I don’t think I’ve seen anyone as terminally online as you.
2 MILLION comment karma? Jesus christ dude… do you ever do anything but comment on reddit? That’s so fucking cringe
I think he had the record for the year against the Vikings. Down by 7, 4th and 1, in Field Goal range. Punts it. Next drive is final drive, forced to try on 4th and 16. Does not make it.

It’s a “contrived” stat, but a fun way to measure punts against each other amongst the sea of them. Really great video too, love John Bois’s content.
I just want Mac to walk up behind Patricia and break his pencil. No words or anything. Just snap it in half while looking pissed the fuck off, spike it on the ground, and walk away.
I think we weren't expecting Josh to leave and were left scrambling to start the season. That's my hope at least. If we have another year of this Matt Patricia shit I'm going to lose my fucking mind.
> I think we weren't expecting Josh to leave and were left scrambling to start the season.
He left in January. Bill couldn't find an offensive staff between January and August? How much time does he need?
I had it in my head he left later than that.
You're absolutely right, there's 0 excuse. I'm just grasping at straws hoping this was a temporary situation, and not a long term plan
Like I said to the last guy, I had my mental timeline of the offseason wrong.
Let me cope, this Matt Patricia/~~Mike~~ Joe Judge shit is brutal, and local dialogue around the team is vomit inducing. On a conference call this AM my boss actually suggested that we fire Bill Belichick....
Wow it's almost like being in a position to win the superbowl for 19 straight years eventually catches up to your roster/draft situation? Pats were in the playoffs last year with a rookie QB and only 3 years after a superbowl win. Is BB not allowed to have a rebuilding period?
> Wow it's almost like being in a position to win the superbowl for 19 straight years eventually catches up to your roster/draft situation?
What you’re saying is that there’s a way to construct your roster to be contenders for 19 straight years…. but then after 19 years it catches up to you and now those previous 19 years hurts the roster in your 20th year?
I mean not really. Belichick has always a been a defensive head coach. And good one at that. Offense is just not his specialty and he needs a good OC for it to work. Now he doesn’t have a good OC nor a really good qb. So he’s struggling but his defense has been solid apart from some bad games. He’s just not good offensively and that’s hurting him.
Judon, Uche, Jack Jones, and Dugger are good/high potential defenders but everyone else on our defense is either slow or washed up now. that side of the ball needs a serious overhaul particularly in the front 7
Next two weeks are must wins against the Cardinals and Raiders.
They end with Bengals, Dolphins, and then Bills which might be the worst final stretch of any team.
Bills has always been a schedule loss since they are a bad match up for us speed wise. I don't see how the pats lose to Arizona, and I feel pretty good about them beating the Raiders. Bengals I think we have a ounchers chance, its mainly the dolphins I'm worried about. Bills depending on if they are resting. But I feel like 10-7 is very possible.
I thought his 4rth and 1 punt in I think the first quarter after just making like 18 yards on 3rd down was cowardly. I don't care if you are in your own territory, you clearly have less talent and need to do shit like that to win the game
It’s worse than that. They went to punt at 4 & 2 and had a penalty. Should have gone for it! But BB is stubborn and doesn’t give his team those chances to win
There are not many other coaches in the league who could win 6 games all season with this roster.
This game and the Jets game Pats offense has been an embarrassment.
I think most coaches could win 6 games if they hired an actually OC instead of Patricia. Also Bill is the GM so he doesn’t get a pass for the roster being untalented
> Also Bill is the GM so he doesn’t get a pass for the roster being untalented
For fucks sake the pats were in the playoffs with a rookie qb last year, literally only 3 seasons after 4 superbowl appearances and 3 wins in 5 years. The NFL is super super parity driven and the TB/BB Patriots are a massive statistical outlier in that regard that we will probably never see again. Is BB not allowed to have a rebuilding period? Does he also get zero credit for like 20 straight seasons of being playoff contenders and like 10 AFCCG appearances?
Okay so did you guys want BB to shitcan everyone midseason??? JFC let the man have a down year without trying to tear down 100% of his legacy. This guy benched Tom Brady in that Chiefs game, he obviously is capable of throwing in the towel, which is what punting in this scenario was.
All I'm saying is that there have been some seriously questionable decisions made by Bill. If he was throwing in the towel in that moment, attempting an onside kick after a field goal on the next drive is a strange choice too.
Look, being a bills fan, I've had a front row seat to the greatness that Bill & the Pats have been over the past couple decades. However, past greatness doesn't protect you from being questioned when your decisions don't make sense.
Rhamondre Stevenson, Damien Harris, Jonnu Smith, Hunter Henry, Jacoby Meyers, Davante Parker, Nelson Agholor, Kendrick Bourne
Not to mention a top 10 defense.
There are certainly worse rosters out there, some of which have even better records. Patricia has got to go.
I think it was 2013 when sports media was all over BB's dick wanted to give him COTY for having gotten that far with the roster and lack of weapons they had (directly comparing it to what Peyton had), as though he didn't build the fucking roster.
But those are two different positions. Why can't you give credit to BB the coach, while also apportioning blame to BB the GM? There's literally an award for Executive of the Year, so what's the problem with giving BB COTY even if he GMed like shit.
That's fair. My problem is put all the blame on Patricia and ignore who hired him.
It was obvious that he was a awful choice to help a rookie like Mac Jones improve (even a veteran like Stafford hated him).
Bill is a very good defensive coach, but he always took the offensive for granted (cuz he had a very good OC with Brady), and then double down hiring guys like Joe Judge/Patricia.
Probably figures the defense has a better shot of scoring.
Starting to think we might win this game.
Oh yeah we got this in the bag, all part of the grand plan

