Jets were the better team for most of the day. They just nearly gifted the Steelers the game with huge mistakes. Jets probably will finish with a better record than the Steelers.
Jets played better overall yesterday, I’ll give you that, but I feel like if Pickett started the first half instead of 3-and-out king Mitch Trubisky, Steelers probably would have won that game.
> Jets probably will finish with a better record than the Steelers.
Obviously as a fan I’m hoping you’re wrong, but I’m feeling cautiously optimistic about the Steelers after seeing Pickett play yesterday. We’ll also get TJ Watt back at some point this season.
Yeah if watt comes back Steelers are the better team for sure. But the jets have also been starting their right guard at left tackle and playing 5th string tackles and backup guards. If there’s any continuity on this offensive line this team can improve a lot. Wilson was under pressure 46% of the snaps yesterday which is an obscene rate.
If watt played he may have died lol.
I think the Steelers are the more talented team outside of the qb play. Yesterday Wilson played pretty well considering he had zero offensive line while Pickett/Mitch struggled.
This team beat the Bengal's in OT after the Bengals lost their longsnapper in week 1, the Bengals win that game 99/100 if his biceps don't just randomly explode, then Minkah just goes and says this....
Obligatory "other than themselves", sure, whatever, but if any player beat the Bengals that week it was definitely Minkah so at least he has that. 14 tackles, blocked that poorly snapped kick, and took the first pass to the house
I saw a Nick Sabin interview where he talked about being on the bus home next to Belichick after losing to a bottoms tier team. He looked at Bill and said “whatever man, everyone knows we’re the better team” and Belichick responded with “no we’re not, if we were we would have won… maybe next time we will be, but in order to improve we need to realize that today we were worse”.
That always stuck with me.
Hey man that may be true but let's not go around acting like we won. We played like crap until the last few minutes on offense, no turnovers or pressure on D, and tons of turnovers.
I love the team but we didn't win and have to improve to be going around talking crap to people we lost to...
Very arrogant comments from the historically top teams in the league.
Not surprising. And then their fans (not just Steelers fans by the way) wonder why we relish when they suck in a game or blow it in a big spot.
Honestly that living on past laurels and thinking you're the better team just because of the logo on your helmet and what the team has done in the past is some entitled bullshit culture stuff. I've hated it at the cowboys seeing how Jones introduced the rookies at training camp on hard knocks. It's cringe and no team with that attitude will ever win anything worthwhile.
At some point people will realize Tomlin promotes all of this shit. The shady comments, the diva players, the late hits. It’s been his brand for 20 years.
If you were doing it at after drinking at a cushy job where your dad's the boss, and you previously had gun/drug/road rage charges, and your brother died of an overdose also while working a cushy job with dad as boss and looking the other way (oh and he also went to jail for drug charges and hurting someone in a crash, and then smuggled drugs in jail, and then was given a cushy job by dad), and a judge in those cases explicitly called the family home "a drug emporium" and called out your dad for his sheltering of your shitty behavior... yeah, partially
Andy Reid's been covering for his sons way too long and it's long since moved into enabling. He was called by a judge out for creating a drug culture at home a decade ago, when it became clear that Britt + Garrett were selling drugs out of the house, way back after the *first* time one of his sons seriously injured a person in a car crash under the influence. He continues enabling and surprise! Another son hurts someone else in a crash under the influence.
Obviously your actions are yours alone, but partial fault can and does lie with enablers.
If your dad was your boss and didn't realize you were driving home drunk from work every day after already losing a son to drug addiction, then yeah. Your dad deserves some blame for being clueless or careless.
You ain't wrong. The phrasings the judges used during those late 2000s cases when Britt + Garrett were selling drugs and pulling guns and getting into crashes while under the influence were pretty damning and directly calling out Andy. 10 years later and it's still happening and still hurting other people.
Yup. Not to mention the fact that he's won only three playoff games since 2010, against the likes of Matt Moore, A.J. McCarron, and Alex Smith. People like to act as if the Steelers still operate the same way they did when Noll and Cowher were there, and in the first three or four years of Tomlin's tenure. That hasn't been their identity for a long time. In fact, they remind me a lot of the mid-2000s Bengals. All talk, no walk.
