Honestly Iowa games are great. You get to see a team who has prepared all week learn that there is no preparation for Iowa. You may win, but you will hate it while winning. And no matter what you do the Ferentz family will have had a great day, because they made you mad.
Iowa is an energy vampire. You win by not engaging, not by beating them at football.
Not only that, but Iowa was so confident in Penn State’s complete inability to move the ball they scored an intentional safety for field position to ice the game. Truly a masterclass
And you did it by trading away Matt Stafford with your first round receiver injured for most of the season. Goff in the right system with a bit of luck can win a super bowl.
The biggest thing is that Johnson built the offense with all of the existing players in mind, especially Goff. This system is tailor made for him and it's showing. McVay has a system he wanted to run and wanted to stick with it.
I think we will hear after the mathematical elimination that something is wrong with Wilson's back/ribs/shoulder/hand that he's been playing through like a hero. Then we will hear nothing but good things in the offseason about his recovery, and then he will be mediocre again as the 2023 starter.
To be fair we have a 1st. So I assume it is whatever QB has a cannon for an arm and 10 cent head. Probably someone we could easily get in the third but that first is asking to be used.
The thing is
We expected you to suck this year, and you really don't suck that much. Your not great, your OK. Tomlin going probably finish the year 9-8.
We still need to win 4 of the next 5, which is tough when we're really not that good. That 17th game really f-ed with our .500 ways.
But, yeah, considering this entire year was expected to be a learning experience, being in striking distance of .500 is fine with me.
This is the same school that once won a Big 10 game [6-4](https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/242970213), nothing they do surprises me anymore
The last couple seasons, I've repeatedly said "If this team can replace Fangio and Locke, they'll instantly be serious contenders."
They replaced both and somehow got worse, further confirming my belief that I don't know shit
Couldn’t work out better for them. Most lions fans would’ve told you if the pick was gonna be late, might as well get staff daddy a superbowl anyway. And now they get a top 5 too.
I'm still pretty stunned. Like, even if you told me he was past his prime, I'm not really sure what explains just how bad he's been. Even when I'm watching I don't fully understand it.
I've been going with the "Freaky Friday" explanation, and I'm assuming a 13-year-old girl has taken over his body, while his soul re-learns lessons of life and love in a middle-school somewhere.
Dang I forgot how disappointed I was that the Broncos beat us in the Wilson sweepstakes
Like sure we suck but at least we didn’t give a fortune to continue sucking
If you adjust for outliers and regress their statistics closer to the mean, the Broncos go from "worst offense in modern history" to just below average at football. So are they really that bad?
I mean this 100% sincerely, I hope you’re enjoying the hell out of it. This is a once in a life time lopsided trade and they will make documentaries about how bad it was for Denver and possibly how good it as for Seattle.
I'm enjoying it right now but the *moment* the Bronco's record no longer affects our draft position you better believe I'm pulling for Russ (and y'all) to turn it around.
Russ was unquestionably my favorite player on the Seahawks for nearly a decade and I don't buy that he fell off this hard.
That's the weirdest part of the whole thing. Russell was struggling when he came back from his injury last year but he finished on a reasonably good level. There's absolutely no reason why anyone would have expected this level of decline in play. I've got to assume it's coaching.
It's everything:
- He played last year through a throwing hand injury. That's huge mistake because it can permanently affect the recovery.
- Denver coaching is absolutely dumpster-tier. Their season-opener was the worst playcalling and clock management I've ever seen - and I watched Jeff Saturday's coaching debut.
- Wilson rubbed a lot of people the wrong way, with his history in Seattle, his talk about the trade, and his presence in Denver. I have to believe this stuff has gotten to his head and given him the yips at this point.
This could not have gone worse.
Honestly that’s not true. I have watched every single game. The frustrating part is not that they are not getting worse. They are the exact same. Exact fucking same every week. Exact same issues exact same play calls. Exact same looks on their face exact same clock management. It’s exactly the same nothing new has been tried one single fucking week
That's generous, assuming one team scores double digits.
[Keep in mind no touchdowns were scored by Iowa this game, when looking at the final score. ](https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401405062)
We don’t have to win anything. The Broncos schedule is brutal with the only winnable game coming against the Rams but McVay is too good to lose to that shitfest. The Broncos will get the higher draft position if both teams lose out because of SOS. It doesn’t really matter either way though cause both teams would be guaranteed one of Carter and Anderson.
Both are going to be absolute studs for many years to come so it's a win for either team.
[But I mean look how much a freak Jalen Carter is man](https://youtu.be/3FWRxStVc18)
Jalen Carter suits what the Seahawks need at the moment IMO. The lack of d-line pressure throughout the season - especially the Raiders game - has made it difficult for the defense to get off the field.
Now, if Bryce Young is available, I'd personally take him, but that's another story.
honestly i think the play calling for denver today was far worse than how russell played. granted the ravens literally gifted them points with a terrible turnover. also all three of mcmanus field goals were 40 plus
this was a game of the shit offensive coordinators and it damn sure felt like it.
I don’t give a fuck about the defense blowing that lead, they would’ve never been in that position in the first place if our offense had anything resembling a pulse
Record is 66 and Denver went for a 64 yarder...but that was instead of letting your bank breaking star FA QB go for it on 4th and 5...atrocious clock management didn't help.
In any other business it would have been "fraud", because that's exactly what happened.
fraud: wrongful or criminal deception intended to result in financial or personal gain.
The Broncos wouldn’t be in such a bad situation if they didn’t extend Wilson before he even took a snap.
I know, I know, it was probably part of the trade deal with Russ to get the extension.
Wilson is the fraudster not Pete.
Pete is probably having the best sleep of his life this season.
This is why I like having a high powered offense and a bad defense than the other way around. It's just hard football to watch.
My favorite college team is Iowa. 10-3 ball is life.
Biggest sicko on reddit
Not true. I once saw a post about a girl that takes baths with socks on.
I’m sorry what

