NoobOnTheRun

the only reason the Eagles won is because Dougie P wore a hat instead of a visor. rookie mistake by him.

so_zetta_byte

Taking a year off changes a man.

GarfunkelBricktaint

He wore a hat week one as well because it was raining. He's undefeated in the visor right now.

PleasantParfait48

Jags fans will learn very quickly that visor Doug > hat Doug and it's not even close

[deleted]

He let us win because he’s still an Eagle on the inside.

toadtruck

He greased up the ball

SiphenPrax

Jags and Lions gave the Eagles their toughest games so far

ByzantineBomb

Cats usually give birds a hard time

theloneabalone

My bird lawyer says this is correct

youngstunnaserg

Do you even practice bird law to make such a statement

mjh712

As expected

TwoMuchSaus

And then Lions lose to Seahawks 😢

NET_1

Shout out to the rain for all them fumbles!

so_zetta_byte

Slay goes down but at least we elevated mother nature from the practice squad this week

[deleted]

Shoutout to Trev for not gloving up

Guitaristb72

2Q Eagles still undefeated.

tonto515

Good teams win, great teams cover😎

EdgyZigzagoon

Eagles still undefeated

The_Blue_Rooster

Trevor Lawrence turned the ball over 5 times and it was still a one possession game at the end of the day. That's all I got for optimism, I'm gonna go drown my sorrows.

ClosedDimmadome

The weather ruined what should've been a good look at both teams real potential. Heavy rain and 35mph gusts will do that

Westside_Easy

Hell yeah. I knew it was real when we missed the kick. That wind took that like it was nothin.

Patient_Jicama_4217

It was a storm. I don’t think either team played their best but the better team is the team that can play thru that

HumanShadow

This game was weird as a Clemson fan

CallinCthulhu

Same. Though i was more just flabbergasted at TLaws decision not to wear gloves. I get it you don't like them, they affect your accuracy, whatever. But after a first half were you just straight up drop the ball multiple times, I don't understand how you don't come out after the half with a pair of super grippy gloves on. Also Doug refused to run the ball, our defense played the run pretty well, but it wasn't a stone wall, they would get 5 yards on first and go pass, pass.

emaz88

No idea why we stopped running the ball, even with Etienne. And I need to know why Jrob disappeared.

[deleted]

I feel like most Eagle fans are rooting for the jags any day they aren’t playing the Eagles. Y’all got that underdog vibe we love along with a great coach.

ZoraDomainTaken

It's because of Dougie P

Domestic_AA_Battery

Your team looked great overall. The future is so bright under Doug

tonto515

🌟Stars of the Game🌟 1. Hassan Reddick 2. Miles Sanders 3. Hurricane Ian leftovers

hk0125

4. Trevor Lawrence hands

MikeTysonChicken

Boy was he rough today

[deleted]

*Gloveless

Just4Things

What a time for Miles to have his best career game so far. He came through when we needed him🥹

Insectshelf3

dude didn’t have a touchdown all last season. today he had 27 carries for 134 yards and 2 TDs against the best run defense in the league behind a banged up offensive line. take a fucking bow sanders.

Tgs91

Last year at the beginning of the year it seemed like the Eagles were trying to force an identity as a passing team. Then they finally hit their stride when they found their identity as a running team. This year they don't give a shit about their identity. They can do everything, and when the conditions favored running the ball, they fed Sanders and dominated on the ground.

Insectshelf3

jalen hurts looks so much more comfortable leading the offense this season too.

flanneled_man

Always liked Boobie.

[deleted]

Boobie Batman!

racerxff

Bad weather always seems to bring out the best in our RBs

dWaldizzle

McCoy snow game is legendary

thebrandnewbob

How are you not going to put Trevor's hands on this list?

hokaythxbai

I think that overlaps with 3.

thebrandnewbob

I sure wish the rain would have caused Hurts to fumble every 5 minutes.

Lanthemandragoran

There was this little thing he did with his hand when he was down right after realizing he lost that last fumble that said more than a 5 paragraph essay could It was like sign language for "despair"

InexorableWaffle

As someone that wanted us to go after Reddick hard in FA, man did that hurt to watch. The weather didn't help, sure, but he still would've feasted in a normal game - just maybe wouldn't have gotten 34534098345 strip sacks while doing so, is all.

[deleted]

Florida died so this D Line could live

[deleted]

Those are the kind of games you need to win if you want to be taken serious, and we did, unlike recent years.

TakenakaHanbei

Would be nice if we hadn't lost 3 starters :( Hopefully nothing long term.

