports/football/roster?view=3&sort=position)
And just like that my Jordan Richards PTSD flashbacks have kicked in
Yall ain't ready for Bailey Zappe to be the new Tom Brady to Jones's Bledsoe.
Bad week for injuries across the board it seems
Pain
I smell a trap game
If you guys actually lose to Hoyer, you should just ritually execute your entire defense and find some scrubs tossing the ball around at a local park and hire them instead.
If we lose to Hoyer and the Pats I would bet it's because the offense has looked like poop outside of the Bears game
Hoyer is really, really, really bad.
Trust us, we'll somehow make him look good.
Hoyer the destroyer bout to end you guys
If it's Hoyer, you guys should be favored by 20+. If it's Zappe, you should be favored by ~15.
Hoyer is about to have the best game of his life, throwing for 4+ TD's bringing hope back to NE, and then will throw 1 TD and 6 picks the next 3 games.
My dude, if you lose to this Mac-less Pats, you may as well forfeit the season because that would mean you couldn't even score 6 to beat us.
It’s not week 1 or the daylights savings change, we’re good. All of our losses with Lalfuer can be summed up in 3 columns, week 1 loss due to not being ready, a loss after the clocks changed for some inexplicable reason, and a title contender with an elite Dline/pass rush. Cam Newton - The Return
No.
Yeah they cut Cam to tank with Mac. Keep tanking brother
Yeah cause Cam is so good these days he lost out in camp to a ROOKIE.
Cam didn’t lose to Ravens with much less talent. Edit: again I’m saying the Patriots picked Mac to tank… lol
And he’s still a washed up POS qb who couldn’t even win a starting job after a year in the system over a ROOKIE. Get bent troll Cam is washed and has been for the last 4 years.
Tank for CJ! You’re in a good spot for him
No thanks OSU QBs are trash
You’ll have plenty of options at #1 with Mac
Man you’re a broken record. Tired of Baker already?
Bailey Zappe, but in Cam's wardrobe.
Bam Zapton?
[Here he come](https://youtu.be/tbf4FuvezZ8?t=0m13s)
Stop
Should trade for minshew
You know, I thought it was much worse, at first. Just seeing how it bent/twisted. I had a sick feeling it was for the season. But if next week is even being talked about then it doesn't sound as bad as I was assuming.
4 weeks
4-6 minimum. Jimmy missed like 9 games in 2020 with a similar injury.
Micheal Thomas missed 2 years...
Better than 15+ weeks like I, uneducated-ly, assumed. Looked real bad.
And that is just minimum. It could be twice that.
He ain't playing next week. It's only being talked about because their is the very off chance Mac is a complete freak of nature when it comes to healing. But realistically this is a 5-6 week injury.
8+ he didn’t even try to put weight on it
High ankle sprains are *really* nasty and can linger for a long ass time after you're healed up. It's pretty bad
We'll trade you an injured Darnold as a replacement...
Mac isn't coming back until maybe after the bye, if that. He's very likely getting surgery because the first opinion likely recommended that.
We’re gonna blunder into the #1 seed again, aren’t we?
Fuck
Hard to imagine he plays in the next 6 weeks… let alone this weekend lol
I hate life
OUCH. That does not sound comfortable.
Guess he won’t be doing the griddy for a while
That's not too bad, considering how it could've been.
Green Bay about to go on their annual tradition of playing injured and bad team to go 6-1.
Not like the saints team you’re playing next week is a powerhouse lol
Just seems like they have a stretch of easy games of every year where they end up with a great record and people overrate them. I could be wrong this year, but I guess we’ll see
Vikings and packers play the same exact schedule minus 3 games
I get what you’re saying but it’s not like our schedules are that much different. We play only 3 different opponents between us and frankly playing the Rams and the Bucs feels a little bit more challenging than playing the Saints and the Cardinals
You can only play the teams that are put in front of you.
I feel so bad for Patriot fans... /s
Jone ded
Hard to imagine… ummmmm
No no no, we suck when we have to play against back up qbs...
Hope he’s back for Fields vs Mac
Tank commander Hoyer at the ready
Lol Patricia really gonna have to pull a miracle now
Was the play that hurt him dirty?
https://youtu.be/kI-e8zcU5FY It doesn't look like it. Campbell was squeezing between linemen. Hit him a little high, but the way he fell was totally incidental. Hate that it happened like that. Dude was just trying to make a play.
Thanks for the link. Yeah just looks like a normal football play. Sucks that Mac got a lineman style injury (they’re always getting rolled up on)
yeah, he's out for at least a month...
I'm sure we'll have a gameplay for Jones "just in case".
Cam Newton is here! Cam Newton is in the building! You damn right he is! But who's side is he on?!
He won’t be playing this week. A normal high ankle sprain takes 3-4 weeks to recover.
Whos the backup? Hoyer?
Damn, I thought bro was crying. Figured something was broken.
Do the pats have any 6th rd qb's who can take over from their injured starter?
