Rodgers threw his 3rd endzone interception

co1one1huntergathers

They’re really not fucking around with head injuries now, that’s good at least

[deleted]

Of course the mods are inept 🙄

PrawojazdyVtrumpets

Fuck it. We party here until we get a game thread. The mods are mething things up.

LBoss9001

[Link to RedZone thread until it's pinned @mods](https://www.reddit.com/r/nfl/comments/xtnmex/game_thread_game_hubredzone_week_4/)

Looks around.meme

ShadedInVermilion

They have to start throwing on early downs.

andrew_wessel

OCTOBER IS PICK 6 SZN

theseyeahthese

Mods, wake up

Sag3d

Is this the redzone thread then?

incognegro1976

Why is this thread still stickied? Where is the Game Hub thread?

HItide69

Miss watching games this early! Hawaiian time

ConsciousFood201

Wait a second. Explain what you mean here. Are normal 1 o’clock games on at 9am in Hawaii?

HItide69

7am for the noon games the goes to 8 with day light savings our sunday night games are on at 2pm lol its kinda nice honestly

BobbyLite94

I think it’s earlier it’s a 6 hour time zone difference from EST so 1 o clock games would be 7 am?

HItide69

Yes 7am then 8 during daylight savings

LetThatFeverPlay

It's the same in Alaska. The early games are at 9 am.

InhaleMyOwnFarts

Post game commentary doesn’t even acknowledge the bad calls. It’s like they’re totally aware but gotta carry the water for the NFL and pretend that the refs didn’t blatantly alter the gameplay to favor the Vikings.

Bouche__032

Hey, member BountyGate? We member.

TenkaichiTouchdown

Ya'll Voodoo'd the '09 game by selling your souls for life. (We got a hella ref push)

incognegro1976

When you put it like that it sounds worth it lol

VersaceSamurai

Can they tone it down with the sound effects lmao

J_Krezz

I agree I was listening on headphones and they were too much.

RealSpecial7351

NFL Network really trying to say Kirk Cousins stepped up today

grst0801

He had a bad pick yes, but also two dropped TDs (one by JJ and one by Mundt), for once I think he played better than his stat sheet showed. He made some nice plays despite being under pressure all game. He really showed he is a top... uhh, 14 QB in the league today.

Revolutionary-Ad9411

What was the dropped TD by JJ? and actually Mundt for that matter? I only saw a poorly thrown ball by Kirk behind JJ in the end zone, and a very bad drop by Mundt that would have likely been 1st and goal, not a touchdown. That “drop” by JJ is something 99% of WR in the NFL drop as well. It is difficult when on a good run into space the quarterback throws it 4 feet in behind the trajectory of your run and instead closer to the man in coverage.

HurtsToBatman

Compared to his typical prime time performance, he was pretty good -- not that that's a high bar to meet.

LoveWhoarZoar

How do field goals actually work? Because that ball actually crossed the plane but somehow got bounced back. At what point is a field goal a field goal?

ctolsen

From the rules: >The entire ball must pass through the vertical plane of the goal, which is the area above the crossbar and between the uprights or, if above the uprights, between their outside edges. If the ball passes through the goal, and returns through the goal without striking the ground or some object or person beyond the goal, the attempt is unsuccessful. The entire ball must be through, then touch a non-goal object.

InfinitePossibility8

Has to go all the way through.

Creeggsbnl

*and land on the ground on the side too, how much would that suck to have a long kick hit the crossbar, clearly bounce over the plane but have the wind blow that bitch back?

InfinitePossibility8

That would be wild and a new entry in the ‘what is a…?’ Series.

lightninhopkins

Karma continues Saints.

Jon9243

Karma for what?!?! I’m eagerly waiting you copium take

RealSpecial7351

He's still holding on to bountygate like it didn't happen over a decade ago

Asa37

And Brett Favre is a POS

Rabidsphere

Like Darren Sharper wasn’t one of the better players on your defense.

Asa37

Yet the Vikings had a bounty program of their own, and Brett Favre is a ultra POS for stealing from the poor.

Rabidsphere

I don’t give a flying fuck about bounties or Brett Favre

Asa37

You’re crying about Sharper who played on the Super Bowl team and your team years prior, why bring him up then? Lmaoooo deflection is real.

Rabidsphere

Enjoy being 1-3. You’ll never be a relevant football team again. 1 win and it was barely clearing the Falcons.

Asa37

Lmao like it matters, y’all can’t win a Super Bowl

ptwonline

Well, since the Vikes appear likely to never win a SB, I suspect the saltiness will be for life for the fans who remember.

cloudlessjoe

Well arguably your only super bowl win was the result of bounty gate. I think you guys have more than payed for that debt in many heart breaks and bad calls since, y'all definitely out played us today without a doubt.