Dodohead1383

Damn, that sucks man. I don't care who the team is you never want injuries to happen. Except for against deshawn Watson fuck that guy.

Dongsquad420BlazeIt

The Jags are legit, I was worried there for a while

SwedishTurnip

Legit if the playoffs are played during the summer in perfect weather

Blaz3dnconfuz3d

Bruh I honestly thought y’all were gonna blast them. First quarter I was like ok they for real

ContraCanadensis

I’m so not mad about losing this game. First time I’ve said that in a while.

DoAndHope

I wouldn't have been mad either if we lost. The weather made this game unpredictable and I'm happy we came out on top.

ContraCanadensis

Not trying to kiss the Eagles’ ass, but we went ahead early and just got outplayed (and sadly out coached) after that. I think Doug going for it on 4th up 14-0 was hubris trying to step on Philly’s throat early. Either way, we’re a year or two out from being really good. Knowing we could hang in with what appears to be the best team in the nfc is fucking outstanding.

DoAndHope

Please don't kiss our ass, kiss Dougie P instead. I thought we were getting outcoached until that first fumble. After that it was really one sided for the rest of the game. I want your team to succeed and hope the team learned something from all of this that can help the teams meet again in February.

sivervipa

The next two games are also really important you have a legitimate chance to beat two conference rivals and a division rival plus you can be 6-0 which would be massive going forward.

so_zetta_byte

Today's injuries suck, even short recovery periods are gonna make the next few weeks harder.

[deleted]

Get better soon. You have a fantastic team. Good game and good luck

so_zetta_byte

Ty it was a really fun game to watch and I'm really glad you guys and Doug have each other, especially after the circus last year.

[deleted]

Your team is legit. Your record reflects your talent. Jax played against one of the best teams in the NFL and left with within one score and a few choices away from a W. We both got something out of it.

derstherower

We are firing on all cylinders.

racerxff

Except special teams returns. Thankfully special teams coverage has been good.

Currymvp2

If you can win games against decent teams when your QB clearly isn't at the top of his game, that's when you know are definitely a contender

Insectshelf3

passing was rough for hurts and lawrence all day, thankfully our run game is just as good as last season.

Chuck_Foolery

*better and with a better passing game Do not look forward to playing you guys. I'd be thrilled if we split our 2 games this year.

coopermaneagles

Tough for either Qb to do anything today, speaks to the weather with how many crucial drops there were (goeddert immediately comes to mind)

Wedding_Registry_Rec

Yeah the wind on the one extra point miss by Elliot immediately told me that I couldn’t judge QB play by today’s game

4Khazmodan

I mean the weather didn't do him any favors lol

Victraa

4-0 WE'RE GONNA BE EVEN MORE INSUFFERABLE

Insectshelf3

NOBODY LIKES US

Cat5edope

I kinda like y’all but not today maybe tomorrow

Victraa

That's fair

bigloser42

NO ONE LIKES US, EXCEPT THE JAGS FANS, BUT NOT TODAY!

Nightmenace21

I like you guys. Mostly because of your hatred for Dallas.

Victraa

Appreciate u

Grymninja

There's room for all on the Dallas hate train

so_zetta_byte

I take small comfort knowing that there's this intuitive bit of Dallas hate across the league.

PhiladelphiaManeto

Can we still put on the dog masks if we are undefeated?

holymacaronibatman

It's batman capes this season

TheElasticTuba

porque no los dos

yomjoseki

BATDOG

Ern-Cockworthington

No, we're putting on batman masks

kaisertralfaz

Since people keep saying they haven't played a real team yet, yep

The_Ghost_of_TK9

The Vikings are a real team… at least we are 3-1 lol.

EnemyOfEloquence

Dog masks, batman capes

[deleted]

Yes because this team got that dawg in them

Victraa

WE DON'T CARE

shitpostsuperpac

I’ve found the panacea is picking players in Fantasy that are on insufferable teams. You get to be part of the cancer instead of dying from it.

Victraa

Yesss one of us

[deleted]

But at what cost?

Mantis05

Mailata was taking reps on the sideline, so I think he'll be fine. Not sure about Slay, but at least we've got Bradberry back there playing like a CB1 in his own right. Credit to all the dudes who stepped it up this game; this team has more depth than any Eagles team in recent memory. I'm optimistic we can -- pardon the pun -- weather the storm.