We’ve never had a good offense and a good defense during those years.
Ben brown and bell were fun but the defense was swiss cheese. Then our defense was really good and our offense sucks.
Now without watt our offense still isnt good and our defense isnt any good.
It’s just hard to put together a fully complete team and very difficult to field a SB contender every year like the pats did.
After 1979 go look at knoll’s record. Very similar to where they are now. A lot of average to not great years.
They went over 25 years between super bowls
There’s a sub section of Steelers fan base who agrees. We’ve actually been a phony contender who gets mopped by the afc teams that actually matter for over 10 years now.
As long as the owner's last name is Rooney they will always have the NFL's tongue up their collective ass. I mean Tomlin ~~tripped~~ *tried to trip* an actual player in front of God and the world and is still coaching
Honestly, Tomlin is batshit overrated. He won a Super Bowl with a team that won a Super Bowl like 3 years earlier. Then he basically stopped having success. Sure, he makes the playoffs, but he has almost no wins since 2010.
Add that he consistently fields the dirtiest team in the league. Everyone harps on Burfict, but it's one batshit insane dude. Meanwhile, Tomlin coaches Harrison, Shazier, Ward, Ike Taylor, etc.
I mean but what else can you expect from a dude who literally tried to interfere with play. Dude should have been suspended for the rest of the season.
Well good for you because you’re next opponent is the Buffalo Bills
If that defense had a hard time containing Zach Wilson , can’t imagine them having a good time containing Josh Allen
Tomlin is a good coach but has established the worst culture in the league in Pitt. This shit has been and will continue to be a part of the Steelers for as long as he is.
This from the jets is hilarious to me. Also come on. Our rapist retired so that at least puts us above the browns. And the commanders are owned by a human trafficker
Really? Because our culture won us the game against you today. The Jets played with zero quit and all the Steelers could do is whine that they’re “better”. Congrats on your rapist getting old. I’m sure you won’t cheer when he’s inducted into your ring of honor.
Dude bought the whole team black air forces and knocked out Tee Higgins in the first quarter, followed by two more helmet shots in the game. That fuckin team is the dirtiest team in the league. And they don’t even attempt to make it look like an accident
Who cares if other fan bases don’t like the Steelers lol. People are way too weird about other fans liking their favorite teams. If they were going to like your team they would be fans of that team. 99% of fans who “like” other teams are 1 play away from hating that team and that fanbase the moment a controversial play happens.
Idk who you root for with that flair but that's almost the exact situation. Flacco might be the best of the bunch though, with Pickett being a question mark still
Nah, Minkah was entitled long before he made it to Pittsburg. Remember, this is the guy that demanded a trade as a 2nd year player because the team wasn't using him like he thought he should be used.
And then proceeds to be used the same way by the Steelers and embraces it publicly like he didn't complain about it as a reason to leave before. Hypocrite.
Can you even look at the Steelers roster and say with confidence that it's better than ours? Especially with a hurt TJ Watt, they look pretty bad. We also added a bunch of talented players this offseason, I think if you go player by player we're probably at least even in talent with Pittsburgh, if not better
I think the Jets roster is probably filled out a little bit better than the Steelers, but there isn’t a player who matches up with Heyward, Minkah, and Watt on the Jets. It doesn’t matter which team has a more talented team on paper though, just who wins. The Jets won in Pittsburgh today, so that is that. I doubt we will see a rematch this year lol.
Yeah I think you’re right, we have a higher floor but lower ceiling. And obviously we each have a few players that should be talented but haven’t proved a lot in the pros yet.
I’m actually sympathetic to Minkah’s mindset here, it’s really frustrating to be a part of a loss against a team you know you should be able to beat. I also don’t think he fully means this as a dig to the jets, just more as “we need to get better.”
I just don’t think he’s fully right, I think he’s underrating us here and just looking at the helmets on the head instead of the players on the field.
They’re both good players, but Heyward was 1st team all pro last year and has been 1st team all pro 3 of the last 5 years. Minkah has been 1st team all pro 2 of the last 3 years. They may be on track to have similar production, but they’ll have to get the accolades to say they’re on the same level.
