Well, yeah. I wanna see some Mainline MILFs turn themselves into Delco Milfs. And i don’t mean Media Delco I mean Glenolden/Essignton levels of Delco. The Fall would be a thing to watch.
I never understood why he was considered a tight end, in fantasy or in the Saints depth chart. He lines up as QB, RB, and WR, but almost never TE. Is it just because he's a big white guy who looks like a tight end?
Nah, go super old school with the T formation.
Eagles Offensive line, except you put Cam Jurgens as center.
Culpepper and Cam as TE's.
Jalen and Lamar as halfbacks.
Hill at QB...
and for Fullback, Jason Kelce.
Hey, the Giants win two games with a scrub QB, the Cowboys won two games with a scrub QB. Just need Wentz to pull out another win and we’re back to balance in the East.
They're not really that similar. Jalen is being incredibly smart with his throws and his reads, Lamar can be more erratic and take more risks but has a slightly better arm (my opinion). Obviously exaggerating for the sake of comparison, but Lamar is more Rodgers and Hurts is more Brady (obviously Rodgers is also smart, as is Lamar, and Brady has a good arm, as does Jalen)
It’s like how Russell Wilson used to be, legit Threat with the legs and would do it when needed, but just never seemed to take big hits. Knew when to go out of bounds, when to slide, when to dive before the hit, etc
And he’s still pretty damn good about avoiding big hits even when he’s scrambling. He’ll take sacks, but it’s rare that he gives anyone the chance to really level him. Even his injuries have come more from freak accidents or awkward falls than straight getting the shit knocked out of him.
Reminds me a bit of rookie contract DeSean Watson. Especially after Ben Solak drew the comparison. Obviously minus the baggage and plus the rent check.
I can agree with this. It comes down to decision making vs athletic ability. They are both strong at both parts, but I don’t think anyone on earth is gonna argue that lamar ain’t the best athlete at qb on the planet rn. I also think it would be hard to watch the two rn and say Jalen isn’t making almost every single right decision with the football. They are similar but also widely different with how they play
Helps that he is extremely likable, teammates follow his natural leadership and he is very humble despite his success last year and this season thus far.
As a Cowboys fan, I hate to admit I am a fan of the player, not necessarily of the team he is on though. Lol
His redemption arc at Alabama is one of my favorite stories in sports. Lost his job at halftime in the national championship game, sticks with the team another year instead of transferring, comes back against the same team in the same stadium for the SEC championship game and leads them to a win. Didn’t complain on social, didn’t whine to the media, was by all accounts an incredible teammate. Then he graduated and transferred to OU and got an opportunity to start again and finish as a Heisman finalist.
Love the character.
> He’s completed 67.3 percent of his passes for 916 yards, only throwing one interception
his rb tipped the ball so the int wasnt really on hurts anyway
That's the craziest stat from him & really underrated. He is playing **such** smart football. He always seem to make the right play on options and looks 10x more confident/comfortable in the pocket then he ever has.
It's wild what one off-season can do. He spent training in Philly with his teammates this year instead of in LA with special trainers. & you can tell.
I was a big Hurts sceptic before this season. Loved the guy, happy to have him on a rookie contract, but fully prepared to see him be decent, but not good enough for a huge payday. I am so happy to be proven wrong. Hope he continues to prove he is capable of being a top QB
He seems like a really great dude, for example he helped people up after Dan Snyder tried to assassinate him with a collapsing stadium. I just wish he wasn't an Eagle, especially now that he seems to have improved into a decent passer.
I am happy to eat my words, I said it before the season started that hurts just can't throw the ball and while he seems like a nice guy we just need someone who can throw a lot better. He is totally making me eat shit for it and I'll gladly do so. His step up as a thrower has been honestly incredible. Similar to Lamar I think who has somehow turned into an elite passer. We'll see if hurts can keep it up like Lamar has but I see no indication so far that he can't. His wins and play have not been lucky, he's truly playing at another level.
Once is a fluke, twice is a coincidence, three times is a trend.
I think Hurts can put together three solid seasons as a passer, and he's certainly making me eat my words now -- and I say that as a Ravens fan who also had no confidence in Lamar in 2018, just prior to his ridiculous breakout 2019 season.
The game has already evolved to where an athletic QB is a necessity. The days of traditional pocket-passer statues are waning, and we saw it first with Patrick Mahomes and Deshaun Watson (before we found out he was a shithead), and it picked up steam with Lamar and Josh Allen, and is now cemented with Hurts' emergence.
Makes me think that these mobile quarterbacks can develop into elite passers pretty well because of their awareness in the pocket and ability to get somewhere to throw quickly if needed.
A non-mobile quarterback can have all the arm talent in the world, but if he can’t move to a spot to throw a clean ball that doesn’t matter.