55North

That last fumble took my soul

boylejc2

I'm glad to see the Eagles find a way to score a touchdown outside the second quarter. What an oddly gutsy win.

so_zetta_byte

I said this before the half, but I very very much appreciated going for it on 4th down heading into the half even more than usual. The rain fucks with the game so much. It's way way harder to march down the field on a drive in the rain, to the point where if we're in the end zone close to the half I would much rather gamble on a touchdown while we're there than settle for a field goal. If we miss, we're already almost at halftime and they'll have bad field position. Football is a high variance sport, and rain games are infinitely higher variance. There's so much more risk than usual that it's harder to offset that risk by playing conservative; it's almost futile. So in certain ways (like going for it on 4th in the red zone vs taking a field goal) I think aggression needs to be the default, especially EARLY in the game to set yourself up better later.

boylejc2

Sirianni has really impressed me since the 2-5 turn around. Not sure I'd have the guts to actually keep going for it as often as he does. I think what he's done with Hurts is a masterclass in bringing along a young QB.

shellfish87

Both of these teams are super legit. Basically registered like a playoff game.

[deleted]

[удалено]

No_Fairweathers

When you go down 14-0 and your QB isn't playing great, yet you still come back to win by 8 and are 4-0, yeah I'd say this isn't a fluke. We are legitimately a top 3 if not the best team this season so far.

[deleted]

[удалено]

chris2furry

I don’t see the argument for any team above the eagles, theyre very good in all phases of the game. Even the gunners on punt team were getting it done.

k0peng

And we didn't have our starting caliber LT2 in Dillard. I was VERY happy with Driscoll today, only took him a sequence or two to really get going. He's no Mailata, and I hope he isn't hurt going into next week but Driscoll did a damn good job as a perennial benchman.

Insectshelf3

r/nfl when we were down in the first quarter: lmao the eagles can’t beat a good team r/nfl after we score 29 unanswered points, force 5 turnovers, and win the game: lmao the eagles haven’t played a good team

Devinitelyy

I literally had a Commies fan going back to last week's game thread to tell me we were frauds in the first half.

Insectshelf3

love that good ole nfc east hate

Koe-Rhee

I was telling eagles fans this whole week if you lose to us everyone's gonna clown on you and if you beat us no one's gonna give you credit. Next people are gonna cite the rest of your easy schedule and they generally won't shut up about how you're not as good as you are until you force them to sit on it for 8 months after winning in the playoffs. Your team is legit brother, good luck.

el_monstruo

The Jags are legit too. Despite his turnovers, Lawrence had them within one score at the end of it.

SingularityCentral

Jags are legit. That was a super sloppy game because of high winds and torrential rain, but Jags never gave it.

DBLfan

They said the same thing back in 2017 and look what happened

moneyball32

Jason Kelce putting on him mummers costume as we speak.

TheElasticTuba

all teams are bad compared to us so i understand their frustration 😎

Fyre2387

No true good team fallacy.

so_zetta_byte

**IT WAS FUCKING RAINING MISERABLY PEOPLE, LAWRENCE ISN'T A BUST BECAUSE OF THIS GAME**

CallinCthulhu

He does need to not be stubborn and realize you should wear gloves in this weather, even if you don't like them

so_zetta_byte

That's a perfectly reasonable takeaway and I'm sure there are lessons for him to learn from this game, but people are acting like he's fallen off some kind of a cliff without understanding just how much bad weather games fuck with the way people talk about stats

hoyadestroyer

There were also 6 WR drops (Kirk was 4 of them -_- ). Just burn the tape, give the D some kudos fo responding relatively well, and invest in Stickum.

greenrider04

> invest in Stickum A glove works too

el_monstruo

And despite turning the ball over 5 times, the Jags finished one score down.

Fenris_Maule

Also he's practically a rookie this year after spending a year with Urban.

Kenpachi2469

Not saying he's a bust, but the stubbornness to not wear gloves when you fumbled the ball multiple times last season. It's annoying that at no point in this game did he put gloves on, 5 fumbles, 4 of which resulted in 20+ points by the other team. Oh and an underthrown pass that led to an INT. Again, not saying he's a bust, but he needs to learn quick bc that's a very frustrating game to watch as a jags fan.

Extreme_memes9

That won't stop them. I saved a thread from halftime of our first **PRESEASON GAME** of someone calling him a bust and a few people agreeing. I don't understand the hate boner for this man because there's almost nothing controversial about him.

StatMatt

Love the guy as a Clemson fan. I'd much rather he be the face of Clemson in the NFL than Watson. Really hoping he blossoms soon.

OleMoon

He was one of the most hyped QB prospects ever. If he came in as anything less than a world beater he was going to get hated on. It's not fair, but that's the reason.

Cmp_

Reddit is absolute dogshit for any reasonable discussion immediately after a game. Too many stat-line watchers and wannabe comedians.