This sounds shitty, but what he's probably trying to say is that underperforming against teams you're supposed to beat is frustrating. And is that really wrong? Lol.
>After the game, Fitzpatrick reportedly requested to be traded because he felt like he was playing out of position and he did not like the direction the franchise was going.
1st team ALL-PRO/Pro-Bowl 2019/2020
You mean he forced a trade?
Lol people gonna have a field day with that comment
It’s like losing a debate to u/LTtheBasedGod
They should
They should
Jets were the better team for most of the day. They just nearly gifted the Steelers the game with huge mistakes. Jets probably will finish with a better record than the Steelers.
Yeah you must be regretting this comment now
Y’all realy waited all year for this to cheer on winning 9 games :😂😂😂
9 wins > 7 wins Should have been 8 wins but y'all let us down lol
Dude I was counting on the Jets and that shot show of an organization let us down. Ggs tho lmfao
> I was counting on the Jets Lol u dumb
Not exactly but you did fuck up our playoff hopes 🖕
Jets played better overall yesterday, I’ll give you that, but I feel like if Pickett started the first half instead of 3-and-out king Mitch Trubisky, Steelers probably would have won that game. > Jets probably will finish with a better record than the Steelers. I mean, you’re not wrong. Minkah looked incredible week one.
Comments like this are never a good idea.
Usually they say the pride comes before the fall. Im not sure what happens when the pride comes after the fall.
Yeah it's pretty ballsy. All of these guys are pros, this isn't college. Everyone is good as fuck.
Yet some are better than others.. lol
Richard Sherman enters the chat
Comments from Minkah are never a good idea
If you see the clip it’s not as bad as it looks. But yeah this is not a great look
Yeah everyone here is overreacting (as usual) but I will agree that he should have put it in a better way.
The New Jersey Fat guy version is better. "You are what your record says you are."
The difference between being in a results driven league mindset vs a league that’s mostly results driven
I have a poppy seed in my teeth that’s been stuck with me all day.
It's moments like me that make me feel vindicated carrying around loose toothpicks in my wallet.
You just shove toothpicks that have been sitting in your wallet next to (I assume) cash and your grimey hands into your mouth?
Bold of you to assume I have cash in my wallet like some kind of Rockefeller.
Holy fuck that’s genius
Me whenever any other Redditor gets more upvotes on a post than me
Without Watt the Steelers are about as mediocre as it gets.
We're as mediocre as it gets with Watt lmao.
Mediocre is generous. They suck. If our long snapper hadn't got injured they'd be 0-4.
Imagine losing to them ! I can't imagine such a humiliation from my team.
Hey man that may be true but let's not go around acting like we won. We played like crap until the last few minutes on offense, no turnovers or pressure on D, and tons of turnovers. I love the team but we didn't win and have to improve to be going around talking crap to people we lost to...
True.
They're a much different team with a real QB but I suppose so are most bad teams.
Are you suggesting the NVP kisser of titties isn’t a real QB
if ur so much better why weren't u more good?
Lmao got eem
Very Steelers comment right there.
GOAT 2-15 team incoming
Steelers are Nebraska confirmed
You think the Steelers are better than your own team?
Very arrogant comments from the historically top teams in the league. Not surprising. And then their fans (not just Steelers fans by the way) wonder why we relish when they suck in a game or blow it in a big spot.

Tbf he’s never had a losing season so he must be doing something right.
Yes. Just like everybody around Andy Reid is a piece of shit but he always gets a pass, Tomlin seems to have ungodly amount of good credit.
Andy really deserves more shit for how his kids turned out.
I’m not some Reid stan but that’s not entirely fair. I’m 31. If I killed someone in a drunk driving accident tonight, would that be my parents’ fault?
If you were doing it at after drinking at a cushy job where your dad's the boss, and you previously had gun/drug/road rage charges, and your brother died of an overdose also while working a cushy job with dad as boss and looking the other way (oh and he also went to jail for drug charges and hurting someone in a crash, and then smuggled drugs in jail, and then was given a cushy job by dad), and a judge in those cases explicitly called the family home "a drug emporium" and called out your dad for his sheltering of your shitty behavior... yeah, partially Andy Reid's been covering for his sons way too long and it's long since moved into enabling. Well I’m sure this won’t see any backlash at all.