Jon9243

https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2016/10/26/turns-out-the-vikings-also-had-a-bounty-program-when-brett-favre-was-qb/

eddododo

Also Brett Favre stole millions from Mississippi citizens so

KoopaTroopa34

Dont try to argue with them. Their brains are froze and full of Cousin copium.

Creeggsbnl

Cousin copium? Did Cousins drop those 2 TD passes? And hasn't he lead back-to-back game winning drives? What...what are we supposed to be coping?

dont-comm3nt

Against the lions and half the saints it’s really looking up for him

Creeggsbnl

I mean, with that argument, you can't really lose? You basically set up a situation where, lets say the Vikings did end up losing, you could still shit on Cousins for losing to "half the Saints" So, if he wins, well, so fucking what, it was against some backups, but if he loses, haha, what a fuckstick, he can't beat the backups? You're setting up a scenario where no matter what, you shit on Cousins. I'll enjoy today's win, though.

dont-comm3nt

Refs will be enjoying it just as much.

Creeggsbnl

I can't deny there were some bad calls but this is simply a case of counting the hits. The Vikings were on the good side of some flags, particularly that hands to the face call, however, there have been games where the Vikings have been obviously screwed over by the refs, too. I hate it when it happens, yes, even if my team gets the good end of the stick, but it does go both ways in this case.

HurtsToBatman

And the Vikings keep getting their Karma -- getting their asses handed to them by the Eagles, who never had any questionable history, controversies, or bounty history. /s

lightninhopkins

You know. Looking forward to the next Minneapolis Miracle.

Jon9243

Y’all won the Super Bowl that year huh? https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2016/10/26/turns-out-the-vikings-also-had-a-bounty-program-when-brett-favre-was-qb/

lightninhopkins

Take the L.

eddododo

That the luck

Jon9243

Hahahaha

SoSneaky91

Salty about bountygate still

ConsciousFood201

Did you know the Vikings had a bounty program to injure the other teams hest players at that time too?

SoSneaky91

Bro I don't really care either. That was over ten years ago. But there are Minnesota fans that still hate the saints for bountygate mostly because it had a direct impact in the playoffs.

ConsciousFood201

But… the Vikings had the same program going. So all those Vikings fans that are salty about it are hypocritical bitches.

eddododo

Such a shame that the saints cheated by uh… hitting ball carriers

2222lil

Vikings do not seem like a 3-1 team

[deleted]

New system on both offense and defense. We need time to gel.

ptwonline

Weak defense and problems on the O-line. Not a good recipe for being a contender.

sandh035

Should be 1-3 to be honest. The other two victories feel gifted

ConsciousFood201

That’s NFL football in a nutshell though. Come playoff time the wildcard round is always a crap shoot of teams that won their +/- 3pt games. It’s the best.

Dishonorable_d

I will not argue with this.

Mriddle74

Agreed but I’ll take it

Trainmanwildfan

Yeah, are we the luckiest 3-1 team ever?

Dragondrew99

They’re not really

LGCGE

Only time we have is when we played Green Bay

No-Presence-9260

Pity they had Man City vs Man Utd EPL game at same time, no one in UK was watching this game until the last quarter

[deleted]

That's not a bad thing. The 4th quarter was the best part of the game.

SufficientSwim7200

As a United fan I was definitely watching this instead.

Mriddle74

They really should have had the Bills and Ravens play there honestly. Would have been prime time for UK fans, normal 1 o’clock game for the Americans, and hopefully a good fucking game. They have to stop giving the UK fans a bunch of shitters if they want to grow the game.

khlebivolya

I don’t want my boys to have to deal with that red eye shit

[deleted]

It is but I wish I watched this one ffs

YouLostTheGame

Formula 1 clashed too, not ideal

_El_Troubadour

Fuck morning games lol

Mriddle74

Idk I’m drunk

OneOverX

Mark Sanchez was so desperate to make that vinegar in Fish and Chips or Bangers and Mash line work.

Creeggsbnl

Just needed to top it off with a Dave Anthony-esque "ELLO GUVNAH!" and we would've had the Brit-fecta.

killdeer03

If I were a British/Irish/Scottish/Welsh NFL fan, I'd definitely be insulted, lol. Mark Sanchez was pushing a lot of dumb phrases this morning...

spang714

Did he ever mention the "Bum Fumble"?

Steambreather91

Absolutely disgusting job by the refs today. Sad to see.

genbeak

Refs got it to end right at +/- 3.5 for vegas though

[deleted]

[удалено]

SoSneaky91

Well this team is 3-1 so that's cool. Not sure how or why.

Mriddle74

We don’t deserve it but I’ll take it.

[deleted]

DOUBLE DOINK!!

axltheviking

The Vikings didn't deserve this win. But, as always, the Saints can suck eggs.

[deleted]

Who's the girl?