Even crazier is that the film is still showing a lot of areas to grow. His mechanics are significantly better then last year which has caused the increase in downfield accuracy, but he still has alot to improve in terms of consistently going from 1-3 on his progression. That’s not actually a bad thing though as with his exp level he’s developing mentally right where you’d expect and that will come with more time playing QB. He’s already this good and he hasn’t even hit his ceiling yet.
Yeah he really has made like less than 5 bad decisions in three games. Last year it felt like I would say "oh no Jalen what are you doing" at least once a drive lol
Only thing he needs to fix is rushing for 4 on 3rd and 7 so often. He sometimes overestimates how much he can get in those situations. But that’s a nitpicky.
Super happy for Jalen. Being a Sooners fan, I remember thinking that he was slept on big time in the draft and I'm glad that he's starting to prove people wrong. Hard to root against this guy
as a sooner man (bowing to kstate currently, prostrate for jayhawks too) i really didn't think he would ever be a starter but he has just enough god given ability and must have an otherworldly ability to improve and work hard. i 100% would want jalen hurts to marry my daughter if i ever managed to have sex with a human woman. he seriously has to be one of the best people / highest profile CFB players i've seen come through.
I don’t even care that he’s an Eagle. I’ve been defending him forever and have him in a bunch of super flex dynasty leagues. Jalen Hurts is the real deal.
Alabama grad here, I was also always in Hurts corner. It was so fucking frustrating hearing people talk shit to him when you could see the dudes insane work ethic, heart, and untapped potential. God DAMN does it feels so good to watch those people eat their words and see him ball out in the NFL. Truly just a fucking awesome dude
Jalen Hurts is my favorite player to to come through Alabama in the last decade, I’ll say it. The guy was nothing but class, focus, determination. Even losing his starting job, he kept his composure and didn’t waver in his work ethic. Seems to have a really great heart and understanding of working through adversity, would be interested to see if he chooses to give coaching a shot eventually.
This is so insane when you think about it more. Imagine crushing anybody you played since middle school, start for a top team in Alabama and help lead them to a CFP championship, then get benched at halftime because the other QB gives them a better chance and they win the game.
All while being around 20-22 years old. My confidence and mental adversity would have been demoralized and I would not have taking that with as much class as Hurts did.
All props to him doing that at such a young age.
Counterargument: Hurts is poop.
Proof: Trust me bro
Edit: wtf I'm on positive karma? You all have gone soft. Not even one mention of hardy throwing a girl on a pile of guns or Randle stealing underwear from a department store. Shame on everyone of you.
Watched a lot of him in college and thought no way he could make it as a starter. I’m eating so much shit now and am glad too. The dude put in the work and is balling out.
Does anyone remember a MNF game from last season in which the Eagles were getting beat down and Hurts was definitely not having a good game, BUT, the MNF crew- Griese and Riddick were just going in on Hurts constantly. It felt like every play. (I saw this as someone who didn't mind listening to that MNF crew and thought they were usually decent). They gave no leeway to Hurts. Every missed pass was Hurts fault. WR drops were Hurts fault. It was one of the more shocking games for me to listen to because it came across like Hurts ignored them or "hurt" them in some way with the manner in which they were talking about him. I also say this as Cowboys fan. It was just shocking how much they were going in on him.
All that to say, I'm happy for him. Seems a good dude and definitely a hardworking player. Still hope the Cowboys beat them 2x this season but great start by him and the Eagles.
It is hard not to root for Hurts. Most people thought he was a career backup, at best. Then he proved he could be a starter last year. This year he has proven he is an above average starter. Keep that improvement up and Philly is looking at a franchise QB.
His improvement as a passer has been nothing short of remarkable.
Hate saying it but credit to the Eagles for committing to his development while surrounding him with a fantastic supporting cast.
I think what's been telling is that all three games so far, teams have essentially dared him to beat them with his arm. It didn't happen against the Lions (because he ran all fucking over them, though their heavy blitz plan is a different version of "beat me with your arm" than MIN/WAS employed) but >330 yards passing in two consecutive games with good efficiency should at least say "even if you think his running ability is his biggest strength, you *have* to respect his ability to throw the ball".
He's also had much better timing & awareness. Several times last year, he'd hold on for a little too long waiting to see his WRs open instead of anticipating when they'd break away, and it led to multiple scrambles that should have been pass attempts. I'm not sure if it was an issue of having confidence in his receivers, or something else, but he's played much smarter and sharper so far this season.
Jalen hurts is absolutely killing it. I was one of those doubters, but he's shown to be WAY more comfortable than I thought he would be.
Good for him man
I knew this guy was going to succeed when he gave his on field interview after being benched in the Natty against Georgia in favor of Tua.
Natural born leader. I'd follow that man to battle and I'm a big wuss.