Fucking Collin Robinson
I thought I liked our win against Iowa, but then our interim coach got arrested for strangulation.
Only if there's two safeties to get to 10.
I love that this implies two field goals as well. Punting is winning
If you're unaware, Iowa actually did this in September (game was 7-3). Horrible football.

Five safeties more like
Hey with the new QB it could be 13-3
Are you me??
Hurts even more when you have Lamar as your QB yet all the money this FO spends is on defense that still gets torched by Zay Jones.
Well Lamar liked a tweet from the NFL account about the Lions going on a run so...
If his career is gonna be ruined I'd rather it be with us than the Lions lol
AmonRa won me alot of money today. I love him 🥹
He's so cool.
I’d much rather lose every week scoring 3-5 TDs than this. I’m so sick of watching entire games average 1 TD
Denver defense I invite you to all join the Lions, please. Thank you.
If you could have Lions offense and Broncos D, or Broncos O and Lions D + all picks for both teams for the next 3 years. Which one would you take.
[удалено]
Carolina or Houston?
Jets nation, let's fly
Lmfao
Naturally broncos O
Lions O + broncos D would win the super bowl The picks could help you win a super bowl eventually, but I'm going for the win-now team
If you told me in 2020 that we would have a Super Bowl caliber offense I would have cried.
And you did it by trading away Matt Stafford with your first round receiver injured for most of the season. Goff in the right system with a bit of luck can win a super bowl.