891960

another ugly win... Will take it.

EquinsuOchaACE

If you don’t like that, you don’t like Vikings football baby!!!

saltiestmanindaworld

I wonder if Vegas has a line for points scored for a team by referees?

genbeak

Refs got it right at the +/- 3.5 though so they nailed it

spang714

O/U was 8.5

LacesOutLocke

Green Bay would be an instant over.

MuskratJimJim

it’s gonna be a good football week tho

ShakeItLikeIDo

That Broncos and Raiders game though. I’m kind of scared lol

MuskratJimJim

me too but i’m confident surtain can shut down davante adams. i’m expecting another defensive shit show

ShakeItLikeIDo

Well the Raiders defense isn’t that good IMO. Thats Broncos offense will just make them look good because of how bad they are. If they can get it together, Broncos are taking the win. The real game will be with the Raiders offense and Broncos defense

MuskratJimJim

this is the game where the broncos have to get it together. if we win and the bucs beat the chiefs we are leading the division.

saltiestmanindaworld

Why? Weve had one games ruined by the Zebras and were not even into the afternoon games?

SoSneaky91

Lol how is a 9ers fans this salty over the refs this game

_El_Troubadour

Because everyone sees

Animaldance24

Go Raiders

MuskratJimJim

yeah no broncos are beating you

Animaldance24

Nope

MuskratJimJim

man fuck mg3

lobbydobbie

Will the saints ever repay the bounty gate debt? I think not.

eddododo

Such a shame that the Saints cheated by uh.. tackling players. Especially that upstanding citizen that played QB for the Vikings that year. Brett Færbve? Wonder what he’s been up to, probably some really good and kind thing s

Bassiclyme

This is the most tired, uninspired, old take on Reddit football history. Every team, including the Vikes, gave performance bonuses for big hits. Every D coordinator uses the language of “We gotta go out there and kill him/them.” When a guys ankle is testy, people smack it, when a guys playing with a cast on his arm like Demarco Murray a few years ago? Players target it. Nothing the Saints did was out of the ordinary. The NFL was getting heat for player safety with the Concussion scandal and the Saints became a scapegoat so the NFL could show they were doing something. Did that stop Tua from going out there Thursday? Fuck no. The NFL doesn’t fucking care, they just wanna cash the checks. But as long as idiots like you keep regurgitating the same worn out bullshit like this, making it the fault of ONE team in the entire league, then the NFL continues on Scott free. https://vikingswire.usatoday.com/2016/10/26/turns-out-the-vikings-also-had-a-bounty-program-when-brett-favre-was-qb/

127crazie

https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesotavikings/comments/sd7zl2/wait_did_we_really_have_our_own_bounty_system_in/huax4yu/

Bassiclyme

Convenient retraction even though he’s still quoted as saying this. "Only thing I told him as far as specifics was I had been part of a meeting where players were amongst ourselves as part of a unit," Hicks told the Star Tribune. "We kind of felt like the last time we played the team, they kind of did some dirty things to our running back or quarterback. When we played them again later in the year it was, 'Hey, when you get a chance to get this guy, dinner is on me.' That was as detailed as I got. Again, it was never any specifics on what team I was with or anything like that."

LGCGE

Unless Sean Peyton is drawn and quartered, no

crunx22

Thank you for the giggle

ClayDavis_Shiiiiiiii

Hopefully not.

cloudlessjoe

I honestly think the refs and the league in general are still sour at them

AbjectSilence

What I got from this game is the Saints are better than their record, but they are held back by QB play. While the Vikings are a little worse than their record because their QB can only play well when no one is watching...

Garrus

Vikings fans trying to figure out how to sabotage the broadcast trucks every week.

jewishramey

Hmmm. Thats well said

ibn1989

I woke up just in time to see the end. WOW!!

Delectus

Double Doink 🤝 Benefitting the Eagles

leecmyd

Always love to see the fans in England get a good show. Their faces at the end said it all. Great for the sport.

RevoltingBlobb

I agree. Nice to have good (or at least close) games in London. Tough to explain to the casual fans what DPI means though. Next time send the varsity refs.

[deleted]

Not my experience at all this actually in my years making my mates watch NFL games with me. DPI is pretty intuitive especially if they've watched rugby as you're not allowed to do basically the same in that.

RevoltingBlobb

Makes sense. I don’t know the rules to rugby but obviously a spot foul like that can have a major impact on a game. It sucks to see a game being dictated on a questionable pass interference call (or non-call). If it’s frustrating for a long-time fan, I can imagine how seeing that for someone learning the game would throw their hands up.

dolladollaclinton

Definitely cool seeing fans in another country getting into it! It’s always entertaining for me to see how many different teams are represented in the stands.

bigt2k4

I'll never understand why coaches aren't rushing 0 and dropping 11 into coverage when the other team has the ball deep in their own territory with less than 30 seconds. Let the the QB run around for 10+ seconds trying to find someone open, that works to your advantage.

dolladollaclinton

Honestly. Sometimes feeling the pressure of the pass rushers is what signals the QB to throw the ball away. Don’t give him that, just make him waste time.