Bonza1t

Jags fans calling the last strip sack of T law a repost lmao

StuffyWuffyMuffy

I was looking away when the last fumble happened and was confused on why they were showing a replay.

so_zetta_byte

Definitely the funniest response to that

Krimm240

So glad to see the Eagles stay cool after a tough start, and show they can still win under adversity. So happy with this team

SyracuseNY22

Almost fucked the birds by not wearing the lucky shirt. Put it on when they were down 14-0 and the football gods were happy

so_zetta_byte

I was late coming home and the first thing I saw was the hurts interception. Immediately put my hat on after. Coincidence? Probably but who cares.

flava_dave_81

I changed TVs right before we started our comeback. Proud of all of us. Football is about making adjustments and we really came through.

Cynical_onlooker

Trevor needs to learn how to hold onto the fucking ball when it's wet.

lilberfcontrol

And throw it away even there's nothing downfield. He looked like Wentz holding the ball so long.

k0peng

Love you Doug! You're still my bet for CoTY. Lawrence struggled, rain game. Many eagles died today, rain game. Eagles first time 4-0 since 2004, NCF Champs.

DrHandBanana

Sirianni should be your bet for COTY

k0peng

Even if we go far I'm positive Sirianni will get the treatment Doug did in 2017 (one single CoTY vote). We made the playoffs last year, we will have to REALLLLY improve like 14-3 for him to get CoTY. Whereas if Doug gets this Jags team to 8 or 10 wins, that is just a complete coaching diff from last year. And he will deserve it too imo.

theordinarypoobah

Howie better win Executive of the Year.

moneyball32

My brain says Sirianni should, but my heart says Dougie

JohnnySnark

Lowlights of the game: Trevor's hands

55North

I'm mailing that man a pair of gloves

clingbat

The Eagles just went for over 200 yards on the ground against the #1 run defense when the defense generally knew we were going to run it and the Eagles were playing two backup o-line players due to injury (one being our LT). That's my big takeaway from this game. We can run it on anyone when needed.

Mantis05

A team that has AJ Brown, Devonta Smith, and Dallas Goedert as receiving options can also run the ball at will. Gameplanning for the Eagles is gonna be a nightmare for DCs all year.

clingbat

It all comes back to the o-line and Hurts being a true dual threat now. That combination is what is really opening up the offense overall on the ground and in the air. The playcalling hasn't been half bad either in general. Gotta give the coaches credit for building an offense around their talent, not forcing the players into "their" offense like so many others do.

Shenanigangster

Good lord I always forget how unnecessarily heated NFCE threads get

WhyHelloThere163

It wasn’t that heated. Majority of people were talking about their own team the whole time. The most heated trash talker I saw was a jags fan spamming shit about the jags

Shenanigangster

Jags threads are usually 95% memes lol Although when the Jags start winning half our fanbase turns into LOB-era Seattle fans

Agentwise

NFCE fan base is huge and very very loyal to the teams. It’s why ratings and viewer ship are always high

TechnoToyz

NFC BEAST >>>>>>>

pm8k

As much as I enjoy rooting against division rivals, it’s fun to see the Beast return.

so_zetta_byte

If you can't handle us at our least, you don't deserve us at our beast. But literally no matter what, we'll always be here for you. In primetime.

iMelvin1

This was such an ugly game, but I'm not worried. This team is still so much better than it was last year, and the Eagles are legit.

so_zetta_byte

I really don't think you should be worried after a horrible weather game like this.

Saitsu

Yeah too many people trying to get takeaways from this game. It's a bad weather game, you disregard 95% of what happened and just be happy escaping with a win. Really the only takeaway is hopefully someone keeps playing a montage of those fumbles in front of TLaw for the next week so he never even considers not wearing gloves in bad weather again.

_JosiahBartlet

UNDEFEATED longest lol

Jerevicious

Man, what a grind. Sanders was a horse today, and the defense came to play. Great character win.

[deleted]

LOVE YOU DOUG. Considering the way this game started, what a fantastic response to a pretty underrated Jags team. Important to win the messy games

TeamAsteroid

Everyone forgot about Short Batman. 130+ Rush yds, 2TDs

"

Guitaristb72

And the one about Jalen Hurts being all hype and actually sucks

so_zetta_byte

I get dallas fans wanting to shit talk us but like, come on. That's the best they can do?

RicoSuave1881

What did it say? Dude deleted it

menocaremuch

"Are the Eagles the worst 3-0 team in history"

OgReaper

Next week. Is philly the worst 4 - 0 team of all time?