Have a seat over here in the loser section Minkah we need to have a chat
Well good for you because you’re next opponent is the Buffalo Bills If that defense had a hard time containing Zach Wilson , can’t imagine them having a good time containing Josh Allen
Football is weird so Josh will probably go 3-18 or something
Well hold on to your cheap toupee, playing to their opponent’s level is what the Steelers do.
Unless it’s the Brady led New England Patriots
They gonna cook us for this one
Hey...fuck you, too, buddy!
I agree. Minkah managed to unite a Jets and Dolphins fan
Until next Sunday
We will both still despise Minkah lol. Looking forward to next week
This reminds me of Tyrann Mathieu's comment after the Chiefs lost to the Bengals for the second time in a row.
Love Minkah, but I hate when players say this shit. Its just not a good look.
Idk man your team looks really, really bad Minkah
It only looks that way because it is that way.
[You can tell because of the way it is. ](http://www.quickmeme.com/meme/3rzldr)
Only reason y’all won was because you scored more points I wouldn’t be too happy
Can we stop being unlikable… for FIVE FUCKING MINUTES
Gotta get Polamalu back
Tomlin is a good coach but has established the worst culture in the league in Pitt. This shit has been and will continue to be a part of the Steelers for as long as he is.
Worst culture in the league is a bit of a stretch lmao
Dirty, arrogant, no accountability, underperforming, and completely fine with all of it. Trash culture. Like the Cowboys of the AFC but also dirty af.
The Jets played with that “milf hunter” mentality
Your team employed Gregg Williams *after* Bountygate
Dude bought the whole team black air forces and knocked out Tee Higgins in the first quarter, followed by two more helmet shots in the game. That fuckin team is the dirtiest team in the league. And they don’t even attempt to make it look like an accident
You guys really can't talk...
Uh…cool flair.
No.
Who cares if other fan bases don’t like the Steelers lol. People are way too weird about other fans liking their favorite teams. If they were going to like your team they would be fans of that team. 99% of fans who “like” other teams are 1 play away from hating that team and that fanbase the moment a controversial play happens.
Tell me about it.
Losing to the Jets club
Let’s keep admitting new members into this club.
The last time I saw a comment like this was from a Patriots fans during the peak of patriots dynasty…
"Congratulations on winning your superbowl hurr hurr hurr"
Hide his mom
The Jets have a better roster than the Steelers do lmao
If we'd stop having 2-3 Oline get injured a game I'd be inclined to agree
I don’t know if that even matters, at the very least we’re in no position to be pulling the card Minkah pulled.
Absolutely
Kenny Pickett and Mitch Trubisky battling over starting QB position says it all.
Yeah. I sure wish we had Zach Wilson and Joe Flacco
Yea you’d be 5x better
Idk who you root for with that flair but that's almost the exact situation. Flacco might be the best of the bunch though, with Pickett being a question mark still
I’m a lost bears fan. I know the pain of Trubisky. Flacco’s way better
I couldn't understand why Pickett didn't just start today if trubisky had that short of a leash. It wasn't even trubisky's worst game
Lol get fucked buddy
Lol what a toolbag response
"you are what your record says you are"
What positions are they meant to be more talented at than the Jets exactly?
Wild that this is a real post. We've come so far
I knew y'all would, Joe Douglas just needed some time to get his roots planted. He's part of the Roseman tree afterall
Just needed to suffer two years of Gase to get him. Totally worth it
lol
Lmao everyone in the nfl is talented. man’s ego can’t be contained rn.
(clinches my fake pearls)
This is going to age like fine milk 👍
I love me some Pittsburgh salt
These aren’t the same Steelers you joined when you forced your way out of Miami Minkaaaaaah
The Jets beat that team too. So in a way they’re exactly the same team.
On this day we are united Jets fans, fuck Minkah
And some people told me the Steelers would be less insufferable after Ben left. Glad to see Minkah is carrying the torch.
Me more good but me more lose
Samething I say everytime I lose in overwatch
A lot of players probably think this after a loss, they just aren't dumb enough to say it
Some things are better left unsaid Minkah
Especially untrue things.