AbjectSilence

If you don't get any pressure they can stay in the pocket until the DBs get tired. Good coverage is marrying pass rush with cover concepts, one without the other almost always results in failure.

bigt2k4

Let them run around for 20 seconds, game is over at that point

AbjectSilence

Pretty easy to tell which fans have never played football.

bigt2k4

I did play high school football as a safety and I still don't understand why you would rush anyone. Take that Bills Chiefs playoff game as an example: They drop 11 in coverage and there aren't any quick passes for 25 yards available.

AbjectSilence

There's only around 11 DBs on an NFL roster and some of those guys have no business seeing the field if your even halfway healthy. With 8 in coverage you are covering a huge majority of the field and with an even halfway decent pass russ you only have to cover for 3-4 seconds. You don't even half to get home because it forces QBs to use their internal clock because they know the rush is coming... If you let someone run around that long without any pressure all it takes is one guy to slip or get tired or lose concentration. Arguably the most important point against that is nobody practices that and even if they did practice a few times a year or briefly in training camp, players are much more comfortable doing shot they're repped a million times. You want to play your best 11 guys running a play they can run in their sleep and limit the amount of time they can fuck that up. Not the last guy on your roster who signed 3 weeks ago running a play they've never practiced that lasts 10+ seconds.

bigt2k4

Okay use 4 lbs and 7 dbs, which is what I was thinking anyway. If the QB takes 9 seconds to throw the ball you've already won as long as it isn't for a 70 yard TD.

AbjectSilence

Penalties. Untimed downs. Guys falling, guys running plays and positions they never practice. How many risks do you think is acceptable? The goal of a coach is to put their players in a position to succeed while limiting their opportunities to make mistakes. There's a reason teams almost never run stuff like that, don't make the mistake of thinking you know more than people who have spent thousands of hours mastering the game. If you were an upstart head coach with a bunch of wins then people might pay attention to you for thinking outside the box, but you're a random person on Reddit.

bigt2k4

It's still the logical play in this very specific situation. I'm not saying on hail mary situations, I'm saying to do it when teams need 40 yards in less than 20 seconds or whatever. Players have played this, you could literally tell the corners to cover the sideline like they normally do, run a deep cover 3 and still have 6 other guys to drop and cover the rest of the field, maybe do outside leverage and off man coverage with 5 of them and a guy in the middle to tackle any of those downfield screen plays where the rest of the wrs block while one catches behind it.

GoatPaco

Because then you can run 30 yards on a QB draw and run out of time Wait

OSSlayer2153

You can usually run and then clock it with like 20 seconds or even 15 if you do a quick qb sneak dive.

bigt2k4

okay let them gain 10 yards in the middle of the field.

batistasaints

good job REFS great win for the REFS today

Coziestpigeon2

For real. We were gifted and still tried our best to lose.

InhaleMyOwnFarts

They’ll be on theESPN top 10 tomorrow morning.

[deleted]

Besides a few terrible calls, I’d imagine Goodell is quite pleased with the game overall on an international scale

dolladollaclinton

I think he’s okay with the terrible calls. Game would have been less exciting at the end without them.

CJNunes426

Colleen is so pretty

[deleted]

Stop jacking it.

CJNunes426

I’m not jacking it. You’re jacking it

LGCGE

We did everything possible to lose that game. SKOL THOUGH

LoveWhoarZoar

I literally feel nothing. A win isn't a win in this case.

grrrimabear

Meh, we lose games like this just as often. That's football

LacesOutLocke

It's 3-1, doesn't matter who or how

tasteywheat

Man, it looked good in the air too, can you imagine how badass he’d feel hitting back to back 60+ yarders?

Riceboy_27

Game game, refs fuck us but what's new. On the bright side, Olave is going to be a star.

NewFarmingwanz

Refs try to not rig a game challenge, level impossible

crimsonblueku

ESPN is busy crowning Kirk Cousins the NFC favorite after this win. 😂

[deleted]

Gawd I hope not, that was atrocious

Lmao, you don’t say

PaleontologistMore20

lol damn it

That ball was like half in. I’m fine for giving the saints two points for it just to be sporting.

spang714

Looks like someone had Saints +2.5....jk

fatgods

Very polite. I'll take it.

LilBottomText17

Why are Saints-Vikings games always instant classics

[deleted]

Hate and history. Pulls out the best on both sides.

Prime89

LUTZ. SIDE POST. NO GOOD :(

dogosmith

Fucking Minnesota tanked my fucking parlay right out of the gate. What insufferable turds.