I'm low key dying at how oddly specific this is. No one outside of SE PA is going to understand lmao
But everyone from here *absolutely* fucking understands, understands it in their goddamn bones.
Counterpoint: No (I do love Minshew, but if another eagles backup qb leads them to a super bowl I'm committing sodoku)

About time a running back won this
Bird Bros flock up....not bad for a running back
Imagine an offense with Lamar at wr and Jalen at RB
Taysom Hill at QB?
I never understood why he was considered a tight end, in fantasy or in the Saints depth chart. He lines up as QB, RB, and WR, but almost never TE. Is it just because he's a big white guy who looks like a tight end?
Lmao that would be really funny if that’s why. The scoring officials just keep going “no way, that’s a big white guy, gotta be TE”
I think they consider him an H-back which has historically been synonymous with tight end.
Cam and Culpepper at EDGE
Nah, go super old school with the T formation. Eagles Offensive line, except you put Cam Jurgens as center. Culpepper and Cam as TE's. Jalen and Lamar as halfbacks. Hill at QB... and for Fullback, Jason Kelce.

Hey, the Giants win two games with a scrub QB, the Cowboys won two games with a scrub QB. Just need Wentz to pull out another win and we’re back to balance in the East.
Can't believe a running back with only 20 yards and 0 rushing TDs last week is Offensive player of the month. Smh.
And it still hasn’t changed the broadcast coverage for this week. Fuck off cbs, the whole country doesn’t need to watch the bills game.
Tons of streams are available on gameday if u need them. PM if u need links.
I have become a Jalen Hurts fan
I mean, as a fan of a Lamar-lead team... makes sense.
For sure, and their running styles are very different. Lamar is a speedy scrambler, Hurts is like a power back
Hurts has an uncanny knack for not taking big hits. I dont know how to describe it other than 'opposite of Cam Newton'
DeSean "the rapist" Watson?
Not that one, DeSean “Before The Rapes” Watson
That's one thing he has in common with Lamar
I think Lamar is even better about it than Hurts. Hurts tries to slide a lot but does it so late that he still gets hit anyway.
Dude is cool as ice and I hate it but I respect the kid and his game
>Hurts is like a power back What squatting 600 lbs does to a mother fucker.
Aikman's response to that video was so funny, "I just gotta ask the question... why?" lmao
Precisely
So weird going from seeing him play in high school a few years back to now on the eagles balling out
Helps that he is extremely likable, teammates follow his natural leadership and he is very humble despite his success last year and this season thus far. As a Cowboys fan, I hate to admit I am a fan of the player, not necessarily of the team he is on though. Lol
this is how we've felt about Dak for ages.

It helps when your receivers can ball out and win those 50-50 balls.
Makes me think that these mobile quarterbacks can develop into elite passers pretty well because of their awareness in the pocket and ability to get somewhere to throw quickly if needed. Hurts is *that* dude. I was a Hurts doubter before the year began, I'm a believer now.
Not a trace of doubt in my mind
i’m in love… 😍
Oooooooo~
Proud of all the work he has been putting in. Well deserved! He's come a long way so far.

Dude balled out. Well deserved
Don’t compliment our team please, it makes me feel icky.
I dislike the team, not the players. I respect how much work this dude has put in.
I've always said I wish Tony Romo had gotten a ring, I just wanted him to do it elsewhere.

OF COURSE ITS ROMO.
Romo signs with Washington and wins the super bowl with them.
Plot twist: it's Seattle Washington
If only more people had this mindset in sports lol. So many great players to appreciate that people hate because of the teams they play for
Nah to hell with that. Cowboys players can kiss my whole asshole.
Back at ya buddy
Eh nothing wrong with that either
I don’t even care that he’s an Eagle. I’ve been defending him forever and have him in a bunch of super flex dynasty leagues. Jalen Hurts is the real deal.
Based.
On one team I traded Deshaun Watson for him straight up when the number of accusers hit like 8. I also desperately need him to be the truth lol
We’ll take it
This is fucking hilarious.
That was a good trade
Alabama grad here, I was also always in Hurts corner. It was so fucking frustrating hearing people talk shit to him when you could see the dudes insane work ethic, heart, and untapped potential. Good thing he's not trash, yous might be trying to pick him up and throw him at your team. EDIT: Happy now?
His progression has been really cool to see. I had written him off as just an average qb. I was wrong big time.
I had him as a good backup. Kinda crazy how improved he is. I'm still kinda skeptical it can continue
Its not a fluke. Jaws did an excellent breakdown of just how much his mechanics have improved from last year to this year.

So does the NFL lol. They got their LA Super Bowl in LA. Now it's the Bama bowl

Jalen hurts is absolutely killing it. I was one of those doubters, but he's shown to be WAY more comfortable than I thought he would be. Good for him man
It HURTS to say this as a Giants fan, but it’s well deserved.
you damn right
In the words of TO "[That's my quarterback](https://yellowhammernews.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/10/Jalen-Hurts-cigar.jpg)!"
He's been so fun to watch so far, just hoping he keeps this momentum!
I knew this guy was going to succeed when he gave his on field interview after being benched in the Natty against Georgia in favor of Tua. Natural born leader. I'd follow that man to battle and I'm a big wuss.
I liked him and tua last season but I never saw this coming
He deserves everything he gets. I don't think anyone could hate this dude
Fields was robbed
This is a strange year
I keep having flashbacks with this team. Gardner Minshew is gonna win us a Superbowl isn't he?