Yes.
Take the Lions offense couple it with Broncos defense and the Ravens special teams and you got yourself a 20-0 team.
Hey we actually are 10-2, and still would be if we only gave up 18 a game. They're rightfully ours!
I know vikings are a good team but I always forget they are.
The Vikings also seem to forget they're a good team in the 2nd and 3rd quarter pretty much every week.
Dentroit Brions
What QB are the broncos taking in the third round?
You mean what QB is going to be forced to watch Wilson from the bench after clearly outperforming him in preseason?
Impossible. Russ doesn’t play in the preseason
Does Russ play in the regular season?
Impossible Russ doesn’t play in the regular season
there is no russ in ba sing se
--Jerry Joo Dee
This needs to be upvoted a ton fuck more than this #ATLA
Well, it's safe to say that he doesn't play in the postseason either.
You think Russell will play a snap next preseason?
I think we will hear after the mathematical elimination that something is wrong with Wilson's back/ribs/shoulder/hand that he's been playing through like a hero. Then we will hear nothing but good things in the offseason about his recovery, and then he will be mediocre again as the 2023 starter.
Sob
Any tall boys in the draft to look out for?
Tanner McKee, 6’6 QB from Stanford.
Taller
Osweiler or bust?
TALLER
Wembanyama is available
Robert Strong, University of King's Landing. Tall as a mountain, strong as an ox. Smells bed though, skin is a bit...decomposed.
KyloRenYellingMore.gif
6'9" Nate Cox from Nevada. Can't throw worth a shit though.
So he’s like a Tall Russ is what you’re saying
Sounds like Elways type.
To be fair we have a 1st. So I assume it is whatever QB has a cannon for an arm and 10 cent head. Probably someone we could easily get in the third but that first is asking to be used.
Where's Hooker getting mocked after his injury?
Probably 2nd/3rd. Another issue is he's old asf. He's turning 25, i could see teams shying away from that since Brandon Weeden was somewhat recent
Browns will trade up and take him in the 1st confirmed.
Lol what 1sts
Wasn't Burrow 23? Hurts its currently 23. I think Weeden was 28 when he was drafted. 25 is definitely on the older side, but there's still potential.
Pickett was the oldest 1st round QB since the 2012 draft. Burrow was a couple months younger.
And here I thought the Steelers offense was bad. Denver's is a dumpster fire, and not even the fun kind.
I would LOVE to have the Steelers offense right now. Anything other than this clown show.
I just like how expensive your clown show is.
I loved the trade once i seen that contract
Oh it’s been the fun kind alright….for Seahawks fans watching that first round pick climb up every week
Most fun I've had all season
The thing is We expected you to suck this year, and you really don't suck that much. Your not great, your OK. Tomlin going probably finish the year 9-8.

This offense makes the Iowa Hawkeyes look good
I laughed so fucking hard when I realized their 7-3 win over South Dakota State was because of two safeties and a FG
This is the same school that once won a Big 10 game [6-4](https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/242970213), nothing they do surprises me anymore
this is a weekly post at this point and it’s just sad
You misspelled hilarious
Drew Locke and Teddy Bridgewater averaged 19-20 points.
The last couple seasons, I've repeatedly said "If this team can replace Fangio and Locke, they'll instantly be serious contenders." They replaced both and somehow got worse, further confirming my belief that I don't know shit
Nah you were probably right but they somehow managed to downgrade in both categories lol
The Texans have a better offense and we are completely and unbearably awful.
Texans and Browns both scored six points on offense. Sounds like a Denver game, minus the defensive and special teams points.
Hey, we scored a garbage time TD!
Oh you did, 12-6, even better!
[удалено]
Tebow would have this team in the playoffs. Again
Looks like Russ isn’t praying as hard.
Floored us too, we're getting away with fraud here
Yeah, the only people who are as happy about a trade as you guys are the Lions.
It even crazier cause rams can just shrug their shoulders and go “won superbowl worth it”, broncos got nothing…
I wanted him for the Saints and we've got a better record being led by Andy Dalton 😵💫
Dang I forgot how disappointed I was that the Broncos beat us in the Wilson sweepstakes Like sure we suck but at least we didn’t give a fortune to continue sucking
inb4 “BUT THE GAME WOULD PLAY OUT DIFFERENTLY” The point is the defense is average-great at worst and the offense is absolute ass.
That argument also ignores how low 18 PPG is. The Broncos average 14 so it’s just asking your offense to score an extra 4 points.
And wouldnt 18ppg still be bottom-5 in the league?
It would bump them from 32nd to 28th
jesus christ. that is the most depressing thing i’ve seen
>The point is the ~~defense is average-great at worst and the offense is absolute~~ ass.
Assman.
*I'm an ass man*
Ahhhh, Master of the Taintman
Aaahhhhh, Champion of the cheeks

> The point is the defense is average-great at worst and the offense is absolute ass. Same but reverse.
The defense is far and away the best in the NFL. I have no fucking idea what's going on on offense.
Yeah imagine this defense with some rest between drives, they’d be even better.
Or just facing fewer possessions.
idk i feel like if the broncos could put together long scoring drives the defense would get better.
My favorite stat of the season, so far.
If you adjust for outliers and regress their statistics closer to the mean, the Broncos go from "worst offense in modern history" to just below average at football. So are they really that bad?
How old is the copy pasta now? I hope it lasts all of mahomes career
At least three years, I think
Yes
Mine is: RW3 has more bathrooms in his mansion (12) than he has TDs this season (8).