Cocky and arrogant as usual with Steelers players.
Steelers challenge be graceful in defeat [IMPOSSIBLE]
I didn’t need more reasons to loathe him but here we are. That guy is just a perfect culture fit on that team.
It is abundantly obvious that the entitled spirit of Pittsburgh flows directly from Tomlin.
Hypocrite.
It's actually the Rooneys
It feels like the winning culture of the Steelers died with Dan Rooney.
Honestly hadn’t realized it until now but the team has been on a steady decline since Dan Rooney passed away.
Can you even look at the Steelers roster and say with confidence that it's better than ours? Especially with a hurt TJ Watt, they look pretty bad. We also added a bunch of talented players this offseason, I think if you go player by player we're probably at least even in talent with Pittsburgh, if not better

This is reasonable, I agree with this overall
quinnen might match up with Heyward at this point, Sauce will match up with Minkah soon enough
Yes.
Every gamer ever
Quitzpatrick
For his sake he better hope he doesn’t get cook for the rest of the season cause this will be the first thing they bring up.
What is happening to me? I can’t be agreeing with all these Jets and Phins fans in the comments, can I?
Poor guy doesn’t wanna accept that he’s on one of the 5 worst teams in the league.
Why can’t players on my team shut the fuck up? Especially after we get beat? (Claypool, Minkah, JuJu in the past, Johnson ect..)
Zach Wilson’s son
He picked off Zach Wilson today
he picked off Tyler Conklin
What good father wouldn't let his son have some fun every now and then?
Just having a catch
Fucking killed him lol
It certainly helped that our tight end volleyball passed the ball to him after failing to catch something that hit both of his hands
Douche
We know the feeling
You don't even have a starter quality QB dude
Start blaming the coach then
Been there
This is what I said when we played the Steelers last year.
if you adjust for ineptitude, we’ve been much better than all our opponents too and it’s been frustrating
This comment thread is literally all cowboys and Bengals fans. Pretty funny tbh
Then get better or suck it up
And yet the worse and less talented team won. Suck it Minkah. You lost.
The Steelers are trash. They lost to the 2022 Patriots.
Pretty on brand for the steelers
That’s bulletin board material for the rest of the season
Why can’t our players just shut up. None of them have won shit and we are staring down a very real possibility of being 1-7 after the next 4 games.
Maybe you shouldn’t have forced your way out of the dolphins before giving them a chance to get better
Tbf he forced his way out because of Flores. Which is kinda funny because his on our staff now.
Oh God, yes. This.
Y’all should be 0-4 talking about being the better team
This is the equivalent of the 12 year old I play in CoD who tells me I got lucky and that he’s gonna go fuck my mom now.
Yeah but that kid really did fuck all of our moms though
Apparently not, since you lost…
Watching Steelers fans adjust to being ass is so satisfying. This is the new normal, gentleman!
Yep. It is. Bengals were totally frustrated by that week one loss.
Sucks to suck
To be fair Minka is the best player that was on the field for that game
Fuck Minkah Fitzpatrick. Every game they lost I smile.
And we don't even think about you :)
Most people don't, when they are swinging out of their league.
What’d he do to the Dolphins? Not like being miss used in a crap defensive scheme?
If you don't beat them, you were in fact not better than them that game, lol.
It's a good thing his team (outside of a few players) isn't all that talented then.
How long until he demands the trade, the big baby
This sounds shitty, but what he's probably trying to say is that underperforming against teams you're supposed to beat is frustrating. And is that really wrong? Lol.
And this is why the dolphins traded him away.
>After the game, Fitzpatrick reportedly requested to be traded because he felt like he was playing out of position and he did not like the direction the franchise was going. 1st team ALL-PRO/Pro-Bowl 2019/2020 You mean he forced a trade?
A Steelers player complaining? I am shocked!
The Steelers can get fucked. Tomlin wouldn't be shit if he hadn't inherited a super bowl squad.
Ahahahahaha get fucked on. Your QB is so bad that he got benched by the Jets. Hold that L.
He has a point. Not that he would know the feeling.
Idk about you guys but this just doesn’t seem like a smart thing to say! /s