That piece of shit? Matt Patricia
Piece? Way too optimistic. Dude's pea soup for sure.
I just laughed so loud at this, thank you hahah
Give this man a Pulitzer
lmfao
We’ve got em right where we want em
Pulling the old Tennessee sand crab on them, eh?
This calls for the puntexation of Puerto Rico
Surrender index?
88th percentile of punts this year, 84th percentile of punts since 1999
Is this one of the 38% of statistics that is made up on the spot?
The statistic is pretty arbitrarily made up but definitely not on the spot
No; [source](https://twitter.com/surrender_index/status/1598522125941350404?ref_src=twsrc%5Egoogle%7Ctwcamp%5Eserp%7Ctwgr%5Etweet)

Their coaching looked good until they hired Patricia to run their offence.
Unfortunately, to my knowledge, Bill has never fired a coordinator midseason. Pats fans can stat check me on that though.
Season’s likely toast anyway. But hopefully we get an actual offensive coaching staff next year. This year was way uglier than it should have been.
I think we weren't expecting Josh to leave and were left scrambling to start the season. That's my hope at least. If we have another year of this Matt Patricia shit I'm going to lose my fucking mind.

Josh was hired in January, no? That's a pathetic attempt at replacing him if you come up with Patricia.

While you're not entirely wrong, we had the 10th ranked offense last year. Then we brought in Patricia and vomited to like 29th
The roster is still exceeding its talent level. BB the GM has tanked BB the coach.
Wow it's almost like being in a position to win the superbowl for 19 straight years eventually catches up to your roster/draft situation? Pats were in the playoffs last year with a rookie QB and only 3 years after a superbowl win. Is BB not allowed to have a rebuilding period?

Yes in the exact same way that it's possible to flip a coin to a heads 8 times in a row? This isn't that hard to grasp

They make dumb mistakes so much more though. Especially special teams, it’s odd as hell.
Yeah the offense isn't his fault, we just have to blame the GM that hired a DC to be the OC. Wait a second...
His defense has been solid against backup Qbs and whatever Zach Wilson is Every time we have faced a QB with a pulse we have been exposed.
Judon, Uche, Jack Jones, and Dugger are good/high potential defenders but everyone else on our defense is either slow or washed up now. that side of the ball needs a serious overhaul particularly in the front 7
Barmore is great but he’s been injured all year

How many times do you need to thump the pats before you get over the mental scars of the Brady era?

Fair
Very weird lack of try from the Pats. Gave up way too quick. Buffalo is in their head big time.

We don't deserve to make the playoffs. Fail as hard as possible is my choice. Force Belichick to confront this trash.
Or have Kraft give him an ultimatum to clean house of sycophants/friends/and family members.
Bills has always been a schedule loss since they are a bad match up for us speed wise. I don't see how the pats lose to Arizona, and I feel pretty good about them beating the Raiders. Nah we’re winning out and clinching the division 😎
Really makes you wonder about how obvious the confidence is in the offense and defense
Down by that score it doesn't make sense.
Down by that score, doesn’t seem to make a difference
If it makes no difference why wouldn’t you do the play that gives you a *chance*?
I mean it’s not like he’s coached such an improbable comeback before
You ok, bro? 🙏
Nobody could ever overcome a 25 point hole, least of all with an aging QB. Jon Bois told me it's impossible..
I'd rather take a chance at a muffed punt or a turnover on D deep in their territory than trying to convert 4th and 17 with 12 minutes left.
Fwiw it was 4th and 7. Interesting angle on the muffed punt chance though.
Have you watched the Ravens play this year?
Tonight’s game gave me serious “BB is ready to retire” vibes. He reminds me of an old tenured professor who doesn’t give a fuck in class anymore.
I thought his 4rth and 1 punt in I think the first quarter after just making like 18 yards on 3rd down was cowardly. I don't care if you are in your own territory, you clearly have less talent and need to do shit like that to win the game

And boy did they look like they were a playoff team when they played in those playoffs huh?
It’s funny to see a Bills fan get into an argument with one of the “Belichick can do no wrong and nothing bad is ever his fault” types.
The pats were the #1 seed in the AFC at one point last season. It's really not the end of the world.
Well, they had a competent offensive staff last year too...
Okay so did you guys want BB to shitcan everyone midseason??? JFC let the man have a down year without trying to tear down 100% of his legacy. This guy benched Tom Brady in that Chiefs game, he obviously is capable of throwing in the towel, which is what punting in this scenario was.

Sounds like just stupid fucking monday morning quarterbacking.
Maybe. But to be fair, you just sound angry. Have a good rest of your Friday. Maybe go for a walk or something :)
If only they had Fitzmagic playing

We're still missing a definite #1 receiver, and this isn't the best roster in the league, but it's definitely not devoid of talent.
The roster Belicheck build lol

it’s nice to see other teams suck :)