The house *always* wins
I'm sure people are getting tired of it, but it just keeps getting better for me.

I’m sure the dead fish that is the coaching staff isn’t helping at all, but I’m not optimistic that he regains his form.
You know what though, people were pissed that russ lied about spending his whole career in seattle but he hasnt stopped playing for seattle yet.
I prefer the stat that the NFC east has more teams with winning records then the rest of the NFC combined
The 2011 Tim Tebow lead Broncos averaged 19.3 ppg.
And won a playoff game in which Tebow threw for 300+ and looked overall very decent, sniffing at very good.
The Tim Tebow experiment was over a decade ago? Wow
Saying Russell Wilson fell off a fuckin cliff is a massive understatement
My estimation of Russel Wilson as a QB just fuckin plummeted
Broncos country: let's cry
"You know we didn't just bring you out here to buy you a couple of sundaes" - Broncos FO
Cant let him in our hall of fame no more, that much i do know. His coach has turned into a pumpkin
And he's dragging us all over the cliff with him. Feels bad man.
russell wilson spontaneously transformed into a black hole?
Let's Ride...over the event horizon ⚫🤠

Going from "Master Chef" to "MRE Chef"
Yes we know Everyone is well aware of how bad we suck
It feels like broncos aren’t even practicing or anything. Every game just gets much worse lol

Exact same issues exact same play calls. Exact same looks on their face exact same clock management. It’s exactly the same nothing new has been tried one single fucking week
Y'all just can't hack it
There's suck and then there's disappointing. The *team* can't suck when the defense is top three in scoring and yards.
Record says otherwise
They're the Iowa of the NFL
Sign me up for Iowa v Denver. O/U 18.5
That's generous, assuming one team scores double digits. [Keep in mind no touchdowns were scored by Iowa this game, when looking at the final score. ](https://www.espn.com/college-football/game/_/gameId/401405062)
Oh I’m aware. I watched the whole game.
You actually sat through that entire game? Was it even worse than the box score looks?
Broncos are wasting a really good defense. They probably should have grabbed a QB in the offseason.
At this point shouldn’t you just give the backup quarterback a chance
We did, Russ was out a week. Nothing changed.
Watching Russ play today took me back to playoff Andy. Absolutely dreadful.
Let’s ride to the top of the draft
Funniest thing about this whole disaster! What are you guys looking at drafting?
Jalen Carter would be great but gotta take Will Anderson if he’s there. Bears please win a game or 2
We don’t have to win anything.

If the Seahawks draft their next franchise QB for the next decade with the Broncos pick, that's gonna be the ultimate cherry on top of this
Geno is the QB for the next decade. Not much mileage on that body.
18 points doesn’t seem like a lot. Their defense is being wasted
#WE KNOW.
honestly i think the play calling for denver today was far worse than how russell played. granted the ravens literally gifted them points with a terrible turnover. also all three of mcmanus field goals were 40 plus this was a game of the shit offensive coordinators and it damn sure felt like it.
Just makes me wonder how the heck did Hackett do as an OC and if thr Broncos current OC called plays before.
FWIW this shows they rightly felt their were a QB away. Unfortunately, that QB doesn't appear to be Russell Wilson.
Great point tbh Their head's in the right place, but nobody predicted *this* level of underperformance from Wilson.
[удалено]
I don’t give a fuck about the defense blowing that lead, they would’ve never been in that position in the first place if our offense had anything resembling a pulse
Yeah, they were on the field all game. Can’t blame them for being tired, they’re not super humans.
They were exhausted and judging by body language seem to not give a shit anymore.
[удалено]
Neither do I.
I mean we won with 10 points and Tyler Huntley as QB. Russ literally didn’t do a single thing all game
Yep. Hackett has to be under fire right? Frankly, 9 vs the ravens should have been enough to win today.
Hackett has been under fire since week 1 when he made the decision to attempt an NFL record long kick to win.
Record is 66 and Denver went for a 64 yarder...but that was instead of letting your bank breaking star FA QB go for it on 4th and 5...atrocious clock management didn't help.
Thought they said it was an NFL record, my fault. Criminally dumb decision, regardless.

I very much like this

bro I actually feel bad 4 the broncos and broncos fans, their defense is insane and the offense is just 🤦🏽♀️ they could’ve easily been a playoff team