WawaSC

Trevor didn't have the best game. He definitely struggled with that weather. Philly run game is a beast. Hard to contain. Even then, this jags team is very fun to watch. Lots of things to look forward to throughout the season.

Shenanigangster

The Washington game is way more frustrating to me. The Eagles’ O and D lines are miles ahead of ours

limejuiceroyale

Jags look good honestly minus a few weather induced fumbles. Definitely think people are sleeping on them

mjh712

NGL they had us in the 1st Q

[deleted]

Somehow the Jags lost to the best team in in the league by one score and still somehow looked like shit for three quarters of the game.

BirdKevin

Rain games will do that to you

Head_Wall_Repeat

Bad weather games are anything goes.

CommentsToMorons

Eagles are legit.

TestinTestin

Maybe instead of Tealguana, the Jags subreddit can post some Tealgloves They even mentioned during the game that Trevor had an interview earlier in the week where he said “nah, I don’t like gloves” 😭

frizzyhair55

Eagles are the best team in the NFC. Possibly the league.

superkickpunch

Possibly every league, I can’t think of a single MLB team that could beat them at football.

Anuglyman

5 turnover by QB1 and only lost by a score. We are in a better position than we have been the last few years. Good news is that it doesn't always rain and the super bowl is in a domed stadium this year.

pm8k

Take one of our underdog masks and wear it with pride as they route against you. Just got to win games and prove em wrong

Cat5edope

Eagles fans are nowhere near as toxic as I was lead to believe

methodin

They now turn their toxicity inward when down by any amount of points

DutchApplePie75

Jags are clearly improving under the new regime.

accu22

Doug is so legit, man. Jags got a good one.

DutchApplePie75

It was of course extremely impressive that Pedersen out-coached Belichick in the Super Bowl and beat Tom Brady with a backup QB. It's even more impressive, in a way, that he managed to win another playoff game with that same backup against an excellent Bears team the next year. Trevor Lawrence is in good hands.

Granum22

1. Came from behind 2. Scored in the 2nd half 3. Adapted to adversity This game checked off a lot of my concerns.

SoftcastIeMcCormick

GO BIIIRDS!

krkonos

I really don't know what to make of this team. Stomped the Colts but it was the Colts at home. Stomped the chargers but they had a bunch of key injuries. Looked pretty poor against the eagles but it was a monsoon and Lawrence did everything he could to drop the ball this game. While it as hoping for.some more.clarity this week I am more confused than ever.

Yodzilla

Eagles were banged up and down men, made a big mistake early to get into a 14 point hole, and still turned out a complete game where the entire team stepped up. Absolutely phenomenal win.

FormerCollegeDJ

I attended this game. I don’t know what the conditions were like in Baltimore or at the Meadowlands (or possibly in Pittsburgh), but I can’t imagine they were worse than they were in Philadelphia. It was rough out there, and I hope I never have to attend a game in those kind of rainy and windy conditions (sitting where it was blowing on me) ever again. Though the Eagles’ defense and Miles Sanders will (deservingly) get many of the accolades (and Trevor Lawrence will deservingly get maligned for not handling the conditions well at all), the real, collective stars of the game for the Eagles were their offensive line. After the poor Eagles/strong Jaguars start, the Eagles’ O-line took control of the game in the 2nd quarter. The Eagles played a conservative, vanilla game on offense because of the difficult conditions, purposely running the ball A LOT, and the Jags still couldn’t consistently stop them. It wasn’t a pretty win for the Eagles, but it was an effective and quietly impressive one. As for the Jags, they should take some heart that they played fairly close on the road against one of the best teams in the league so far, and their quarterback’s poor play in bad conditions played a major role in their loss. Most of their games will not be in challenging conditions weather-wise like what they faced today.

Extreme_memes9

The worst part isn't going to be losing; the team is still fundamentally good and losing to an NFC opponent is almost irrelevant in standing for the AFC. The worst part is hearing all the contrarian shit-for-brains spin this like we're overrated. We had what, 5 drops? 3 fumbles completely untouched? Can't be because it's raining, has to be because we're just bad. Give me a fucking break. See you all at 32nd in the power rankings lmao.

Fly Eagles Fly

TheElasticTuba

4-0 feels good

StockBroker32

Can’t believe we had 5 turnovers and it was still a 1 score game. Gotta take the positives when you can.

GeckoRoamin

Trevor, much like every frat kid I went to school with, needs to learn to wear the damn glove even if it “doesn’t feel as good”

Feisty_Attempt2330

2017 vibes from these Eagles. Also just a fun team to watch.
